Locals Oyster Bar

Absolutely delicious! The oysters were clean and PERFECTLY shucked! We enjoyed the fish dip with crackers, peel and eat shrimp, and also the Calabash platter. Just amazing! Drinks were on point as well. The atmosphere and staff were friendly. Mask protocols were in effect. I felt safe and enjoyed my first outing with hubby. It was quite a treat to find this hidden jem! We will definitely be coming back!

Fresh and delicious seafood with a flare for the adventurous. Try the fried fish collars, you won’t be disappointed. They're the chicken wings of fish, deep fried to perfection with a tasty and crunchy crust. The portions are very generous and the quality is constantly great. This restaurant is located in the Transfer Food Hall so if your partner doesn't like seafood there are plenty of other great options for food and great beer. The seat inside is plentiful and the weather is nice then you can enjoy the outdoor seating too.

Located in the Transfer Company it is a very cool space. Nice places to sit inside and out. Decided to try the seafood sausage and it was great! I have a feeling their other selections are even better but this was in a bun I could eat standing if needed. At night they have more formal options.

Just discovered that this is inside the Transfer Co. food hall in Raleigh which is a plus. Love food halls and the choices. Had the calabash platter which is the pic as well as steamed oysters. Tasty, however don't expect the same portions you typically get at the seafood restaurant at the Raleigh state farmers market.

I had the peel and eat shrimp and they were delicious! Perfectly seasoned with a healthy portion. Locals Seafood is the best place to get your favorite seafood and Transfer Food Hall is a great vibe!

I asked today for BIG plate (I was starving), they offered for me Calabash Basket. I’m sorry, but 1 piece of white fish, 3 pieces bread and couple of shrimps, shredded cabbage can not cost 21$. It’s absolutely not big plate, and it’s absolutely not MAIN plate. It’s ok for appetiser. In neighboring cafes you can get BIG plates with raw fish for a better price.

Great customer service. The portions are a little small for the price and the smoked fish dip was amazing.

My coworker and I decided to give them a try today @ The Transfer Food Hall. Disappointed. $17.32 plus a tip for the the calabash basket. For 2 baby pieces of fish. A handful of baby shrimp. $17.32. Never again.

Nice clean food hall with a great variety for the size. I love that there's a Burial brewing attached. There's also a small meat market, nice outdoor seating, of course a bar, etc

This food hall is great. Good variety to choose from and a full bar. Plenty of places to sit and eat inside and out under canopies. I got a shrimp empanada, fish taco and a Paloma from three different shops. Service was great and quick. Food was hot a fresh.

Our son and his wife invited us to lunch while we were in town for a few days and we were treated to the Transfer Co. Food Hall! The vibe of the hall is upbeat and modern and the friendliness of the restaurants was amazing! We started at the bar with a couple lunch cocktails, the Queen's Manhattan was my favorite! We then spread out and conquered, each of us opting for something different! It was all delicious and fresh and cooked up quickly even though they were very busy! I had one of Mama Crow's salads and couldn't finish it, it weighed a ton! The choices seemed to be endless, there's definitely something for everyone's tastes! On the way out, we stopped at Alimentari Butchery and grabbed a few things for the road including the beef belly pastrami! Hands down the best pastrami I've ever eaten!

Impressed with how clean the space is and the diverse food options. The chicken tikka masala and naan bread from the Indian/ napali restaurant was delicious. My husband and child has ramen and protein box from the ramen place and were satisfied. Other options include a burger place, Japanese restaurant and a bagel/breakfast spot. I wish there were more dessert options. Would go back.

Raleigh has a couple food halls. Transfer co. probably the best one out of the 3. Outside parking has more space and options. Interior space is better to accommodate more people. It used to be an old garage I think and the developers transformed it into a food hall, therefore the aesthetically different than just a brand new building. A couple choices eat of course, from American to Asians and Tex Mex. Close to downtown Raleigh, you can walk there after your meal if you want to.

