Lobstah On A Roll Review - South End - Boston - The Infatuation

"Lobstah On A Roll is a small counter-service spot that, judging by its name, apparently dreamt of being one of those stalls in Faneuil Hall and had to settle for a location in a South End rowhouse instead. Despite the ever-annoying spelling of the Boston accent, this place makes a really good lobster roll - several of them in fact, available either cold with mayo or hot with butter and in a bunch of different sizes. They have things like chowder and bisque, too, but you’re coming here for one of the better rolls in the city that differentiates itself with a big brioche bun." - Dan Secatore

Lobstah on a Roll is a must-visit for seafood lovers! Their lobster roll was absolutely incredible—packed with fresh, sweet lobster meat, just the right amount of seasoning and a buttery soft bun. Easily one of the best I’ve had in Boston! The clam chowder had great flavor, but it could have been a bit warmer. That said, the overall experience was fantastic. The service was friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home in the cutest quaint space. If you’re craving a top-tier lobster roll with excellent service, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back!

We ordered takeout so this review is based solely on the food we received and not service. We ate it 10min away so the food was still warm and fresh. We ordered a new Englander, clam chowdah, and the fish box. The lobster roll was okay overall. The roll was nice and soft and had a slight sweetness that went well with the lobster. The lobster itself felt very firm and chewy. We got the $2 extra butter but felt like it didn't add too much so it wasn't necessary. The clam chowdah was thin and didn't feel substantial in terms of fillings. Overall a bit bland as well. The fish in the fish box was juicy, flaky and had a crunchy exterior, which was nice but also felt under salted. I'm not sure if we were supposed to grab our own tartar sauce or if it was forgotten, but it probably would have been much better if I had a tarter sauce with it.

HORRIBLE! DON’T COME HERE!! They spilled burning out soup all over my friend’s pants and hand, and he had to walk around with an ice pack. We fully had to ask them for an ice pack. Also, the food was not good. My least favorite lobster roll (fully found a small piece of bone in mine). It wasn’t flavorful and the texture was too chewy. The clam chowder was too thick, and I wanted more flavor.

April 30, 2024 - Day one of my East Coast trip. The bestie and I were staying locally to go watch our SF Giants play Boston at Fenway, so on our walk from the hotel to the stadium we stopped here. Two (Bostonian) lobster rolls, added the hot butter cups (definitely necessary), two cups of clam chowdah. I can't say it was the best I've ever had, it's decent. But for the price (Over $25per person) slightly disappointed overall... I didn't have any leftovers, that's saying a lot about portion sizes here. I'm not in Boston often, but probably would skip this place and try elsewhere next time I visit. Great customer service and atmosphere, just over priced and not the best quality, for what you get.

Google
This place was great! It's located on Newbury Street in the heart of lots of great shops, boutiques, and restaurants. It's super casual. You walk in and seat yourself. I was thoroughly impressed by the menu.. they had some really unique options on there like lobster ramen and they had a lot of non seafood choices as well such as cheesesteaks, chicken parm, pastas, burgers, and chicken sandwiches. I ordered the clam chowder on a cold Boston day, it was delicious (some of the best I've ever had). I also got the lobster grilled cheese, it was really good as well and came with fries. My suggestion for the lobster grilled cheese is using a different cheese instead of cheddar (like a gouda or guyere) I feel like it would really elevate the sandwich (in my opinion). Overall, great pick for a casual lunch -not fancy.

Google
I got the Bostonian lobster roll and a bowl of clam chowder and that was the perfect amount of food! The lobster is far and away the star of the show and perfectly tender and fresh! Thanks Meli!

Google
Ordered lobster rolls and clam chowder. Food was okay, lobster was chewy and everything was too salty that we couldn't finish our food. The clam chowder would be perfect if it had half of the salt in it. And it was overpriced. The rolls were $38 and $45.

Google
Lobstah on a roll is located in the heart of Newbury Street, with outdoor and indoor dining options. The service was very good. They brought our food out in a timely manner and made sure our meal was to our perfection. They walked us through the menu and even helped us through with a discount we had gotten. The atmosphere is nice. The outdoor dining has some umbrella overhangs to protect against the sun, though it does have a bit of a cramped space on the outdoor dining in the street. The food is exceptional. I got the clam strips with fries, which were fried lightly and had a good seasoning on the fries. We also tried the lobster roll, which was ok for the price, but tasted really good. The clam chowder and lobster bisque was good as well. The clam chowder was a little thick but still smooth enough to taste great with crackers. Overall a wonderful place for a quick bite on newbury street.

