10 Impressive Places to Try Whiskey in Philly | Eater Philly

"You can treat yourself to a taste of local, American, Japanese, or Irish whiskeys at Lloyd, a Fishtown whiskey bar that opened in 2012. If making a decision on what to taste becomes difficult, you’re in luck, you can opt for one of their many whiskey flights to discover a new favorite." - George Banks-Weston

Lloyd Whiskey Bar Review - Fishtown - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Lloyd’s, a whiskey bar in Fishtown, has some of the best bar food in the city. There are snacks like everything-spiced popcorn and fried deviled eggs, as well as seasonal salads, and an excellent burger with muenster cheese, pickled red onion, lettuce, tomato, and bread and butter pickles. On Sunday, they also serve brunch - which has “beermosas,” shrimp and grits, and make-your-own breakfast sandwiches." - Sydney McElwee

I heard their bar food was good but I was surprised how good it was. The grilled cheese was definitly made with some good high quality cheese and mushrooms. It wasn't too much either like a lot of grilled cheeses are. The potato salad was ballanced well and matched well too. The atmosphere was good as well with some great lighting and seating. The staff was friendly and quick as well. Overall a good spot especially if you want a bite with your drink.

Great spot for drinks - enjoyed the Whisky selection and the beers on tap. Food was really good as well. The Lloyd burger was cooked perfect at medium rare and the street corn was a nice side. Service was great and we all enjoyed our dinner. Will definitely go back.

My friend and I drove up from DC to Philadelphia for a birthday celebration, staying at the Rivers Suites Hotel, and found ourselves wandering around looking for a good spot to eat. After about 15 minutes, we decided to give Lloyd’s a try, and wow, what a gem! I ordered the house salad with chicken, and my friend had the fish and chips. My salad was exactly what I wanted—huge, fresh, and perfectly dressed, with juicy, well-cooked chicken that was tender and not dry. The fish and chips were equally amazing: crispy, perfectly breaded, and served with fries that had the perfect seasoning. I tried to stick to low carbs but ended up eating every bite. The service was flawless too, with friendly staff and a high turnover of guests, which I love since it means fresh food. Lloyd’s Whiskey Bar is a must-visit spot for anyone in Philly!

Me and my husband are hanging out here every day. Everything is amazing. We just don’t like that the bartender cut his long hair, however, he started to grow out a wonderful mustache. But he has a great taste of whiskey and rye.

Google
This is my favorite spot within walking distance to my house. Best spot for happy hour in my opinion. Super laid back whiskey bar. Lots of wood and knick knacks, not an obscene amount tho. Super cozy in the winter, nice and airy in the spring/summer. Check out LLOYD when you’re in the area!

Loved it. Bobby, Matt and Brian were great. Bobby lined up excellent bourbon choices for me and I knocked them down. They know brown. Food was excellent. Fried chicken sandwich is a revelation. Cool atmosphere. Good people. Came from the burbs. worth the drive. Loved it.

Met up with a friend for dinner and really like the ambiance of this place. Gives a really chill, laid-back vibe and they have some great food and drink choices with friendly staff. I ordered the Grilled Hangar Steak which came with chimichurri and green beans and it was the right amount of food. I feel like all the beers from local breweries are refreshing, but if you’re in the mood for a cocktail definitely try the Penicillin. Look forward to my next visit.

The wait was a little long, but the host kept us informed. The decor is eclectic and there is a lot of items to spark conversation. This is a hidden gem. The food was delicious. We both ordered the salmon BLT, mine without the bacon 🥓. It was on a sour dough bread. It was great and worth a second visit. The drinks were great too. My friend got a pilsner and I got a cocktail made with beet juice. Beautiful and tasty. I would also recommend the brussel sprouts. You can order sans the pork.

Yelp
Yelps asks what went well... I have been going here for years... good music... consistent food drinks and service... what else can I ask for more!

