It was a darling place with delicious food. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating to my family. The place itself was extremely small and they only had 1 bathroom. The food did not come out around the same time so most of the party was done before I was able to start. That being said, I would still recommend it, the tri tip sandwich was delicious and the waitress that helped us was very friendly. Come ahead if you have a large party, I would suggest only having a max of 4 people.

Excellent and friendly service! Felt really good after eating here! I had a Western burger. Their burger meat is carrot raised and carrot finished! Really impressed with everything here. I had an Italian soda, organic cauliflower wings, and organic sweet potato fries. Wish we had this place in Oklahoma!

Got the bacon+fig burger and it was pretty good! The fries are delicious, too. The ranch was absolutely bomb 🔥🔥🔥The Fresca drink was super refreshing. Service was not the best though, waitress kept forgetting things for our table and it was not busy from what we could see. Expect a long wait for the food to be out, but I gotta admit it was well worth the wait.

Came in for lunch. They are pet friendly. 3 separate outdoor seating areas with shade and heaters. 2 separate indoor dining areas and it looked like a Togo window. Parking lot plus street parking. Great menu, enough vegetarian options or things you can take the meat off of. Beer and wine for drinks. Service was great and friendly.

Amazing! The beef has such great flavor. It's a lovely little place and the staff is great! Haven't been disappointed yet. High quality food.

Love this spot! It’s changed a lot over the years and I do miss a lot with the updates they’ve made. I used to go quite often, but not as much since they have stopped doing the fried green beans…those were the absolute best thing on their menu! We do love their burgers—unique combinations with fantastic flavor profiles. You can tell they use high quality ingredients. The stone fruit salad is also a major win, as well as the tuna sandwich. Great little spot for lunch. The interior is beautiful and unique!

My family never spent more than a meals worth of time in Bakersfield before, traveling from northern to Southern California or vice versa. While this time was no different in that regard it was certainly more memorable because of the food and people at Locale. We arrived at Locale just after opening to a mostly empty restaurant. It was decorated in a modern, trendy style using art from locals. When we asked to eat outside because we were traveling with a dog they offered us an empty room in the back to keep us out of the cold. We were served our drinks, including a really yummy fresh made juice for my son, and given a complimentary appetizer that we all devoured. It seems like the menu might rotate somewhat but the chefs allowed us something off menu for our kids who are picky eaters. My wife and I ordered sandwiches that were made with fresh ingredients and well prepared. They also had a variety of salads and hamburgers and other new American fare on the menu. We left feeling like everyone here went above and beyond to accommodate us and ensure we were satisfied with our food and visit. It was nice to get a small taste of Bakersfield on our trip this time around and hope we can return soon to try some more of the dishes.

Locale Farm to Table Eatery is a locally sourced restaurant with sustainable and organic ingredients. It's one of my favorite places to stop on roadtrips. There's a small lot and street parking. For the food: The Best of the Best Combo is a good way to try different options on the menu. I loved the options I ordered: Tri-tip Melt and Stone Fruit Salad. It's a generous salad portion, refreshing and packed with ingredients.

A cute little cafe in the middle of downtown. Has a great patio outside. I got the TriTip Melt and house made onion rings. The toast was the perfect crisp without injuring the roof of my mouth. The steak was incredibly tender and juicy. It was a cheesy heaven with the complement of the chimichurri oozing an amazing olive oil. The onion rings were golden crispy goodness with the perfect cook on the onion. The sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts were fresh and delicious. Everything kept its vibrant taste. The bacon was the perfect compliment. We missed taking a picture of the complimentary appetizer which was goat cheese, caramelized onions and basalmic glaze. The server was a sweet girl with attentive service.

This was such a gem We were headed to Sacramento and needed to eat. I found them on yelp and man oh man!! They had me at the bidet in the bathroom!! I can't say thank you enough!! The food, art and service was phenomenal! Vanessa we appreciate you! Also happy 10 year celebration many more to come! We will definitely be back!! I haven't stopped thinking about the potato and leek soup!