Yelp
Love this place. It was my first time there earlier this week. Very reasonable prices and very filling. Portion sizes for sandwiches are great. The host was very friendly, and loved the vibe. Knowing it's in Newbury Street, I was sort of expecting a pretentious, upscale, snooty type of establish at firstZ Far from it, it felt as if it's a fisherman's spot by a marina. The blue string lights bordering the ceiling made the place really cool looking. The neon light decoration and when it comes to dining, they get an A+ for super large napkins. I'm the type of person that normally would go through 10+ napkins at most places. The big 2 napkins they gave we like paper hand towels and lasted me the whole time. Ordered the fish sandwich, was done well. Also had the lobster bisque, and the clam strips with fries. Love shoestring fries which I'm glad they gave. Big bonus: larger squeeze bottles of ketchup providing, and they also have malt vinegar. When I want my ketchup, trust me, I want my ketchup. Clam strips had a nice batter and tartar sauce was delicious. My only critique is the lobster bisque is quite thick and heavy. I was expecting a lighter, runnier version. But it's perfect on a winter's day and you get your fill's worth. The cup was more than enough for it. Looking forward to trying the clam chowder, and my favorite dessert: key lime pie (I was just too full for that one sitting).

Yelp
Since I was in Boston. I'd thought it would be fitting to try their Bostonian Lobster roll and White Chowdah. The roll is 4oz of meat. Nothing too crazy. Good portion if you're planning to go and eat other things. Bread was toasted perfectly. Even with takeout it stayed warm. The chowdahhhh. It was THICK. Not sure if that's a Boston thing? but boy having to slurp down that soup that's thicker than gravy will definitely put some meat on your bones. A bit much for my taste but some may like it!? If this was your only spot to hit up that day/night and you a big boy such as I am. I would op out to get the bigger one. Bostonian is "aite" size ya know?

Yelp
Yes, the hot butter New England lobster roll was delicious! This is the experience you are expecting when you're in the area. The Lobstah Grilled cheese was a savory treat too. The place is quaint, small with limited seating and is reminiscent of a mom and pop shop full of character. Super casual and service was friendly. It was a Sunday afternoon and squeezing through to get an outdoor table along the sidewalk was tight but still available. Both of my sandwiches were loaded with large chunks of lobster. Super buttery goodness. The grilled cheese was packed with mouth watering calories. This is a good alternative if you've had enough of the classic lobster roll. The only downside really is the price but hey, I've never seen a cheap lobster roll. On the fence? Got off and get here. This is the place!

Yelp
Let's start with the customer service: They had good customer service. They greeted upon entry, helpful with the menu, cleaned the water off the chairs and tables outside from the rain. No complaints about the customer service. Lobster roll: When the roll first arrived, I thought oh wow now this looks delicious with look at all of this lobster. The roll was good; however, after eating a few bites, I chewed a small piece of shell. Okay no problem I'll just spit that out and continue to eat. A few more bites later, another small shell piece. Okay right now I'm getting annoyed. So now I'm cautiously eating and not able to truly enjoy the food. Kept on eating. A few bites later and I had a huge pieces of shell in my mouth and I'm now I'm pissed *insert expletive*. Not only am I pissed about the huge shell piece, but a piece of it went in between my teeth and later I could taste the blood from my gums. So I then took all the lobster out of the roll to ensure there were no remaining shell pieces and to my surprise, that was the last piece. Clam chowder: This was the first time that I could say since I've been in Boston and I've had clam chowder every day on my trip (a few days) that the clam chowder wasn't good. The consistency was slightly different and the taste was off so I didn't eat half of what I ordered. Overall, if it hadn't been for all of those shell pieces, I might have enjoyed the roll a little more. Definitely didn't like the clam chowder so my entire experience was just okay.

Yelp
I was craving a hot lobster roll during Boston marathon weekend and found this place a short walk from my hotel. I ordered ahead on Grubhub and started my nice stroll down to Newbury. I was tracking my order and it finally said "ready" but when I arrived they had no order for me! I showed them my receipt and they double and triple checked but no order. The lady was kind enough to put my order together in about 10 minutes. I was relieved! The hot lobster roll was just perfection. Nice, buttery roll. Plenty of lobster chunks. Great melted butter. I also ordered the lobster Mac n cheese. It took me 3 meals to eat it all! They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outside was busy, the inside less busy. The place is really cozy inside with plenty of seating. They have the huge menu on the wall when you walk in. There is also a bathroom near the counter where you order.

