Lobster Zen - Food Truck

This food truck is located on Valley Blvd in front of the GW Plaza so parking is always easy. The staff here is extremely friendly! To view their menu, you scan a QR code. You can also call in to place an order. Everything is made to order so it can take some time before your order is ready, so please be patient if you're ordering in person. We love coming here since it's a close and convenient place to get lobster rolls. The lobster rolls are delicious! The lobster meat is fresh and succulent and the roll was such buttery goodness. They also serve some other seafood selections including lobster bisque, clam chowder, fish & chips, etc.

We've been there a couple of times in the past few weeks and this truck probably serves the best lobster rolls in the Pasadena-San Gabriel area. Shrimp chips, calamari fry are also some must tries! Hot and fresh food! Our go to lobster food truck in this area.

My family went to Prince Dumplings for dinner and, on our way out, saw this truck parked next to the parking lot. I actually had this place saved in my collection but didn't pay attention to its location, so we decided to buy something there and eat it the next day. We ordered the lobster roll and lobster bisque, and checked-in on yelp to get free shrimp chips, there was only 1 woman in the truck handling orders and cooking, but nobody was in line at the time so we got our food within a reasonable time. Even though we had it the next day for breakfast, both were yummy, the bread of the roll was buttery soft with a nice flavor, but the bisque was slightly too salty in our opinion. We will go again next time. You can also add the owner on wechat (having a wechat account means that she is Chinese). I wrote her a thank you note and she replied a few days later - must be very busy! No perks for DM'ing her though, as far as I can tell, but you never know...

What a treat to have such delicious food nearby. Everything was so good and perfectly seasoned and flavored. The soup/chowder is also really good but a little cold but nothing a little wiz in the microwave can't fix. Calamari has a spicy kick making it really good. Lobster roll filled with lots of lobster on a buttery truffle roll. They also sell fresh fried shrimp chips like the ones from Hawaii. So good! If I had a tip it would be to sell something that can cut the buttery /fried/ grease to accompany the food. Would definitely eat again.

We drove by Lobster Zen's truck a few times and finally got to try it recently. Hubby and I decided to share a lobster roll and a lobster bisque. The roll/bread is lightly toasted and buttery, very generous with all the lobster claw meat. Yummmm! There are also a few pieces of lobster meat in the bisque as well. Both items were amazing! With Yelp check-in you can get an order of shrimp chips. These were dust with seaweed flavoring and they reminded me of Ono Giant Shrimp chips from Hawaii. IYKYK Since this is a food truck we ate most of our food in the car. I think it's a one lady shop where she takes your order and cooks your food as well. She was so friendly and nice, she even gave me an order of tofu-fa on the house to try. The tofu was so delicious and soft! We are definitely coming back and next time we are not sharing that lobster roll!

Been here 2 times now with the boo one year apart and the quality is still excellent. The price is very reasonable for what you get, and the service is very friendly.

Solid lobster rolls in a food truck located in Rosemead on Valley blvd and Muscatel ave. Plaza has parking, shared by Prince Dumpling and GW supermarket. The employee (I'm assuming owner) was very sweet and prepared everything quickly. My friend checked in on yelp so we received a complementary tofu pudding dessert and shrimp chips. The lobster roll was packed to the top with lobster pieces!

I'm so glad we caught Lobster Zen! The lobster roll is AMAZING -- truly generous!!! The wait IS totally worth it, and the lady who we think may be the owner as well is an incredible one-woman show! Lobster Zen is a local treasure that should be cherished. Plus, the design of the truck is notably cute.

Still an amazing lobster roll at the price point. Is it bad I inhale it in less than 5 minutes? The lady owner, as others have said, is very sweet. I hope they can gain more customers because I love the convenience of having great (non-chain) lobster rolls in Rosemead. Just go already! You won't regret it!

Saw this food truck when I was driving by. It's located in front of GW supermarket in Rosemead. Plenty of parking. Their lobster roll was amazing. Bread was toasted well and buttery. Generous portion of lobster meat. Lobster was tasty and fresh. Has a light truffle flavor which is good. The lady was nice and friendly. Will definitely be come back again!