We came here for a corporate happy hour and I had a great time. The ambiance of the food hall was exactly what I imagined - a brick exterior facade giving way to a modernized converted garage and warehouse. I had a beer on tap, and sampled a couple of vendors. The empanadas at Che Empanadas were delicious on their own, and my tacos with a side of chips from Dank Burrito were also satisfying. With food and drinks, I found myself gathered around one of several barrel tables, chatting away with coworkers while munching and drinking. I'd definitely recommend coming here for happy hour.

You can smell all the aromas from each food front and literally start to drool especially the Indian food We honestly couldn't stay long but I definitely wanted to stop in and see what kind of food was inside. We stopped at Che empanadas and Captain cookie to get some goodies before hitting the road. The pollo empanadas was really good the brisket however had a lot of fat which for some people they like me personally not so much. Overall really good flavor. Captain Cookies and Milkman!! So cute the colors pop for the business and who doesn't want milk and cookies at anytime of the day?! We got a six pack but my kids ate them up before I could get a picture but I save one the double chocolate which was delicious. Really cool spot for sure and the also had outside seating in the back.

Hmm the only food here that actually looks good I'd say would be tacos de birria. Spot on ngl a solid 8/10 just missing some sides tho. Burger here is mid and portion size is small compared to the fries a solid 6/10 and drinks are Gucci. Atmosphere is nice, good place to make some study's or make some slips on some parlays. And nice hangout spot

Great place if you're eating with a big group and want options. If you're with a small group looking for good food it was just ok. It seems like they are a lot of hip local chains so I thought the food was kind of mediocre.

The empanadas at Che were great 1 get the corn and the kale and mushroom. I got the samosa chaat but to be honest it was a bit bland, wanted a bit more kick and it was Luke warm. There is very nice seating outside in the back, but you can't take any of your beers from burial pit there.

I attended the last City Soul event in one of the event rooms. The bar set up in this area was pretty decent on drinks. I had a Processco and Hendricks mix, and without asking, it was heavy on the Hendricks, which I loved. I liked that it wasn't overly bubbly with procesco. The service was pleasant. Not much more To share. I did try some food spots here, but I think I should review those establishment separately. Stay tuned!

Have to come a 3rd time I guess. First time I enjoyed morgan street food hall by a mile. This time I enjoyed this one more. It's a cool venue. The service at the dank burrito was great and the tacos were delicious. Wish the sanitizer stations were filled around the facility though.

Amazing spot for a varied group of folks with a varied interest in foods. You could bring vegans, vegetarians, and carnivores here with no worry about them finding both something to eat and a place to sit. We tried multiple empanadas (pollo was my fav.) tacos (amazing), burritos (shrimp was killer), and spring rolls (which I did not care for). I have to say, Raleigh has something with the idea of a "food hall." Forget food trucks! Portland, ME need to follow suit. People sharing a space and not having to be the sole owner/renter/tax payer in an ever increasing property market. This type foodie establishment, with a central bar, open concept, larger tables or cozy nooks. I am definitely down for this.

Love the empanadas stand. Other places are good but I've not tried all. We meet here for dinner before movies sometimes or just to avoid the larger crowds downtown (but it's becoming more well known).

I came here for the second time during the week. The first time I came here was a Saturday evening pre-pandemic so you can imagine how packed it was. This time, not so much. I walked in and perused the space before deciding on a meal. I opted for a drink from the bar during my stroll. As always, the bar service was outstanding and the drink was wonderful. I ordered the Heaven Down Below. It's Mezcal-based and was the perfect balance of sweet, smoky and strong just the way I prefer. Absolutely delicious!! I grabbed food from Bulbox (which I'll talk about in a separate review) and sat out on the patio and enjoyed the perfect weather. This is a great modern space to hang out anytime. Overall it was a wonderful experience again and I'll definitely be back soon.

Horrible service at Mama Crows today. The greeting cashier wasn't pleasant. She acted as if everyone was aggravating her by ordering. I was never greeted. I paid $1, and getting barely 2oz of product is really not acceptable. They also gave me the wrong product. When I questioned it, he then gave me less product than the incorrect product and cold fries. I waited over 5 minutes for fries that were sitting there ready. In the meantime, I watched the white male kitchen staff come over to argue with the black male kitchen staff. The whole scene was upsetting. I waited for fresh fries. Trust me, I will not return. I don't recommend anyone else subject themselves yo their customer service either.