Yelp
it's giving a fast food vibe but the quality of the food is really good. very yummy. great service.

Yelp
If you're in the area and craving a lobster roll, this is a solid place! Our waiter was friendly and welcoming. This is a casual place to enjoy a nice meal, and i've been several times already. The lobster roll (tried both cold as well as buttered) is a decent amount of meat and delicious! I tried the ramen as well and it was perfect for a cold evening.

Yelp
This restaurant is small but the food is good! They do have a small patio for outdoor seating and indoor you have to go down the steps to an underground/garden level restaurant. Inside there is a chalkboard menu and decor is pretty simple. We ordered two lobster rolls - one with hot butter and one cold with mayo. The lobster rolls were delicious, it's straight up lobster in a roll! I did observe that these rolls are filled with only lobster claw meat, which was tasty and still sufficient, but I have also been to other restaurants that stuff the rolls with meat from the lobster tail as well. My only complaint would be that I wish these rolls came with a side of chips/fries and/or pickles/slaw.

Yelp
Winner winner for a lobster roll on newbury st that is affordable and PACKED! The cold lobster roll had more than the hot one so I'm going to recommend the cold lobster roll! Our table had a mixture of all the lobsters they offered and it was delicious. Lobster tacos lobster ramen etc. the ambiance on the patio is great if you can score a seat there. Inside is great too just underground.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! I was in Boston for only the weekend. I came here Saturday for lunch....then again for dinner right before they closed! Family owned - yet freaking amazing! Next time I'm in Boston I will definitely have my feet under their table!!

Yelp
Highly recommend if you're shopping on Newberry Street! We dropped by on a cold, rainy day craving our first lobster roll to commemorate our trip. It's a small place with a digital menu on the left side of the restaurant. I ordered a lobster roll (to share) and a clam chowder. I have to say, the lobster roll was fire! The brioche was soft and buttery with the perfect crisp on the outside. The lobster was warm and when dipped or drenched in the butter....there's no words. The chowder was silky and creamy with an abundance of clams within. This place definitely hits the spot!

Yelp
I have to preface this by saying, I have never had a lobster roll. I am also a visitor from Texas, take that as you will. I was staying in the area and was told by a coworker to "Stay away from Lukes". I don't think it was about the food, he just mentioned something about New York and I quit listening. I walked in and was looking at the menu board when the waitress walked up and asked if I were dining in or wanted takeout. I told her I would like to sit outside and she handed me a menu and said she would be right out. It had rained overnight and most of the tables and chairs were wet. I found one that was dry, but the table had not been cleaned. I ordered the Bostonian and clam chowder. They have two options, one with mayo and one without. I ordered without. I am unreasonable in my distaste for mayo. The chowder comes with oyster crackers. It came out first and was tasty. Full of clams and very thick. The temperature was not hot. It was perfect to eat immediately, I just prefer soups stews chowders to be hot. The lobster was perfectly cooked. So tender. And just covered in butter. The lobster was buttery, the roll was buttery, and they gave you a little cup of butter if that was not enough. It was more than enough for me. There is no seasoning on it, it isn't even salted butter. The star of the show is the lobster and the sweet roll. The service was nice, I loved sitting and people watching outside, and the price point seemed very fair. I can now say I have been to Boston and got a Lobstah Roll.

Yelp
This lobster roll was so so good!! Small quaint place so be sure to have time readily available for them to prepare your meal. Service was great too. Next time I'm in Boston, I'm trying the New Englander.

Yelp
Came here during the eclipse (around 2-3pm), and it was nice to sit outside and feel the vibes of everyone walking around trying to catch a (safe) glimpse! Service/ambiance: Definitely a casual place. There are only a couple of tables outside, but we were lucky to grab a spot! The fish and chips were meant to come with onion rings, so the server brought them in addition to the fries without charge. Definitely appreciated that! Food: That lobster roll was absolutely delicious - I still think about it. For the amount I paid, I was glad that it came with a ton of lobster! The roll was buttery and held its structure through every bite. The onion rings and fried fish could have used a better batter though. The breading was coming off the onion ring with each bite, and the fish wasn't crispy at all. Good taste though! The lobster roll was one of my favorite bites in Boston. Definitely the star of the meal/restaurant!

