Loco Pez - Review - University City - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Food-wise, the Loco Pez in University City is basically the same as the one in Fishtown. It has great tacos and cheap beers, and if you happen to come here on one of their dollar-taco nights, you’ll be able to eat, grab a PBR, and leave a tip without having spent more than $10. This location near Penn’s campus, though, feels much less divey than the original one, and is somewhere you wouldn’t feel weird bringing your in-laws to." - Sydney McElwee

The 15 Best Restaurants In University City - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Food-wise, the Loco Pez in University City is basically the same as the one in Fishtown. It has the same great al pastor, carnitas, and shrimp tacos, and if you come during Happy Hour, the margaritas drop to $5. The University City Lunch Guide

"The University City location of Loco Pez serves all the same food as the one in Fishtown - they have the same great Mexican food and cheap beers, and it’s hard to spend more than $10 on a few tacos. The biggest difference between the two locations, though, is that this one looks less divey - with floor to ceiling windows and spacious booths that can fit you and at least five other friends. If you don’t have to go back to class later - or even if you do - order a couple of their strong margaritas." - sydney mcelwee

Tacos and Tequila Touch Down in West Philly With the New Loco Pez | Eater Philly

"Opened over the weekend at 4631 Baltimore in Cedar Park (in the spot that the Carrot Cake Man used to occupy in the old Montrose building), this casual, cash-only restaurant and bar followed the same format as the Fishtown original after two-plus years in the works; part local watering hole and part SoCal-style taqueria, it serves great local beer, fresh margaritas, classic tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, and offers happy hour beer and margarita discounts as well as half-priced nachos." - Rachel Vigoda

Google
Came here for dollar taco night, which is announced on their instagram, starts at 5pm, and is on random days. We tried their carne asada, al pastor, carnitas, camarones, and pez tacos. The Al pastor was very dry and lacked much flavor. Carne asada and carnitas were not as dry but also lacked some flavor. Their salsas could also use some work too, they virtually had no spice. All the seafood tacos are battered and deep fried. Camarones was surprisingly my favorite! Portions are fairly small and they use store bought tortillas on dollar taco nights, but for $1 per taco, I’d say this is a steal. Also tried their happy hour classic margarita for $6, which I was very happy with. There is a 3% service charge that goes towards tipping kitchen staff.

Google
Haven't had the chance to dine in yet but have gotten takeout many times... Ordered online. They have a dedicated pick-up area on the side which is super fast and convenient. Staff has always been friendly and our food is consistently packed properly. Food is great. Highly recommend the double smashed burger. Yummm!

Google
Scammers. Came here with my partner for happy hour. We asked the waitress what is your happy hour menu? She told us it’s half off nachos and then proceeded to name the margaritas. She told us margaritas that were not actually part of happy hour. So we were surprised when the check came and our bill was way higher than we anticipated. Apparently only the classic margs are part of happy hour. The waitress failed to tell us this. Maybe she misled us on purpose so we would spend more money? The nachos were bad they were very dry with not much toppings and the actual chip is more like a stale pita chip than a tortilla it’s very thick. The margs were okay but not worth the price they wanted to charge us. I wish they had better service and honesty about their menu! I will never come back here unfortunately, because I really wanted to like it.

Google
Vegan and meat options! I wish it were easier to find out about their dollar tacos, I signed up on two different accounts but haven't heard anything 😭

Google
This is abysmal representation of Mexican gentrification food. I didnt know taco bell had competición. When I seen the use of ingredients used like cheddar cheese or “cheese” instead of traditional queso fresco or cotija on the main courses i was about to walk out, but I was being respectful to my mom. But no more flour tortillas???? Yeah imma send this to the BBB. It’s a shame that dishes that are normally consumed in meaningful cultural contexts are stripped of their symbolism from restaurante like this making dishes palatable to a certain class. The food is average at BEST. The chips sat in oil way too long and came out soggy. The salsa was simply chopped unripened tomato's with a dash of salt, dumb bland. The guac tasted fizzy, which i suspected went bad. I just don't know how your able to digest this or even present this to people. How do people live like this??? The only thing to go here for is the drinks, which are decent. Nothing auténtico about this place at all, it taste like it got an attitude

Google
I absolutely love this place it’s a whole vibe! What’s not to like? The host is always welcoming, the servers are always on point, and the drinks are the best. The food comes out hot and delicious every time. My personal favorite is the mushroom quesadillas so good! Definitely one of my go-to spots.