Great food, cute patio seating with little mist sprayers to keep you cool on a hot summer day. We were passing through town and liked the sound of an organic , seasonal menu. The food did not disappoint. The server brought out a complimentary appetizer to celebrate the restaurant's 10 yr anniversary; what a nice surprise! Everyone loved their sandwich &salad combos. We admired many burgers at the nearby tables and agreed that we better try one next time we pass through town.

I stopped in for lunch with a friend, the menu is basically amazing... and the way it's plated and served is fantastic. They have some options that are gluten free, which is a yes in my book. I saw on the menu they have brunch and bottomless mimosas. Hmmmm, sounds like I need to do some brunching and antiquing soon! My only reservation about giving this place five stars is that the service is a bit slow, so if you need to wrap up in an hour, you may be late!

They are now open for dinner and have some super tasty specialty items not on the regular menu so make sure to ask. Dinner is more intimate and romantic. You can tell that their service trickles down from the owner herself. Hospitality at its best.

I had to stop by the Post Office and needed some lunch. I don't know why, but I am probably one of the last people to try this place. It was time to try it. Yes, it looks like an old gas station. There are two dining areas. I sat in the north dining room. It was a bit noisy, but I had my pods in, so it wasn't much of a problem. I was eating alone today. If I wanted to have a conversation, I would likely eat outside. I ordered the Chicken Parm Sandwich. This is a good sandwich. Very filling. The chicken was tender. They serve extra sauce on the side. The roll was perfect for this sandwich. The service was wonderful, and the food came out in a timely manner. This is a good place for lunch in downtown Bakersfield. Give it a try. I don't know what took me so long.

The food here is always amazing and the owner is first class! The staff are always super friendly and provide great service. I try to keep my choices simple, not too fancy, so I ordered the Turkey & Bacon Cheddar Melt. Everything about it is mouthwatering. House brined turkey, tomatoes, uncured applewood smoked bacon, and chipotle ranch in between two perfectly toasted sourdough pieces of bread. And you can't go wrong with a basket of sweet potato fries. What was really nice was the unexpected complimentary dish of fromage that had a basalmic glaze with sauted onions and pecans on it. It was accompanied by some toasted pieces of bread and it was very tasty. We sat outside at a quaint little table, but there was plenty of room inside the main dining and in the building in the back that was full of decorated walls full of art from local individuals.

The food was perfect. Burgers are juicy and full of flavor. The service was also great. Went around the lunch time hour and they were on it, attentive. The place itself is pretty small but it does offer outdoor seating as well. They hade a guitarist playing during our visit so it added to the ambiance. A little loud at time but manageable. Would definitely visit again.

We had the sweet potato and Brussels bowl. Wow!!! Delicious and fresh. Large portion - we split it. Totally recommend this amazing place. Sho ur out to the paint a canvas station. Love creative spaces. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Will def return!!

Food was great! But pricey, $15 for just a burger/ melt/ sandwich You get what you pay for because they were amazing, delicious and full of flavor. The fries are an additional $5, along with whatever you're drinking. The service is great, constantly asking if anything is needed. They even bring out a complimentary small dish and it's soooo fresh, really gets your appetite starting. My pastrami melt was juicy, a little more on the wet side with the juices of the pickles and chiles, I wish it was more spicy or they had an option of spicer.

Very artsy ambiance (back room). Looks modern and full of art that is for sale if you wanted to take it home. Service was very nice. Very busy morning one server and even though it was a bit of a wait the hostess kept ensuring we were going to be help and offered to take our drink order and that appetizer was amazing. Food was really good. We had the burger and the apple salad. Really good. If I am around the area I am more than happy to come back.

3.5 stars! Food is so good, fresh, delicious, healthy and local. Service takes a long time. Just be aware the servers are in no rush, expect a leisurely European style meal and to ask for the check. They gave us a free app of bread and olive oil to celebrate their anniversary and that was very sweet. The turkey melt was fine but the salad was great! Perfect salty and sweet toppings. Cauliflower was fine, sauces were a bit off, couldn't put my finger on it. I'd be back but with the understanding that service takes a long time...