Yelp
Clam Chowder has a weird after taste and they didn't have crackers! Not returning to this establishment.

Yelp
Quick service and good food. We tried a few things and everyone loved it. We had lobster roll, wicked fish sandwich and lobster grilled cheese.

Yelp
Adorable little spot & I highly recommend the rolls!!!! Came in from out of town on a mission to eat a lobster roll and we showed up right before the kitchen closed :( but the lovely guy working asked the kitchen to add our order in last minute and it was a success!!! The roll was heavenly and so tasty. A must try if you're in the Back Bay area!

Yelp
This is where the visitors go to check the box for their "lobster roll" experience. I would totally skip. Take an Uber and travel further beyond the beaten path. Way overpriced even for lobster.
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
This place smells so bad. Right when you walk in it smells like a combination of feet and seafood. It's in the basement of a Newbury street building so there isn't much light or airflow. The walls are decorated with crayon colored pictures of printed out lobsters. There are a few tables and the place is pretty dirty. We were helped right away and they took our order and brought our food out fast. My lobster roll was packed with meat and I didn't even get the larger one, I got the Bostonian. The roll was excellent and it came with hot butter. I took advantage of the yell check in and got a clam chowder which was okay but lacking in meat. The lobster rolls were definitely the highlight and I wouldn't come here for the ambiance. Would come for the rolls themselves and possibly take them out as the place smells horrible.
google avatar

Alvin T.

Yelp
A fast casual joint on Newbury Street that sells your classic lobster rolls for the same premium price everywhere else with a fraction of the food quality. Everything I ordered here just seemed off--the clam chowder tasted old and sour, like it's been sitting there for days. The onion rings were so oily that it could likely fuel a vehicle, or give you an upset stomach. And the lobster roll was just very meh amongst a sea of other good lobster roll restaurants in the city. You are likely to fulfill your seafood/lobster roll cravings anywhere other than this place.

Yelp
Tiny casual hole in the wall with delish lobster roll with melted butter. Bread was perfect. Just what I needed on a rainy chilly day.

Yelp
Food was fresh and tasted great. Large potions. Service was quick and patio seating was nice.

Yelp
Went on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and wifey was still hungry and has been craving for a lobster roll. Seemed like they only had 1 server for the whole place and you could tell he wasn't in the greatest of moods. The set up is waited tables, they should switch it to counter service instead if they have staffing issues. The outside patio was nice, a little tight but that's to be expected on newbury. Inside it smelled like a sewer or bathroom, we sat outside but when I went to get the check from the server it did not smell pleasant. For the food, I got a cup of chowder that I couldn't eat. It was spoiled, I took one bite and spit it out. The onion rings were fine, a touch greasy but nothing to complain about. The main show, the lobster roll was fine as quoted from wifey. There were chunks of knuckle and claw meat but lacked any real seasoning. Similar to other reviews, the lobster is kinda on top of the split bun instead of really knit. The bread was a nice brioche but the lobster would fall out after every other bite. This lobstah roll is not a spot I would go out of my way to hit up. There are others who have more value for the lobster roll and edible clam chowders.

Nadine V.

Yelp
First time in Boston and found this place strolling on Newbury Street. very small and unassuming. a bit pricier than I anticipated but wasn't sure what to expect on cost and split the lobster roll with a friend so it wasn't terrible. we got there before a rush of people came in so we were promptly served.

Yelp
Good service and food. Simple menu. Exactly as the name implies. Simple place no frills, located in basement. Good lobster. Would eat here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect quaint little place we found while walking. The chowder was awesome. I had a burger and it was ok. My sister said the lobster roll was great as was the lobster bisque.
google avatar

Yelp
My boyfriend and I both got lobster rolls from Lobstah On A Roll. I got the Bostonian- warm (bottom) and he got the New Englander- cold (top). They were both delicious. We especially liked the buttery bun as well as the chunks of lobster. Overall, a solid lobster roll. The fries were average. Service was great. Our server was great. She was super friendly and attentive. The ambiance was okay. They have a cute outdoor patio area, but the inside doesn't feel so inviting. You are in a basement and don't forget that. A little awkwardly quiet and nothing too fancy. I would say the food and service make up for it though.
google avatar

Yelp
Kind of a small restaurant, but very good food and at a decent price. Not much of a crowd so service was fast and attentive. Highly recommend the lobster roll!