Google
Got take-out Saturday night about 10pm. Ordered a taco salad. There was no dressing or salsa for the side of tortilla chips included. Salad base consisted mostly of Frise & green lettuce. Lacked texture though color was good. Would not order agaun.

Google
Hostess with black curly hair has one of the worst attitudes I’ve ever come across in years of living in West Philly. I went in, and she ignored me for about 20 seconds while cleaning a table. When I asked if I could sit down, she finally made eye contact with me, death stared me down and said sharply, “No. You need to tell me if you have a reservation and how many people are in your party.” She then told me to go to front of the restaurant just so she could grab her iPad, then walked me all the way back to where we were standing before and silently plopped two menus on the table without saying anything. Pretty sure I saw her on her phone most of the time I was there. Server, on the other hand, was GREAT and super nice!!! Food is solid.

Yelp
We came on dollar taco night and waited about an hour. The tacos arrive pretty quickly and the service is good. Delicious for $1 each, but I would not want to pay the full $3-4. My favorite ones were the gabacho and al pastor tacos. Be sure to double check your bill to make sure you aren't charged incorrectly!

Yelp
The weekly dollar tacos at loco pez are a must try activity in west philly! They're expectedly small, but not ridiculously so, and pretty good considering the deal. They post the day of dolly tocky on their Instagram each week, and it can get busy for a larger party, but is worth the wait for a bargain night with friends.
google avatar

Jenny J.

Yelp
My friends and I have been waiting to try out their $1 tacos and finally on Thursday we were all free. Loco Pez announces their weekly Dolly Tocky night on their Instagram: $1 tacos 5 PM later All of their locations (there's 3) and dine in only We tried their fishtown location but it was so busy and had 1.5 hour wait at 8:30 PM. We called the graduate hospital location and they said they don't think they would be able to seat us before the night was over. We decided to make the trek to the Baltimore Ave location and we had an hour wait til we found some seats at the bar. We decided to drink our sorrows away with the guava margarita pitcher. The drinks were great and strong! 2 was more than what I needed for the night haha This venue is a bit small but cute inside. There were many people standing while waiting especially since it was karaoke night! I felt like we were in the way at times. The hostess told us we might get seated at a table due to the wait time - we got there at 9 and they close at 11. We got alerted a table was available at 10:30 PM but we already had seats at the bar by then. The tacos aren't the best but who can complain for $1! The wait time wasn't long for the food or drinks, the bartender was great. I would definitely come back but way earlier to get seated sooner.

Yelp
Quick happy hour here never disappoints. The food is fresh, comes and quick and taste great. The service is pleasant from the greeter to the waitress. It's a bit noisy at happy hour but that's expected. Get the nachos if you go they are great
google avatar

Nikki W.

Yelp
Always a solid spot to take my friends when we can't decide where to go. The staff is always adorable and kind!
google avatar

Lindsey O.

Yelp
Pros: 1) It's a super fun spot with good ambiance. 2) The salsa trio is good 3) The drinks are good 4) There's outdoor seating Cons: 1) To me, the food just isn't good. The tacos aren't good, the enchilada I had the other day wasn't good. It lacks flavor, is not even close to authentic, but doesn't even taste like good inauthentic Mexican food (which is its own cuisine that can be plenty good). 2) My food came cold the other day. My boyfriend and his friends love this as a hang out spot so I'm sure I'll be back, and I'll keep trying to order things until I find something I like, but so far, not so good.

