Happened to be in this area having car serviced. Decided to try put a nearby restaurant,remember enjoying this place so I stopped in. As soon as I walked I, got into a fun conversation about being true New Yorkers. So pleasant. On my servers recommendation ordered the fish tacos. WOW so delicious. The fish was obviously fresh,abd freshly posed. The small side guacamole fresh and delicious. Had great talks with the chef and server. I will def go back,especially when soft shell crabs are in season.

Lobster meat was tender and buttery could taste the garlic in every bite I appreciate fresh ingredients and taking your time broccoli rabe was perfect mozzarella garlic bread so good 😊 thank you guys you are a gem in Staten Island my new go to when I want some italian or seafood 🦞 and the packaging was great as well as the portions they remembered to pack the horseradish sauce mayo and hot sauce thank you 🙏

I would go here every time with my uncle and father when we come into town from Arizona, to visit family on Staten Island. Out of the last 10 times we came here 3 of the times either myself, my dad, uncle, or I must have gotten a bad clam at some point in the meal and got very sick about 4 or 5 hours after getting back to the house. I don't not recommend it, but maybe stay away from the clams 🤷‍♂️ the calamari was very good and we haven't gotten sick from that.

One of my favorite restaurants on the island. Delicious food, great quality ingredients. Been here multiple times and each time is better than the last. I could drink a whole bottle of the vodka sauce

Lobster and clams Fra Diavlo were delicious. I liked that I could order mild. Came in a second time just for this dish. Plenty left over for next day. Great service too.

Overall, it was a great experience. Got Caesar salad, bacon wrapped scallops, grilled salmon, and steamed broccoli. It was perfect. Grace and the rest of the staff are friendly and efficient.

The food is absolutely cooked fresh and I would not say this if it wasn't but it is very fresh and oversized proportions a playful one could easily be split with two people

Lovely servers, food tasted great, and the dessert was really yummy. It gets a little pricey but it's worth it! My favorite was the fried scallops and the pretzel!

I had a great experience, the beers were ice cold the music was great. The waiters very attentive. The shrimp tequila rap delicious. The fried flounder with fries and slaw very good the batter was not over fried this time.

This place rocks, & def encouraging people to come for lunch (that's me!) w/ awesome lunch specials AND daily specials - too much good food ! Very clean inside, friendly service, & their soups hit the spot on a cold day. Super fresh & delicious lobster, & real great fra diavolo sauce.

My Mother was in the mood for a seafood lunch. I didn't want to drive to City Island and based on the recommendations of friends I decided to come here. We got here about 2pm, they have indoor and outdoor seating, we decided to eat indoors. There were only two other people there so we didn't have to wait for to be seated. The restaurant's was quiet, there was music in the background creating a nice ambiance. The food was delicious! The salads are huge, large enough for two people! The food arrived fast, hot and in a timely manner. Our server Beverly was very nice and pleasant.

Been going to this place for a while. The food isn't the same anymore, lobster roll was tough and dry the salmon florentine was so oily my girlfriend had a bad stomach . I know they can do better $80 dollars after ..

have eaten at Joe's for the first time about three years ago and since then it has been multiple times. Tonight I had the rigatoni with crab meat and it was fantastic. This was at the location on Hylan Boulevard. Definitely recommend

Omg, when I say this place has amazing sea food it has amazing sea food. We went for the lunch special and was not disappointed. You can fat a 5 star lobster lunch for a great price. They also have the best bread pudding I ever had.

Used to order from here all the time. The delivery was my issue. Frequently my order arrived Looking severely damaged. The packaging was broken and looked like it had been tampered with. Loved the food, but it should not arrive Looking like a truck ran over it...

Great service, solid menu selection and fair prices. Pasta served piping hot and plated sloppily.

the food and service was great to bad it's over 80 degrees in the restaurant who wants to eat when it's that hot!!! my food could have cooked on the tabl. again this is just unfortunate because everyone was so great and the food was amazing but the experience of going is not worth it I recommend take out or orderin.