Yelp
Lobstah on a Roll was so good we came back a second time! This is located on Newbury St, in a part of Boston that immediately reminded me of Soho NYC. I was pleased to see that this restaurant is run by fellow Koreans. It was the weekend but it wasn't busy and service was great. They were out of the clam chowdah the first night we went but it was available the next night when we returned to order takeout. We ordered two Lobstah rolls (one hot with butter and the other cold with mayo) and a side of onion rings to share. The lobster was nicely cooked, smothered in mayo and butter, and nestled inside a toasted bun. Both the mayo and butter were savory yet not overpowering, which was perfect. Like some reviews mentioned, the portion sizes of the rolls are on the smaller side compared to the price tag but it was what we expected. The onion rings were completely underwhelming, lacking in salt, and had inconsistent texture (on each onion ring, some parts were soggy and other parts were crispy but none was perfect). The clam chowdah had a good chunky consistency with very few pieces of clam but it had decent flavor and it was free so I can't complain. 4 stars for the delicious lobster rolls, free chowder, and good customer service but I would avoid everything else on the menu.

Yelp
YUM!! It's been years since being in Boston & boy did I miss the food! Chilly spring day, grabbed a table on the patio. The clam 'chowda' is AMAZING! As thick as gravy with plenty of clams & lots of creamy potatoes. No need for oyster crackers with this chowda! I should have stopped there but it was my 1st meal & I wanted a lobster roll dang it! So I pushed on & was so excited when I got my 'Bostonian lobsta roll' (4oz of lobster vs 6oz) with hot butter. It was amazing even cold!! I only say that because it was shady, windy & 50 degrees! The food obviously cools down pretty quick, no fault of theirs. I was STUFFED but there's no way in HEthat this Midwestern girl was going was to waste so I skipped most of the bread & ate ALL the lobster! It was sooooo good!! The service was a bit slow, but they were packed, & I'm pretty sure there was only 1, MAYBE 2 waitresses. Regardless, she was super nice & as attentive as possible while being pulled in a million different ways. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
Was craving a Lobster Roll during my quick trip to Boston, and I was doing a little shopping on Newbury street, so I quickly looked around for a good Lobster roll location. The location itself is a little hard to find, and I have to admit I was a little confused when I first entered the restaurant, but when you see the Lobster Roll poster outside and go through the lower door of the building, you're in the right place. I've seen a few reviews mention that the portions were pretty small, but I didn't even get the biggest roll and got more than enough meat ! I did eat directly at the restaurant so that might have made a difference. The service was quick and the waitress was very kind. I got the hot buttered lobster roll, my personal favorite. The lobster roll itself was very solid, the only critique I might have is that the roll was HUGE, and even though I thought there was plenty of meat, there was even more bread, which made the roll pretty hard to finish. Long story short, a very charming place, and you'll definitely get a solid lobster roll. Maybe not a pot I'd go out of my way to get, but very happy I tried it.
google avatar

Mitch H.

Yelp
In general, one of the better lobster roll options in the city. Love the challah roll, like that's the reason I come back. Don't really recommend anything outside that. They used to have a phenomenal crab cake sandwich but that was years ago. Just stick to the lobster roll.

Nathalia R.

Yelp
Great Experience! The place doesn't look fancy like others but definitely the food quality is 1000% better. I loved it!! Still day dreaming of this roll 20/10

Yelp
Decent roll... service was ok Ambience was not there. Would definitely not recommend. Try somewhere else Sorry

Sanela S.

Yelp
For such a restaurant name, I thought the lobster roll was going to be the best lobster roll in town. Looking at all the other photos on Yelp, I feel like I got punk'd. The roll was nothing like the photo they have advertising it; where are those large crab claws at? Not in my roll. There were absolutely no claws in there, and it was not worth $36 dollars. The restaurant itself is definitely a hole in the wall, with some outdoor seating and basically a basement of a building. The lady who took my order was very nice, but I mentioned I was in a hurry before I ordered and asked how long it would take for the roll, because I can't wait long, to which she replied about 5 minutes. Seemed right, considering it doesn't take much to put together. Well, it ended up taking 15 minutes and I had to scarf it down. I'd recommend requesting claw meat when you are ordering your roll, because it's hit or miss apparently.

Aliza D.