Yelp
I found this place after reading an article titled, The Best Restaurants In West Philly. I'm glad I checked this place out. The surrounding areas of the restaurant is gorgeous, the entrance is cute! I walked inside and I was greeted immediately, the space, decor and bar setting was great! I spent the afternoon here and felt at peace. The bartender was engaging, the music selection was spot on and others around me were engaged in great conversation. The Queso wasn't my favorite, I felt as though it was too thin and watery to my liking; but it was still good, really good! I'll be back, I like this location and I understand there are multiple. I recommend giving this place a try!
google avatar

Yelp
This is an interesting spot. I came here hoping for $1 tacos, but apparently the $1 taco day is randomly announced on Instagram. But luckily we were there for happy hour. There are a few tequilas on happy hour for $6 and nachos for $6. You can add meat for $4. The nachos and margaritas were pretty good. I wish they had a happy hour menu. This place is LGBTQ friendly. I'm not sure if I'll be returning. I'm not into mad dashes for $1 tacos. Sorry about the half eaten nachos.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Tried the West Philly location after having a great experience at the Graduate Hospital location and I thought this one was so much better!!!!! The outdoor seating is more limited at Graduate Hospital, definitely more spacious and seating at the West Philly location. $1 tacos were quality and our waitress was so nice. Everyone who served our table was very attentive and friendly. Definitely will be coming back here and especially for dollar tocky night!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Hannah M.

Yelp
The best $1 tacos in the city! If you follow the IG page, they annouce $1 tacos the day off every week, it's always a fun vibe inside, they do karaoke on Wednesdays and the employees always are super kind and helpful!

Yelp
Everyone here is really hot & charming in the scruffy, fruity Philly way. I met my girlfriend here and you could too if ur nice to the servers

Yelp
I've frequented Loco Pez for happy hour over the years ever since this location opened up. Pros - solid happy hour deals, half off drafts, half off margaritas, and sometimes you'll get lucky with $2 taco days that are random/announced via social media. Decent food for the price during happy hour Cons - inconsistent, sometimes very slow and miserable service. Food can be hit or miss, but tacos and nachos pretty consistent Service wise, it really depends but we generally prepare for the worst. There's one lady that works/used to work the bar who is absolutely the slowest and so miserable to deal with, she never smiles and genuinely looks miserable her entire shift. There is another female server that has been there for years, and she is always quick as she can when it's busy, fast service and friendly. Our last visit on Friday was the best service we've received in a while from the male bartender! Overall, I recommend Loco Pez for cheap solid tacos and nachos on happy hour. I've never been outside of happy hour so can't comment outside of that!
google avatar

Kelli K.

Yelp
I used to live in this neighborhood so I've been to Loco Pez a lot. The drinks can be really good but are also inconsistent in taste. I'm a fan of the Chevelle - sometimes it comes out perfect and other times it's too sweet and hardly spicy at all. Really depends on who is making your drink here, so that can be disappointing. As for the food, it's not great. My dining companion got a Carne Asada taco and an Al Pastor taco. The Carne Asada was shredded, not chunks of steak. Maybe they brought out the Carnitas instead? The Al Pastor was not good quality and had a bad aftertaste. I am a huge mushroom fan so I was excited to get the mushroom quesadillas. Unfortunately there was a lot of corn in it even though corn is not in the description on the menu. I was not a fan and wish I was mushroom only like what I wanted when I ordered it. We did not get the nachos this latest trip, but I have in the past and the nachos with mushrooms are tasty! I'd stick to nachos and drinks if I come back again. It's so loud if you get seated inside. It's also freezing in there! But the outside tables are really cute if you can snag one. The waitstaff are always really busy so the service can be slow and you might have to flag your server down quite a few times. Overall, Loco Pez on Baltimore is a fine spot if you're in the neighborhood but I wouldn't seek it out and there are much better places to get your Mexican and marg fix in Philly.
google avatar

Boobie D.

