DC's New Restaurant Openings - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"Lobby Bar on Capitol Hill is pulling ingredients straight from Eastern Market vendors, which means you’ll find Maryland crab cakes, Old Bay salmon, and a dirty martini that’s been upgraded with an olive oil wash and oyster brine." - omnia saed

It absolutely pains me to have to give this restaurant 2 stars - but it’s only fair that the number of stars accurately reflects the overall/entire experience that we had at Lobby Bar’s Happy Hour (HH). My reservation was for 4:45PM, but unfortunately because of a lane closure on my way to the restaurant - I arrived at 4:55PM. Within the 15 min grace period given to those with reservations. This 15 min “hold” on the table is common practice in the DMV - and the confirmation email from Resy states that tables will be held for 15 minutes. When I checked in with the host, I was told that because I was late my table had been given to another group, and I would no longer be able to have HH, as HH is only for guests seated at the bar and in a particular section of the restaurant. I was then seated at a table (opposite the host stand & the entrance) and given the regular menu. So imagine my surprise when I saw at least three other guests checked in after me given a HH menu and seated in all the sections of the restaurant (not just the HH seating that I had originally been told). So, I asked the host for a HH menu because I saw that there were inconsistencies. Immediately the host - Nicole, got extremely short with me, you would have thought that I was hurling abusive superlatives at her, from the way her demeanour COMPLETELY changed & she “threatened” me with getting the Manger. Of course I welcomed this idea, because she clearly at this stage was being unprofessional and also, I knew I was not asking for anything more than what other patrons had received. The Manager was extremely professional, allowed me to explain the situation & she saw that I was simply asking for the HH menu - and we were given the menu to order from. This clearly VISIBLY annoyed the host (Nicole), and she promptly told her manager she was going to walk out… (yes you read that right - she told her manager she was going to walk out of her shift because we were given the HH menu), and our request was accommodated for what was her mistake. Her Manger asked her to step outside and they had a conversation- I have no clue what was said or not said, but afterwards she came back in, and resumed work… BUT continued giving me dirty looks throughout my entire meal. As I mentioned before - our table was directly opposite the host stand and entrance. At the end of the meal, we were asked if we would like to have dessert, we agreed, and lo and behold, WHO obliged to bring the dessert menu to our table but the host - Nicole!!! At this point, over an hour had passed by, but she still came to our table with the menus and a terrible demeanour; for me, nothing short of shockingly rude and passive aggressive. One of the comments she made was, “I know you don’t want to talk to me, but here’s the dessert menu and I hope your day gets better because clearly it’s been terrible!”. This was said VERY sarcastically and felt more like a threat than customer service/etiquette. After this encounter/exchange, my friend and I both decided that it was getting progressively uncomfortable; and we decided to ask for the bill instead. Management was extremely professional and offered us a complimentary dessert - which was kind, but at this point we were ready to leave. It’s a shame, because overall it was a tasty meal, but after such a hostile and unpleasant interaction this complete ruined our experience. No one should have to be treated like that just for trying to dine out. This kind of unprofessionalism reflects very poorly on the restaurant as a whole. If management cares about their customers, they seriously need to evaluate who they’re trusting to be the face of their establishment. As we were leaving Nicole also offered to give us her last name for this review… 😂 Yes, her snarky attitude took it that far! Uncomfortable to say the least… Unprofessional to the maximum!!!

Google
Great experience there, the food and drinks were really good! We got the nuggets, which were also quite tasty, especially the sauce!! but disappointed by the small quantity of caviar. Felt a bit dupped considering how much they advertise, see photos and ig screenshot for comparison. Note: the girl dinner menu does NOT include the caviar add on. I would go again for sure though.

This place has great vibes. The food - especially the smash burger bar the Caesar salad - was really good. We also had a great waiter, Will, who was super attentive and friendly.