Yelp
Took a walk on Newbury st yesterday , and we thought we would try this place. Service was atrocious! Both to sit down, get served and then to get our check, took forever lobster roll was just so-so and barely had any meat (I did get the smaller one). My friend had the lump crab roll, and was no impressed. Also it smelled like cat pee outside. When I went inside to use the restroom it was not very clean or welcoming (the inside part of the restaurant or the bathroom! Find a better place!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious, authentic, unassuming and affordable lobster spot. Popped in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the lobster grilled cheese and the Bostonian lobster roll. We ate on the porch and just enjoyed taking in Newbury Street, our waitress was also kind and on top of everything.

Yelp
I believe this was one of my first places in Boston to enjoy a lobster roll, I crave those a lot. Fair warning, it is on a busy street, and it can get hectic on the day and or time you go so just be cautious or ready for an adventure. This is a lovely little restaurant I found randomly, and it didn't disappoint me. You can't go wrong with a lobster roll, some clam chowder topped with some oyster crackers, yum. Now I want some. Luckily, I went during a good time, no rush. The staff were very nice and helpful with some minor questions and suggestions. Just in case, but I did go with a roll. Love the ," Lobstah," name in the city of Boston. I would recommend this place to those people who are always down for the roll. The prices aren't crazy high, the place is small but quaint, and clean. Got to love a clean place. If you haven't tried and want to, just do it already. Nothing to lose here.

Cesar H.

Yelp
The quality of the food is mediocre and it is not uncommon to get very salty dishes. Even the lobster rolls are bad. I won't go back.

Ashley Rawls

Yelp
Customer service was good they were pretty chill. I had the lobster grill cheese and for $20 it was extremely mid. Such a thin sandwich with barely any lobster and the cheese was cold.
google avatar

Cynthia Z.

Yelp
I love lobsters but the lobster rolls here are just flavorless. I love how they're so generous with the amount of lobster they put in the warm buttery bun, as well as how the lobster was tender and juicy. However they were just flavorless. It's either the lobsters weren't fresh or they over washed them and got rid of all the saltwater. We also got the clam chowder and the lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was very different... didn't noticed any lobster flavor in there and it was just meh. The clam chowder however was the best, all the way from the texture to the flavor.

Yelp
Oh this place has good food! Lobster rolls are the best...Leo was awesome and super friendly. Upon his suggestion we got the new englander lobster roll with butter and we are in heaven! Thank you!

Yelp
Such a good random place to stop and get some classic food. The red bean shaved ice was my favorite thing on the menu. Reminds me of the kind I had as a kid on the west coast.
google avatar

Jana H.

Yelp
If there were half stars, I would give this 3.5. Ordered a lobster roll (hot with butter) and the lobster tacos. The lobster tacos were really just okay and had too much mayonnaise. They did not have much flavor. The lobster roll was good and the bun was soft, but some toasted on the outside (good consistency). Also enjoyed mango Hawaiian shave ice! It was a nice bonus for this place to have shave ice, so I guess 4 stars is accurate.

Yelp
Really disappointing, especially given the price. Two small chunks of claw meat and the rest was tiny leg meat. Roll was dry and borderline stale. I've eaten many lobster rolls for years all over New England. This was one of the worst.

Yelp
I had a hot buttered lobstah roll (4oz) and my friend had lobstah tacos. I was so excited to eat my roll that I forgot to take a picture! It was good and buttery, but the lobster had little flavor, like it was frozen. It was still good but not great, thus the 4 star rating. It was definitely enough to fill me up compared to the 6 oz. We sat outside because the restaurant itself had a funky, musty smell and it was nice out. Our waitress was fantastic. I'd try it again.

Yelp
The lobster roll was average. Not amazing but not bad. Would not go out of my way to stop here, but was a good stop for being in the area.

Yelp
Worst lobster roll I have ever had in my life. The lobster was horrible and really chewey and did not taste good at all. The place smelled like a bathroom and the clam chowder had random starch in it. The service was okay but overall worst place to get a lobster roll.

Yelp
I found myself at Lobstah On A Roll this weekend, as my sister wanted to get the "New England experience" by having her own lobster roll. Conveniently located on Newbury Street, Lobstah On A Roll is a small restaurant that offers a variety of seafood specials. I ordered the New England tacos with a side of fries and was pleasantly surprised. The meat was flavorful, and the mango salsa complimented it perfectly. My sister's lobster roll was stuffed full, which is a surprise these days. Service was very quick, and the staff was very kind, though a little inattentive. I am glad that it was a sunny day, so we were able to sit outside. I would definitely recommend sitting outside- the inside is very small and dimly lit. Overall, I would definitely recommend Lobstah On A Roll to anyone looking for some good seafood. I will definitely visit again.