Yelp
we accidentally came to this one as my friend put in wrong loco. so we did come inside for a quick mezcal shot! the music was on a great playlist but it was hella loud! you almost had to scream to talk to people with you or around you. very cute too!
google avatar

Christian C.

Yelp
Average food for the price. Ordered the smash burger as suggested by the waitress and it wasn't too bad but nothing special. Waffle fries were actually good. Happy hour nachos are a good deal ($6) for the portion size.

Morris B.

Yelp
Loco Pez just gets better with time. We've been coming for happy hour the past few Tuesdays or Thursdays because the drinks are always solid. The nachos could be better but they are also solid. I need to try their burrito because the tacos don't do it for me, but the drinks, nachos and tres leches? They are certified.
google avatar

Eric F.

Yelp
The tacos are delicious the combination of fresh ingredients gave me the traditional taco taste i craved, friendly staff an fast service for take out , really nice decor for a dine in experience with a full bar .

Lucy C.

Yelp
The chorizo tacos were decent. The sausage was flavorful but a bit greasy. The toppings were fresh and balanced. Staff were polite and quick.

Seth L.

Yelp
Middling Mex food, tortilla soup was decent, tacos were just regular. enjoyed the outdoor seating area.

John C.

Yelp
This place is solid. Kitchen is lighting fast and food is tasty. Great outdoor option when weather is nice.

Si H.

Yelp
We came in and was sat outside. The waiter was rude after I told her(Niki) that we were ready to order whenever she was ready after she gave us our waters. She looked at us and gave us a dirty expression and then did not respond to us. I understand everybody has their days or if you're busy but if you're working a customer facing role then you should be able to be a professional.

Greg M.

Yelp
I've been to Loco Pez a couple times, but I was able to make it to dolly tockies the other week for the first time. One random day a week, every week, at all locations, all of the tacos are $1 after 5pm. It's announced on Instagram, so be sure to keep an eye out for it. Dolly tockies works perfectly with happy hour - you can get 2 margaritas and a couple tacos for less than $20. I've also had the smashburger, which was good as well.
google avatar

Sandra H.

Yelp
The venue is beautiful with a relaxing atmosphere. Great service, food and drinks. Food and drinks delivered to your table in an instant. Loved this place. Looking forward to dining there again soon....
google avatar

Kinte C.

Yelp
This restaurant is a perfect case study of mediocrity. Nestled in the heart of West Philly in between Penn, Drexel, and USciences campus it's a prime location for "college food". My expectations weren't high but the price doesn't match the value. I'm more than willing to pay a handsome price if the food is equally exceptionally. I ordered an enchilada and the flavor profile was a bit chalky. Certainly not the worst I've had but far away from the best. If you're looking for a quick bite in the area with little to low expectations this might be a spot for consideration. However, if you're actually searching for quality Mexican food I would consider one of the several other restaurants scattered around the area.
google avatar

M C.

Yelp
You have officially made it complicated to order online!! what happened with Toast and why do I need to create an account to place an order?! There should be a guest option??? And forget about trying to call you'll get someone in India answering the phone. So much for my local favorite around the corner!
google avatar