This place is taking social media by storm for their Girl Dinner and Happy Meal Special so I had to check it out! So the Happy Meal deal is for happy hour only Tuesday to Friday. I could not find this anywhere on their website. Girl dinner is all day everyday and inclusions are in the photo. Food: -Caesar salad 3/5 cheese overload but not a strong Caesar dressing. I like the chopped salad consistency. Would not order again. -Parmesan Truffle Fries: 3.5/5 again a lot of cheese. Very little truffle. It is a good French fry so I would order the regular in the future. Drink: Gracias Poncho 3.5/5 resembles pink lemonade. Atmosphere: most tables are two seaters. There are maybe 10 tables for 4 that can be pushed together. Visited on a Saturday night. It was a little loud but not full. Sat at the bar and service was good! No problems ordering anything

I drove down from Baltimore to check out the Lobby Bar, and I’m so glad I did. The vibe was exactly what I needed—chic, relaxed, and full of good energy. Dan, the manager, was amazing and went out of his way to make sure my experience was memorable. He really made me feel welcome. I’ll definitely be back soon to try the adult Happy Meal—I’ve been looking forward to it and can’t wait!

Google
Came in on the opening day and am truly blown away. The decor, the vibe, food, cocktails and staff were all absolutely on point. We tried a little bit of everything - the clothesline bacon,, shrimp cocktail, pigs in a blanket and the burger and lobby truffle buffalo wings were my favorite! Absolutely delicious. I will be back every week!

Google
Honestly, everything was amazing. Fee Fee and Kevin were fantastic bartenders and made our experience great. The only thing that felt a bit off was when, I assume, the owner ADAM approached. He stood at the bar top and then walked behind the bar to speak with one of the bartenders, seemingly about our bill. It came across as awkward and a little uncomfortable, especially since it happened in front of us. For a better guest experience, it might be more appropriate to handle those types of conversations privately, away from the customers.Other than that everything was great! Order the crab cakes !

Google
Totally worth the hype! I had seen The Lobby Bar’s adult happy meal on TikTok and knew I had to try it. I was skeptical because most places that are hyped up on social never seem to live up to the hype. This place is so not that! My bestie and I ordered one of each of the happy meal offerings - a double patty smash burger and the nuggets. Both were delicious. The food was hot and fresh. The nuggets were a decent size and so crispy. The juicy burger had onions and cheese and was on a pillowy soft bun. Oh, and the meals came with a glass of champagne - all for $31! Chef’s kiss 🤌🏾 Then there was Kevin, our bartender. He made us mezcal old fashions that were to die for. Kevin is as engaging and funny as he is attentive and thoughtful about each cocktail he crafts. I was having a not so good, very bad, terrible type of Thursday but The Lobby Bar turned it around. I’ll be back.

Yelp
Loved it! Stopped by just for drinks and ended up getting an appetizer because the menu looked so good. Food and cocktail were great. Awesome menu options, so will definitely be back for a full meal. Really cool vibe, very pretty, and nice ambience! Hostesses could have been nicer and they were relatively unhelpful, but had a very kind waitress who did a good job!

Yelp
Back again. This time for lunch and just as good as dinner last week. A lot of appetizers and great wedge salad with shrimp Of course a glass of wine to top things off Owner Adam came by to say hi and make sure everything was fine First class establishment

Yelp
I really wanted to love The Lobby Bar -- the space is undeniably charming and thoughtfully designed. It feels like an old-fashioned hotel lounge in the best way: warm lighting, vintage touches, a buzzy atmosphere. But unfortunately, the service didn't match the vibe. Our group of six had high hopes, but the experience fell short. Drinks arrived after our appetizers, and when our food came out, the server seemed unsure of who ordered what. No one checked in after entrées were served, and my $26 rigatoni arrived cold. A second glass of wine took over ten minutes and was also warm. I will say my first cocktail was delicious -- if I went back it might be to grab a beverage on the patio or at the bar, without dinner. It's clear they're aiming for trend-forward appeal, but the fundamentals -- service, timing, consistency -- weren't there yet. Hoping they can smooth things out, because the potential is definitely there.

