"Lobby Bar in Hotel Chelsea looks like the elaborate foyer of a chateau that was last renovated in the 1970s. There are rugs, couches, and cheetah print chairs, and you’ll see a big chandelier hanging above the long marble bar. It feels like the kind of place where your boss’s boss would grab a drink with their art advisor, and it’s a nice escape where you won’t hear any music, only bits of conversation from people wearing thick-rimmed glasses. Claim a barstool or a couch in the fern-lined garden room, and drink a house martini made with minimal vermouth and a to-the-brim pour of ice-cold gin or vodka. It’ll hit you fast, so get some fries to eat on the side, or plan an after-drinks dinner at El Quijote next door." - Bryan Kim

Terrible table service. Took an hour just for the server to ask what we wanted despite multiple requests with the waitress and management for service. The bartenders were excellent but otherwise the service was unacceptable. Tables that arrived after us had already finished their food and drinks by the time the waitress was even willing to put in our order.

Bar staff was very nice, but the bar lacked the spirits to make two of the signature cocktails. Why even have them on the menu? I opted for an old fashioned that was far too sweet. Also found it weird that I was brought the check without asking if I’d like something else. The ambiance is nice as long as there’s no live music. The sax guy is talented, but it was so loud my ears were aching 🙉

I had a great time on 08/27/2023 sipping on a mock tail and listening to an amazing Saxophone player, Eddie Baccus Jr. Steve, the bar server was great! People were all having a great time! It was not crowded. I heard the Sax player from another area in MGM and the rich tones drew me to the upper level to “Lobby Bar”! So glad I stopped by! Great musician. Great sound! Great repertoire!

Great Service. Relaxing atmosphere but at times can loud and wild if there is live music. I was there on a hot afternoon and was craving a Rum drink. The bartender recommended a Bahama Mama. It was the best Bahama Mama I can recall having... even compared to ones I have had in New Orleans. I really must have been craving. Thank You Phillip for a great drink.

Has live music, open Friday thru Sundays, dress code is casual, and is located on 2nd level of main atrium lobby.

Since my first review was taking down here it goes again. I would give zero stars if I could because my husband and I had 2 drinks in the lobby while we were staying at the MGM Grand and my second drink had glass in it. Yes Glass that I was picking out of my mouth. All that was offered was our drink bill taking care of which was only 4 between us both and my one was the one with the glass in in. Oh and a $50 voucher for food that we didn't even use because we were afraid then to even eat there. Pictures below for proof. This was Not acceptable and I'm moving forward with making it right.

Not just a bar...it's an experience! Marcus, Charlie and Whitney really know their stuff. This is a destination stop. Whatever drink you love, they will blow you away with their artistic abilities! An experience you won't forget.

I love everything about this bar! Whitley is one of the best ever AND just this weekend I discovered Nacim Ortiz an unforgettable soul, pop singer that WOWed the crowd! MGM please book this man a show! Grab him BEFORE anyone else does and given him a regular gig!

Yelp
I frequent mgm and whenever I check in later in the day I pop into The Lobby Bar to enjoy a cocktail before I hit the casino floor. The bar has a cozy and somewhat sexy vibe yet you can totally enjoy your drinks dressed casually as there isn't a dress code. Fernanda the bartender is always there when I visit and she is so friendly and makes great cocktails. She also ensures that every guest is taken care of even when the bar may be busy. The Lobby Bar always starts my night off right :)

Yelp
Great services provided by Harley at the BET MGM BAR area of the first floor. The conversation was pleasant, food was great and my none alcoholic Shirley Temple drink was refreshing and beautiful. Thanks for making our visit an enjoyable one. Pauletta Bell and Tawana Gee :)

Yelp
I'm just going to jump right into it......you must sit at the bar with Charlie!!! He is hands down one of the best bartenders I've come across. He works at a hidden gem located on the lobby level of the MGM hotel , if you don't seek this spot out you are doing yourself a disservice. I sat at the bar with Charlie for over 2 hours and he handcrafted me some phenomenal drinks. If he creates it you can name it. How awesome is that. He's a young fella so he still has a lot of creative juices flowing. He's spot on with the presentation and taste.....you really can't ask for more. Be sure to come up to the Lobby bar. Ask for Charlie....maybe you'll name his next creation! He's a five star so that makes the bar a five star.