If you like seafood you will love this place The raw bar is excellent The Zappa da mussels and the escargot is to die for The entrees are huge and wonderful We found the service to be exceptional Can't wait to go back again

Have never had a bad meal here and have been there numerous times. This is the closet to a Cape Cod type lobster shack as you will find on Staten Island. I especially like their clam chowder and shrimp with hot sauce. They also know how to cook lobsters perfectly..

My Girlfriend and I ordered Take out. She Had Lobster Busque. which was bland ,and not creamy , with almost no lobster. I ordered a blackened chicken Cesar salad. The blackened chicken tasted like nothing. not well seasoned. Blackend seasoning spice should have a kick to it. This had none. I also ordered Broccoli Rabe. I got it under seasoned and in a pool of water. So needless to say it was not a great experience! I was really hoping it was going to be good !

After moving back to Brooklyn and not being able to find a decent stuffed lobster that isn't just a whole bunch of breading, I take back what I said about that shrimp dish. I'm still annoyed with the portion size and the quality of the food I received that day, but their stuffing is really unmatched and I wish they opened up a location in Brooklyn.

I ordered Fish & Chips, it was delicious but the portion was really small, I got 4 bite size pieces and a lot of waffle fries. My wife got shrimp scampi which was a very nice portion. overall a bit disappointing. We have always loved this restaurant, maybe just a bad day.

I came back after 5 years and ordered lobster bisque (perfect) and the stuffed appetizer with 3 clams, 3 mussels and 3 shrimp. I usually go to the other LHJ l; when I got my dish I was stunned. The shrimp were the size of shrimp you might use in shrimp salad and the stuffing was barely there. I asked for an additional small portion of stuffing because this dish was nothing compared to the other LHJ. BUMMER

Going to be kind because the Chilean sea bass I had was very good and cooked perfect with a lemon butter sauce. We ordered Oysters and Clams. They were both good but the place was out of Crackers. How do you have a raw bar and not have crackers??? Very expensive $400 for 4 people but everything in NY is expensive i guess. The lobster Bisque was good not to much Cayenne like most places. Could have had a bit more Brandy flavor it was very good over all even had some small lobster chunks. Would i go there again if in Staten island maybe for a special or happy hour or just the fish dinner. I am HELLS KITCHEN

This was supposed to be stuffed shrimp. It looks like dog food with the texture of wet cat food and a slice of lemon. Not what you would expect for 25 dollars. As far as taste it taste like lemon flavored butter with a hint of seafood. Only good side is the fries that came on the side is edible

I bought the stuffed whole lobster. Broiled and juicy very juicy. Price was a bit high to make this a regular thing.

Just tried this place for the 1st time yesterday 2/11/18 a rainy Sunday afternoon ...... Me n the wife were in the mood for some seafood after a visit at the hospital ..... We have passed this place for years and never stopped in until yesterday !!! The place was very clean n neat looking; we were greeted with friendly and smiling faces ..... We started off with the Lobster Bisque Soup which did not cut it for me; seems like they use shrimp cut up into tiny pieces n very few chunks of lobster !! The wife enjoyed it though there was hardly any lobster in it !! But we both agreed the soup itself was not of a lobster bisque base it was creamy n tasted like a standard creamy soup base needs work !!! Then we ordered a large order of baked clams; I heard of little necks but theses were micro mini little necks... now I know why they have a baked clam menu on the wall for 20, 40, 60 people !!! Honestly very small !!! Then we ordered the Oysters Rockefeller they were good we enjoyed them; probably should have skipped the soup n backed clams n just ordered four orders of the Oysters Rockefeller !!! We were still hungry looking over the big menu but we decided to get the check !! $ 55.00 without the tip !!!! In my opinion the place needs a real seafood chef !! Or maybe we are spoiled because we live in Howard Beach and we are truly blessed to have Lennys Clam Bar !!! Need to say we stopped at Royal Crown before we hit the bridge and split an order of Penne ala vodka n Eggplant Parm.... Now this place is always on point n never disappoints!! John you keep up the good work !!! Hands on always !!!