Yelp
I went here with my sister and fiance and we were able to get a decent sampling of the menu. We split their chicken quesadillas as our appetizer and also tried a bite each of their special taco of the day which was fried oyster. I ordered the chorizo enchiladas and really enjoyed it; we all thought the food was good and appreciated the sauce varieties they had on the table. My fiance also had their enchiladas and my sister got a steak burrito and everything came out as expected. We thought everything was flavorful and I loved that the dishes all came automatically with beans and rice. We all also had drinks as well; I ordered the Fairline, which was pineapple infused tequila, guava, and lime juice, but ended up trading my drink with my sister's, who ordered the Chevelle, which was habanero infused olmeca altos plata, mezcal, passion fruit puree, and lime. It was a really unique tasting drink and really delicious; my original one was great too, really refreshing, but after tasting each other's, my sister and I just liked what we each got instead of our original order. To end everything, we split a tres leches cake, and we really loved their version. The hint of coconut flavor in it was everything! The only complaint I would have about our experience is how slow the service was towards the end; our waitress disappeared after dessert and finding her to try to grab our check was really tough; we even had to go in and grab someone else to try to find her for us and take our check. We had to hurry a bit at that point due to an oncoming thunderstorm while we were eating outside.

Lauren G.

Yelp
If I could leave zero stars I would. We had a party of six last night, 4 adults and 2 kids. Food was bland but edible. The pitcher of margaritas was really "off". Nevermind the ratios were off and tasted nothing like a margarita- there was this weird taste we couldn't get past. The table came to the consensus it must have been a bottled lime or something juice that was rancid. A restless night for all, drinking Pepto trying not to puke- followed by a morning of severe sickness and the realization that we have some kind of food poisoning. Love that on a $200 check. Avoid this place. The only thing edible was chips/salsa.

Joseph M.

Yelp
Went there tonight as a family and agree with the general sentiment... the food is good but not great, the service comes from friendly people who seem sincere, and the costs do not match the food. The cost of the food was too high for the quality of the food. They also add a kitchen service fee of about 9% or so, and combined with the contrast between the bill and the food quality that made me uncomfortable giving the friendly service as much as I would normally. Overall that makes for a not great experience. I would consider going back, but only for a light meal and drinks, and only if I was already in the specific area because it isn't difficult to find great drinks and appetizers in our city.
google avatar

Yelp
I've got some bones to pick with this location. FOR TAKE OUT, ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING. I've only gotten take-out from the location. First time (two days ago) I got two chili dogs and they forgot the jalapeños. Today, I got another two and they pretty much forgot everything - it was just chili and hot dog. They forgot the cheese, crema, and jalapeños. We had to go allll the way back after we got home to get new hot dogs. What a gigantic inconvenience. Such a shame because food is 4, but reliability is 0. I was going to pick up two pounds of adobo wings tomorrow for a BBQ but not anymore. I'm not making a fourth trip up there to pick up one and a half pound of wings when I ordered two pounds. I hear their wings are very very good. Anyway, on to the food - obviously I am in love with their chili dogs. It is beanless, which is an absolute must for me. The jalapeños on there is a winner. I discovered this from their Northern Liberties location. This location just keeps messing that up. When and IF they get it right, it is so so so good! I love their chicken quesadilla too. I put mine in the oven so the outside is extra crispy. The ground beef burrito was pretty good, except it was not very well distributed. The beef pretty much on one end of the burrito. I was essentially eating a rice burrito during the first half.

Yelp
Ah, Loco Pez. I've been wanting to try food from here for over a year, but the happy hour crowds always held me off from the possibilitity of dollar tacos and $4 margaritas. That and the very mixed Yelp reviews, plus the negative assessment from a friend of a friend (granted, I don't know the friend's friend's tastes, but this explains the missed opportunity to go with the friend, who is actually my brother, whose word is basically sacred to me). During the takeout-only period of pandemic-2020 though, I decided maybe it was a safe time to take a chance on vegetarian burritos. You know how there's very few reviews about the burritos, and fewer pictures? Turns out there's a reason for that. So this very disappointed assessment is for the vegetarian burritos only. Unless you enjoy your burritos filled with a relatively bland blend of rice, cheese, crema, and a smattering of your selected filling (there were maybe 5 or 6 small mushrooms in mine, and not much soy chorizo in my partner's) there's really no reason to get this item. I basically inundated my food with fresh ground pepper and line juice to give it actual flavor. I'll say that their takeout setup is very friendly and convenient, from the 47th street entrance. I am still willing to consider going back to try that taco/margarita happy hour, but that could still be a long way off. If/when that happens, I will update this review.

