The Best Boston Pizza Places Delivering Right Now

"Locale is a North End pizzeria, but you won’t really find many run-of-the-mill pies here. They do have a margherita, but that’s about the only “classic” on the menu, with options like the sweet pork sausage with broccoli rabe, and a Cacio E Pepe pizza being the main reasons we always have this place in mind. Place an order on Uber Eats for delivery, available Monday to Thursday from 4pm onwards and Friday to Sunday starting at 12pm." - joel ang

The Best Restaurants In The North End

"If you’re looking for a pizza with a nicely charred, almost perfectly puffed crust, Locale is your spot. If you’re need a place that has a reliably great craft beer selection in a neighborhood where almost every other restaurant focuses on wine (but that also has good wine, too), Locale’s got you covered there, too. And if you want a spot that’s on Hanover but down towards the harbor where the tourists don’t usually go, then Locale’s here for you. If you’re still looking for more, then we need to talk about how you live your life because you’re kinda being difficult." - dan secatore

Locale - Review - North End - Boston - The Infatuation

"Locale on Hanover does two things really well: pizza and beer. And since those happen to be two of the greatest things humanity has ever produced, it’s doing alright for itself. This is is a small place on Hanover, but because it’s far down towards the harbor, most of the tourists stay away, giving it more of a neighborhood feel. We love the pie that comes with meatballs and pickled chilies." - Dan Secatore

This trendy, modern spot was a pleasant surprise for our Saturday night dinner. Though the space is small, it has a stylish and inviting atmosphere. The menu is intentionally limited and rotates frequently, ensuring fresh and seasonal offerings. One standout feature is their commitment to handmade pasta, which truly elevates the dining experience. We ordered the ‘nduja pizza and the gnochitelli, both of which we enjoyed. The pizza was excellent—light, flavorful, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The pasta was incredibly fresh and well-executed, though the portion size was quite small. Pricing was reasonable overall, though we found the cocktails and wine to be a bit overpriced. If we return, it would likely be for a drink and a pizza rather than a full meal. Overall, it’s a solid choice for a casual yet refined dining experience, especially if you appreciate handmade pasta and thoughtfully crafted dishes.

Gorgeous service and amazing food (except salted Caesar salad, everything else was gorgeous)! If you’re craving for true European Italian style pizza, definitely a place to stop by! And they don’t put ice into cocktails!

Google
Excellent pizza for takeout! Didn’t feel overly expensive, pizza was very light and flavorful. Great selection and high quality pizza toppings. Caesar salad was plenty big too. I would definitely come back here again for future pizza nights. North End is full of great spots.

Google
I recently visited this restaurant and had a great experience. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, making us feel welcome right from the start. While the selection of pizzas wasn’t very large, we tried «‘nduja» that was a bit on the spicy side. However, the highlight of the meal was definitely the duck pasta – it was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend ordering it if you visit. Overall, we had a wonderful time!

Google
Great food and service! The space is amazing since the renovation. Some of the best pizza I have ever had, highly recommend this place! Great drinks too!

Google
The strawberry Negroni was pretty good if you like Negroni. The Cesar salads were great but the ones with arugula were very over powering. The pizza was fantastic the crust was really good.

Had an opportunity to try Locale for the 1st time. Great overall experience. Thought both the food and service were great. Place is on the small side. Not a ton of seating available, so that could be an issue when busy. Parking in the area on general is terrible and had to use one of the lots down the street. As far as food goes, I started off with the Artichoke dip and felt it was good. Went with Cloud Candy IPA and it wasn't overly hoppy. Went with the Rocco pizza for the main attraction, which is basically an Italian meat lovers. Good amount of toppings and really good overall taste. A little bit of grease, but to be expected. The sauce is what I'd call succulent, very good taste, not bitter. The crust was good, but a little floppy. Not too bad. Good amount of cheese coverage. Lots of options in the area, glad I crossed them off the list. Really good Neopolitan style pizza.

Google
Wonderful. Our server was incredibly friendly and the pizza and baked ricotta was all delicious! Enjoyed a nice seat by an open window on a gorgeous afternoon.