This place was better than I expected! We ordered the turkey bacon melt and it was so delicious! Whatever the sauce is they use was so good. It also tasted really fresh and what could be a very heavy sandwich tasted really light. Tony was our waiter and he was really awesome. He was attentive and kind. He brought out this really Delicious complementary appetizer for their 9 year anniversary it was goat cheese, olive oil, olives and just the best deliciousness! We would definitely come back!!

So excited they are now serving dinner!! My favorite lunch spot , for sure. So many beautiful improvements. Penny floor turned out great. I have a friend coming to town and I will be coming in for dinner. Bakersfield native so he is looking forward to seeing the new look. Great place for friends to dine and catch up. First time here last month- April 2025 for afternoon eats. The food was mouthwatering to look at visually. Then to taste it there was a flavor explosion. I had a turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries and onion rings. I drank water& lemon perfect paring with this sandwich. My sister had the veggie sandwich. So much food we ate half there and the rest for dinner that night. We are going back this week.

Food was amazing! The only downside is the service was extremely slow. The ambience was nice and there was a lot of decorative art on the walls

This review is long over due! Before Locale there was union station deli and almost once a week I would go for their tuna melt, it was my favorite. But when Heather purchased the restaurant 9 years ago, I got to watch her transform the space to what it is today. Locale has truly paved the way for restaurants in Bakersfield, it's always ahead of the trends, finding ways to be innovative with food and always supporting the community. The owner Heather is wonderful and she's got kind staff always there to assist you during lunch hours. The Fresca and Brussels Sprouts will always be my favorite menu items, and I love when they run their thanksgiving sandwich special! You have to try it this season! If you're looking for lunch, catering or a fun space to host an event, Locale is cute, good and right downtown!

Was driving through Bakersfield and stopped in for lunch. Service was very quick, and they gave me a free appetizer plate since they're celebrating their 10 year anniversary. The sweet potato & brussel sprouts bowl was SO GOOD! And bringing out the coffee in a small French press? Love it! Already thinking about the next time I'll be passing through town so I can stop here again.

Highly recommend. Really good food. Nice service. Unique location with lots of nice art to check out. Really good iced tea, I hate when you get watery iced tea. We aren't local but this will be our go to spot for stopping to eat when we pass thru.

Great location, Downtown across the street from the Padre Hotel. Very cool exterior with outside seating and a cool patio. Interior was even cooler, wish I would have took a pic but we chose to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Inter was very trendy and had a few decorative trees with pink blossoms and modern tiles! Service was quick and friendly. I ordered the turkey with habanero jelly with onion rings and an iced tea. My partner ordered aolie chicken, sweet potato fries and an iced coffee. Patio was a great vibe downtown and weather was perfect! Food came out looking delicious and it did not disappoint! My sandwich was so good that I feel I met be addicted to it! I felt good know everything was organic and or locally sourced as were pretty clean eaters. Prices are a little high but worth it to me to eat clean and food was delicious!

10/10 best sweet potato fries in town. I'm always craving Locale, I hope they extend there hours.

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and I'm so glad I did. It's really cute inside and they serve the food on adorable butcher blocks. Everything is super appealing to the eye, including the decor. The service is top-notch being attentive and great about refilling our drinks. It was very busy at lunchtime, but that's to be expected because how great it is for the food so yummy I loved everything especially the potato salad which I'm really picky about. Reminded me a lot of my grandmother's potato salad. I highly recommend.

First customers of the day, on a Saturday. The ambiance is very warming and welcoming. More customers, came along that consisted of other couples and families. I knew my food looked yummy, but everyone else's food looked just as amazing. I felt liked this place needs a Michelin Star or least some recognition. Waitress was amazing, and very helpful and answered any menu questions. The quality was great and definitely wil be coming back.

