Localino - Review - Saint-Germain-des-Prés - Paris - The Infatuation

"Resist the smell of buckwheat crepes wafting from Briezh down the block—you’re here to eat pasta at Localino, an Italian restaurant in Saint-Germain-des-Prés that functions as a one-way ticket to Rome by way of metro lines 4 and 10. Plop into one of the plush chairs at the countertop facing the open kitchen for heaping bowls of veal ragout macaroni or fusilloni in a simple red sauce, and save some room for the tiramisu. If you come during lunch, take advantage of the three-course prix fixe that’s just $28." - Sara Lieberman

A very very cosy place in Paris. If you love Italian food, take the lunch menu and walk out happy. It’s no nonsense, and everything was just great including the espresso. Ideal for lunch. You’re served fast enough. If you wish to digest afterwards (: go for a walk in Jardin de Luxembourg.

We had lunch here. The pasta was delicious, and the ingredients were fresh, especially the sea urchin which was very sweet. Overall, we were impressed.

After hearing all the buzz about this place, we decided to go for lunch to try their pasta dishes. One of the first things I noticed was the open centrally positioned kitchen, where the chef prepares the food right in front of everyone. This creates a great atmosphere and adds to the dining experience. The service was friendly, and the staff came from different nationalities, which was nice to see. Once we sat down, the waitress brought us a menu board that listed only three types of pasta. At first, this worried me because I wasn’t sure if the limited options would be satisfying. To make the most of it, we decided to order one of each so we could try them all. In the end, we were not disappointed! Each pasta dish was well-prepared and full of flavor. My personal favorite was the paccheri with tomato, basil, and Parmesan cheese. It’s a very simple dish, but making it stand out isn’t easy, and they did a great job. The prices are quite reasonable, except for the wine bottles, which are on the expensive side and don’t offer enough variety of Italian wines. Overall, it’s a great spot for pasta lovers, and I would definitely recommend it!

I have been there several times and I’ll keep going back to discover what they propose to create unique dishes as very traditional ones. As Italian I strongly recommend this place to fully experience what pasta means in our food culture. Cherry on the cake extraordinarily kind personnel! Enjoy the experience

Very cool and unpretentious restaurant. You wouldn't even know it's a restaurant from outside, yet once you're through the door, the atmosphere is perfect. Open kitchen, two sperate rooms full of tables. Beautiful tables set and delicious smells. Go there if you want a nice dining experience.

8/10 Rated as the best pasta spot in Paris, honestly it's pretty good, decently priced but not worth the hype...we got one of each pasta and they were very “pure” in flavour but no meat which made me feel like something was missing? Tomato sauce one was very good. Desserts were super legit and very good! Not sure I’d come back though.

I’ve been to Localino twice for their lunch menu, which changes frequently. Every time I came, I was blown away by the quality of the dishes. If you get a starter and main dish, it’s €24 and it’s a great value for price. I highly recommend trying one of their pastas because it’s cooked perfectly and is the perfect portion for lunch. The service is also very friendly. I think this might be one of my favorite restaurants in Paris and I wish I could come here everyday.

Amazing meal - every dish was excellent. We were lucky enough to get a table as walk-ins. The waiter and waitress serving our table didn't know the wine list very well, so we had cocktails instead, which were also excellent. Only complaint is they left the floor door next to our table open to the basement, so we could see stairs leading into florescent lighting and dirty linens on the basement floor, so it took away from the experience. But overall, we were very satisfied and will be back without a doubt.
