"Lochland’s is a family-friendly Irish restaurant up in Lake Highlands with a heck of a patio. This is where the adults celebrate St. Patty’s, with plates of fish and chips, Shepard’s pie, and non-Irish classics, including steak frites and mussels mariniere. Hot Irish cocktails top the menu, with an array of liquors and wine cocktails also on offer — and Guinness is the star drink. There’s a beer garden out back that is a great spot to linger over a lager." - Courtney E. Smith, Alaena Hostetter

"Lochwood loves this brunch. Drop in to enjoy a robust menu that includes a worldly menu of Norwegian eggs, migas, eggs Florentine, Belgian waffles, a breakfast flatbread, and so much more. There are also salads, pub dishes, and many burgers. There’s a nice big yard with tables out back or brunch in the dark tavern with some hair of the dog that brought you there." - Courtney E. Smith

Got the fish and chips. Came out piping hot and was nicely crispy. The fish was slightly bland but they gave tartar sauce and ketchup. The French fries were crispy, slightly too salty but had great flavor with the garlic. Overall very satisfied with the food and portion size.

Google
Fantastic cozy pub, with pretty authentic styled food. My wife from Liverpool signs off on it! Great shepherds pie, and don't forget the malt vinegar to go on the chips 😋

Google
Fish and chips are excellent. It is what my wife and I always get when we are in from out of town. I have had the burger and it is good too, but I haven't been able to find a match for the fish and chips anywhere, so we always get that.

We have driven by multiple times and keep saying "we should stop in." Finally we did. Ordered a bourbon cocktail that was excellent (I'm a chef who cooks often with bourbon so it was right up my alley.) Friendly service and the food came out hot and fresh. The simplest thing was impressive... the side salad. It wasn't your typically iceberg lettuce. They actually used cut up romaine, sliced onions, grape tomatoes, a cucumber and a nice side portion of dressing. I ordered the lochland burger... I order medium and got well, well done. Some salt and pepper on the thick patty would have gave the overcooked burger some justice. The hash dish was on point. We will return, but next time I'll order medium rare to get a medium burger. 😉

I fell in love with this place. A classic neighborhood pub. The decor is industrial with Irish touches but not kitschy. Clearly a neighborhood hangout. They feature rugby matches on the big screen (there are multiple other TVs) which draw an enthusiastic but not rowdy crowd. Plenty of beer, wine, and cocktail selections, and the food is good. I went for brunch (only available on weekends) and had smoked salmon on potato cakes, with an over easy egg added. Delicious. They have Guinness on draft, properly poured. I enjoyed a “snakebite,” which here is a Stella with Magners (Irish) dry cider. In other Irish pubs the beer is Harp, but they don’t have that here. If I lived in this area I’d be a Lochland’s regular.

Google
Good vibe and good menu. Great prices for brunch drinks. Our server seemed very overwhelmed and people were receiving their food as others still hadn’t even ordered. Others didn’t receive their food at all. Sort of a mess but great atmosphere and food. I’m sure I’ll be back to give it another try, maybe with a smaller, more manageable party.

Went for date night and was great. The service was awesome. Our server took good care of us, and we also had refills at just the right times. Great selection of drinks. I normally don't care for sweet drinks but the paper plane was really good. Food was good, the fried mushrooms were bland, and they cooked the burgers one step above what we ordered them as. They had good flavor, and the truffle fries were great for me, but my wife thought hers were a bit salty. There is a beer garden in the back that we will definitely come back to visit.

Yelp
LOVED this place. To start off, I am fish and chips obsessed, and a i've tried just about every place in Dallas. This place is IT. I've been getting really tired of restaurants raising their prices for this dish and not offering anything special. Lochland's serves a very generous portion (this is the only place I have ever needed a box for), amaaaaazing house made sauces, including a dill-forward tartar that is superb, fantastic french fries and a very fresh side of coleslaw. This is WELL worth the $17, and I can't say that for many places in Dallas, if any at all. We also got a bloody merry and an order of wings, both of which were excellent. The spicy sauce was a winner. The restaurant was very cute itself, and best of all, the staff was so kind and attentive. Our waiter was great and a very kind lady (the manger?) checked on us several times and even sent over and extra side of coleslaw when she saw how enthusiastic I was about the fish and chips . I think this will be my new spot and I HIGHLY recommend you give Lochland's a try. Safe to say, everything we had was a success.

