Modern Safaris Match African Cuisines With Outdoor Adventure | Eater

"Led by chefs with South African roots who embrace East African flavors, this camp pairs fragrant Cape Malay curry and herbaceous slow-cooked meats with pastry-forward desserts such as masala-spiced panna cotta with rooibos-poached pear, and signature sundowner cocktails like a prickly pear mix. The food program sources from nearby smallholder farms and a women-led garden initiative that supplies greens, tropical fruits, and even camel milk, while private pool barbecues, lantern-lit deck dinners, and lively nyama choma nights (featuring githeri, sukuma wiki, and chapati) create convivial, place-driven dining experiences." - Joyce Oladeinde

White Rhinos Are Thriving in Rwanda Following a Historic Translocation - AFAR

"In Kenya’s Laikipia County, the 57,000-acre area that makes up the Loisaba Conservancy, owned by the Loisaba Community Trust, hasn’t seen black rhinos since every last one was poached in the 1970s. That’s about to change at the end of September 2022, when Loisaba begins a months-long process to reintroduce black rhinos using populations from nearby Solio Ranch, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, and Ol Malo. Stay at Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp, a collection of eight rooms under canvas that sit on the edge of an escarpment, or the eight-tent Loisaba Lodo Springs, which puts guests next to a wildlife-rich savanna. Or sleep under the stars in one of the four Elewana Loisaba Star Beds, where rooms on raised platforms are only partially covered by thatching, and four-poster beds on wheels can be rolled out under the night sky." - Jennifer Flowers

This is a stunning location clearly curated by a team of professionals. Our stay was near faultless. The quality of the guiding (arguably the most important aspect) was excellent; knowledgeable, kind, considerate, passionate about conservation and very proactive. The quality of accommodation is excellent as was the quality and quality of food. Each of the mini experiences (e.g. sundowners atop a hill in the conservancy) was a real bonus. This experience felt more like real game spotting experience than busier more commercial parks; at most two vehicles sharing a sighting at a time. I’d love to take more family there in the future.

Stayed first night at Star Beds, just unbelievable. Then moved to sister camp in the most luxurious tents. Food is so amazing, seriously. Staff are so nice and accommodating. Luke (manager) incredibly Great. Resin - our guide through entire 4 days was Unbelievable, saw so many animals - Black Rhino, lion group with 4 cubs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, Dik Dik, antelope, Hippos, Striped Hyena, Bat eared Foxes (both on night safari), Kudu right outside our tents.|Just Magical. Took most amazing Heli ride - life changing experience with Josh of African Heli Adventures. Heli ride is a MUST. Josh incredible knowledgeable, the flight and stops with coffee and lunch - just a Life Changing experience. |This place is a 10 plus, highly recommend .

The whole experience was amazing. The staff, our guide (Mohammed), the facility, the food and the personal attention we were given by everyone were all exceptional. Luke was great, and our waiter, Barnaby was a delight. What a place! And then there were the animals! Highly recommend!

We had an incredible 3 days at Loisaba. I have stayed at several lodges in Africa, 7 trips total, and this ranks up near the top. The accommodations were sharp. The location gives you one of the best views that a lodge can provide. Our whole group loved the food. Everything was salted perfectly.||Our guide, Big John, has a sharp eye for the animals and how they react to each other. One example of this is he saw a giraffe acting strange because it was looking a certain way. We went to where it was looking and there was a leopard, our 2nd one at Loisaba. As we were viewing the leopard we saw a striped hyena lurking for the prey that the leopard was sitting near. A phenomenal sighting.||Luke, the manager of the lodge, is a wonderful host. He is the most engaged manager I have ever had at a lodge. He was consistently greeting us when we returned from drives, always around at meals, and made sure we had everything we needed. I sprained my ankle the first day. He found a bandage wrap that helped tremendously with the swelling. ||Overall a great stay.

We LOVED every minute of the stay. The room and view is absolutely breathtaking. I could not dream of anything better. Raphael is a rockstar safari guide, we saw all Big 5 within 2 days and he is an endless well of knowledge about the land, animals, and culture. The accommodation is incredible, food is delicious, animals are spectacular, but it is the people that make Loisaba Tented camp truly special.

The trip was flawlessly developed and executed without any problem from the time we landed in Nairobi to our departure. We were pampered and look after without reservation. the beauty of the Kenyan setting is only wxceeded by the pleasant disposition of the people. We enjoyed the safaris, camp accomodations , the trips to the villages. The memories of the people and the adventures will last a a lifetime.

First trip to Africa and the Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp was incredible!! Everything about our stay was top notch, the safari drives twice a day, the food, the spa, and the staff were all 5 stars. Luke is the General Manager and he has the camp firing on all cylinders, he is extremely personable and showed incredible hospitality. The accommodations were super comfortable, the safari vehicles were great and can’t think of anything I would change about our trip! Great place to put on your Africa bucket list!!

We are very seasoned travellers. So it really means a lot for me to say that this was truly the most amazing 3 days ever. The camp itself is pure luxury. The staff are both friendly and outstanding. Daily touch points with Luke the GM and each of the team made us feel truly spoiled. The rooms are beautiful and look exactly like the photos. The pool is luxury. ||Our Guide Dalmas was fantastic. He taught us about each of the animals and the landscape. Filling our heads daily with fascinating facts. We very much enjoyed our discussion on culture, politics and the global environment too. Of the wildlife just to name a few highlights: the lions cubs, the lion kill, the leopard cubs, the elephants, the black rhino c plus lots of birds, lion food and even a snake. ||I would highly recommend the massage. One of the best I have ever had. Plus a great choice of activities. ||However, for us the absolute icing on the vegan cake was the carefully curated daily vegan options. Not only were they delicious but we had a choice of 3 main dishes at every meal. Not a single dish disappointed and there was healthy vegan protein at every meal. This was truly a 5 star vegan dining experience. ||We were so sad to leave and will be telling all of our friends. After Loisaba I am not sure how any other destination will ever compare. ||A big heart filled thanks to the whole team.
