I believe there's no better way to finish off a trip than with some high-end, delicious food. After a ton of research for fine dining in the area, we'd settled on Local thanks to the several unique options they offer and their cozy, yet upscale interior.
Our group had come in hungry, skipping lunch earlier in the day, so naturally we'd ended up ordering half the menu. We'd ordered everything to arrive at once, which included a small serving of focaccia house bread /w gourmet butter, truffle mac n cheese, arugula salad, bone marrow, lollipop lamb tenderloin, rainbow trout, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, truffle fries, wild sautéed mushrooms, and a slice of key lime pie for dessert.
Service was friendly, we had a fun and hospitable host who chauffeured us to our table and got to know us for a bit. Our first plates took about 40 minutes to arrive, but given it being a Friday night in a packed house for one of the most popular tourist destinations in the planet I can give them a bit of leeway there.
460 Focaccia - not complementary, solid, loved the gourmet butter and olive oil they'd used. I'm a huge bread guy, this checks out.
Blackened Idaho Trout - crisp, seared rainbow trout, in white cheddar grits served over a lobster cream sauce. Solid, it did the job.
Lamb Lollipops - fun name, gorgeous plating with a thin pool of chimichurri adorned with a cloud of radish above, which was a work of art surrounding the tender, delicious lamb shank. I was told this was halal, which made it all the better for me.
Truffled Mac & Cheese - best dish of the night, could eat a couple sides of these as a meal alone. It was incredibly savory, melt-in-your-mouth, and exploding with flavor with every bite. Can't wait to come back sometime and try it again.
Sautéed Seasonal Wild Mushrooms - Not my favorite, this was my least favorite dish of the night. It was bland and lacking flavor.
Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes - This was okay, but could've been better. It was a little bland.
Truffle Fries - Super crisp and delicious Idaho potato fries, served with a couple of dipping sauces.
Arugula Salad - One of my guilty pleasures is a good salad decked in cheese. Loved the addition of parmesan on here, and overall it meshed well with the lemon and olive oil.
Key Lime Pie - the best key lime I've ever had. Topped off with whipped mascarpone, it made for a nice combo with the delicious, buttery, pot pie like base, and sweet key lime filling within. I could eat this all day.