Yelp
This is my first time coming here for dinner. There were a lot of people there. The waiter who usually attends our table for brunch was there and he found 2 seats by the window. The dining area was really dark, the back area has more light. It's very hard to get a nice Instagrammable pictures unless you have additional lighting. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Buffalo wings: there were 8 pieces. The buffalo sauce was super mild, I didn't taste the heat at all. The best part is the homemade blue cheese dip. It's thick with chunks of blue cheese. Definitely a step up from the bottled dip. My husband had short rib fried rice. Unfortunately , the short rib meat was a bit dry. It's not a small portion so you can share it with another person. Buffalo trace old fashioned is highly recommended. Very smooth and enjoyable, my favorite so far.

Yelp
Good food, good service, cool staff. Tons of bourbons for the person who has specific bourbon tastes, like me.

Yelp
First off, whatever they put into their Birria empanadas is PURE CRACK. Wonderful wonderful wonderful. I recently moved to Philly and this has been one of my go-to spots. Delicious food, dedicated bartenders. The drinks are excellent. I usually get the Beet happening, And it has become one of my drink cravings. Deep rich flavors and very well made drinks (boozey too !). It gets pretty packed on the weekends, but happy hour time is usually my deal. They have outside seating and a nice atmosphere. Definitely one of the better spots I have tried since coming here.

Yelp
Really cute and quaint neighborhood gem. Very creative and tasty cocktails. We had nachos with diced buffalo chicken would have preferred shredded chicken, too many picked onions but otherwise a very flavorful dish. We also had loaded fries that were smothered in brisket and cheese, the fries were fresh cut and delicious. I am looking forward to trying more cocktails and food in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
I loved the prices of the cocktails here - it's a pretty extensive list. The fried chicken bites were so good, and our service did a good job of checking in on us without being overwhelming!

Yelp
Lloyds is an awesome spot to grab a drink with friends. They have a ton of outdoor space in the summer which is awesome, and it's dog friendly which is a win. They have awesome traditional cocktails and usually a few specials. Food wise, I think their food is good but maybe a little overpriced. The servers are always nice and helpful to make recommendations!

Yelp
Another couple and ourselves live in Bensalem and go to Center City Philly often. We usually spend our time in the Gayborhood, Old City, Rittenhouse Square, or South Street. Dont go to often to Fishtown, so we dont know a lot of places there. This past Saturday we went to Lloyds Cocktail Bar after searching VisitPhilly for a place to go in Fishtown after a show at the Arden Theater. We just hoped on the El to Girard Ave. The coctails were great, the food was great and the service excellent. In fact our group regularly drinks at home a little known cocktail made with Suntory Toki Japanese Whiskey and since they had Toki behind the bar we asked the bartender if he would make it for us if we told him how. He said yes, he made it and it was great. We'll definitely be returning.

Yelp
Pretty good brunch! Bloody Mary and blackberry ginger mimosas were delicious! Fried chicken sandwich was good as were the potatoes although they could have been slightly more crispy! Environment was fun and would be an awesome place to grab a happy hour cocktail at the bar or at the outside seating area. Probably wouldn't come back for brunch but definitely for a cocktail!

Yelp
Doesn't matter if you're here for brunch on the weekend, happy hour, or dinner, the food and drinks are top notch. Service is always friendly. Huge fan of their whiskey selection. The Jack & Wendy is a go to favorite cocktail.

Yelp
I will say, I came here for a nightcap and some whiskey (yes, both things), so I did not try the food that everyone is raving about on here. But I can speak to the vibes, drinks and the staff. All superb. If I lived in Philly (I grew up here but I did not come of age here, sadly), I imagine Lloyd would be a frequent haunt of mine. It's warm and low-key, and there happen to be a few TVs if you like your bourbon with a side of NBA. Sit at the bar, feast your eyes on the whiskey selection, stay until closing. I came here at around 9:30 on a Sunday night with my partner. We were going for one cocktail, but I knew I'd wind up trying some whiskey as well. It seemed that we were both in a banana mood after dinner, as I ordered the Banana-Walnut Old Fashioned (rittenhouse bonded rye, creme de banane, walnut & angostura bitters, twist) and my partner got the Banana Pisco Sour (pisco, tempus fugit creme de banane, lemon, egg white, angostura bitters). Both featuring that decadent tempus fugit creme de banane, the richer cousin of Giffard's banana liqueur. I tend to like my pisco sours more citrusy, but the banana notes were solid. Definitely a bigger fan of the old fashioned, as those flavors made much more intuitive sense to me. I did need to try some whiskey, which involved a very long conversation with the bartenders about everything on their menu, because I am a pain like that. I ended up splurging on the Barrell Seagrass Rye (Rum, Madeira, and Apricot Brandy Finish), which I had never heard of prior to this night. It came highly recommended, and for good reason. This is something special, and it's a label on a mission -- part of the proceeds of each bottle purchased go towards marine conservation efforts. So really, I was drinking to heal the planet. Not a bad deal! Overall, this is a down to earth spot with a great atmosphere and friendly staff, a place you could easily post up at for hours on end, sipping and lounging and chatting.

