My husband and I recently stayed in Healdsburg for our favorite wine event. On Friday evening, we found ourselves sitting in a tasting room, hungry after a full day of wine tasting. The staff member working recommended Lo & Behold for bites and cocktails. We walked in around 6:30 PM and were seated quickly, but given the choice of the only two non-reserved tables in the place.
The atmosphere was welcoming yet chic, and modern, yet cozy. There were a variety of different tables and seating arrangements, tall, low, and bar seating. I liked the high ceilings and all the tiny lights and hanging plants. I took a walk to the back to use the restroom and saw the patio, which was also beautifully lighted and had a lively atmosphere.
Service was great through the meal. My husband and I decided to share small bites and ordered a few cocktails. My favorite cocktail was called After Hours, which was a slightly fruity, but not sweet bourbon cocktail. I think the menu was much more catered to my taste rather than my husbands, as mushrooms and curry were in several items. I enjoy those, but he does not. Therefore, that is something to take into account if you decide to dine here.
We ordered the pickled veggies, backed crab dip, the coconut shrimp toast and curried deviled eggs. Everything was delicious. Probably the coconut shrimp toast was my favorite of those items. If I were to return, I would try some additional cocktails and maybe some of the noodle dishes.
In the heart of wine country, getting great cocktails is rare. It can be a nice change of pace from a day of wine-tasting. We had a very enjoyable dinner at Lo & Behold.