I stopped here several weeks ago as I was driving across the state through Raleigh. I found another restaurant on Yelp that I wanted to try, not realizing it was a part of the Transfer Co Food Hall. This place was so cute all around! There are about 6 or so little restaurants food court style within this facility. There are a lot of tables and chairs for dining indoors and outdoors. Beer is available too. This would be such a fun place to go back too and to bring a group of friends with a diverse palates. Great find!

Great options from all over the map! Plenty of seating and a hidden gem! Good for kids too! I must come back.

Sticky tables and I was asked by the tablet to leave a tip upon ordering and I did and immediately regretted it. We ate at Bul Box and the main dishes were surprisingly very tasty hence the five stars. The over all complex is also quite refreshing.

So I finally made it to Transfer Co. Food Hall! What a superb spot! I'm loving the vibe and variety of offerings! I stopped by on a weekday, which made it really easy to find parking right next to the building. The food options were just right, I'm sure you will be able to find something for everyone that you bring along. There's even a booth in the middle of it all to grab some drinks. Can be a bit pricey but it's definitely for the food hall experience! This is officially my new favorite food hall in the Triangle. I can not wait to return to try everything! Not to mention -- lots of seating throughout the building and clean bathrooms.

I don't know how I managed to miss it for this long, but this is a respectable food hall. Like most such places, it is housed in some old industrial-looking building, a symbol of changing times and gentrification. The mix of vendors is local, yet diverse. I found a relatively Carolinian burger and salad place, but also empanadas. I picked up some bagels, and rather wished I'd had room to try some Indian food. There were plenty of choices. Stations labeled "water" were blocked off; I don't know where you'd get water but this kind of thing annoys me. I was also a bit miffed that the Asian noodles weren't vegetarian-friendly; normally food halls are pretty good about catering to all diets. But it doesn't matter that much, because if you're willing to spend, you can certainly find something good.

The place was really nice might have just been an off day. The burger I had didn't seem to have any seasoning. With it having goat cheese, charred onion and garlic Mayo I was super excited to get it, I was underwhelmed. I don't think any salt and pepper was used on the burger. The fire fires were pretty good but again needed some seasoning.

Lots of seating available & a fun place to get food and drinks. Upstairs overlook was also cool

Enjoyed dinner here last night. Went to Burial Brewing where you can order from Alimentary using your smartphone. Split the Smoked Turkey and hot Italian subs, both were delicious (turkey was the hit). Kids ordered food from Bul Box, didn't try but smelled delicious. Burial had some great IPAs.

We absolutely love food halls and always seek them out when traveling. A friend recommended this one to us when we were passing through Raleigh. Covid-19: all of the restaurants we tried have online ordering and payment. The inside of the hall had no one in it. There are tables on the back patio and they were very crowded. We were about to eat in the car, but then we found a couple of tables on the front side of the building and no one was on that side. We went all out here and sampled 4 different restaurants (way too much food). We got an zataar egg sausage bagel from Benchwarmers, a pork belly burrito from Dank Burrito, spicy tan tan ramen from Bul Box, and a Crow Burger from Mama Crow. Everything was absolutely delicious. If I had to rank them it would be: Benchwarmers, Bul Box, Dank Burrito, Mama Crows. Don't take that to mean Mama Crows wasn't good though. It was a delicious burger, just the least unique of all of them. We love getting to sample many different restaurants at a food hall and this one didn't disappoint. It's definitely worth checking out!

This is the best place to meet a friend, bring family, or go solo for a nice lunch out. There's so much variety it doesn't matter what you're craving, you're likely to find it. I recommend the teriyaki chicken from bulbox and the sweet empanadas from Che Empanadas (my go-to). I'm excited to try more places, everything smells delicious.

Transfer Food Hall has something for everyone - Benchwarmers Bagels (a Raleigh fave), Bul Box for some Asian food, a taco place, a full bar, burgers, salads, and seafood. While I do feel like Morgan Street Food Hall is bigger and has a few more options, Transfer Food Hall has easier parking and maybe a bit more seating. It's in a cute, quieter area of downtown Raleigh. I also think it's missing the coffee shop that Morgan Street Food Hall offers. Overall, a great place to bring a group. **if you're going for Benchwarmers, get there early as the line is long and the bagels go quick!!

