The 10 Best Sports Bars In Seattle

"We really like the big round booths at Local. They’re perfect for feeling like your entire group of friends is a team of sports reporters that sits around and talks about absolutely nothing for the camera. The nachos and burgers are also pretty good." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

Local Public Eatery - Review - South Lake Union - Seattle - The Infatuation

"We really like the big round booths at Local for watching football. My wife and I stopped in after work on a Friday for a bite and some drinks. This place seemed fun with a lively atmosphere. The host was welcoming. Pretty disappointing food for such a cool spot. My wife and I split the LOCAL burger which was under seasoned and bland. Plus the meat patties are tiny compared to the bun. The Fully Loaded Crispy Potato’s were soggy like they were sitting out for hours. The wings for $20 were underwhelming. Service was great even though it was packed.

Loved the place and the overall vibe! It’s a fun, lively spot with games and a great atmosphere. The food was amazing – I especially enjoyed the fish tacos, tempura shrimp, shrimp dumplings, and sweet potato fries. All super flavorful and well done. The Spicy Guava mocktail was also really refreshing and tasty. Just a heads-up: it’s probably not the best spot if you’re looking for a quiet, personal gathering – it’s more of a social, energetic environment. But if you’re in the mood for good food and a good time, definitely check it out!

I’ve been to this place many times, including for large group happy hours, and it never disappoints. The service and atmosphere are consistently fantastic. It’s a great spot for large parties or team gatherings. This time, I had the shrimp dumplings, which were full of flavor and depth. The beet hummus is also a standout, highly recommended!

Google
It was our first day in Seattle and looking for somewhere to eat we came upon LOCAL Public Eatery. They have great menu so it's quite hard to decide what to get. For starter we had the Hawker's Street Curry which was so delicious! For Main Course we had the Fish and Chips and the Pulled Pork Baked Pasta which was also very good. For dessert they have that Warm Apple Cobbler that tasted like straight from heaven! Dane S. was great - personable and really attentive. He always made sure we had the best time and helped us with detailed recommendations to have the best of everything. If you're staying in Seattle make sure to visit this restaurant - for cocktails, beer or their delicious food!

Servers were nice but food came out very slow. The overall quality of food was pretty good. We like the chicken skewers and spicy edamame from their starters and guava drink and mango boba from their non-alcohol menu! Highly recommend this place if you're going with a big group for drinks or finger food, but it's pretty loud to chat so be aware.

Google
Great guava margarita. I shared the steak and fries with my daughter. I would order the sauce separately and put my own since it came with a lot. My nephew had the fish and chips which were yummy. We beat the crowd at 4pm. It got really busy as we were wrapping up. Great spot to watch the game.

What a fun brunch spot! Took my mother and mother-in-law here for brunch before visiting the Museum of History and Industry near by—great day out!

Google
LOCAL is the type of place you go when you have a group of people who all want different foods/can’t decide what they want to eat! In our case, my girlfriend wanted a burger, while I wanted ramen. This place fit the bill. We were promptly greeted by Shawn upon entering, who is delightful (do us a favor and listen to hellogoodbye!! That’s the concert we were telling you we went to!) Then we were whisked away to a table in a scenic and private part of the restaurant, where we had a great view of the entire restaurant, which gives off a comforting family friendly vibe but it’s very hip and filled with a younger crowd. I think it was Dan who took care of us first and gave us lively conversation about the origin of Dr Pepper, and promptly took our food orders. The edamame was AMAZING- we highly recommend it. My girlfriend wants to come back just for that alone. Finally, Chris checked on us frequently (Dan, too) and was extremely kind. Overall, above and beyond service- we will be back!

Yelp
This is a good spot in south lake Union to get a drink or food. I'd describe it as a "fun" atmosphere and a decent gathering spot. Typical menu which provides many options as well as some signature drinks. I've been to this location 3x and feel a mixed bag on the waitstaff. Usually good, upbeat service though.