Yelp
Disappointed in the newly reopened Locale. Instead of their previous focus on simple, delicious pizzas at attractive price points, they clearly are prioritizing their new bar area. The new food menu is okay. The meatballs were totally fine, the Nduja and Margherita pizzas were better, and the Lumache and Casoncelli pastas were lacking in flavor...additionally, the plating was leaving something to be desired for the pastas. I was pretty bummed, as pre-renovation, Locale was a place I frequented. I will likely not be back as the new changes have greatly decreased both the quality of food and the dining experience, as well as the value as prices have gone up significantly.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings for Locale. We walked in and grabbed bar seats right away. The server was very good and took care of us right away. Things I liked - My pizza - the dough was delicious, the shaved fennel was delicious My Aperol Spritz was good, the addition of olives is strange but not bad My husband had the PAPPARDELLE and it was good, I liked the currants, a new twist for pasta for me. Things that could be better- My pizza could have had a lot more of the spicy sausage. It only had maybe 4-5 small pieces on the entire thing The PAPPARDELLE could have had a lot more actual meat in the meat sauce Neither of us cared for the corn polenta. It had a taste that we didn't care for. The saffron aioli was bland and tasteless. All in all it was a good meal. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but I also wouldn't tell anyone not to go there.

Yelp
In a sea of Italian restaurants it can be hard to pick out a solid choice in the North End but I'm glad to say Locale was a great dinner option! We were in the mood for pizza and Locale was the perfect choice. The space is very cute, staff is super friendly with their service and the food and drinks were really good and fresh. Ordered an aperol spritz and margherita pizza. The pizza was delicious and a good portion. Really fresh and flavorful. The drink was tasty as well. Good prices were also a plus! Would definitely come back here

Yelp
Locale has a small dining room and a large bar which overall is very modern compared to some of the other restaurants in the area. The menu is tightly defined but packed with flavor. It really makes it hard to choose! However, I would recommend the focaccia with garlic butter. It's delightful! The service at the bar is definitely prompt and the bartender definitely monitors and adjusts his engagement based on the patrons desired level, which is appreciated. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for an upscale approach to Italian in the North End.

Yelp
Great Spot! We ate at Little Sage, their sit down experience! Had a great meal and the service was excellent! Would recommend to anyone looking for a fresh and modern Italian meal.

Yelp
If I could give ten stars I would! We took a chance and showed and they and they were happy to fit us in. The staff was helpful and attentive and ensured that we had a memorable dinner. They truly care about their guests. Local is a special place. FRESHLY made pasta cooked perfectly, slightly al dente and savory reminds me of Italy. Very impressive flavor while still keeping it relatable. The pizza was hands down the best I have had in a long time. The venison pizza was so incredible that we ordered an extra pizza to take home. Our experience at Local was nothing short of exceptional. It exceeded our expectations. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Yelp
Bread was $4 much worth it finally something was salted. Both pasta dishes made in house and knocked my socks off. They were extremely nice here and some how the best food we had in Boston.
google avatar

Jin S.

Yelp
Quick and easy service. It's located right in north end in Boston. Parking is tough but it's also Boston so you will find that everywhere. The inside was small. The restaurant has its own pizza oven. I ordered the garlic bread and pepperoni pizza. The pizza was thin and chewy.

Yelp
We walked by this resto in the North End. Couldn't find a yelp rating ( My Northstar) but was full and lively. Luckily we got a table within minutes. Amazing! Truly great! The ciabatta with whipped ricotta, blood oranges and walnuts and rosemary! Phenomenal homemade pastas followed. This is a must try. We will definitely be back. Oh- and Seth our waiter- great service and on point with his recommendations!
google avatar

Yelp
Honestly probably the best pizza I've had in Boston. Dough was light and fluffy. Best caesar salad I've had as well. And the bread appetizer with duck confit garlic butter was incredible. All in all incredible meal. The venison on the pie melted in your mouth.
google avatar

Emma C.

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Came for pizza but left trying 3 different pastas on the menu. The lobster pasta was the best pasta I've ever had in my life. The restaurant is on the pricier side, but 100% worth it.