Really nice place to visit for lunch/ dinner. We decided at the last minute to skip our usual haunts and venture downtown. My husband had been here before, promised that I could find something to eat. First off, love the industrial look and the decor. A lot of seating, including signs that let you know tables have been cleaned/need to be cleaned. Masks provided, too if you forget! Hubby chose his usual, seafood. He got the fried oysters and a crab sandwich. I opted for a salad and fries. He oohed and ahhed over his lunch. Said the seafood was extremely fresh and delicious. I liked my salad from Mama Crows but I did make changes to the menu item as the salad had a few ingredients that I dislike (avocado and blue cheese). Salad was very good and huge, brought most of it home! Fries were delicious. I rarely eat sugary foods (or sugar at all) but I wanted to experience an ice cream cookie sandwich. Captain Cookie and the Milkman is DELICIOUS. Huge ice cream sandwich, fresh delicious cookies. Enough said! We brought 1/2 dozen home, too. Easy to park here today, might not always be the case. We had a nice lunch, delicious dessert and supported local!

Yay for a food hall where you can actually park for free, get close enough to each vendor to actually see what they have to offer, and even find a table to sit down and eat! Where are we? In a bigger city? No, just outside of downtown Raleigh. Love the choice of vendors...there's a nice variety. Burgers, Seafood, Indian, Asian, Italian, Mexican, Beer & Wine, and Bagels (open limited hours). The Hall is clean and easy to maneuver around. Even a friendly Gal who picked up Husband's empty dish for him. Oh, and nice bathrooms too! Maybe we got lucky that they weren't too crazy crowded, being early on a Sunday evening, but I do know we have yet to get lucky at the other food hall. We will be back for sure. Soon!

The ambiance is inviting and there is a wide range of different options of food. Area was clean and hospitable. I tried Mama Crows and the hamburger was delicious and the fries were great.

Transfer Co Food Hall is such a vibe. This is exactly the kind of place I was looking for during my trip to Raleigh: music, food, diversity, all in a casually cool open space, complete with cafeteria-style lunch tables. I walked to each vendor to study their menus and I was so happy with the options - seems like there's literally something for everyone here . Burritos, burgers, seafood, Asian-inspired, Latin-inspired, salads, plus a full bar. I loved the large 'Raleigh' display over Locals Oyster Bar, it felt like the perfect welcome to the city (wish I saw something like this outside downtown!). If the heat weren't too brutal, we would have indulged and sat outside in their courtyard.

It is awesome to see this sort of food court taking hold in Raleigh. I've been to the one on the other side of downtown and I won't try to say that one is better than the other. They're both awesome. Good seating, lots of options, free wifi, fab foods. Transfer has burritos and bagels and seafood and beer and barbecue and empanadas and burgers and even an oyster bar. Great space and environment with variety of seating options ranging from benches to bar tables and stools and even a loungish area at the top of the stairs. Solid variety of food options with friendly staff. Great spot for a group, a couple friends, or even studying or doing work solo. Highly recommend.

Cute food hall with a handful of food options. Decent prices and plenty of seating. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely go back again and check out some of the other vendors.

When it comes to food halls, the Triangle has been in a bit of a boom. But Transfer Co. Food Hall may be the best of this new revolution! The historic building, quality vendors and neighborhood vibe of Transfer Co. Food Hall make it stand out. While tourists may be over-running Morgan Street Food Hall, Transfer Co. keeps its neighborhood status as a semi-hidden gem. Some of my favorites include Benchwarmer Bagels, Che Empanada, and Dank Burrito. The main bar usually has some good beers on tap along with good service and I like the fact that Transfer Co. Food Hall is keen on doing local, community events. Overall a big thumbs up from me, I'm curious to see what Longleaf Swine, Alimentari and Mama Crows brings to the equation when they open up.