Yelp
There are very few bars in Dallas that can pour a good Guinness. Lochland's is on the list of those who know how to do it well. They serve big portions of good food, a great place to watch EPL or Six Nations Rugby. They are friendly folks who tun the show. The main bar is a little loud but you might like that? They have a nice picnic /beer garden to sit in the back patio. We will come back.

Yelp
Really fast and really great breakfast on the weekends. Everyone loved their food -- we have chicken & biscuit, a breakfast sandwich, and potato pancakes with salmon. All were fabulous!

Monica R.

Yelp
I went on a Friday evening. The interior of the pub was cool. It was dimly lit and the decor was spot on. Wooden floors, vintage looking light fixtures. I was craving fish & chips & Lochlands had been pinned to try for a while. It's a seat yourself pub & service was quick. I was disappointed in my fish, but the fries were great! The portion of the fish was good, but it was the lack of flakiness was a let down. I'd like to go back & try something else. They also have a cute looking beer garden.

Bonnie W.

Yelp
Food is spot on, servers and bar tenders are the best and the ambiance is easy. The shepherd's pie is excellent.

Mindi A.

Yelp
Local bar with a decent menu. Service was friendly and prompt and food was good. I had a wedge salad, which was good (though a little over-drenched in dressing) and hubs got the fish and chips which he loved.

Yelp
Lochland's in Lake Highlands is a charming neighborhood pub that offers a cozy, laid-back atmosphere with a great selection of drinks. The menu features delicious comfort food, with standout items like hearty burgers and flavorful fish and chips. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to relax with friends or enjoy a casual meal.

Yelp
I drove all the way from Bishop Arts, passing by many restaurants; looking for something to eat. I was hungry but everything just seemed to be so mundane. Got here and was welcomed by the Open sign and the front door and the awesome staff at the bar. I opted for Fish n chips and loaded tators and boy were they good !!! I don't like tartar sauce but what you get here is different. I think they make it fresh. Ummm so delish is that tartar sauce I had n me mouth today. Pare that with a nitro Guinness Beer and you will only want to come back again.

Yelp
Met a friend for dinner, and we wanted to go somewhere easy. This was this place, big beer garden. Friendly vibe. Not too busy, The cocktail and drink list is long, so many things to choose from. I tried the ultimate gin and tonic for a cocktail. It was good. Switched to a Hefeweizen with dinner, We shared the cheese board. So good. Solid selection of cheese: Brie, Humboldt fog, and manchego. I followed that up with a Reuben. It was good.. Totally hit the spot. Layers of flavors. Didn't fall apart. Will indulge again

Daniel T.

Yelp
Nice bar restaurant with a good brunch selection. I had Eggs Florentine, and it was good. I particularly like the fried potatoes. We came as a group this morning and the service was good and the staffers were very attentive. We're coming back again soon.

Margaux H.

Yelp
Good place for brunch and just an overall good time. Staff is friendly and encourage a good time. Food is very good, highly recommended

Staci S.

Yelp
Great location in East Dallas with great service. Love the patio. Thanks for having our East Dallas chamber out last night. We will be back!

Yelp
Lots of fun Saint Paddy's day.. such a gem. Everyone was great staff as well as patrons. It was just a fun day with great people. Looking forward to going again on a more peaceful day and enjoy some food.

Steve S.

Yelp
Lochland's is a friendly neighborhood Irish pub with excellent food and drinks. We ate brunch here with some neighbors this morning, and my eggs Florentine was delicious, perfectly prepared, and colorful (I got a very fresh side salad with home made buttermilk ranch). Service was friendly and efficient, and there are always soccer matches on the plentiful TVs mounted in every corner. Parking is plentiful, too. Highly recommended.

David S.

Yelp
So the wife was craving some good fish and chips and she rarely craves that and we didn't want to make the hike to Frisco to eat really good fish and chips at the Aussie Grind, so I found this place. As you walk in, you pretty much seat yourself. We got seated and the service was on it. The service was great for sure. We ordered the fish and chips of course and when it came out, it was pipping hot is how my wife likes her food, basically burning her mouth, LOL! They make their own ranch and tartar sauce and those were good. The fish was crispy and not overly greasy. The fries were good but could have been better and more could have been served on each plate. I was looking for them to be those steak fries that normally see with fish and chips. These were skinny compared to steak fries. The bottom line is that everything tasted good, but I will say that this meal sat with me all day long. I'm curious to know what is in the batter as far as seasoning goes, because again, it just sat right there all day long. So there it is, that's my review. :-)

Mike R.