Yelp
My son and I stopped in before a concert at the Paramount around 5pm on a a Wednesday. It's definitely a tech bro unwind spot but that's ok. We got the tempura shrimp which was tasty and two local burgers. Also tasty. The down side was the service was crappy. She asked if we wanted the appetizer to come with the mains (clearly what she wanted to happen) and we asked them to come as an appetizer. They came exactly 60 seconds before the burgers. Then she asked, after I had the nerve to order a second drink, if she could cash us out. I figured she was at the end of her shift so I agreed of course. Nope. She kept serving for the 20 minutes after while I finished my beer. Just wanted us gone. Heard her do it to the table next to us before she did it to us too. Too many other options too close by to get treated like that.

Yelp
I don't know how you can screw up a burger but they did. It tasted super gamey and had a weird smell I've never associated with burgers. The onion rings were good though. I couldn't get past one single bite. It was enough to make me gag. Sorry but it just wasn't good. I had to throw it out. Also, Burger King has better fries than this place. $60 for a burger/onions rings/fries. Not worth it at all especially if you don't even end up eating it because it's gross.

Yelp
Mediocre establishment with borderline service! They can't be bothered to mention that their Diablo burger comes slathered in disgusting mayonnaise! Didn't offer to fix or comp either.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday celebration and it was a great environment. I could see how it gets crowded and busy on game days. We got drinks and an appetizer and overall not bad. A bit on the expensive side, 2 coronas, 1 happy dad, and shrimp dumplings with tip came out to $55, but it was expected.

Yelp
Came here for a later dinner and we appreciate that they are open a little later than some of the other local spots. Definitely a spot with a solid beer and drink menu but we weren't having drinks for the night so we'll have to try again another time. Service was welcoming and we were seated immediately. Nice vibes and good music. Food + Brooklyn burger - burger was really tasty! Fries were decent but a little on the dry side. + Poke bowl - my husband got this but said he was a bit disappointed because he felt that for the price there should have been more tuna poke instead of tofu and all of the other stuff it came with. Overall, I really enjoyed their burger and vibes.

Yelp
Cool place to grab lunch in a trendy area off of Mercer St. in the South Lake Union area. Lots of tech workers were here as many of them had their work badges/lanyards on. Parking garage is attached in the same building. Came here to meet a friend and there was plenty of tables. We opted to eat in the restaurant side, instead of the bar area. Super friendly staff and the food was good.

Yelp
Went for brunch after running a 10K around SLU. Many of the restaurants close by were packed or short staffed, but this place was not which worked out for my group since we were starving!! We were seated right away and didn't have to wait. There are plenty of options on the menu, such as ramen, Korean food, poke bowl, and burgers. I'm iffy of restaurants that have different cuisines, so I opted for what seemed like a safe choice - chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken was pretty tasty. Enough to satusfy the cravings! The fries was just alright. Server was kind and friendly. We were able to split the bill with no issues. There's multiple TVs inside; one was playing a music video and another sports. The music volume was just right when we went. It allows for conversations unlike other places but not sure if it was because of the time we went.

Yelp
Local is one of my work team's favorite places to go for a quick and casual lunch. With a large variety of food and drinks, there's something for everyone on the menu. My co-workers and I came at 11:30am on a weekday and were lucky to get a table before the big lunch rush at noon. This past visit, I ordered the FISH TACOS (+$19.50) and subbed YAM FRIES (+2) for regular fries. The FISH TACOS came as a set of two tacos and were large and meaty. I was honestly full after eating one taco (plus the fries) and brought the other one home for a midday snack later on. The cod was perfectly battered and came with lettuce, pico di gallo slaw, and a lemon wedge on top with a mayonnaise sauce on the side for dipping. For almost $10 a taco, it's pricey for what you get, even though they are decent-sized. The YAM FRIES were amazing and surprisingly just lightly salted which was perfect for me! They were crispy and just slightly sweet as well. Well worth the substitution in my opinion. Service was excellent and our server was very attentive. She even gave our table free samples of their new non-alcoholic riesling which was a nice touch. In terms of atmosphere, it can get kind of loud at times, but you can still usually hold a conversation at your table. They also have shuffleboard and pool tables available for entertainment. Overall: 4/5 for food, 5/5 for service, 4/5 for atmosphere