Yelp
Worth the hype! I dined here on a Saturday evening last month. I made the reservation (for a group of 6) for 7:30pm 10 days prior. The majority of the group arrived on time (1 person was early) but we weren't seated for another 20 minutes. There isn't a large lobby area so a couple of us sat in chairs at a smaller table near the door but the hostesses did update us a few times. Once seated our sever (Will, I believe but I know his name started with a W and he was a pleasureee!) got our drinks ordered and gave good recommendations. We ordered a few appetizers across the table as well. To our surprise we were given a free appetizer (tartare) due to our wait! We truly appreciated the gesture. The tartare was new to some of us and it was pretty tasty but the chips were certainly the highlight. Because I wanted to try a lot, I did a split check. We had the Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket, Caesar salad, truffle Parmesan fries, and the McLobby nuggets. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! The pigs in a blanket were light and cooked well. The Caesar was dressed and cheesed perfectly. The fries amazing. And the nuggets were so bomb, they were spot on (but better) than that of their dupe...which is my favorite chicken nugget (even at my big age). I also tried a bit of someone else's rigatoni and it was delicious (came be ordered w/ or w/o protein). Anddd the Brussels were good. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu or their cocktails. The strawberry fields was *chef's kiss*...I'll be back!

Yelp
We went because of the Girl Dinner platter. We ended up putting together our own version of the platter. We got the Cobb salad. It didn't have egg yolk which would have made it more tasty but it was really good. The nuggets are pretty good. I just don't like honey mustard. I wish there was another dipping sauce option. The fries were good but I wish they were a bit crispier. I ended up getting a couple of cocktails off the menu and they were tasty. Service was fine. I think the price point warranted better service. We would have loved to sit outside but the outdoor seating isn't covered or anything. The front window tables are VERY bright in the afternoon.

Yelp
Decent spot with some ups and downs I stopped by Lobby Bar in DC today and didn't realize it was right around the corner from Eastern Market. That turned out to be both a blessing and a curse -- the blessing was being able to browse the outdoor market; the curse was hunting for parking on a busy market day. If you go when the vendors are out, definitely plan ahead for parking. The atmosphere was inviting, and for some reason, I half-expected it to be in a hotel lobby (maybe because of the name). Customer service was friendly, but the pace was extremely slow. We only ordered appetizers, yet my friend's food came out well before mine, so we didn't get to eat together. We were seated at the bar, and it looked like tables were getting food faster -- possibly because the one bartender was handling both bar patrons and drinks for the whole restaurant. Food-wise: McNuggets - Homemade, tasty, a little too salty for me but overall good. Truffle Parmesan Fries - Flavorful and worth ordering. Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket - Just okay; my friend wasn't convinced it was actually Wagyu, but we'll take the menu's word for it. Mac & Cheese - Unfortunately, not edible in our opinion. Would I recommend it? Yes -- mainly for the location, decent food options, and the ease of walking in without a reservation. I might give it another try, but I'd say this is a "try it for yourself" kind of place.

Yelp
My experience was pretty okay. The shrimp cocktail was amazing, the shrimp was very fresh and the sauce was very tasty. My friend ordered the devil eggs and both came out pretty quickly. The girl dinner was just okay to me. Our martinis came first and we were told when ordering, both martinis had to be exactly the same. If one wanted an extra dirty martini, both had to be extra dirty. No drink substitutions. I did also order a French 75 which tasted off to me, so I was not a fan of the drinks. It took a while for that portion of our meal to come. We had asked for the cheese on the side, and when the food finally came, we received regular fries instead of truffle fries. We had brought this up to the waitress and she said, since we had asked for everything on the side, the chef assumed we wanted regular fries.? She said she would bring us an order of truffle fries and proceeded to bring us a side of truffle oil. Dipping the fries in the oil definitely impacted the experience. Overall I feel like the girl dinner meal was just okay. Great if you want to try the experience and say that you did it, but I don't think I'd wind up coming back to try this again.