Yelp
The food is disgusting. I've been here three times and it does not get better with time. They do not serve authentic Mexican food. The food lacks flavor and when it does come out, it's cold. I ordered a bowl and it was watery and inedible. Service sucks. We waited forever to get our food - only for them to send out the order. The only thing that is good is their music and tequila selection. I will never visit again.

E J.

Yelp
Nice neighborhood semi-hipster place to hang out for drinks. But food is forgettable. Nachos were soggy (bottom portion was actually watery... lol). Tacos had relatively generous fillings but were unfortunately tough and lacked taste. Servers were friendly and if you stick to mainly drinks or beer it's a fun cool spot to hang with friends.

Mary Z.

Yelp
Good local spot for happy hour. $6 nachos and good drink deals too. The burrito bowls are fire.

Dawn F.

Yelp
The adobo wings were terrific, nicely spiced and good-sized. But for $20 (!!!) the nachos were burnt - like the chips were charred and black. We also got a fish taco which was.. bad. Two tiny pieces of fish and not much else but a LOT of cold tortilla and sour cream. I want to love this place so much because it's in the neighborhood, but I used to live in the Italian Market and every place there is better.
google avatar

Emily P.

Yelp
The perfect spot in University city for a delicious and good priced meal! This place also does a dollar taco night each week which is a must try. The drinks here are very strong, but flavorful and you really get your moneys worth. The food is the same. Well made and very tasty. The chips and salsa are good and many of the taco options are very tasty and made well. Highly recommend!

paige b.

Yelp
Food came out cold and we were not provided silverware or checked up on until 15-20 mins later. In their defense, I am also not a huge fan of Tex-Mex. Therefore if you are, you might enjoy their food more than I did. Just not my cup of tea. Margarita was good though!
google avatar

Jenaya P.

Yelp
I really been on a nachos kick for awhile, the last nachos from a different place were decent but these were much better! I ordered veggie nachos and it had refried beans, jalapenos, green peppers, scallions boy it was loaded! Service was wonderful as well, I simply called and placed my order and in 10 minutes they were ready. The lady was super friendly. I definitely got service with a smile! The price was also right. I paid about 10.00 and they even gave me extra nachos in a small bag with extra sauces! It's the little things! How wonderful! Luckily it's close to my job as well which means I'll be back!!

Yelp
We went for happy hour at Loco Pez, which was a good time. Margaritas were great. Tacos were mediocre (2 stars). Ambience was nice and vibrant.
google avatar

Christopher C.

Yelp
Service was very nice and personable. Our server was a nice person and attentive - so kudos for that! I had the adobo seitan enchiladas. The dish sounded so appetizing and, as a vegetarian, exciting to see seitan as an option. Sadly, the seitan lacked any flavor or defining consistency. It wasn't rubbery, but it also wasn't chewy. It was just there - even less than tofu can be. The rest of the dish was great - sauce, beans, veggies - though those elements are less specialized. I will say the portion was quite large so you'll have some for home.
google avatar

Lywar A.

Yelp
I love their taco, the only taco I don't recommend is Jumbo Shrimp Taco, it taste nothing special. Otherwise, The food was good and I will definitely come back

Ohm L.