Yelp
Was here for the UFC fights on Saturday night. Service was very attentive, and we constantly had drinks coming without running out. Food is decent, and I liked the atmosphere better than most dive bars that show the fights. Price is definitely higher than other UFC bars, but it makes sense given the location. They did not show the fights on most TVs with sound on until half way through the card, which made it feel it it was not the event of the night, but more like something to watch on the side. Would visit again for future UFC PPV nights. Chill spot with some good options to hop to afterwards.

Yelp
I went with a group of six at 530 pm and they were so welcoming and sat us almost immediately! Our server as phenomenal!! He gave us great recommendations and was very attentive. The food was all delicious!! It is a fun take on bar food and next time I want to try the ramen! I had the Diablo burger and it was super tasty!! 10/10 recommend! I also ordered a salad instead of fries and it was so fresh and an amazing dressing!! The margarita was also great! Such a unique flavor and actually had a little kick to it! Cannot wait to go back.

Yelp
A delicious spot for dinner and a drink! I had their fried chicken sandwich and it was juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The service was patient (we were chatty and didn't look at the menu), and kind. The bar had a fun and lovely atmosphere too! I would definitely return if in the area!
google avatar

Tammy E.

Yelp
Finally came in here for brunch for the avocado benedict - so glad I did! The egg was perfectly poached atop a delicious mix of a sort of pico de gallo and fresh avocado. The English muffin was toasted and buttered just right, and the entree was wholly satisfying. I subbed out the potatoes for the Caesar salad side, and it, too, was just right. The service was very good and parking out front was easy to find. Free street parking on Sundays and holidays make this an ideal place for brunch on those days! I look forward to coming back here for lunch, dinner, or happy hour!

Yelp
Updating review and not a fan of this place anymore. Went here with some friends and they didn't give us water for a really long time. Then one of us got up to get our own water and we heard the servers talking about us. One of them said "look she's getting her own water" and our server said "oh good for her" but didn't come to help?! She kept ignored us even though we made eye contact with her and other waiters who got her attention. Felt like she was doing it on purpose. We said no bacon in one of our dishes but it still came with bacon. Which is fine it happens and she ended up removing it off our final check but since she never checked on us again we couldn't get it replaced. She was clearly ignoring us and talking to her coworker about us instead. Very weird.

Yelp
Great and super wide selection of food and drinks!! We loved the cheesy bacon perogies, spicy margaritas, and fish tacos. The ambience was fun and bustling on a Thursday evening and they were playing both the NFL and Mariners games on their TVs. Personable server as well.

Yelp
Went here for Date night and loved it! The bar food is amazing. Wings, salads, and burgers are the best! They even have a great reverse happy hour starting at 9p during the week. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I drizzled some olive oil all over this beet dip and it was delicious. I also tried their chicken tenders and it was crispy and well seasoned.

Yelp
The vibe and location are great, and the staff is friendly. However, the drinks were pretty average. They mentioned a few mango and tiramisu-flavored drinks coming up for June, which I might go back to try.

Yelp
I've been to Local Public Eatery too many times to count. However on April 14, I enjoyed the experience to another degree. Kailey (mgr) and Chris ( bartender) made the experience a special occasion. Many of my visits have been exceptional. Some have been unforgettable and this was one. Thank you to all the staff members who I have met over the years and have become dear to me.