Thursday's are $1 oysters. This place has been here for as long as I can remember. Seafood is fresh , simply prepared and never disappointing. Parking lot is a little tight so park on street if you have a long vehicle. Nice little bar area with 4 seats and about 15 -20 tables spread out for dining . Market pricing is fair and service is good . Our waitress was very attentive to our needs . We had plenty of drinks , napkins and food . I ordered a dozen oysters, fresh and served with lemon slices and cocktail sauce. Girlfriend had the mussels in sweet red sauce , very good smooth consistency in the sauce . I had the broiled flounder - 2 filets were cooked perfectly in a buttery wine sauce - superb. Both dishes were piping hot . Small crowd was there everyone seemed enjoying themselves . A very local Staten Island crowd.

Love this place! Been here the first time towards the end of the pandemic and it has become a family favorite once I convinced my parents to try it out. The last month alone I think I was here at least 3 or 4 times it was that good. Place is not overpriced and the seafood is always fresh. I know this is a seafood place, but the rib-eye is awesome here too! The Joe Special with the lobster is a family favorite along with the mussels in red sauce. If you ever go there and they have the shrimp and bacon appetizer special I recommend getting that! Place does get busy certain nights and the staff gets overwhelmed so patience becomes a virtue but hey its a popular place so its to be expected. The servers were always nice and helpful, glad to see this place is booming again, it was kinda empty and gloomy when I came here the first time over a year ago.

Not my worst experience but I cannot recommend it due to a issue I had with the entrees. The seafood entrees feature only the seafood. So my sister got the calamari and that's all she got, no vegetables or potato, even though it's a entree. Which for the price was ridiculous. In addition the calamari was bland. The steamed lobster was decent as was the raw bar and my fish and chips was actually very good. Service was friendly but inattentive. Overall for the price you can get better elsewhere.

I went here with my two Italian friends from Italy and also did an order to go for family it was quite disappointing we ordered the fried calamari which was very rubbery and tough and then we ordered the homemade crab cakes it had no flavor except some breadcrumb taste they should try using more crab instead of bread it was a shame also the fisherman's platter was extremely small and tasteless fish not fresh and the New England clam chowder soup was yellow and no clams ??? The only thing that was ok were French fries the waitress Theresa I believe was extremely pleasant sweet and very patient and was generesly accommodated for that however I will not return

I got the lobster tail and lobster bisque. Next time, I'll try the fried calamari. I like this place a lot.

This is a neighborhood (my neighborhood ) long time established Seafood restaurant. Amazing selection of all shell fish and always many specials. Nice desert selection. Excellent Manhattan clam chowder. Excellent service This is my go to spot when I am home in Staten Island and get a seafood craving. The only problem I have is the sauce. I'm spoiled by Randazzo's plain and simple.

Love they're Seafood mix ala Diabla! They're garlic roasted potatoes are a must. I usually for pick up and it maintains super hot love them!

Decent local neighborhood spot for seafood. Recommend the clams as that seems to be what they're known for... we had an app of fried whole clams and they were really good. I was not a huge fan of the honey balsamic calamari salad (too pungent for me but my colleague enjoyed it)... the shrimp balls were tasty and the fries were delicious. The stuffed shells were a bit thin on shell and too mushy in texture. Our service was extremely friendly and we enjoyed our time here.