Yelp
Saw cool Instagram reels with this restaurant and decided to visit. Really cute spot. Not crazy busy. Nice atmosphere. Lots of 30-40 year olds hanging out. Bar was busy. Tables not so much but the host said they all reserved. Ok ! Service was good. Good was good i really wanted the orange glass with orange vivo clique serving decor but the bartender said it's for happy hour only. I can take a glass for a photo. Ok! Food: shrimp cocktail was ok. Nothing great though. Wings were ovoid size but no seasoning. I think buffalo sauce was a little different from usual. Yellow tail crude was delicious. I think the place a bit too hyped up. Atmosphere is def great. If you in the mood for swanky dc spot def visit

Yelp
The Lobby Bar was a ...if you are a DC native, a Capitol Hill spot. Under 30, HILL staffers etc spot. The service was great, cannot say enough about our young 20ish curly hair server who worked to please us. The food was good...however, we had to send back our initial serving of fried cauliflower..initial batch was burnt beyond repair. Chicken was cooked but not crispy as requested. The Tuna tartar was slap your momma delicious. The ambience was yuppie...but clearly a Friday meeting spot for hill staffers. If out of. FRIDAY...a good spot to meet and discuss the issues of the day...Parking seemed to be available...we took uber...which i would rexommend....drinks were good and reasonably priced....and they were able to make drinks not on the menu.

Yelp
Here is my review after visiting this place twice! The decor is beautiful. The decor was hand picked by the GM of the restaurant and he did such an amazing job. From the main floor to the bathroom. Everything is so beautiful and unique. I absolutely loved the cozy feel of the entire restaurant. The food was really good! Everything was super yummy! I highly recommend the smash burger, chicken pot pie, as well as the spicy rigatoni! The chicken sandwich was good, but could definitely use a sauce with a little kick. The espresso martini was probably the best espresso martini I've ever had! My only complaint is the lack of the beans. The beans have traditional significance and meaning. The service overall was great the first night! The second night wasn't bad, but our waitress kept forgetting our drinks. Overall, it did not ruin our experience and we will most definitely come back again!

Yelp
Inside the old Boxcar Tavern space in Eastern Market is Lobby Bar. Boxcar Tavern's red decor was switched out for greens. Although still dim, the space is a tad brighter than dark Boxcar Tavern. My friend and I popped in on a Monday evening for drinks only. We got a booth right away and before we knew it, the server was taking our orders. The drink menu comes with draft beer, wine, four martinis, and four cocktails. My friend ordered The Great Caper Martini with caper brine and capers at the bottom. It comes with Blanc Vermouth, which is a bit more sweet. He found the combo of sweeter vermouth and caper jarring. He almost didn't finish it. I ordered the "Gracias Poncho," a sweeter drink with tequila, lychee, dragon fruit syrup, and lime. I enjoyed the bright color and the sweetness, but it's not a complex cocktail. We didn't order food, but the menu includes burgers, sandwiches, salmon, mac and cheese, chicken pot pie, and a few other comfort items.

Yelp
Back for a 6th (maybe 7th?.. possibly 8th....) time with another group of friends. They loved it !! They ordered items we'd never had and we got to try them. Deviled eggs, the nuggets, the pigs in a blanket, and to have these foods prepared in such an elevated way just continues to be very impressive !! Saw all of our "friends" who remembered us, and as per usual the owner is there with eyes on everything. So excited for a legit watering hole in the neighborhood !

Yelp
Long awaited and happily received. Lobby Bar is a great addition to the neighborhood with amazing drinks and delicious food. Our party loved the burger and salad - would return to try other things. The caper martini is unmatched!

Yelp
The food was really good--I especially enjoyed the crab dip andthe Old Bay salmon and i added the truffle fries my date had the Caesar salad and the salmon has well salmon was cooked perfectly, just like the menu described, with a deliciously crispy skin that added a nice texture. The service was just as impressive. Our waiter was very attentive, and even the staff who brought out the food were on point. Anytime I asked for an extra sauce or anything else, they brought it quickly without hesitation. The setup of the place was nice too. I liked the TVs framed like artwork--it gave the space a modern, upscale vibe. My date even said that's the exact kind of TV she wants for her house! As someone who's a bit of a germaphobe, the bathroom experience was a big deal for me--and they passed with flying colors. I was able to wash my hands and exit without touching anything, which is always a win in my book. Can't wait to return to Lobby Bar and explore more of the menu!