Yelp
Great drinks good food especially the chicken bites and the salmon BLT. Friendly atmosphere. They have a great cocktail selection. My favorite is the beet martini.

Yelp
Good atmosphere. Staff is friendly and attentive. They have citywides. There was this spicy mezcal cocktail that kicked ass. They have citywides. Fries were good. Citywides. Did I mention citywides? Yeah, of course I would like this place. I will wanna try more of the food next time. The fries are seriously worth it by themselves, but I sat there being a little jealous of other people because I'd already eaten dinner.

Yelp
Good whiskey and great burgers. All I need. Service is relaxed but timely. Parking, forget about it

Yelp
Fried chicken bites are so good here!! Get them with the buffalo sauce, it is amazing! I also tried the nachos with buffalo chicken and it was delicious. Drinks are not bad but not out of this world either. I would highly highly recommend the food though!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is spectacular!!!!!!!!!! The burgers and fries are so good. They are consistently cooked to perfection. If you ask for medium or medium-rare, your burger gets cooked that way. I'm addition, the drinks are excellent and they have a good beer menu. Friendly staff. I go often and have NEVER been disappointed. I highly recommend. They also have good dessert and fish sandwiches.

Yelp
The happy hour drinks were great but the food was even better! Did not expect such bangers-- thoroughly enjoyed the fries, nachos, mac and cheese. My friend got the octopus and it was so tender and flavorful. Will be a go to for me for the future!

Yelp
Came for a couple drinks after dinner. It has such a good vibe and I really like the cocktails I got.

Yelp
We came here on Saturday evening after Kraftworks said that their kitchen was closed at 8:00pm. We hot seated immediately. The ambiance was interesting with music in the background and dim lighting. Good place for date night. We ordered a beer and a cocktail. Both were nice but I felt that cocktail quantity was less making the alcohol strong. Nonetheless it was delicious. We ordered lamb croquettes and duck confit spring rolls. Lamb was bland and the hummus that came along with it was bland too. The server replaced it with Fried deviled eggs which were delicious. Duck confit was ok. We ordered Lloyd's burger and asked for medium well but it came out as medium rare. But this was not a problem. The chef had made the burger perfectly delicious. It really satisfied our burger cravings. We did order another round of drinks. Cocktail portions were small but strong. Whiskey special was nice. Overall, a good place for date night, whiskey night (their selection was good) or simply a good place to satisfy burger cravings.

Yelp
Service- Unfortunately the service was't great during our time here. Our coffees and waters were empty the entire time we were there, our food took over 50mins to arrive, and no one checked on us throughout our time. All the waiters were in such a hurry that we had to nearly make a scene to get their attention for more coffee. However the staff was nice when we were seen, and I can only imagine they were short staffed and it wasn't their intention to forget about us. If I return I'll certainly update this review. Atmosphere- The restaurant was clean and had a cool vibe, sort of divey but also diner style. Food- We went for brunch, and although I was disappointed in the limited veggie options I did see a breakfast sandwich that looked good.. however it came out dry and lacked flavor. My friend who got the same dish felt likewise. We both however really enjoyed the potatoes on the side (seasoned and cooked well). Another friend got the chicken and waffles benny with buffalo hollandaise and said it was excellent! I was hoping to get a side of the hollandaise for my sandwich but we were'nt checked on after our food was dropped off so I did without.

Yelp
Great food and cocktails, great service. Have been here many times and we're never disappointed. One of the best burgers in the neighborhood!