Raleigh's 2nd food hall. Smaller in size that its' cross town competitor but the same trendy, hipster vibe. As the name infers, it's an old warehouse building, refitted in modern industrial chic. Plenty of seating at bench tables inside plus an outdoor patio. On-street parking was easy to find. Not too crowded on this Sunday afternoon. We tried a couple of selections from Bul Box. The bulgogi box (ordered with salad instead of rice) was a delicious combo. A big heap of savory & sweet beef cooked bulgogi-style is served atop a bed of greens plus grilled vegetables, green beans with sesame sauce, cucumber-tomato salad and dressed with sweet peanut ginger dressing. This is garnished with a soy glazed soft boiled egg and bacon-laced potato salad plus a small vegetable spring roll. It's a great combo with a melange of great complementary flavors. The Wasabi Ahi tuna poke bowl was good. The tuna bowl (ordered with salad instead of rice) features a generous mound of diced tuna, atop an assortment of kale, spinach and greens, silvered carrots and grilled corn. The salad is dressed a ginger-based dressing and the whole box is topped with a strong of Wasabi-infused sauce plus a trio of thin sliced, deep fried green tomatoes. It was delicious, though not special. Bulgogi box was better. For dessert we slid over to Captain Cookie and the Milk Man amd grabbed a scrumptuous ice cream sandwich. A big scoop of vanilla ice cream in between 2 fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Creamy rich ice cream, fresh soft cookies. Worth every calorie! Plenty of other things to try at these and the other shops, so definitely will be back. It's a great option when you can't decide what you want to eat, you can browse a bunch of options and follow your nose.

Y'all!!!!! Life is happening here! The atmosphere is soooo eclectic! So happy our friend brought us here for dinner. You can find any kind of meal you want. It's a really happening kinda place - music, food, drink, etc. Noveau, local, ethnic, trendy - all of it is delicious food! I had the salad (1 easily serves 4) from Mama Crow's Burger & Salad. I must say it was so wonderful, nutrient dense and very filling! My drink was divine - from LOCALS Oyster Bar -called Haw River Coffee Cream Stout - so smooth and rich. When in Raleigh, you must go!!

This was a super cool food hall that we stopped at on our way back to the coast. I was really excited because it had a burial inside but also because of the food selection. It is in a nice area with plenty of spots to park. There is a burger spot (my mom got a burger and the brussels sprouts, and they were tasty), a taco spot, Indian, Dumplings, and more. Additionally, there is a full bar. The one thing I was a little bumped about was you could not take your burial beverages into the actual food hall. Other than that, it is a very cool spot!

We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well here's mine: Parking: 4 Location: 4 Decor/ambiance: 5 Customer Service: 5 Super hip and trendy! This place is new to the area and its awesome. I'm so happy to see the 'food-hall' concept finally brush the RDU area! Transfer is the newest one and its leading the way for the area. This food-hall was jumping on a random saturday night. We stopped by for desserts and found a nice crowd. There are quite a few brewery's and food spots inside as well as deserts spots as well. They have a movie screen thats a projector shooting movies on a random wall. You can just sit there and watch movies all day. They have a really nice outdoor seating area with string lights above. I'm in love with this concept and I'm excited that we have one of the food halls here in the area!