Yelp
Amazing pizza and pasta dishes. Very friendly and attentive staff. Service was wonderful. Ambiance is comforting and very clean! Love it Get the Caesar salad and short rib dishes!!!

Yelp
Great pizza spot with cozy vibe and friendly service. Made a reservation and were seated without problem. Flavors were nice and balanced; pizza was thin (just the way I like it) with refined seasoning They also have wine and cocktail options. Such a treat to have dinner here on a snowy day in Boston!

Yelp
We came on a super busy Saturday evening and got seated right away. Tables are tiny as the inside of this restaurant is quite small but we got it to work. Food was seriously incredible. The crostini was by far my favorite dish and the homemade meatballs on our pizza were the best I have ever eaten! Super cute inside and just an overall awesome place to get some pizza! I am glad we ran into this place on our last evening in Boston. Not sure if they take reservations but the service was quick so they rotate the tables at a decent pace.
google avatar

Robin B.

Yelp
The place was empty when we arrived at 6:30. Once the appetizers came, we were reassured. The focaccia & Brussels sprouts were the best thing we ordered, but the pizza and pastas were also delicious-especially the pumpkin. It was a leisurely paced dinner and the dining room filled up. You may need to request your check.

Yelp
Stopped at Locale for lunch in the north end. The restaurant is on the smaller side but has a nice open feel as the kitchen is viewable from the the dining area. The menu is mostly pizza, appetizers and salads and they do offer a small cocktail, wine and beer menu. We got a Margherita and pepperoni pizza and both were very good. You can tell these use the freshest ingredients and the crust had a nice crisp. If you're looking for pizza in the north end I would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Adina S.

Yelp
Locale is one of the more casual spots in the North End. They do offer sandwiches during some lunch hours and have a few appetizers and salads on the menu, but they really specialize in pizza, so I would recommend trying a different spot in the area if you're looking for a wider range of options. I went to Locale on a Sunday evening and it was pretty busy, so if you're hoping to come at a popular time, I would definitely make a reservation. In terms of the pizza, we ordered the Piccante, which was essentially pepperoni, and the Margherita. I enjoyed the Piccante, which was a bit oily, but had a nice flavor to it. The Margherita wasn't anything particularly special, but I still liked the flavor of the sauce and the texture of the crust. The pizzas were a good size for an individual, but if you're not too hungry, you could probably share. For pizza in Boston, this is a solid option.

Sam B.

Yelp
New menu is great but this was a pretty disappointing portion. Ordered this to-go. $25 for this, really? Definitely felt like a ripoff. Loved this place before the renovations and new menu and my first experience since the reopening was good when I dined in, but this time was seriously lacking.

Yelp
This is exactly what an Italian wants to eat in restaurants. Everything was outstanding. Great variety of apps, unique delicious homemade pasta dishes and an amazing wine list. FINALMENTE!!!!

Yelp
On a cold and rainy Sunday, the Red Sox game we were at got rained out in the 7th inning. We were craving some hot pizza and decided to trek all the way to the North End to get it. It took us one hour to get there, but we made it! It was late in the afternoon, so not quite dinner yet. There were only 3 other tables occupied when we walked in, so we were seated right away. I love that Locale is tucked away in the back of Hanover, so it's way less busy than the front part by Mike's. Our server came over right away and took our order since we were starving. We ordered the caesar salad, the cacio e pepe pizza, and the meatball pizza. Holy cow, it was amazing! To start, my husband and I both agreed that the salad was probably the best caesar we've ever had. The romaine was so fresh and crunchy, and the dressing wasn't too heavy. We ate the whole thing. My cacio e pepe pizza was phenomenal. I loved the freshly cracked pepper on top and all the cheese. I thought I'd have a slice or 2 left to take back to our hotel room....but I was wrong since I ate it all lol. My husband loved his meatball pizza too. Service was fast and friendly, but since it was mostly empty they just left us to hang out and take our time which we appreciated. We agreed we will 100% be coming back the next time we're in Boston!