Yelp
Great ambience for a midweek drink and dinner! Really loved the cocktails as well. I had the bahn mi sliders, and with a side of fries it is definitely a full meal. Good service as well and the price was fantastic for 6 drinks and 2 meals it was around $100.

Yelp
We have walked by Lloyd on several occasions but last Saturday night we decided to give Lloyd a try. We sat outside, as it was beautiful and a cooler August evening. I enjoy sitting outside on Girard and watching people stroll by. My daughter and myself are not whiskey drinkers or scotch drinkers but Lloyd had a large list to choose from. Their beer selection was pretty decent also and they have a good selection on tap. We ordered three items off the smaller menu, the Welsh Rarebit of sourdough, stout, cheddar, arugula, the Cheese Board with three select artisanal cheeses, house made accouterments and as special, the Louisiana style crab boil with jersey blue claw crab, red bliss potatoes, jersey corn, old bay, and thyme. Everything was very good and tasted more refined then typical bar food. These there dishes were a good amount for the two of us. The boil was also reasonable at $16.00. Service was great all night. Lloyd is another great choice to East Girard restaurant and bar scene.

Yelp
I've only been here for drinks. They have a great selection of beer and their cocktails are also really good. I tried the R&R Old Fashioned and Island Made and both were fantastic.

Yelp
This place is pretty cool. Boasting appropriately-volumed 80's and 90's rock music, this restaurant/bar not only features a fairly extensive whiskey collection (as it should given its name), but also has several specialty cocktails, boilermaker combinations, and very tasty food. The banana walnut old fashioned is not a typically offered drink and wouldn't necessarily be something I'd order, but it sounded intriguing and I'm glad I ordered it. The chicken bites appetizer is amazing. They're fried, but not a whole lot of batter, and the chicken itself is very tender and not fatty. It looks a little underwhelming when it comes to the table, but my god...looks are deceiving. As for the meals, the steak, atop succotash, is prepared to order and perfectly seasoned. A friend of mine is a vegan and ordered the vegan burrito, which she very happy with and my other friend ordered the burger which he also said was prepared well. Overall, great food and drink options.

Yelp
The tastes of The Franklin Mortgage & Investment Co and Hop Sing Laundromat without the pretentiousness that comes with them (mind you I like that from time to time). Lloyd's offers a solid selection of whiskey drinks and your standard bar fair as well. Friendly bartenders willing to make real recommendations, and not just the highest priced drink on the menu, adds to the experience as well. Oh, and unlike those other two bars, you can actually stand around here! I started with "The Lloyd", Lloyd's take on the city wide - a can of Miller High Life with a shot of Old Grand Dad. At $5, it seems a good way to start... and finish.

Yelp
Cocktails are amazing. Nice relaxing vibe inside with a couple tables outside. I did not eat foot here but I want to come back to try some. The menu looked good. Must try spot for a good old fashion.

Yelp
I've walked by this place countless times and recently decided to give it a shot, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. My boyfriend and I came here during dinner time one evening with our dog and were happy to see our server go the extra mile to make sure our dog was happy and comfortable. The food menu is pretty small, but there's a nice variety of dishes. My boyfriend and I decided to get the Kentucky Fried Duck and the Brisket sandwich. The fried duck platter was pretty satisfactory, though I wish there was just a little more seasoning on the outer fried layer. The brisket sandwich was also pretty tasty; the brisket was nice and tender, though according to my boyfriend, just had a little more fatty meat than he would've liked. If you're into whiskey, bourbon, or scotch, the menu is extensive. They have everything from Johnnie Walker Blue to Jameson and a listing of local whiskies that seems to go on and on. I'm not a huge whiskey/bourbon/scotch aficionado, but our server was very knowledgeable in helping me decide what to order.

