"New to Southampton in 2022, this indoor expansion of the local roadside staple is now a year-round attraction. Stop in for a Long Island-style seafood menu, including lobster rolls both drenched in warm butter or packed with lobster salad, creamy clam chowder, and fried clam strips, plus a full bar happily slinging dirty shirleys. Summer brings late nights on the patio, where anyone eager to dance to a Top 40 DJ comes to party. The original location is also called The Lobster Roll, but everyone calls it “Lunch,” thanks to the huge LUNCH sign you can't miss when driving on Montauk Highway." - melissa kravitz hoeffner, team infatuation

"Lunch makes the best lobster roll in the Hamptons, but it’s not for the purists—theirs is mayo-heavy and has lots of chopped-up celery in the chunky, creamy lobster salad. Still, this could be our last meal on earth, and definitely our ideal meal after the beach. If you’re stopping by for a smaller snack, they also do the lobster salad as a slider. A second location opened in Southampton in 2022 that has an expanded menu and a full bar. " - melissa kravitz hoeffner, team infatuation

"The beautiful, sweet lobster rolls—a phenomenon I was utterly unfamiliar with before moving east—everywhere from the classics of Long Island’s East End, like Duryea's in Montauk and The Lobster Roll (better known as Lunch) in Amagansett, to the dozens of summertime gems in Maine, like Shaw's Fish & Lobster Wharf in the village of New Harbor."

If you like seafood right before arriving to Montauk this a nice stop location with a great menu selection. I was really looking forward to this location since they’re iconic for their lobster rolls. We had this incredible buffalo ranch calamari appetizer, omg it’s the best of the best! The Brooklyn Summer Ale beer on tap was nice and cold & the lobster rolls were mouthwatering deliciousness. We ordered the cold and hot lobster rolls, to try both and let me tell you the hot lobster roll is the way to go, highly recommended it. In the waiting area outside there is a window to buy drinks from the bar, which I thought was a great idea and convenient so while you wait, you can have a drink in the hot weather. Some cons unfortunately for this location are that now in the summer its very very busy, there’s limited bathrooms and seating at times when everyone arrives. if you’re a couple there is no seating outside for you most of the time and they don’t tell you but they play it off and have you sit you by the bar, I caught couples’ pattern, which was very disappointing but you can’t have everything in life, they got lucky I like the bar since the service was excellent. I will definitely come back to the spot and get a hot lobster roll, some beers and that incredible amazing buffalo Ranch calamari, oh my God I’m still thinking about it. Just because of the food & service they make up for the cons.

First time here it was so amazing. Definitely worth the hype it gets. The drinks were solid and food was delicious. We also had such incredible service with Cybele and Wendy. We ended up chatting with Ingrid as well about history of the restaurant and the food we got. Overall 10/10 experience I was really impressed.

Always wanted to stop here ever since seeing the "Affair". Great food and service. Dog friendly, we sat on the patio. Weather was beautiful. The Lobster roll was delicious and service was top notch.

We visited on Saturday 8/3/24. We come to lobster roll annually as we visit the hamptons/montauk area. The food was well paced From our drinks. Chill vibes everyone was relaxed not rushing you to order food or drinks. We ordered Lobster roll & fish and chips. The quality of the food here has definitely changed through the years. What use to be 10/10 is now 7/10. My lobster roll wasn’t on the roll came on the side. It also had no flavor to it where as in the past It was flavorful. My husband had the fish and chips and he stated that the batter wasn’t spectacular. Hes had better. We loved the Mango smoothie and frozen lemonade. The outside dining is also very nice. We will be back next season. Hope a few changes are made. Theres also a location in south Hampton. I must say the bathrooms Were VERY GROSS. Ive never seen them like this before. So many workers and no one attending rest rooms.

Was looking forward to trying this iconic spot, and while the we loved the location and atmosphere and whole vibe, the food underwhelmed. The mussels in butter and garlic were good, and appreciated that it was just butter and garlic and not a scampi style broth. The lobster salad roll however was a disappointment. It was loaded with big chunks of celery, completely taking focus away of the lobster itself. And the bun to lobster ratio is off. Roll is too big and makes one feel they are not getting their money’s worth when it’s not filled with lobster. While $35 is a fair price in today’s world, it’s not here with that amount of product on there. The lobster itself was good, but when taking a bite of the entire thing, the bread and celery compromise the integrity of the lobster itself.

My son and me got sick from the stuffed shrimp. The shrimp was really fresh but with the crab stuffing something was wrong. Fish and chips was nice not greasy my hubby order it,but no seasoning at all. My other son hamburger was dry and overcooked. (We asked medium, place was busy so I take it for excuse) Unfortunately that what we only was able to eat yesterday for lunch after we canceled the diner reservation.. For appetizers we ordered fried calamari it was awesome. Parking easy and free, front of the restaurant, you can choose in and outdoor seating.A quick stop for a lunch on the road.

We had a great lunch today! We arrived at 11:40 and waited online for the restaurant to open. We were promptly seated despite multiple parties being ahead of us. Our server was attentive and our food was delicious. Lobster rolls were tasty and perfectly prepared. We were seated outside with our dog as were other groups. I asked for a cup of water to put in our portable dog bowl and they brought me a whole dog bowl over! We drove over 2 hours to try this place and we will definitely return!

I would say in total I would give this a 3.5 for the food, but have them 4 stars because of the atmosphere and service. The lobster roll and fries were $41, and while I expect it to be pricey, the roll wasn't anything to write home about. I think $31 is a more apt price, but still wanted to try it because of the reviews. Roll was mehh, but I would go here to have a few beers and hang out.