Yelp
Saw a lot of footage about this new bar and so I went to check it out. I got there around 5pm with no reservation yet was able to sit at the bar straight away. I ordered the steak frites which were cooked perfectly. The fries were crispy and the sauce on the steak was tasty. No notes. I ordered the clothesline bacon- which was really yummy too. The reason I kept debating whether to give 3 or 4 stars was because of the drink. It was un-drinkable. Way too much lime forward to the point it was too acidic and I literally couldn't stomach it. It's new and this place has potential.

Yelp
The cocktails, ambiance, and service were truly exceptional. A close friend recommended the place to me this morning, and I managed to stop by for an early dinner. The pigs in a blanket were delicious, comforting, crispy, and flavorful. The cheese sauce that came with them, however, felt a bit off. Thankfully, our server brought out spicy mustard in under a minute, and it paired perfectly with the dish. The "classic Caesar salad" was unfortunately underwhelming. I added salmon, which was cooked to absolute perfection, moist, flaky, and well-seasoned. But the salad itself fell flat. Either mine was an outlier, or the restaurant doesn't use any anchovies or Worcestershire in the dressing. Without those, the flavor lacked the depth and umami you expect from a Caesar. I realize that might sound picky, but I had high hopes and was left with what felt like an average salad. That said, I'll definitely be back. There's a lot to love here, and they've only been open for two months, I fully expect the menu and execution will keep evolving. Here's hoping the Caesar dressing is one of the things they revisit.

Yelp
Extremely cute spot! The vibey outdoor seating caught my eye on a summer's day but we opted for indoors because of the heat. The decor and ambience inside were so good too, and service was great. I really enjoyed the salmon crudo and hope to be back soon!

Yelp
Such a cool hole in the wall spot! I recommend getting there before 5:30pm to sit at the bar. The food is great and the drinks are delicious! The Girl Dinner is a must!

Yelp
breath of fresh air!!! much-needed cocktail and non-too-obnoxious food menu for this area of the city. try the grip it (or your own preferred shaken cocktail) and the tuna tartare! i'm here about weekly since they opened - the place offers an excellent local family feel while still keeping it classy. most of the time i'm there, for better or worse, the owner is on the scene, making sure staff and diners are all having a great experience. lobby bar, stick around pls!

Yelp
Abysmal service from one hostess (blonde, working July 9th) -- in the middle of a torrential downpour, no less. Not in a rush to go back, but happy to update this review if I return. Other diners exiting said it wasn't worth the wait. That said, if you find yourself in the area and can walk in with no wait or make a reservation, give it a shot. There are plenty of other lovely options nearby with amazing service.

Great menu, great atmosphere ! Upscale bar/ restaurant located in the Eastern Market neighborhood Give it a try...

Yelp
Nothing made me say wow but it was a chill vibe. Our waitress was polite and personable. We ordered oysters, chicken nuggets with caviar and some fries and that was enough for two. For drinks, I liked the gracias poncho but wish it was stronger. I don't think I'd go back but it's a solid neighborhood bar.

Yelp
Happy hour just got happier with Lobby Bar's "Adult Happy Meal"! Such a cute experience and perfect way to remanence with colleagues and friends. The ambience is quaint and the staff is accommodating. The food is fresh and flavorful! The Adult Happy Meal comes with a choice of McLobby Nuggets, burger, or chicken sandwich. I opted for the burger and my friend got the McLobby nuggets. I'll be honest here, the fun of it all is the packaging but the food is pretty tasty lol The burger was made medium well with a delicious rendition of McDonald's sauce and layering technique. The pickles were on the bottom- SpongeBob would approve of this patty lol The McLobby nuggets are made with freshly grounded chicken (the quality was there!) I had such a great time, and did I mention the Adult Happy Meal comes with champagne? They nailed it! I also enjoyed the oysters which were fresh and flavorful. The happy hour special has oysters for $1. I'll be back for happy hour to try the chicken sandwich, another round of oysters, and perhaps I'll stick around for dinner! Tik tok: @jasephsfavs

Yelp
Entering the lobby bar creates a feeling of a cozy haven from the busy city streets. The interior immediately establishes a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Two friendly hostesses greeted and sat us at a comfortable table, allowing us to admire the elegant bar and decor. Our server was spot on and the food was exceptional!! We'll be back : )))

Yelp
What a welcome addition to eastern market. We came opening night and I can't wait to go back. It's classy without being pretentious. The food was great all at a reasonable price. Service was excellent which is rare on an opening night. If you're in the area it's a must do!