Yelp
We went there to watch Game 1 of World Series. Go Rangers! Good selection of beers on tap and a huge selection of bottled and cans! The fried mushrooms are excellent. The Rueben sandwiches excellent and one of tastiest I ever had. Sauerkraut really makes it outstanding. Great flavor. I could eat a bowl by itself it is that good. We sat at the bar and Leslie was doing a great job slinging whiskey for everyone. Parking lot is small with subcompact parking. I definitely will return when I am back in Dallas.

Yelp
Every time I visit Dallas for work I make it a point to stop here for a quick bite to eat. The staff is very friendly and the food is always great. Definitely worth your time and your tastebuds will thank you! Oh, and try the green beans with the dipping sauce, they're amazing!

Ann E.

Yelp
Food most amazing. Happy hour loaded fries sooo good. Fish & chips so delicious. German Wienerschnitzel & garlic fries crispy. Nice serving sizes! Service was wonderful. Friday @6pm was loud, happy, & everyone here was enjoying themselves.

M S.

Yelp
Fantastic environment and our server was amazing. Fish and Chips were good, but a little on the mushy side, and the burger was great!

Yelp
STEPH JUDGEMENT: A friendly neighborhood Irish pub great for an above-average casual meal. Came here for a weeknight dinner with some friends and we immediately felt comfortable, friendly vibes as we walked in. The hubby and I started things off with a Frozen Paloma and a Gin and tonic made with fever tree--both great. We also got an order of the battered mushrooms with creamy horseradish sauce, but felt the sauce wasn't spicy enough so we asked for just a whole other thing of horseradish and that did the trick. I got their ceviche, which was just ok--the fish was kind of tough. I suspect it was cooked first, and not allowed to cook with the acid. Putting Cholula on it helped, but I wouldn't bother ordering that again. I just looked up their menu all these months later and I didn't see those items on their menu--perhaps just as well. The hubby's vegan shepherd's pie was excellent, though (they do have a regular meat version as well), as were the accompanying perfectly crisp tots. Our friends got the Lochland Burger with fries, and the fish and chips, and both got a thumbs up. For a sweet ending, we took a Sticky toffee pudding to go, as we were too full to properly enjoy it right after dinner, and it was VERY good a couple of hours later. Overall, a very good experience, and we wouldn't hesitate to try them again!

Yelp
Food ~ standard bar food - I like the dry rub wings. Service ~ PHENOMENAL Ambiance ~ perfect for a date night or night out with friends. Music is GREAT! A true hidden GEM!

Yelp
As many times as we have driven placed Lochland's and said, "We gotta check that out!" FINALLY!!!! Stepped in on a early Saturday afternoon and was greeted by a laid back, traditional Irish Bar. With a reasonable amount of people, the atmosphere was cozy with just the right amount of bar noise(quite by most bar standards). I ordered the Breakfast Bourbon Martini made with Knob Creek & Smoked Maple Bourbon Peach Liqeur, and Bitters, it was a great Cocktail!! Strong upfront with a gentle sweetness in the finish made this cocktail a sure winner! Hubby ordered the Lochland Burger that was fat and juicy on a beautifully, soft, Brioche Bun was really good. A little Salt and Pepper would have went a long way on this patty that was supposed to be Medium Rare, but came our Medium. I had the House Hash and Eggs which was a dream! The Corned Beef was tender and NOT DRIED OUT! With under tones of juniper and stout, sauteed with Caramelized Onions, Breakfast Potatoes, and Hollandaise was a sure winner! Everything worked together seemsless and delivered on all the flavors I love in a good Corned Beef! Staff was friendly and attentive. I am so glad we stopped in for a Saturday Brunch after a day of shopping! If you haven't been? Check It Out!

Andrew C.

Yelp
Stopped in for a few pints and some fish and chips. It didn't disappoint. They have a very large sprite and beer selection. A lot of traditional European brews as well as some local favorites. Opted for a snake bite (Irish red with Guinness) and a derelict ipa from Oak highlands brewery (local) very crisp and the lines were clean. Now the fish and chips? A whole other level. Very crisp and even the fries were good. I normally put lemon on them but I opted just for the malt vinegar. The house made tartar sauce was a nice touch. Now it's a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

John B.

Yelp
Cool place, good service, lots of drinks Decent food everybody can be Irish, Check it out

Diane S.