Yelp
Busy gastropub in the heart of SLU. Clean, good service, friendly staff. Food is pretty good and comes out pretty quickly. Loved their crispy chicken sandwich. I do wish they would bring back the poutine!
google avatar

Roger G.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and great food. I had the garlic edamame to start and it had a really strong but not overpowering flavor. Delicious. For the entree I had the breakfast burger, with two over easy eggs, American cheese and bacon. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the sandwich tasted great. The onion rings were hot, crispy and tasty. Our server was prompt and friendly. Great meal!

Yelp
Solid place to have fun with friends. Very friendly staff with a great food and beer selection. Large TVs for games as well in the main room/bar area.

Yelp
Local public eatery is an okay spot to eat, a good option for workday lunches with a group of people. Came here for a team lunch, and wasn't super busy. The vibe is pretty upbeat and casual. With all the offices around, they have lots of seating and can accommodate larger groups which is always good. Food-wise, we ordered the roti, fried chicken, and potato bites as appetizers and I ordered the fish and chips. The appetizers were overall pretty good with the exception being that the fried chicken was a bit salty. The fish and chips was not so good though. The fries were good, the slaw was fine, but the fish was not great. Usually you'd want a nice crunchy exterior, and a flaky fish center. But it was more crunch outside, then mushy semi cooked batter and mushy fish inside. Overall, not bad, the place is a bit expensive for what they have, food is okay, service is good. It is definitely good for team outings.
google avatar

Yelp
I've always been pretty impressed but the food options here and the service. It does have a local feel to it with some pretty taste menu items. The staff here also have always been pretty down to earth making you feel welcome.

Charles S.

Yelp
Super friendly food server! The fried chicken sandwich was on point. The wife enjoyed the Poke bowl. Nice atmosphere. Music was a little odd for our taste. Noisy lunch crowd. Everyone was having a good time! Popular lunch spot for sure.

Yelp
Zoe has been amazing. 2nd day as a bartender and it seems she is a natural. Amazing service, great food, and better drinks. Jack and McKenna have provided amazing service as well. Overall amazing service

Yelp
Came here for Brunch while out and about in SLU. The simple name that follows through with its namesake is what you get. The ambience and setting suits the area. Definitely a hangout for the younger crowd. Lots of large tables, so it's good for groups, counter seating and VIP style booths for 2-4 people. Seated right away on a Sunday afternoon. Had a couple of waitstaff rotating off helping us, both were very friendly and helpful. I started with cold Boundary Bay brew as it was among the happy hour drinks. For meal, I got the Braised beef and bacon hash. Fried egg, braised beef, caramelized onions, bacon and pickled peppers on crispy potatoes. Nice presentation and tasted pretty good overall, but as I was afraid of, the potato to meat ratio was a bit lopsided. some bits of bacon here and there, some cuts of beef and a lot of potato. Not bad, but steep for the about $21 price. So, I think the strong suit here is happy hour with some starters, maybe some of the other mains are better, but I think on a return visit I'd keep it simpler.

Yelp
First time coming here and it was great! We came here on a Friday night and got seated immediately despite it being very busy. Ordered a burger and a Moscow Mule. The burger was pretty good, not my favorite but also can't really go wrong with a burger. There were sports games playing on the TVs and music playing as well. Our waiter was attentive and friendly.
google avatar

Jose G.

Yelp
We went to Local for the Super Bowl and the atmosphere was great. We could hear the game being called but it wasn't so loud that we count talk. Food and drinks were great! We got the Korean BBQ Bowl and Local Burger and they tasted great. The server we had was attentive and friendly.
google avatar

Wendi K.

Yelp
Casual but trendy restaurant/bar located in downtown SLU. The food is high quality and well done, though a tad on the pricier side but I'd say the value matches up. Tried: Roti ($17.25) - Nice buttery layered flatbread with a creamy coconut curry dipping sauce. Calabrian Caesar Salad ($17) - This was wonderful and I don't even order salads! BBQ Pork Bowl ($22.50) - really tasty! The Bulgogi is super sweet though. Big airy space with plenty of TVs around to watch the game.
google avatar

Simon K.