Yelp
This place sucks. I just moved to the area and was hopeful knowing there was a taco spot down the street from my apartment. I decided to give them a try a couple months ago and got 3 tacos and was thoroughly disappointed. I got a burrito yesterday, giving them another shot, and was equally disappointed with it. The tortillas on the tacos seemed undercooked and would fall apart with the littlest bit of moisture from the filling. The 'carne asada' in the burrito tasted like it was cooked and left to sit for hours in a dirty pressure cooker, as well as lacking flavor. For the prices and inauthenticity, it's nowhere near worth it. It seems they're trying to copy Mad Mex's vibes. I wished I'd just gone to chipotle where I could find better quality. 0/10.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Saturday early afternoon. Was fairly empty and could get a seat right away when we walked in! I ordered breakfast tacos for brunch and she ordered al pastor tacos. The breakfast tacos were really yummy and filling. Loved having the eggs and all the other toppings. It made the taco very flavorful and amazing to eat. My friend's al pastor taco was not as good. It was extremely water-y and didnt taste like the normal al pastor I was used to. Would definitely come back for the breakfast tacos, but not sure if I would come back for the al pastor.

Yelp
First time at Loco Pez. The service was really efficient and quick. Chill environment, the lunch hour is good for bringing in your laptop and getting some work done or a quick business meeting. The food was decent, I'd stay away from the seitan tacos next time and try something else. The soy chorizo was a surprisingly good option

Yelp
First time coming to this local Mexican restaurant, welcomed by kind staff and was able to sit outside on a nice summer day! My friend got the vegan nachos which she states is one of the best things on their menu! I grabbed a multitude of meats for my tacos, and was definitely full after eating 4! I will say their tacos are kind of pricy - around 3.5-5$ per taco. It was good but I don't think I will be coming here unless I am really craving tacos again, but it was a great experience!

Yelp
Just because it was Dollar Stroll tonight does not make it cool to blast loud terrible karaoke singing with the front door open at 11:45pm. Some people have to go to work tomorrow morning. Like me at 6:15am. It's disrespectful to the neighbors that have lived here many years before you cats rolled in to this block. Show some respect. And I'd like to add the food is mediocre at best. Don't waste your money, go to Don Barriga on 45th and Spruce.

Yelp
The fish taco was bland and small--looked like a fish stick. Don't know if this has changed since the pandemic--but they were cash only.

Yelp
Finally got to try this place! We arrived 2 minutes before the end of Happy Hour. Our server, Siobhan was nice enough to get us a Happy Hour drink. She was friendly and gave us lots of info about the menu and the restaurant. There's a Happy Hour with 1/2 price beers and $2 off margaritas during the week but also from 1-3 pm on weekends! The classic margarita was really good! You can get a salt or sugar rim. The white sangria was also good. The tacos were delicious. We tried the al pastor (pork with pineapple), steak and chicken. We also had the fish. There was no problem getting it grilled rather than fried. The tacos are a little on the small side but had a good amount of meat. 3 made a nice lunch. The decor is pretty cool at this location. It's like a 60s Rec room or an old school corner diner. There's a bar area and tables. Follow on social media for to hear about $1 taco nights

Yelp
I ordered the soy burrito and nachos for takeout. I've heard great things about Loco Pez, but I don't think they are known for their burritos. The soy burrito had soy chorizo, beans and rice, but was a bit bland for my taste. Luckily the meal came with three salsas that added more flavor and a kick, but I wouldn't order the soy burrito again. I also ordered the nachos which were great! The nachos came with extra chips on the side that were nice and crispy.

Yelp
Idk what took me so long to get here...I love this place! Affordable food and drinks with tacos ranging from approximately $2.50-$4 and drinks are $6-8 - I felt like I was in Mexico! AND the drinks are mas fuerza with heavy pours *2 thumbs up*. My fav was the shrimp taco and the mushroom taco was pretty scrumptious as well (I think it was basted in bbq sauce). Oh and let's not forget about the queso! It was a special menu item when I dined so you better pray that you dine on the right day. They've created outdoor pods to accommodate the COVID climate but be sure to dress warm if it's chilly because there aren't any heat lamps. Our server was very attentive and nice. Street parking is pretty manageable but there with a few minutes to spare in case you have to loop the block. Looking forward to returning and apparently they have a rewards program so inquire about signing up before paying your check. I could totally see this being a Taco Tuesday situation in the summertime!