Yelp
The food was very fresh. The old fashions deep The wedge was perfect! Jess, who I've never met before in my life nor looks like anyone I know, was a great server and good humour. She made excellent suggestions both on food and drink. The atmosphere was very nice with lots of outside seating. One of the stand outs in my mind was though it was an Irish pub, it was bright and open, compared to some "pubs" that think super low light and crowded tables and shouting matches are required for a good time out makes for the best atmosphere. Really looking forward to going back again.

Robert M.

Yelp
The outdoor area is nice and food/drink is pretty delish. Great service all around as well.

Damien R.

Yelp
Cioppino, mussels, shepherds pie, wedge salad, and to finish the stick toffee pudding!!! Best way to go!!!

Lindsey D.

Yelp
Great food, and awesome that they have so many NA options for beer and cocktails! We enjoyed the friendly service and can tell this is a popular spot. Sticky toffee pudding was our favorite item that we tried!

Arran D.

Yelp
The focus of this place is definitely alcohol. I've come in several times for take-out and to dine in, and the servers seem dismayed with the fact that I haven't ordered any alcoholic drinks. That said, the waitstaff is attentive. The food is a little pricey but it's pretty tasty and it feels fresh. It's a little dark and gloomy inside the restaurant, but I'm sure that's intentional. There are often games playing on the TVs so it becomes pretty packed late at night and on weekends. It's not my go-to place for food, but I've never regretted going.

Paula C.

Yelp
Came here with some coworkers to try the fish and chips which a dozen people recommended and I liked it! It's was large cod pieces with thick crunchy batter that was full of flavor. I'm glad I tried it.

Vince B.

Yelp
Can't say anything about the food, the service or the ambiance......walked in at 9:48 pm ask for a menu and the bartender said the kitchen just closed.... One hour and 12 minutes before closing.... I don't know if I'll be back. Pretty bummed about these pubs kitchen "closing" an hour before closing.

Jackie C.

Yelp
What a great local pub! It is down the street from a friend's so we love to pop in here for a drink. The food is really good and the drinks are very well made. I can't wait for better weather cause that patio looks like a dream for wasting away an afternoon.

Dipesh P.

Yelp
Great local spot. The best parts of this spot are the draught beer selection and the plentiful outdoor seating. AND they have a strong cocktail game. They even make the best europe style beer mixes (think black velvet, Black and Tan etc). Their draft beer selection includes a selection of amazing European beers. The food is also good but the better part about this establishment is the service. Every time we have been, the waitstaff has been super nice and the food has come out in a prompt manner. They are also very accommodating about different requests.

Amy G.

Yelp
We love this neighborhood spot! They have a great menu with a variety of choices. They are kid friendly and so sweet with our son! We get takeout often and it's just as good to go, too!

Ray F.

Yelp
This is a fantastic place to have dinner, have a few drinks, meet with friends and just enjoy life! It is easy to get to, enough parking, and when walking in, you'll be greeted by true customer focused staff! Really cool and enchanting interior with large wrought iron lamps, beer signage from around the world, lots of TVs with sports, plus plenty of tables! The bar looked very inviting as well! We were seated and the menu was available from the QR code cube on the table. The wait staff was not just friendly, but very helpful with suggestions! I ordered an Ultra and a Lochland Burger with dragon cheddar, sweet smoked bacon and fries. I also added a side salad to keep my doctors happy (You know, that kind of salad that food eats). The salad was really pretty good! My GF had the Shepherd's Pie which was pretty good. My burger was wonderful! Perfectly caramelized, great kick from the cheese, ripe flavorful tomato, and a bun that is good enough to enjoy with nothing in it! The fries were very tasty! Price is decent for the quality of service. This place is really a bunch of 4 stars that when rolled together is a true Yelp 5 star experience! Get in the car and get over here!

Danielle C.

Yelp
First time at Lochland's and it was great! Our party was a large group and we had reservations which helped to sit quickly and start ordering items. We got a bit of everything! Loaded fries (yum!), battered mushrooms and several items from the main menu. Drinks were good too! Will be coming back to the local spot and try something new!

Francie V.

Yelp
Good drinks, friendly service, stylish interior! My mom and I both had the fish n chips and everything was hot and crispy and fresh. Only got one pic and it's the drink menu. GO EARLY! This place gets packed.

Angel G.

Yelp
What a fun place to be! You have inside seating or the patio! I love the varied seating areas for different size parties. Quick service..... hope you are hearing that if you have kids! Tons of menu choices but my favorite is their Lochland's burger. They do fun things for holidays too!

Sandy S.