Very quick and to the point. I was very disappointed with the Joe's special. I had it with the white sauce and was not feeling it at all, and esp for what they charge. The squid was very very rubbery and the clams were huge and fishy. The shrimp were over cooked and were dry and tasteless. The mussels were the only thing in the dish that was half way decent. The New England claw chowder was disgusting. It was like having a bowl of milk. What upsets me is I have been to this place countless times. I have never gotten stuck like this before so I'm baffled. I mean they can be somewhat inconsistent but for the most part I do enjoy their food. Not sure what happened but I don't think I will be going back anytime soon. If I'm in the mood for a fish joint I will definitely go to Randazzos in BK. Went back for another try on 6-9-2020, the food at best was good but surely nothing to rave about. The amount of the bill was astronomical in my opinion. My Wife called the order in so I wasn't quite sure what I was picking up. The wind up was I paid 94.00 for two lobster tails and an entree with scallops, clams and shrimp, a dish they called a special. Oh and there was a side order of linguine. You do the math because honestly I can't. 27 per lobster tail ? = 54.00 + special order 32.00 ? Tot= 86.00 plus Tax =94.00

Ordered from Lobster House Joe's and everything was amazing!! We had two lobster specials ($19.99, choice of pasta or French fries; we got one of each) and the Joe's special steamers. The pasta and French fries were a good supplement for the steamers. There was so much food that we had leftovers and we're big eaters. Everything was fresh and piping hot when we picked it up. I had called a day earlier to place a future order in case they ran out of the lobster specials but they said they had a lot and it wouldn't be a problem to call on the day of the actual order. Everything was ready within 20-30 minutes after I called them. I'd totally come back here again to take advantage of their lobster specials which is such a good deal and try out their other menu items!!

Ordered the lobster rolls, the "whole belly" clam strips and lobster bisque. The lobster roll came on... an untoasted hotdog bun. Are you kidding? Then the "whole belly" clam strips were anything but whole belly. They were over cooked, dry little strips. Nothing natural or fresh about them. The lobster bisque tasted like straight up vodka sauce. And you could tell they didn't cook the lobster pieces in it. They were on the bottom clumped together, pure white. So they must have popped them in the container (we ordered to go) and then poured the soup over them. Of all the restaurants on Staten Island... very deceiving pictures. I am not sure how they have such decent reviews. Never again. What a waste of money. The meal wasn't cheap either.

I ordered 3 lobster rolls from here tonight. I was very disappointed. They came on hot dog buns! It changed the whole taste of the dish and not in a good way. It was unseasoned and unflavored. For the price of this appetizer, $19.95 for each plate, I expected better quality.

I had high expectations for this place, Having previously had their Zappa de mussels at someone's house - the sauce was so good I decided to go myself. I ordered take out if the zuppa the mussels and a lobster roll. I'm pretty disappointed. The muscles themselves are small and some cases really shriveled and the lobster roll is basically a chunk of lobster on a roll. There's no sauce, no dressing except a side of dressing that is a mayonnaise-based spicy product. Lobster rolls I've had at other places have celery or some kind of dressing - like a tuna or chicken salad - not just pieces of lobster in bread. I think a little more effort would go along way if you're going to charge 15 bucks for a lobster roll. do a little more work guys, put a little effort into that lobster roll. The sauce was great; the red spicy sauce on the musskes was tasty but the actual muscles were tiny. IPDATE 4/12/18. Have since ordered the muscles again, and they've been much better both times...maybe that one time was a bad batch or wrong day. The muscles were much larger and very fresh! Maybe they get fresh for weekend, no idea, but I can highly recommend the muscles. I get medium which is enough to make your lips burn a little.

if I would have known that this place was that good I would have been here a long time ago I must have passed this place around 900 times in the past 10 years I said to myself there's no way you'd have great seafood in Staten Island like this so I always ate at the shore or or on vacation this place is good you must come here the baked clams are ridiculous. Maine lobster is as fresh and sweet as it can get

My husband took me here for my birthday yesterday and it was as good as before COVID. There were only a few diners there, but the food was just as good as before the pandemic - and, of course, the restaurant isn't as noisy as normal (I feel for them, but frankly, we enjoyed it because we could talk). The service is outstanding and the prices are very, very reasonable! I have never tried their takeout, but after looking at the other reviews here, I plan to try that the next time we want to eat seafood in. Thank you, Lobster House Joe's.