Amber P.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants on this Boston trip. The pasta was perfection. Meatballs were so tender and delicious. Yummy cocktails too. The server, Seth, was very friendly and attentive. Don't miss out on this!

Mary H.

Yelp
We recently returned to Locale, and it was excellent again. Highly recommend the pasta! We had the cacio e Pepe and the pumpkin pasta, which is really delicious.

Yelp
If you go expecting the same ol' same ol' North End Italian, don't bother! But if you're looking to have your socks blown off, you must try Locale. The re-vamped upscale, homemade Italian is phenomenal. You can tell they took time curating a beautiful menu to go along with the renovations. From start to finish everything was fantastic. Hats off to the chef

Yelp
I was excited to try this restaurant after reading the reviews, however I was pretty disappointed. I made reservations for a busy weekend night, but I don't think they cared because they didn't confirm the name. The food was ok. We got garlic toast because others wanted it, I wasn't a fan. I wanted a lot more garlic. We got the Parma "Due" and Marinara pizza. Parma "Due" had some good flavors, however, it was a little undercooked. Too much arugula for me, but that can easily be adjusted. The Marinara is a good option for vegans, but it was only ok. Half the pizza lacked sauce. Service wasn't great, but they seemed very understaffed. The waitress said she would be back to clean the table, she only cleaned the tables around us but never our table. It took almost 10 minutes for anyone to get us a menu (QR code) and waters. I would rate it a 2.5/5, rounding it up to a 3/5.

Yelp
Amazing pizza!!! Little cafe, with tiny tables, the staff AMAZING! Everything about the food and service is awesome. The pizza reminded us of Naples Italy. Seriously delicious with thin crust & perfectly cooked. It's a local favorite, busy with families & couples, just buzzing with energy. The staff is quick to seat us, friendly & attentive. A must.
google avatar

Abby R.

Yelp
We came here over a weekend to see the Celts play. We wanted a casual night in the north end. The pizza here is great. We ordered a Caesar salad to share and a couple pizzas. The service was very good, plenty of napkins and check-ins for refills on drinks. The pizza had great crust and delicious sauce. The meatball and ricotta were very fresh and not heavy at all. Just like many places on Hanover, the seating is tight. Make a reservation if you can; but because the service is good, the wait shouldn't be too long.

Chris Z.

Yelp
Good pizza ,Margarita, small order 2 if you are hungry. Authentic beer, decent vibe. Service was good.
google avatar

Yelp
I love, love this restaurant! There are so many restaurants in the North End, especially for pizza and Locale is definitely our go-to. We have been here before but it was a long time ago. This time was much different since it was in February and it was not crowded at all. We literally had the restaurant to ourselves when we went. They had a delicious wine and beer selection too. And a lot of variety to choose from when it comes to pizza. We started off with their Ceasar Salad which was good and a good portion too. We then had the prosciutto pizza which was excellent. It could've used more time to cook but it still was really good. And our server whose name I don't remember was awesome. We will definitely be back this summer.

Jared M.

Yelp
Very nice place for valentines dinner. Pizza and pasta was amazing I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a less busy north end lunch/dinner.
google avatar

Charlotte M.

Yelp
Amazing time here last night! The drinks were balanced and delicious and the service was excellent. We were seated quickly and everything came out so fast! The pesto pizza was amazing. Thin crust and crispy but soft inside. Highly recommend this place if you're in the North End!
google avatar

Katie H.

Yelp
Sit down but casual, had specials for drinks including a seasonal pumpkin beer which was super pumpkin-y and good! Pizza was made to order and served hot but crust was a little burnt and marg pizza ($16) was a little overloaded with oil. Otherwise, we had a fun time and enjoyed our food + service. One pizza had 6 small-ish slices. Will probably be back to check out some of the other pizzas soon!
google avatar

Grace S.

Yelp
Great Pizza! Meatballs are fantastic! It's a nice light pizza with super fresh ingredients. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
Woooow! This pizza was amazing! I can't say enough good things about Locale... mmmmm I want it again but sadly I don't live close. I don't know why the place was so empty compared to others in the North End, but I would go here all the time if I lived close.