Yelp
My whiskey tasting group booked Lloyd for our tasting dinner last night and I had the great pleasure of partaking in really good food and impeccable service. Arriving an hour before our scheduled tasting dinner, I was warmly greeted as I entered by somebody I assume to be the manager. It was a "welcome, how are you?" And he waited for the answer. This was a really nice introduction to Lloyd. Inside was a big bar and in front of the bar long tables where you can stand and drink with your friends. In the back are a couple of booths and some movable tables. That's where our Whisky tasting dinner was and it was a really great space. The greeting at the door and the warm decor inside really made me feel like I was at a friends home. Others in my group started to mingle in early like I, so everybody had the same idea to just get a drink with each other before our dinner. We were all surprised at the reasonably priced happy hour whiskey specials. I was floored to be able to get a Bullet 10 year, neat for $4!!! Everyone who works there was kind and pleasant and service was very very good at both Happy Hour and our Whisky tasting dinner. Menu: Rosemary Parmesan popcorn, Deviled fried eggs, French fries, hush puppies, chicken nuggets, mac n cheese, spicy pickles, chicken and waffle sliders, bbq pork sliders, salmon sliders. All items were very generously portioned, served family style with perfect timing in between items. There wasn't one thing I didn't like because they were all imaginatively done and presented. Everyone at my table enjoyed the food and walked away with full bellies. Lloyd describes themselves as "Quaint local tavern with a retro vibe offers gastropub dining plus craft beers & brown spirits" I agree and more! I will be back.

Yelp
Lloyd provides a great atmosphere and a great meal. I love the low lights and classic Americana bar feel. The food was absolutely fantastic--they must have magicians working in the kitchen. Everything was cooked perfectly and came out in a timely manner. Our server couldn't have been more polite and all the vibes were just right. This is a place I will visit again and again. Thank you!

Yelp
The crew and I have been to Lloyd Whiskey Bar a handful of times so I am really surprised I have yet to compose a review about this place. We usually end up at Lloyd for the simple fact that we can hang out here and waste time washing back some crafty, and classic cocktails. The daily Happy Hour from 5-8 is also a factor. One of the highlights about this place is its location. When you think of Whiskey Bars, Center City comes and places like Village Whiskey immediately come to mind. Fishtown has some really cool and hip locations but I didn't expect a Whiskey Bar to be located in the midst. Second the atmosphere is so relaxed. I have never been here and wasn't able to secure a table or a spot where I wasn't consistently in the way of the staff or other patrons, or literally standing on the back of the customers at the bar trying to enjoy my drink. In addition to their selection of libations Lloyd does have some very intriguing items on the menu. The first time I dined at Lloyd Whiskey Bar my friends and I shared a cured meat platter which consisted of a variety of duck meats. I believe it was a special menu item. During my most recent I decided to go for the signature brick chicken entrée but not before I got my hands on the savory chicken & waffle sliders. Seriously these things are a must have. This place has not disappointed me when it comes to any aspect of this place.