Yelp
Hip local pub with great food and a wide variety of items on the menu. They have everything from burgers to Asian bowls to curry. Hand-made roti & curry was excellent. Fresh light airy moist roti bread. Curry with sophisticated flavor, and not spicy. Spicy garlic edamame had a wonderful glaze on it, almost like teriyaki. BBQ rice bowl with Korean beef bulgogi was awesome and tender. It came with a fried egg that I mixed into the rice. Fish and chips was great too. They have a large variety of beer, wine, and cocktails. I liked the Holy Mountain witbier.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Great food! Slow service! Modern open space and cool wood tables. We never ordered any cocktails, but we saw a lot of tables with them and they looked amazing. It was NYE so it was very busy by the time we left....Not so much when we arrived and ordered our food, but still a little packed. I'm hoping it not always busy, but it took us about 45 min to get our food. We got the local burger and the bbq beef bowl. Both were phenomenal, especially the bbq beef bowl. The meat was so soft and tender. The cabbage was nice and crunchy and tangy. Rice was a little mushy but the fried egg was great as well. That was an excellent choice. The burger was very meaty and delicious. I'd like to return to try some other menu options and drinks!
google avatar

Nandini M.

Yelp
I think it would be a great date or celebration spot, but was kind of pricy for the normal meal we were intending. I got the fried chicken ramen which was a was a flavorful spin on the norm and I enjoyed. Also got a boba cocktail was good, though light on the alcohol. Having the popping boba at the top looked nice, but made it difficult to actually get any since by the time they got to the bottom, there wasn't any liquid left to help slurp them up - wish they'd put them at the bottom and had less ice. The wings were lackluster, was expecting them to be a bit more jazzed up beyond standard bar grub. Friend got the deluxe burger (I think) and added an egg, so it's nice to see they do additions. They have an upstairs that looks like it would be a convenient spot for a larger bday dinner or the likes. Overall a trendy spot, but not ideal for a causal dinner.

Yelp
I came in, not to busy as the Sun night game between SEA & Rams near the end, maybe fans left.... Game went to OT, got the fans that are still there excited. Unfortunately, Seahawks lost in OT, just happen I am a rams fan so it was fun to observe quietly to see how fans react. After 6pm is when people start coming for dinner as the place filled up on the bar side. - Foods: Above average burger. Burger came out not as hot and juicy. Onion rings were definitely hot! :). The secret sauce is on the salty side, good flavor. They did allow me to change lettuce with arugula, that is a ++. - Service was great, fast and friendly. - Right restaurant & bar for game nights. Plenty of seating, from bar area to dedicated restaurant and even upstairs! I will be back to try other dishes on the menu.

Yelp
Absolute rockstar bar service from Kimani! Also quite the eclectic selection of draft beers

Yelp
First impressions: A very nice and well designed restaurant. Very specious, and I felt welcoming the moment I walked in. I am probably a little biased since I came from New York, but the restaurant experience just feels better here Food: 10/10 I had a beef hash from the brunch menu. The food is pretty good, but I do wish the potion can be a little bit bigger. I am not a big guy and I still felt a little unsatisfied after the food. Maybe they encourage me to order more food?

Zoranna G.

Yelp
Love the food, staff and atmosphere!! Perfect place to bring the family and watch the games with plenty of TV's! Even have shuffleboard for games for the kids! You have to order the spicy guava margarita!

Yelp
Local favorite for an easy, quick lunch or to sit and watch the busy tech workers buzz around SLU. Thursdays are great in the summer to catch the Farmers Market, buy some flowers and grab a bite while you let the summer soak in through the large, open air windows.