Jill M.

Yelp
Better than ever! First time there since their recent renovations and it was wonderful...The service from Dee on the bar side was impeccable. The food-omg soooooo delicious! 2 apps: ciabatta bread & roasted brussel sprouts, Caesar salad (the best I've had in my life), and the mushroom pizza...I can not say enough good things and can't wait to be back!
google avatar

Prachee K.

Yelp
Pretty solid pizza. One of the better ones in Boston - I've had a few better but many more worse hence 4/5 stars here. Thin crust, with a decent ratio of crust to cheese but not exactly a smoky or leopard charred crust like I hoped. The caramelized onions used for topping were more like just sautéed onions.
google avatar

Melanie K.

Yelp
Some of the best pizza I've had in a long while (garlic bread was mediocre). Cute atmosphere. Quick service. Would be back again!
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
Came here on a whim with my husband for lunch. We were the first customers of the day and got to sit at the cute high top by the window. They have a sandwich menu Friday-Sunday 12-3. We ordered the meatball sub and the Piccante (pepperoni) pizza. The meatballs were unreal. So much flavor. I can't decide what was better the meatballs of the pizza because the pizza was also so full of flavor. Fresh dough cooked in the brick oven JUST RIGHT. Can't wait to go back for more! Service was great also! Love friendly smiling faces!
google avatar

Rebecca G.

Yelp
Good option for a less expensive north end restaurant. The service is quick and you can often get a table without a reservation. The eggplant appetizer was to die for. The pizzas are good as well. Not very fancy, but a favorite for a last minute night out.

Kathryn R Y.

Yelp
Food was delicious. We had pizza, pasta, appetizers - all delicious. Great service. Nice cozy but simple and modern vibe.
google avatar

Joey W.

Yelp
Ordered for their Pistachio Pesto Pizza for takeout. The pistachio pesto pizza was cold after my 5 minute walk so I was disappointed. It seemed like it had been sitting out for awhile even though I came at the pickup time. It was still okay cold but it would've been even better warm. I appreciated how the pistachio pesto wasn't overwhelming because I could still taste the pork sausage. The bottom of the pizza was drenched in oil so it was floppy.

Fat Man Reviews K.

Yelp
While walking the freedom trail through Boston, Fat Man Reviews stopped in the North End to try out Locale. Locale is a modern pizzeria serving gourmet Neapolitan-style pies, wine & craft beer in a quaint ambiance. We started with the Eggplant Rollatini. This is made with eggplant, mozzarella, ricotta, covered in a tomato sauce, and we topped with Parmesan. The marinara is a bit salty, especially with the ricotta. The marinara is simple and full of tomato flavor. The mozzarella is fresh and tasty in the inside and a bit stretchy. The eggplant rolled around the cheese is soft and breaded well. The basil adds a freshness to the dish. The Parmesan added another level of cheesy flavor to the dish. The whole bite has a creaminess to it. It may be a tad soggy on the bottom but most of the texture of the dish is great. We also tried a pizza called the Piccante. This pie comes with homemade tomato sauce, mozzarella and pepperoni. The pepperoni has a nice spice to it and is a bit chewy and there is good amount on the pizza. The dough is stretched to a nice thin crust with a good chew and slight crunch. The pizza is sauced properly to the edge. The cheese is good and tasted fresh, but I feel like it could have used just a bit more on the whole pie to cover it completely. They cook everything in a brick oven Locale serves several varieties of starters, salads, sandwiches and pizzas. The server a lot of local or regional beers and have a nice wine selection. The servers were very friendly and knowledgeable. The place is pretty small, so I highly recommend a reservation. The Fat Man says that Locale is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.

Yelp
Locale hit the spot for a late night bite of pizza after arriving at the airport. This is a very casual spot with some nice outdoor dining. They do take reservations, and we were promptly seated upon arrival. It took quite a while for our server to come to the table, they were crowded with every table busy and seemed to have only 2 servers. That said, once our order was taken, the food arrived quickly and was surprisingly good. We tried a pizza with meatballs, and it arrived piping hot, very thin, with a nice char. There are plenty of pizza options in the north end, and this is a pretty solid pick.