Yelp
Never coming back here again. Went with 2 friends last night. I wasn't really feeling like drinking cuz I don't like drinking alcohol in the heat, and I'm also not a big fan of whiskey/bourbon/scotch etc. My friends ordered a lot to drink and got pretty tipsy. Thank goodness I stayed sober. Because basically, the waiter tried to rip us off... When the bill came, it was $118 total. One of my friends said she was a bit short, financially, and didn't mean to order so many drinks, so even tho I got lemonade I offered to chip in $20. My other friend only had $40 in cash. So we figured out that $118-40-20=$58, and my friend said she could pay that. So we explained to the waiter...we apologized, but we had to divide the bill up in a somewhat complicated fashion. However, he totally understood, and repeated back to us. Take off the $40 cash from the $118. Charge $20 on my card, then the rest on my friend's card. He understood this--everything was to go TOWARDS THE BILL. So when he brought our credit card receipts back, my friend checks hers..and they charged her $98 on her card!!! Now, my friends might have been a little drunk, but they COULD STILL DO MATH. It did not add up. So my friend went to go see why her card was charge $98. She came back still confused-obviously they did not help her resolve the issue. So *I* went up and explained that we gave the waiter $40 in cash, I put in $20, so with a $118 bill, my friend's card should only have been charged $58. They talked to the waiter. Came back and said, "the waiter thought the 40 was for him." That did not sit well with me, but I wasn't going to raise a fuss about it..however I KNEW that was a lie, because he stood there and repeated back to us exactly how the cards were to be charged, and repeated back that the $40 WAS TO GO TOWARDS THE BILL. We were going to figure out the tip once we got the receipts back. So, they took my friend's card back and wiped out the $98 and charged her only $58 AS THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE IN THE FIRST PLACE. After that, I was kinda p*ssed and didn't really think about the tip...I guess my friends were too tipsy to figure out what to tip, but my friend who they originally tried to extort for that extra $40 left a $5 tip. As we were starting to leave, some guy came over to the table and got mad because we had only left a $5 tip. Once again, I held my tongue and did not say "WELL YOUR WAITER TRIED TO RIP OFF MY FRIEND." But my other friends were pretty incredulous that a bar worker would give someone grief about a bad tip. I mean, REALLY? I have never in my life had something like that happen. Then again, no waiter has ever tried to rip me or my friends off before. At first they started to put down way too much money but no way did that waiter deserve more than a 20 pct tip, after what he did. So I figured out what 20 pct was, and we left. This morning I woke up really perturbed about this whole thing, which is why I'm writing this review first thing. I hope the manager sees this. That way I won't have to bother calling later to complain. But yeah..totally shoddy treatment of your customers. I guess the waiter forgot they had one sober friend with them.I hope this bar doesn't make it a habit of ripping off people because they're drunk.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by this local bar. It is pretty dark inside and very bar like but it's very clean and nice! Place is very relaxed and highly accommodating. They have great vegan options as well, especially if you mention you are vegan they will open up more options for you and really accommodate what you are looking for. As thought, the bar menu is extensive. There's pages and pages of bar options from draft beers to cocktails. They have happy hour everyday from 5-7. The food menu is fairly short but the food on there is awesome! We had the chicken and waffles and hush puppies. HIGHLY recommend both. For dinner we all enjoyed sandwiches- the steakhouse burger, spicy orange bbq pulled pork, veggie burger and blackened catfish burger. They all came with fries which are perfectly made. We really enjoyed our dinner and scarfed it down pretty fast!! Very delicious.

Yelp
Got the hanger steak last night. Was served cold and raw in the center. Tried to masked it with their sauce and dim lighting but couldn't get over the cold touch to my mouth, it wasn't red and bloody, it was purple. It was also precut. So someone in the back cut it open and decided it was good enough for me and my girlfriend to eat. I sent it back and don't think I'll come ever come back. Absolute garbage to send out steak colder than room temp. Almost thought it was a joke. I highly recommend that you don't order the hanger steak. But other than that our other experiences have been great thus far. Adios amigos!

Yelp
My old college roommate and her friend were in town this past weekend so we decided to hit up Lloyd for some brunch. The place was nearly empty when we arrived, which gave Andrea the server plenty of time to chat with us! She was super nice and friendly, and recommended a delicious cocktail to my ex-roomie. On top of the fine service and delicious drinks, the food wasn't so bad, either! We tried the fried deviled eggs, which were surprisingly delicious. I got the chorizo pancakes which were OK. A little too much pancake, and not enough chorizo. I wish I would have gotten the rib eye eggs Benedict... it looks absolutely amazing. Overall this was a great place to get brunch, and probably an even better place to come for some dinner or drinks!

Yelp
I came here with a group of friends recently for dinner and drinks. I definitely agree with some of the recent reviews stating to come here for drinks, but skip the food aspect. Unfortunately the food was just not that good. My friends enjoyed their whiskey drinks, while I opted for a Downeast cider. Drink prices were really good since it was Monday night and they have 6 dollar drinks all night. Service was just okay.. We waited for water a bunch of times and also for the check. I don't think they are used to a large party there on a Monday. The food was just pretty disappointing. The nachos on special were awesome and the best thing we had all night. If everything had been that good, it would have been a totally different experience. The fries were ok, nothing amazing, but I did like the aioli sauce on the side. The ricotta and tomato flatbread on special was horrible. The crust was like a crispy pita or something which was cold. The toppings were bland and also cold. We should have sent it back but I hate complaining. I got the spring salad with shrimp as my entree and my husband got the burger done medium. The burger was completely overcooked, bordering on well done and it was dry. The toppings did not make up for it and just was overall a disappointing burger. The salad was actually decent, though could have used a little more dressing. The shrimp were slightly overcooked. Definitely would not come back here to eat with all the other good food choices in the city.

