Local Tide is a cozy Fremont seafood spot serving up fresh, high-quality dishes like crab rolls, rockfish bowls, and even a killer smashburger, all with an inviting vibe.
"Local Tide is a stellar one-stop shop for exciting seafood-based genius. This counter in Fremont deserves a medal for its creamy smoked belly dip alone, served with paper-thin potato chips tossed in a house seasoning that you can and should purchase. But their lineup of sandwiches, like the seared albacore on griddled sourdough or a McDonald’s-style Filet-O-Fish copycat made with panko-coated dover sole, proves that phenomenal Seattle seafood doesn’t have to involve salmon or chowder. But you know what? Local Tide has great salmon and chowder too." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley
"If you're looking for a sandwich filled with things that come from the ocean, Local Tide in Fremont is a great one-stop shop. Their lineup includes a weekend-only crab roll accented with lemony mayo and chives, a spicy little sourdough number with seared albacore and fresno chiles, or a McDonald’s-style Filet-O-Fish copycat made with panko-coated dover sole. It all proves that phenomenal Seattle seafood doesn’t have to involve salmon or chowder." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

"Local Tide’s lineup of mostly seafood-based sandwiches involves simple preparations of high-quality fish. You’ll want to seek out the medium-rare salmon BLT and the crunchy fried dover sole with american cheese and tartar that should rightfully make McDonald’s jealous. It’s pretty easy to secure a table even on a weekend, but you could also grab takeout and head to Gasworks Park. Orders of the house potato chips with smoky salmon belly dip and pork fat-spiked shrimp toast are not optional." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley
"Fremont’s Local Tide is a seafood dream, a former pop-up that drew long lines in particular for its impeccable Dungeness crab roll with house mayo on a griddled split-top bun, currently available in limited quantities Friday through Sunday. Owner Victor Steinbrueck, who shares a name with his grandfather — the architect who led the charge to protect Pike Place Market from demolition in the 1960s — has melded fast-casual vibes with painstaking sourcing and prep for a concise menu of hits from a rockfish banh mi to salmon teriyaki over red rice. This attention to detail carries through to the design, which shines thanks to touches like light fixtures carved by Steinbrueck’s brother." - Mark DeJoy