Yelp
I love the atmosphere and the decor. The food is incredible. Had a few different things from the menu and everything tasted so amazing. I've never had bar food like this before. Everything about this place is elevated. I'll be coming back for m

Yelp
Cool spot opposite Eastern Market! Love the casual feel that meshes perfectly with a touch of sophistication. Outstanding cocktail options and a bar menu that features amazing appetizers that can be the whole meal, or step into the entrees for some delicious full size plates. I had the chicken pot pie and it was definitely one of the better preparations of this dish. I'd say it's perfect for a date or small gathering of friends. Finally the staff is outstanding - you feel cared for and appreciated.

Yelp
I went to Lobby Bar for my birthday today. The food was really good. I got the Adult Happy Meal, and while I expected a little more based on what I saw on social media, it still tasted great. Just a heads-up if you're going: the caviar is an upcharge, which I didn't realize, but that was on me for not checking the menu. Nicole, the hostess, was honestly the best part of the experience. She was so sweet and helpful the entire time. I had a hard time getting to my waitress, but Nicole stepped in without hesitation. She answered my questions, checked in with me, and even brought a candle with my meal to help make my birthday feel special. She was more attentive than anyone else, and I really appreciated her kindness. Thanks to Nicole, the day still felt special and fun.

Yelp
We put a reservation in at 6 pm and did not get a "your table is ready" text until 950 pm. We checked in multiple times with the hostess and we told each time that the wait time was 1 hr and 45 min. Clearly every time that we checked in the time got longer and longer. The hostesses tried their best to be patient explain so this is nothing against them. The restaurant needs to stop overbooking!

Everything about Lobby Bar was on point. The food was great and you could tell a lot of care went into creating the menu. The service was great and the ambiance was even better. Definitely a place I'd go regularly.

Yelp
Love it!!! Lobby bar is the greatest new addition in Capitol Hill with the delicious food and craft cocktails. Service was great and the people are all friendly even when busy:) we loved the vibe of the restaurant too with the pretty decor and booths. Recommend

Yelp
So glad we've got something re-opening here in the former Boxcar space. A really solid gimlet, and an equally solid steak frite. Only minus? It's *really* loud inside at 8 or 9 in the evening. Probably a good sign for a great opening, but I'd have preferred to be in the very few outdoor seats. Still a great choice and a welcome addition to Eastern Market!

Yelp
Second time back, it was as good as the first! The hosts, Anna, Nicole, and Sam were awesome! Super friendly and attentive. Our server, Sydney was amazing. She had great reccs and was super knowledgeable regarding the menu. Vibes were on point, as were the drinks. I recommend making a res, especially during happy hour. 5/5.

Yelp
Went to lunch at the Lobby Bar after seeing a piece on Channel 5 and reading reviews. We thought it was excellent . The food was extremely tasty and the presentation first class. There was something on the menu to suit everyone in our party and their dietary needs. The ahi tuna, bacon , crab dip and chicken nuggets with caviar appetizers were all great. The salads we had and crab cakes (no filler) were perfect. I don't agree with the negative reviews which I felt didn't give a new restaurant time to find itself and make adjustments and we had no issues. The atmosphere was clubby and made you feel right at home on Capitol Hill. Highly recommend

Yelp
Oh dear.....this place isn't gonna make it. $15 for two deviled eggs???!!! And they weren't even good. Ugh. The bar staff doesn't even know how to make an extra dry martini.....way too much vermouth. The wedge salad was alright except for the fact that the there was a lot of hard pork belly skin. I'd bet this place will be gone in less than a year unless the owner figures out how to get it together. Been here twice......first and last.

Yelp
This place is great. The ambiance is cool, warm and inviting. It's so much more than just a bar, the food menu is amazing! But so are the cocktails! Service was top notch and everyone was super friendly! Definitely will be back to try the rest of the menu!