Yelp
Met some out of town family who have flown into Philly from Florida for a relative's wedding. We met at Lloyd and have a good time. Ordered one of the Happy Hour Cocktail specials and it was very good. We ordered dinner and found the food to be very good. I'm not sure why there were such negative reviews but maybe heavy drinkers hold grudges when there's an issue? For us, we enjoyed the evening. Since we're from NJ we don't visit this area much but we would definitely return to Lloyd Whiskey Bar if the opportunity presented itself.

Yelp
Llyod has handily established itself as my favorite spot in Philly. It's just groovy... The food is always inventive and smashingly executed, the playlist is eclectic and entertaining for all and the real seller is the phenomenal Whiskey selection. If you're in the mood to celebrate, the $40 pour of the Whistle Pig 13yr is a life changing must. My top food recommendations are: A lot of the food items are shareable- especially the chicken and waffle sliders. The honey and sriracha syrup really makes these stand out. You get 3 to a plate, so be sure to order your own as well. That won't be enough ;) The loaded fires with duck confit and house cheese sauce are ridiculous. You get a great portion of them as well, which always seems to be enough for 3-4 people. Other worthy contenders include: beet hummus, grandad burger and grilled cheeses!

Yelp
Love Lloyd's and have been going since almost day 1. Service and staff is amazing because the owners, father and son, really care. Whiskey selection and knowledge of whiskies is top notch. The standard food menu is usually pretty good, but they need to keep the quality more consistent.

Yelp
I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience at Lloyd a couple weeks ago. I expected the bar to be dark and divey, but the atmosphere was definitely more in the style of an upscale gastropub. The happy hour runs from 5-8 (amazing) and I really enjoyed the cocktail of the day, the Americano, which our server described as a lighter twist on a negroni. The food menu is pretty short and sweet but probably has something for everyone. I went with the burger, cooked medium. It came out prepared as requested and the beef was super juicy, but I thought it was lacking in seasoning. It was an okay burger but I'd probably try something else next time. Service was great - attentive and friendly. Looking forward to more visits!

Yelp
Lets start off by saying the bartenders here are super sweet and awesome ! Came here on a Monday night for my best friend mini celebration. It's definitely a nice cool place to come to if you just want to grab a drink and a bite with your friends. They have specials and what not which is super awesome. The chicken nuggets here are delicious !! It's more of a deep fried chicken meat ball but it's still delicious it's a must try ! The mac n cheese was super creamy which i loved ! The drinks here are awesome and the variety is endless ! Definitely will come back here more often!

Yelp
We had a great experience here recently, and very much recommended this for others. First, the service was great. Robin, our waitress, was great. Timely with attending to us without being overbearing, had no issue with the additional questions & requests. Thank you Robin, you rock! Drinks were also very good. I had a great whiskey sour that was spruced up with some Syrah and Egg White. The dinner was good, not great, but certainly a fine experience. I recommend the salmon burger. My only comment would be that they might need to look at adding 1 more vegan item to the menu. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Stars are for service. Food would get a 3. Wings are average. Bbq is on point. Croquettes are delightful. The fried Cod sandwich is actually a fishcake sandwich. Which is unfortunate. I dont care for them. Had I known that it wasn't a fried filet I wouldn't have ordered it. Even by fishcake sandwich standards, the sandwich is incredibly dry, even after drenching it in tartare sauce

Yelp
I came to Lloyd on vacation while visiting my fiance. We ended up hopping around to several different places in Fishtown, but Lloyd was the best! We ended up staying there for the rest of the night. The atmosphere was very relaxed, the service from the bartenders was great, and the cocktails and food were amazing! We tried the fried deviled eggs, french onion soup, and a bacon cheeseburger. All of it was delicious. I left feeling very full, but still wanting more of those yummy deviled eggs. The drinks were very unique and tasty. I tried the Jack and Wendy, Pear Hinny, and The True Knot. My fiance always enjoys the Jack and Wendy and Manhattan. I definitely plan to come back to Lloyd whenever visiting Philadelphia.