Noe O.

Yelp
We stumbled upon locale after walking the north end trying to find bar seating for two, which the first 5 restaurants we tried had none of. It was a bruins game so everything was packed! We were seated immediately at Locale and it was a fantastic experience all the way around. We had phenomenal service by our waitress, and the four appetizer/tapas-style dishes we had were great. We had the octopus, Brussels sprouts, meatballs, and farro salad. We also had two gin Negronis each (we were planning on only one but they were so good that we ordered another round!). The place seems really new, so I recommend checking it out before it becomes too popular to get a table!

Yelp
Locale is a cozy pizza parlor with a variety of toppings fresh tasty toppings. I made reservations through Yelp for 7pm on a Thursday, but it wasn't that busy. The restaurant seats 25ish people and has a clean, modern look. I had the Piccante, basically pepperoni pizza (thank goodness I'm typing because I can't pronounce this correctly for a million dollars). The server recommended I try a honey that specifically goes with the Piccante. It was a hard no for me. I'm sure it's popular, but honey in pizza is a weird combo imo. My friend had the Parma Due (arugula, fig, and prosciutto), it felt like I was eating a healthy sandwich because there was a lot of arugula. My friend sweared by it though. The Piccante was amazing though, I have no complaints. The pizzas are the perfect size for an adult. Basically a medium at Dominos. Service was chill, it felt like my homies or cousins were serving me (that's plus for me). I'd come here again for sure!!

Yelp
Accidentally stumbled on Locale on a busy Friday, which happened to be their grand re-opening night. Not sure what the ambiance was before, but in its new iteration, the place is modern yet comfy, with an open kitchen and dining space in one half, and a bar in the other. The two of us were seated immediately even without a reservation, and were quickly brought the two delicious, light Palomas we'd ordered. Had the whipped mozzarella and poblano appetizer, a classic Margherita pizza, and the duck ragu. All of it was superb...only wish there'd been more of it to eat! Service was awesome. The proprietor was clearly enjoying herself at the re-opening, welcoming everyone, circulating, saying hi to old friends coming in to celebrate. A very genuine, warm, local North End vibe. Unfortunately, we saw several parties come in expecting a straight pizza menu and leave after five minutes of looking over the new, improved offerings. I guess if you're looking only for a wide variety of pizza, this isn't the place for you anymore, but if you want scrumptious, carefully prepared food in a vibrant atmosphere, then it is! We'll be back...

Grace C.

Yelp
wow even the ciabatta blew me away. but the duck ragu. WOW. i mean it was so good i ate it extremely slowly so as to prolong the experience. def go here

Anthony G.

Yelp
I ate at Locale the opening weekend of its reopening and it is a MUST try and worth a stop in Boston's beautiful North End. The pasta dishes (particularly the braised duck ragu and lobster casarecce) are some of the best you will find in the city, and the brand new, beautiful bar is a perfect date night spot (what a lovely window line!), which has one of the better wine lists in Boston. And how could I forget their pizzas(!), which are still amongst the best of Boston. Most importantly, the owner and staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, making you feel right at home (or in one of the best Italian restaurants in Italy!). Don't forget to grab a cannoli at Modern post dinner!
google avatar

Melody H.

Yelp
Review is only for the parma due pizza. Kind of underwhelmed. Only had like three figs and the rest of the pizza could have used more sweetness to balance out the salty/fattiness of the prosciutto imo. Crust was nice and chewy but would have liked it a bit crispier on the bottom. Overall ok. Would come back to try the margarita which everyone else seems to be raving about!

W C.

Yelp
Can good food, good service, and good value all be had in the North End under one roof? Locale proves that you can. This is one of my go-to spots. The pizza is delicious, and the alcohol selections are pretty good too. I'd suggest pizza margarita. It's a bit crowded, but it's well-lit and not uncomfortable. Service is friendly and quick, and compared to many other North End restaurants the prices are exceptional. For two people, you can get a good dinner, drinks, and cover the tip for $50 or less, a rarity for the North End!