I've been searching for a healthy fish dinner and finally tried Joes and I'm so happy I did. I ordered the swordfish steak with broccoli rabe and it was amazing !! We also ordered oysters and surf and turf and it was equally good. The wait staff was also very nice and friendly. I only gave it 4 stars because I felt the portions of some of our food was pretty small for such high prices and if your paying for a high priced meal it would be nice to throw in a vegetable ... but we Can't wait to go back!

I seldom post reviews but had to this time. . We have been here many times through the years and it continues to go downhill. Maybe it's because less attention is given to this location as compared to its South Shore location, from what I hear. We had to ask for a waitress to come to our table to take our order after waiting so long with our drinks that the bus boy tried his best to mention. Then we waited almost an hour for a calamari salad. Joe's seafood Special was so gritty from sand, we were so surprised. The staff are not properly trained and it is so sad. I hope they learn from this post that they need to do something at this location. And it's not from the coronavirus!

Look at your check good before leave. They assume your not paying cash and tack on extra money for credit card fees without even asking you. It's just plain wrong. It should show cash total first, then credit card total. We paid cash and therefore I had to deduct the extra charge off my bill.

Was on Hylan Blvd. today and Lobster House Joe's looked like a great choice. Wanted some kind of seafood. We came here a few minutes before Noon. We were the only patrons in the restaurant. When we left at 1247 PM there were 7 diners. I chose the grilled shrimp Greek Salad with feta cheese. It was a decent salad and nothing to complain about. My dining partner chose the lobster roll. It was okay, basic lobster roll (sort of small) with waffle fries. Service was nonexistent. You had to go grab a waiter if you wanted something. Clearly they could care less. This joint is not cheap making the lack of service more annoying. Will I eat here again? Maybe. Maybe I need to come here on a weekend or for dinner.

The seafood are fresh and delicious. We made reservations but still need to wait 40 minutes before we were seated. They have a board with specials everyday. We ordered Spicy Streamer Pot, linguini with Scungilli, and Joe's Special.

Food came out quickly. It was tasty and fresh. The eggplant parm was delicious-sweet red sauce was very tasty. The popcorn shrimp appetizer was definitely from the freezer--that was a mistake. My scallops were large and cooked properly. All around great, but docking one star for that cheap popcorn shrimp appetizer. Just take it off of the menu! I'd definitely go back!

I ordered the joes special it was delicious the sauce was amazing, seafood perfectly cooked. I loved that it came in a pot, it was huge definitely could be for 2 people. The food took a little while to come out which was not a problem, I'd rather wait a little longer for my food to perfect. Overall this place was great will definitely be returning.

Great place in Staten Island to get down and dirty with your family. With that said, down and dirty of course means cracking & snacking on lobster, crab and whatever seafood you desire. Everything was fresh, tasty and delicious. My grandmother and I came here on a beautiful afternoon after the acupuncturist mentioned seafood. The whole time we were getting therapy she kept asking where a place was located to get us some crab. Of course I pulled out my Cellphone and went straight to my yelp app- 'Entered King Crab legs' & this place came up. Clam chowder was good, a little lemony but nothing to complain about =) Baked Clams were delicious, King crab legs were phenomenal. The price was a bit pricey but that is what you should expect when eating some good seafood, at an italian restaurant on Hylan Boulevard in Staten Island. =) I highly recommend this spot to everyone on the Island or visiting.

We had Lobster Bisque and raw clams and oysters. The soup tasted great. It had very small pieces of lobster though out the soup. We liked it very much. (The lobster pieces could have been larger) we enjoyed the raw clams and oysters. Everything tasted very fresh! We Highly Recommend Lobster House Joe's

Been going here before covid and nothing has changed. The food is always amazing. Decent affordable prices and food is always cooked to perfection. The white clam in lemon butter sauce is my favorite

If you're looking for seafood in Staten Island, this is the place! It's very different style from Hook N Reel because over there, it's more seasoned in the sauce, while this one has more varieties in how you want your seafood to be served. It's a pretty good place to go with family for casual dinners if you're looking for some yummy seafood :)