This is a cute local restaurant. The servers were great and very friendly. The inside is small but cute and they have outdoor seating. The food was solid. We got the All American burger and it had great flavor. The onion rings were not my favorite because they were a little sweet. The Tri tip melt sandwich was excellent. We got the fig salad and it was perfectly dressed with bacon, green apple, and bacon. They also gave us a free appetizer. It was roasted garlic, goat cheese, nice olive oil and salt with toast points. It was quite delicious.

Fantastic! The service was great and the food was awesome. This isn't a place that is doing the same old tired dishes you see on every menu. These dishes are expertly crafted with local ingredients and I have not had anything from here yet that I wouldn't order again.

It didn't start as well as it finished, when we got in there. The only way to get a menu is by capturing with the QR code of your phone. I still prefer a paper menu and I wasn't offered one. Our wait was short, we were just at lunch time on the Monday after thanksgiving, our server came and gave us a nice cold glass of water with fresh lemon, followed by an order of a double IPA, and a bottomless glass of champagne. Side of the truffle devil food eggs came next, then our sandwich, which we split a wholly habanero with a side of fries. Next a complementary board of olive oil, goat cheese, and roasted garlic with crudités on the side. Overall it was a wonderful experience, they even have a musician on the side playing and singing with her guitar. Looking forward to going again.

Really cute, trendy restaurant located downtown in a renovated gas station. There are 10 tables inside and a few outside. Parking is limited, though. There is a separate dining area for larger groups. I was seated quickly, and the waitress brought over water immediately. I ordered the truffle deviled eggs as a starter, then followed it with the sweet potato and Brussel sprouts bowl. The deviled eggs came out on a black slate. They have green onions, bacon, and feta cheese on the. The truffle flavor was very subtle. The bowl had caramelized sweet potatoes, chopped, grilled Brussel sprouts, feta cheese, bacon, a fried, over-easy egg and I added avocado. I ordered the Fresca, which was a mix of watermelon, orange and lemon which was refreshing. It will be on my list of places to return to.

My wife and I found ourselves driving through Bakersfield around lunchtime and we're glad we tried this gem out. The server was sweet and helpful, and the food was delicious and had a unique flare. I had the pastrami sandwich that was terrific. It was flavorful but not super heavy. My wife had the tri-tip sandwich and she loved it. If it were not three hours away, we would definitely be regulars

Absolutely delicious! Was passing through the city and decided to take a chance on this place. Our party had sandwiches, burgers and salads. All were great! We even had to get a glass of the amazing juice.

We tried this restaurant this weekend and let me just say it was AMAZING!!!! There is a really nice patio and the indoor seating is a bit limited but very nice. On the day we went there was a young lady playing music and singing. As the inside became busy the noise level became a bit much but overall it was nice. From what I understand there is another dining area but I didn't see it so I won't comment on it. The food was amazing and a lot of it. My dining companion ordered a champagne spritzer which was FANTASTIC. Our service was just as fantastic and I love the cutting boards they use to serve with! With a birthday a few days away, I may just need to treat myself to lunch at this restaurant .

I'll be talking about the food, service, and ambiance to anyone passing through Bakersfield! We sat outside and enjoyed their patio. They offered a free appetizer as a thank you for our support and that was a cheese & roasted garlic oil plate with toasted sourdough bread what a perfect way to thank your guests for their support! I ordered a tri tip melt that was absolutely delicious. It was a little small so I'm glad i also ordered the cauliflower buffalo "wings" that are dipped in tempura flour. They were delicious & brought the few left over back for my husband so also enjoyed them! My friend got the Brussels sprout sweet potato mash & couldn't stop raving about it! Towards the end of our meal, the staff came around with sample small plates of their stone fruit salad & apple Brie salad! Wow what a perfect way to close out the meal.. of course i want to try your salads too! The dining experience was beautiful and their art murals in the back dining area are so smart & inclusive of our blind community! Thanks for a delicious lunch!