Their Best Lobster Combo is still $32 (June 2024). Highly recommended! Comes with: One Lobster Roll + Shrimp Chips (it used to be fries, which I quite liked, but they changed it. Shrimp chips are good too) + Douhua - Tofu/Soy Pudding (comes with ginger syrup now. Plain tasted good actually. Tasty either way - sweetened or unsweetened) + One can/bottle beverage (choice of soda or tea) Lobster Roll (by itself) $26 I've tried a few other items. Fried Calamari $9.99 is something I would order again. Fairly delish. Scan QR code for full menu or go on their website. Service, wait time & parking not an issue, which is always a good thing.

This place serves up the top-notch lobster roll in the San Gabriel area. This is my second time visiting in a month. The lobster roll loads of fresh lobster that'll make your taste buds sing! But hold onto your hats because they take it up a notch with a drizzle of truffle oil, sending this roll soaring to new heights of deliciousness! Another favorite item is Fried Calamari. Get ready for a flavor explosion as it's marinated in a zesty spicy sauce. And the best part? You can dip it into ranch or mayo sauce for an extra kick of yum! Claim chowder perform standard! They gave me a complimentary dessert: soy milk pudding! This is the best soymilk pudding I've ever try! It taste 200% more deliciousness than average pudding elsewhere. Its perfect balance of milky flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. I was too hungry and finish everything in few minutes...so no food pictures was taken. But I'll come back next time to add more photo. Despite the roll is a bit pricy, consider the location, convince, and friendly service, I'll come back again and again!

Oops ate too fast and forgot to take a photo but trust me its worth it. Go take your hard earned money and spend it here. The spot got plenty of parking, and it is located near the GW supermarket, blue food truck. I got the lobster roll, soup, and douhua. The lady working that day hooked me up with some free fish sticks as well. Probably because I tipped? Or they are just purely awesome. Food was amazing, big portions on the lobster, and fish sticks were hot and crunchy. Read the other reviews, they are all true!

Generous portion of lobster, well cooked and great flavor. Especially with the truffle salt. Bread was fresh, buttery and toasted, definitely hit the spot! Also, I didn't expect the tofu to be THAT good! It was super soft, similar to the ones you can get at dim sum but 1000x better. Must try! Great service too

My husband and I wanted to try something new. We read the reviews, thought we would give it a try. I am glad we did, we loved every item we ate. I've had other lobster rolls and for this price it's a great deal, each one is $23! Friday night dinner treat, we loved it! Service was great and food was tasty!

Sauce Truffle Aioli with garlic flavor made a difference. Better than in New York. I've ordered a lobster roll with fries and calamari rings. The lobster is good. Calamari rings are spicy. Fries has Cajun salt.

I don't usually write too many reviews but this was really good. The lobster roll gets an A+ from me! It came with a ton of lobster and the bread was buttery and fluffy. The tofu pudding was surprisingly really good as well and was a great palette cleanser after a heavy meal. It came with a ginger syrup that you pour on top and was super soft and not too sweet. The truck was very easy to spot as it has LED lights outlining it. It's located next to the parking lot across from the Rosemead Library, so it's convenient to park and the area is well lit. Service was quick, and I didn't have to wait long. Unfortunately I was too full to try the soups but will get it another time!

At $26, it's a pretty nicely priced lobster roll. The lobster was cooked well, very tender, and dressed with a truffle butter, which had just the right amount of truffle flavor without being overpowering. It was served cold btw, which I don't have an issue with but I know some people might. The grilled split-top bun seemed a bit dense, not as fluffy as I was expecting, but maybe this is due to the brief travel time before eating (around 5 mins). The combo came with giant shrimp chips sprinkled with nori komi furikake, a nice unorthodox choice for a side. The tofu fa was delicious! Super smooth and creamy texture. The clam chowder was good too, but at $9 for a relatively small cup, I would probably skip it in the future. They prepared the order really quickly, and were very polite, great experience overall!

First time trying lobster roll in the wild! It is beyond my expectations! Let me get the ugly out of the way which is the price!! Sure it is getting expansive nowadays! On the other hand, the lobster is delicious! Fresh and the bread is buttery but great combination with the lobster itself. Do suggest cut the bread a bit more and stuffs it in. I have it falls off everywhere. 9.9/10 for me.

I was definitely good. I would go again. Please note that it's lobster, so expect to pay for lobster. The cook had excellent customer service and was very friendly. She gave us desert as a treat.

