"Local is the rare Jackson spot with white linen napkins instead of paper ones. It might be the fanciest spot in town, filled with paintings on the wall by local artists and dishes made up of ingredients grown as close to the restaurant as possible. Even in a town dedicated to its meat, the burger here stands out. They use a blend of ribeye, New York strip, and filet mignon, grill it so it’s got a nice char, and serve it on a perfectly toasted brioche bun with a few slathers of tangy homemade mayonnaise. Local is also a great move if you just want to stop by the bar for an order of fries made from Idaho potatoes. Check out Million Dollar Cowboy Bar next door, where you can listen to a live country band while sitting on undeniably fun saddle barstools." - lanie brice