I got to say that the food here is quite delicious!! I think that the salad did taste better personally even though I am a meat lover but the combination is delicious! I recommend doing the half and half. People there are also very nice so you can interact with the servers there.

Overall experience 3 Food was pretty good , service could have been better we had the free appetizer listed on their menu app, tasty but prob wouldn't get it again, (very nice a free appetizer is available , server didn't know if cooks had time to make it, but did bring it out ) croissant sandwich with cheese, bacon and blueberry compote for $14.50 should've had another pc of cheese and bacon ,( LG croissant w/ small slice of cheese and 1 pc of bacon ) it was tasty , glad compote was on side , it didn't have much blueberry flavor , ( weirdly server didn't know if cooks could put compote on side and walked off while we were still ordering , continued to help 2 other customers before finding out from cooks ) fries were out of this world good ! Def fresh and delish with the chipotle ranch , hot coffee and ice coffee both delish , was nice to sit outside , not sure if there's a restroom , didn't see one , service could have been better , we were celebrating a special occasion and our server wasn't friendly and could have made the experience better , I had to get up a few times to ask about food, half of our sandwiches were gone before getting our soup, 71 bucks for lunch for 2 people plus tip $83 bucks, nothing offered for dessert for birthday , maybe we'll go again , not sure with the padre right across the street

Stopped in here while passing through Bakersfield. It's a very small restaurant cranking out top tier dishes. I could talk for days about the food but it really boiled down to the tri tip sandwich. Absolute perfection. My server Tony was fantastic and walked me through each course, expertly.

Came here for lunch on a week day as a party of three. This spot is one of Bakersfield's more popular restaurants. I ordered the Ultimate Pastrami Melt. It curbed my hunger. I also ordered one of their Strawberry Frescas. It was super sweet but refreshing. The service was slow if I recall correctly, this may have been due to the lunch time rush. We had to park down the street as well. The ambiance was fast casual. The artistic touches such as the flowers and mural were cool. I would recommend this spot to try if you are just passing through.

This will be my new favorite stop when I go to visit my daughter. The staff are amazing and friendly. The food was so flavorful and delightful. I have zero complaints and can't wait to go back!! Highly recommend! Ps...I absolutely loved the decor as well!!

The tri-tip melt was AMAZING! I always get my food to go. I do think it's a touch pricey and service is a little slow, but not a huge deal. I tried a couple of their other dishes and wasn't blown away. Something about the tri-tip melt is magical.

Everything we had was so flavorful, unique and very creative with the plating! The indoor eating was a bit too noisy, so we ate outside. This will be an issue come summer unless they build a more enclosed patio and have misters.

I love this place. Everything is so fresh and made with care. You can dine in or pick up. If you're going to pick up, you can order online. I believe they change the menu in accordance with what produce/proteins are in season. When you walk up to the business they have a QR code you can scan or you can go to their Instagram acct. My mom and I stopped by for a quick lunch and we had the most delicious Cobb salads. (See picture below, mouth watering) The citrus dressing was addicting. I wish I could have taken some home. I also got a side of tomato bisque soup, it was perfect. Full of flavor. I usually add hot sauce to my soup but I devoured it so fast, it didn't even need it though. Can't wait to go back and try some more of their menu items. The house made tea was delicious and refreshing too!

This place has amazing potential. The ambiance is great, the staff is friendly, and the food is tasty. The downside is primarily the speed of the service. They were understaffed on my visit and it took over an hour for our dishes and an appetizer came out at the end of the meal instead of the beginning. I tried the grilled cheese with tomato bisque and the bloody mary deviled eggs. The grilled cheese and soup were just okay. I really like the deviled eggs. There were very tasty. I loved the addition of the bacon. My parents also shared their onion rings. I will say they were the best onion rings I've ever eaten. Over all, this is a great stop in the area, but definitely has room to improve.

Found this place on Yelp as we were heading from Fresno to Mesquite an md weren't disappointed. Food was excellent as was the service and presentation. Staff was also super nice. The fried green beans were super good. Definitely would swing by there on the next trip.