I was looking up a good lobster roll spot on yelp and stumbled upon this food truck located off of Valley blvd in san gabriel! It definitely did not disappoint. There was so much flavor packed into the lobster roll with a light truffle flavor and lobster that melts into your mouth! The bread was very soft and fluffy. The cashier was very sweet and gave us complimentary tofu pudding (dou hua) as dessert and shrimp chips with yelp check-in! Would return again!

So good!! My bf and I always pass by the truck and were curious about it, and I'm so happy we finally tried it!! Definitely worth it!! I love the bread they use and they gave so much meat! the lady was also SUPER nice and friendly too!! Definitely gonna come back!

Complimentary shrimp chips with Yelp check-in. Lobster roll ($26) was buttery and soft. The bread seemed like a milk bread- super fluffy and sweet like a Hawaiian roll. Lobster was fresh, a bit salty, but flavorful. Fast service- less than 10 minutes waiting.

Never had bread with lobster it is juicy. The lobster meat is soft and delicious. it is so yum! Will go again.

such a nice addition to the area! absolutely delicious food! i had gotten notification of this lobster roll truck in the rosemead/ valley blvd area and wanted to try it since it was so close. my dad and i went around 7p on a friday. parking was plentiful in the GW market lot. there were two food trucks on valley, lobster zen and a stinky tofu truck. we ordered a couple of lobster rolls, a fried calamari and a lobster bisque. we brought it home to enjoy and were pleasantly surprised! everything was excellent and exceeded expectations- the calamari was a little spicy in a good way, the lobster roll had lots of lobster generously piled on, and the lobster bisque had a depth of flavor from wine or brandy and might be my favorite item! definitely five out of five stars for us and await our next trip to the lobster zen truck!

I got the Lobster Roll combo, which came with the Lobster Roll, Fries, Tofu Pudding, and a drink. The meal was super delicious. There was a good portion of Lobster, and it was well seasoned. The truffle was not overpowering, which was perfect. I absolutely loved it immensely. The fries were decent too. It was the thick cuts, so it was neither soft nor crunchy. I typically prefer thinner and crunchier fries but it was very well seasoned, which made up for it. I unconsciously finished the fries before I got to the Lobster Roll because the flavor was so good, haha. The Tofu pudding came with ginger-sugar syrup and it was also excellent. The Tofu pudding was softer and the syrup was less sweet than the ginger syrup Tofu pudding I typically get at the Asian markets or Vietnamese Tofu pudding specialty stores but that's not a bad thing. It was still I highly recommend checking this food truck out if you love Lobster rolls!

Pros: Friendly staff, and I received a free soda can with lobster roll order. Food is served within 3 minutes of ordering. The bread on the lobster roll was the best part. The bread is warm and has a nice toast to it. Cons: The lobster on the lobster roll is cold. I am not a fan of cold lobster, so this is a pass for me.

Lobster Zen is a food truck with great Lobster rolls and Lobster grilled cheese at a reliable location in Rosemead. Both taste great. It's a favorite of the whole family. The amount of lobster that they pack into each roll is impressive and they even provide free shrimp chips with every check-in.

First and foremost the customer service was excellent! They accepted a last minute phone order before closing and waited for my arrival. Ordered a clam chowder with a Best Lobster Roll combo, the combo included the roll, fries, a drink, tofu pudding and complimentary chips. Everything was delicious!! I will definitely be coming back, YUM! Also the stickers on the containers are so cute :')

Lobster roll kinda pricy and was the only thing we tried on the menu. They were generous on the lobster. Flavor was light and the bread was buttery. We ended up opening the bread and stuffing the lobster inside to have it even for each bite. Worth trying!

I like the truffle n butter seasoning of the lobster. The toasted roll is also yummy. Shrimp crackers r fresh n crispy , the flakes on them is like the icing on a cake. The tofu pudding is paired with ginger syrup, I really like it ! Soft n silky. Lady also gave me free fried oyster!!! Only suggestion is the lobster meat can be more to room temperature, it's slightly too cold for me.

The lobster roll is surprisingly good. Fresh and rich. The pudding, it is a must. Without adding any syrup, the sweetness is just perfect to me; smooth but not too creamy. Will try others next time.

Service was great, they were quick to answer any questions I had about the menu. It was easy to get parking since it's right by the GW Supermarket.