Yelp
Came back for the second time and it was even better! Try the burger with red wine onions and Brie - ohh la la

Yelp
First time hitting up the Lobby Bar for dinner--there were 8 of us, and we're already planning the next visit. Total new gem on Capitol Hill! I'd send anyone in the DC area here if you're looking to treat yourself. The menu? Packed with solid picks. We shared the chicken nuggets, hanging bacon (seriously unreal), crab dip, deviled eggs, and hamachi. All hits. I went for the crab cake and loved it, but some folks at the table swore the filet stole the show. The food and the vibe were both spot-on--chic but still chill and welcoming. Service was top-tier too. Adam, the owner-manager, came by to check on us. You can tell they actually care about the experience, which is rare these days. Bottom line: we'll be back. This place is the real deal. Capitol Hill's got a new go-to.

Yelp
Truly, an amazing concept. Fabulous food, fabulous decor, a real winner and a must stop if you're in Washington DC.

Yelp
Came in with some friends to try girl dinner and it was perfect! We decided to move to the bar after eating and the bartenders Joe and Kevin took great care of us. Overall the service was amazing and the food was spectacular, will definitely be back.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to a nice dinner - but the place is so noisy! Young Hill staff after a few drinks get so loud that is is impossible to enjoy dinner and conversation. Food was good - I likesd the crabcake but the noise made us rush so it spoiled the experience.

Yelp
Have been twice recently and both times it was a great experience. Great drinks, great service, fun atmosphere. Staff, including our server, Lake, were attentive, funny, and engaging. Nicole, the hostess, does a good job of setting a nice tone for the place to be both an inviting neighborhood bar at the same time as being a good restaurant.

Yelp
Sterling food, lunch starring a smashburger and a chicken sandwich, with a pile of crispy thin fries. Cozy atmosphere and a chanteuse or two on the playlist. The bistro the neighborhood has been waiting for.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place so much. However, before we even arrived at the restaurant we had issues. I attempted calling the restaurant at least 5 times to update a reservation but no one picked up. If you're going to list a phone number pick up the phone or provide an option to leave a message. I also sent an email and no response. When we arrived the vibes were great and we were seated right away. We had a party of four and for some reason they only provided three waters with us having to ask multiple times. If you want to scream while dining this is the place for you it is LOUD. On to the food... We started with shrimp cocktail and cauliflower bites. Both were sub par. I ordered a burger that was extremely dry and damp fries. My friends ordered the girl dinner which consisted of overcooked chicken nuggets. The macaroni and cheese came straight from a box. I wanted to like the drinks but again it was all very meh and rushed almost. Service was hard to flag down. Maybe they are going through a learning patch but it truly was a very below the bar experience.

Yelp
First of all, I had a fun evening at Lobby Bar, at the bar. I wait to try new places so they can get their groove and the Lobby Bar was busy and lively on a Saturday evening. Sam the bartender was engaging and got the locals at the full bar chatting. My martinis were just as I ordered and the vibe was good. The "letdown" was the food service. My shrimp cocktail and fries appeared loss in the hustle. Sam sent the bar back to check after martini #1 and he returned with a plate of luke warm fries and some sad looking cocktail shrimp...definitely not like the glamour shot pictures, lol. My wings came out fine later. Lobby Bar fills a gap in the Eastern Market scene. In all, a fun evening and I'll be back again.

Yelp
Adorable and great decor, and maybe they'll figure it out, but for a place that was supposed to be great at martinis, they were...awful. Didn't prechill the glass, only stirred for 3 seconds, don't use a fine strainer to keep the ice fragments out. That's fine if you're at a pub, but not if you're at somewhere with four feature martinis. The capers martini was also too salty which I thought might just be my taste, but my neighbor offered the same opinion unsolicited...didn't finish it.

Yelp
The Lobby Bar feels like a scene straight out of a New York movie. Sophisticated, moody, and effortlessly cool. The ambiance is unmatched, the martinis are perfect, and the food is just as impressive. Don't skip the nuggets with caviar...they're next-level.