Yelp
I'm updating my review to 3 stars. the other night the bar was packed, which happens. However we could not get a drink at all. My one friend was standing in one place, I was standing in another just seeing who would be waited in first. Neither of us ever got a drink and we went elsewhere. When it is Not crowded to a full bar - it's not a bad bar. The bartenders are friendly for the most part. When it is crowded, standing room only a few deep, unless you were abLe to grab a seat at the bar, you are pretty much out of luck in getting drinks. This night they had 2 bartenders on duty and it was packed! There was a black tie event in the ballroom that was over and an event in the theater that was over and it was packed and uncomfortable. Alsoo, the last time I was there, there were kids taking up four of the leather chairs that are there. I know this isn't the Lobby Bar's fault, but just stating kids do not belong in a bar, especially taking up seats for paying customers. Bottom line - if not crowded then good service and good drinks. If crowded - get a bottle of champagne or order several drinks at once To hold you over for the night! And music is always decent.

Yelp
Our favorite spot on property. Whitley, Alan, Marcus and Charlie are the best!! They are the best

Yelp
The Lobby Bar is located on the same floor as the hotel check in at the MGM National Harbor. The service was great and the bartender was friendly. I enjoyed the Cucumber cocktail, which consisted of prairie organic cucumber vodka, fruitlab organic jasmine liqueur, and fresh lime served over the rocks.

Yelp
Nice relaxing lobby nearby the hotel entrance alway from all the chaos of the restaurants and casino area within the MGM. They now have a food menu list with small bites of sandwiches, hummus with vegetables, caviar (yes, caviar for $95), and macaroons . M-F there's a Happy Hour menu with discounts on wine and champagne. Good place to go to watch a game. TV's are located at the bar. Pros - Veuve Clicquot served by the glass. - Big selection of whiskey - Happy Hour Menu M-F - Quiet area away from the loud scene of the casino - Small Food Menu - Bartenders and Servers are attentive Con - Champagne by the glass like Veuve Clicqout is overpriced when compared to the lounges in the MGM. - There are little fruit flies at the bar area flying around. Management should get a handle on it quickly before it gets worse. You can see them flying around from all areas of the bar. - USB outlets in the seat cushions worked when MGM first open up. Now they are no longer working or out of service.

Yelp
This place is expensive as you'd expect but is about a million times better than you'd expect from a hotel/casino lobby bar. Charles is an amazing bartender and even has his own creations that aren't on the menu. Trust his judgment and you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
I'm a whiskey girl... the Rose & Rye was sweet enough with a whiskey base. Perfectly made by Stephen. He gladly told us about our drink orders...what's in them...how they're made...and offered suggestions based on our palettes. I'd visit MGM again just for a drink at the Lobby Bar!

Yelp
From what I heard from friends and colleagues, I had high hopes for the MGM Grand. This was the first bar I went into once entering the hotel and the drinks were average--there was minimal liquor and overpriced but there wasn't a wait and the servers were energetic.

Robert F.

Yelp
If you need a drink while at the MGM, you must take a trip upstairs to the Lobby Bar. The bartenders take the time to make drinks the old fashion way (No cutting corners)! David made me a "textbook" Moscow Mule, with all the trimmings (down to the the mint garnish). True perfection in a copper cup! Definitely worth the escalator ride uptairs!

Yelp
Delicious cocktails, comfy chairs, and great service what more could you ask for in a bar? I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
The lobby bar at MGM is a chic spot for aperitifs, digestifs or general cocktails. Marcus, specifically, is exceptional. He is incredibly knowledgeable and makes each experience a celebration. Thank you Marcus!

Yelp
Whitley is an exceptional bartender. This is my second old fashioned, highly recommend it. I thought you guys could see for yourselves.

Yelp
Awesome drinks made by Whitley! Cool and refreshing after walking around the MGM Grand for a while for the first time. Thank you!

Yelp
After an exciting & eventful evening of gambling, I was ready to walk away with my winnings & head on home. I ordered a ride to pick me up, & on my way to the hotel valet I ran into Whitley at the lobby bar. Whitley has served me in the past, each time providing exemplary service & delicious drinks. She is EVERYTHING you could ask for in a bartender. Accommodating, comforting, & welcoming. Win or lose, she will help you celebrate your victory, or forget your traumatic experience. Whether you emerge triumphant, or run for the hills, Whitley will take care of you every time.