Yelp
Vegetarians and Vegans rejoice! Lochland's have you covered. They have a vegan shepherds pie and they also have vegan crumbles to put on flatbreads. They also have vegan patty's for burgers. They also do not charge for an upgrade to a side salad as a side. Very veg friendly! Thank you for that Lochlands!

Sharon B.

Yelp
Been three times. Food was just okay. Recent take-out order of burger; got it home and was so disappointed. Lettuce had brown edges; tomato was small and didn't get the mayo I ordered. Not at all the quality of what's charged. No napkins - and I tipped!

Michael M.

Yelp
Great ambiance and best lox and bagels I've had in awhile! Very friendly and attentive staff.

Diana R.

Yelp
Love this neighborhood bar! The patio is cute when the weather is nice. Perfect for watching games, and the food is great too!

Paul P.

Yelp
Excellent service. Terrific brunch. Delicious Irish coffees. Reasonable prices where most other places are gouging.

Beth O.

Yelp
Great neighborhood pub. Owners and staff are friendly and service is great. I've been several times and tried different things and have never been disappointed. Fish and chips are wonderful. The Sunni Salad is one of my favorite menu items. They have a great patio also. Highly recommend for brunch, lunch, or dinner! Or just sit on the patio with a cold pint of Guinness.

Lea Z.

Yelp
I am giving this 2 1/2 stars. I had high hopes for this little place. But after finally making it over, I wished that I hadn't. Hubs had the fish and chips, not the greatest that He's ever had it not bad either; good ratio of batter to fish. Perhaps we just hit at time to filter the fryer. He would order them again. Sadly, I ordered the mussels. I order them everywhere they're on the menu and in an Irish pub they're absolute staple. The broth was line chicken stock with no seasoning and no fat whatsoever. Plainly, it was dish water. The poor mussels had been boiled to shreds and were chewy strings. I ate two, well I chewed on two. The bartender never asked about any of the food. She carried off the complete bowl of untouched mussels. We tipped 20% but usually tip much better than that. All in all, we won't be back.

Rick S.

Yelp
I love this place. I will eat there every time I'm in this part of Dallas. Great food and amazing service. Just a fantastic neighborhood Irish Pub.

Gary M.

Yelp
Great vide place. The outdoor space is fantastic. (Especially with the cooler weather). The food was great! So far we've had the fish &chips, a couple of Rubens, a burger and a chicken sandwich. The cocktails are well made as you should expect. The service! The service is just wow. From the moment you come in they jump into action. The pub was crowded on a Saturday night. It's self seating and was thinking we may get lost in the crowd. Not a chance. The server was kind attentive and super patient. She took every order no matter how complicated without writing anything. NOTHING was missed. Not a single hiccup or "my bad". Just freaking amazing. I wish I knew her name to give proper credit. After being here more than once. I get the feeling this is more the norm than the exception. We'll be back!

Hillary K.

Yelp
Yummy comfort food, great brunch options, friendly service, and great neighborhood feel.

Cindy C.

Yelp
One of the most underrated bars in DFW. Seriously, if this place was located in Downtown, you'd never get a seat. I was lucky enough to walk in at 2:45 on a Sunday, and one of the ladies who brought me my drinks and food kindly informed me that brunch was still available for 15 minutes. I've walked into places where the courtesy was not extended, so that is a definite plus. I first had the food a few weeks ago when I ordered for pick up, and the drink prices as well as the customer service made me want to come back despite the 25 minute weekend drive. I'm currently shopping for a new house, and this place is one of the reasons Northeast Dallas is one of the geographic locations I am considering. The Paloma Radler is their twist on a classic Paloma, and of course they did the damn thing! Instead of the usual grapefruit soda, they use a grapefruit beer, and it elevates the drink so much. I ordered eggs Benedict which were SO AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. Eggs perfectly poached, hollandaise creamy and flavorful, and the breakfast potatoes are MIND BLOWING. Full of caramelized onion, crunchy, soft, browned, salty...just so good. The house hunt is so stressful, but this meal truly made my day (along with the Cowboys win). I've tried a few menu items, and NOTHING DISAPPOINTS, but I'll save those reviews for later. In the meantime, check out this hidden, exceptionally clean gem (seriously the staff is constantly cleaning). 2 hours later: still here watching this lame Seahawks vs Green Bay game...anyway, got hungry again and needed something light. The green beans, are sautéed and served with an amazing aioli, of course. Nothing here is less than extraordinary. I've also tried a few more cocktails and the bartender has been so gracious with all my requests. Thanks, guy!!!!