Food Morning Family, What an amazing experience we shared last night at the Transfer Co Food Hall in Downtown Raleigh. The revitalization of and gentrification of, I might add, has been a welcome change to a die hard foodie such as myself. We heard so much about this place, specifically Che Empanadas and Dank Burrito but Locals Seafood was a dope find too and where we ended up chillin in for the better part of the evening. If you follow my Yelp Elite page then you know I Love Dank Burrito and that freaking delicious Pork Belly Bahn Mi Taco! That's the best taco that I've had in the city so far. The staff was pretty awesome too which made it even better. Che Empanadas is a nice little spot for authentic empanadas and dynamic sauce accompaniments. I think I had the Pork Al Pastor Empanada that was the special that night. It was yummy to my tummy. The owner was there, I forget his name but he was a cool dude that gave me the tomatillo sauce to try. It was so good that I could have drank it straight out of the cup! There was a Bar beside Locals Seafood, I don't know the name of it, but I didn't particularly care for their customer service at all. We went there for a quick beer but the host was so rude and nasty to us that we were highly offended and decided to spend out hard earned money somewhere that it is appreciated. I'll go back and get the name so I can get update this review later. Either way don't go there. Anywho, that's how we found our food home for the night at the gem of the food hall, Locals Seafood Everyone there was so nice and friendly. We felt right at home with a nice table in the back where we could relax and talk. The bartender recommended the Crab Melt Sandwich which was bomb AF! We also had the Fish Collars, a must try for any foodie. My kid wants to go back tonight LOL. I'll keep you posted. To close out this visit we stopped by the local beer and wine bar next door Burial Beer. They had a nice selection of locally brewed beer on tap. I think they brew it on site actually which is hella cool. I had a nice glass of wine and took in the scenery around me which was filled with beautiful abstract art pieces and other elegant decorative items. This is a nice spot to chillax. There were tables and chairs outside as well. Can't wait to go back there on a summer afternoon with my puppy and a good book. Overall a great first time visit to the Transfer Co Food Hall. There are so many places that we didn't get to this time but we will be back soon, let my daughter tell it, it may be tonight :) #eatingwithchefseanandre It's Gon' Be Dope

I think this food hall is an awesome addition to the area. Not everything is open yet, but right now they do have a few great options. I like that the space is open and you can actually move around vs Morgan Street Food Hall which is pretty cramped in there. They have a good amount of seating as well and a nice outdoor area when construction is done. Benchwarmer Bagels is amazing and I really enjoyed Local's Oyster Bar. I'm excited to try out the neighboring fish market as well which is open limited hours/days. I haven't tried out Captain Cookie yet or Che Empanadas. I think when everyone is moved in there will be a good variety. Looking forward to Longleaf Swine and Bul Box. They also have a decent sized bar that I have yet to try out!

Been wanting to check this place out for a while. We were at another event on the other side of town and it was a nice night so we hoofed it over to this Food Hall. I was a little worried when we crossed Bloodworth St. Historically not a safe street to be on. The Street lighting was good and we safely made it to the Hall. It wasn't very busy on a Monday night. We chose Locals Seafood. There was a draft beer selection for $3. That's awesome. We also split the seafood basket (with fish and shrimp). For the price, it was just OK. We also tried the shrimp poutine. It's not the usual poutine prepared with gravy and cheese. It was different. Don't think we would get it again. Luckily there were many food choices so next time we will try something else. Or maybe we will try the other food Hall on the other side of town. It's an interesting concept. Not sure that I am 100% onboard with the concept. It reminds me of an upscale mall food court.

I love transfer food hall! This is one of the first places I visited when I moved to Raleigh and is now part of my life. I love benchwarmer bagels, they are always so friendly and the bagel sandwiches are absolutely delicious. Dank Burrito and Che empanadas are a must go to as well

I LOVED Locals Oyster Bar. The service was excellent! They were so friendly, informative and just the best. I must say, I don't like seeing the reviews from people that have 1 review to their name and they put down local businesses. Just don't. The seafood was super fresh! The oysters were delicious with nicely cleaned shells which I greatly appreciated. Some places don't clean their oysters well and you get grit and sand in your mouth. Not the case here. The clams were yummy just make sure to use the mignonette sauce with the clams. It compliments the flavor of the clams. I look forward to another trip back to try their many other dishes. Can't wait!

Pretty decent food hall. A little small but for the job done. I wasn't too hungry so I went to the little Italian place and had a small tomato mozzarella sandwich which was perfect! There were other options. They place was super clean.

Such an awesome vibe and awesome people. We went out on a beautiful day, so we enjoyed eating and drinking outside. They have parking in the area thats free for Transfer Co guest. We also went to Morgan Street Food Hall and we preferred Transfer so much more.

Food hall with about 8-9 dining options. Tons of space for seating as well as a location for drinking water. All the stores were on the outside and all the seating were in the middle. I came on a weekday and it was very easy to find a seat. If you had a group of people who had a diverse eating preference, this place is perfect. There is also a bar serving drinks however I didn't partake in this. Additionally it was very easy street parking around the building.
