This is the first time I’ve been to Loco Pez. They have three locations. This location happened to be at 700 S. 20th St. On such a beautiful day, the outdoor seating was packed pretty well and it’s quite a large area as they have sidewalk seating and also street seating. This is a tree lined street so it makes a great outdoor area walking into the restaurant by itself you notice it has a little retro feel to it as you’re seeing in the pictures. Only a few people are on the inside understandably so because it was such a beautiful day out, we were seeing it immediately and our server, took our drink orders right away. Not soon after our drinks arrived, we ordered a gold rush, which is black tea concentrate Horchata, turmeric, and honey syrup this came with a nice cinnamon sugary crust on the rim of the glass. It was very tasty. We also ordered a fair dragon, which is a ritual, nonalcoholic, tequila, lime, simple syrup, and fresh serrano chilies. This was extremely refreshing for entrées. We decided to order a vegan tortilla soup with a guajillo pepper broth with diced avocado, Chihuahua cheese and tortilla crisps, and we ordered a side of vegan Sitan and vegan sour cream. This tasted just as good as it looked on the table as side condiment they have fresh puréed, tomatillo, and freshly made chili sauce in plastic squirt bottles. I love this tomatillo purée is such a great condiment. You can put on just about anything on myself ordered vegan tacos with chorizo, meat, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, onion, and vegan cashew cheese served on a soft tortilla shell. These were done perfectly and needed. Nothing as you see in the picture done just right our server was excellent and always tentative. Everyone outside was having such a great time. I must make mention there was street parking. That is free here for two hours and it was not hard for me to find a spot. Very surprising. I provided the menus in the pictures and you’ll see most of the menu is geared towards Mexican cuisine, but they have some other great options, including double smash burgers, fried chicken sandwiches and street dogs. They do also offer vegetarian items and all you have to do is ask about the vegan options as in most taco places you’ll find it an easy transition.