Yelp
I went here on a Sunday afternoon with my nephew. This is a good place to watch football because there are a lot of TVs. It is also good for out of towners because although titled Local Public Eatery, it does not have a lot of Seahawks or Huskies paraphernalia up. It has a nice mix of small tables and big tables for groups. The staff is friendly, but service was spotty. They did a good job taking initial orders and then bringing out food, but did not check in much if we wanted more drinks or dessert. Some others commented on the prices. The food and drinks are not cheap, but kind of expected for the area. They have a good choice of beers--I had a sour and then my nephew had a Blue Crush (with rum) that he really liked. For an appetizer, we got the beet hummus. It was good, but it came with tortilla chips where I would have preferred pita or pita chips. For the main course, I had a crispy chicken sandwich and then upgraded to onion rings. Both were good, the sandwich was definitely crispy with a good flavor and the onion rings were not too greasy. But back to comments on other reviews, not sure if worth over $25. It was a good place to watch some games, but if I go back and I am not sure if I will eat.

Yelp
I have only been to the Local a couple times. The last time was around 11-12 on Thursday. It was surprisingly but pleasantly busy, as opposed to crazy busy. The service was prompt and friendly, and a big shout out to them for docking a plate that a friend didn't enjoy and allowing him to get something else, I think on the house but I'm not quite sure. The food was good. I had the bacon burger with sweet potato fries. I wouldn't send people here to try the burger but for late night grub in a loungy meets sports bar environment, it was serviceable. The sweet potato fries and the aioli were great! My friend was supplemented for the pot stickers, which he thought were "awful" for the wings, which he loved. They were delectably crispy, although after being spoiled with Victor Tavern's enormous wings, I found them a little small, but again, my friend loved them. The drinks were good, but just to get a little picky, the espresso martini could've came in a martini glass rather than something you might serve an old fashioned in. But yea, all in all a good time, with great service. I can see coming here for a game or to wrap up an evening with some conversation and food.

Yelp
Love this place for a great local, American bar experience. Great service with lots of great bar food options and local draft beer. It can get very busy here but we have never had problems getting a table. Vibe: After work/ Happy Hour experience in a great bar ambience. A bit loud especially close to the bar but it gives it a great vibe. Service: Service was amazing with our waiter always asking if there is anything else we need. Welcoming atmosphere. Parking: Parking can sometimes be difficult especially for after hours. I would recommend walking but usually around the block you will find some spots.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was super busy and crazy loud. If you're easily overstimulated maybe skip it. Apparently we hit the time when all the nearby workers jam into the establishment after their shifts. The service was super friendly and understanding. I ordered a beer and we left. It was a little too much for me after a long day of travel. I recommend their selection of local brews! Nicole's choice Pale Ale was spot on.

Yelp
Great food, drinks & ambiance was what we were looking for on Super Bowl Sunday, the quality of service did not miss a beat! Shout out to the local staff & management! A+

Yelp
First night in town and in search of a place for dinner that wasn't too far from our hotel (it was walking distance). It was definitely a sports bar kind of place that also serves food versus a more family friendly place to eat (minors are allowed, but menu offerings may be limited). It was busy and there were plenty of people at the bar side of the restaurant. We were seated right away and given menus. They offer a variety of foods--burgers, sandwiches, Asian inspired, Mexican--something for everyone. We ordered the hand made roti (I couldn't get enough of the curry dipping sauce), Malaysian curry bowl, fried chicken ramen, and the Deluxe burger. Both the roti and the curry bowl were absolutely delicious. The ramen was definitely satisfying for that cold evening. The chicken was nicely fried, crisp & not greasy--the combination paired well. The fried chicken was also served separately from the ramen, so it was not a soggy piece of chicken! We also had the beermosa and I've never had anything like it and honestly the lager with OJ was delicious. I wanted to chug it, but that wouldn't have been very ladylike! I'll drink this over the traditional mimosa any day--I just hope I can find it back home. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and was very satisfying. If you are in the area on holiday or business or just simply looking for an after work hangout--look no further.

I came in to watch the UFC fight night and had a great time! Love how attentive and friendly the staff was, and they made sure we were taken care of. Can't wait to go back - I'd definitely bring friends and family here for a good drink, generous portioned dinner, and a laided back night out!
