Such a chic spot for brunch! Was excited to try their breakfast items. We got a variety to share. My favorites were the K-Pop Fries (well seasoned and the dip goes really well with it) and the Bo Ne Steak & Eggs. The ribeye was tender and delicious with the baguette and creamy pork liver pate. Will definitely need to try their sandwiches and burgers next time. Super friendly service!

The staff are super friendly and accommodating! I asked for the Banh mi op la— the basic egg banh mi with sambal. However I didn’t expect to get a deconstructed banh mi! It was a funny mishap. All of the ingredients are super fresh and yummy (some assembly is required). Definitely wanna go back and try out the lemongrass tofu!

The Old Skool Bahn Mi is an amazing combination of baguette, pork pate', ham, cheese, pickled veggies, jalapeno, and cilantro. I could eat this every day! Very friendly place, and highly recommended.

Everything I get here is so solid. The bahn mi's all so good and the breakfast burritos are super flavorful with great textures from crispy potatoes.

Very good vegan breakfast burrito, so good taste of everything in. Fresh, delicious combo of tasty vegan cheese, potatoes, their own tofu-egg, and veggies, and a good smokey salsa. I skipped the impossible sausage and asked for avocado instead and it was so yummy. I appreciate that they could make changes in my burrito. The jungle sandwich on sourdough bread was also nice. It's very nice service and there's a friendly atmosphere.

Talk about your happy medium! Venice is full of the fancy and the pretentious and the chains and divey street vendors but here is an unassuming place where you can get a good beer tasty glass of wine and some fine food for some of the best prices anywhere west of the 405. Actually decent alfresco seating on the north side on a neighborhood side street off of Lincoln. Get a sandwich and a fry and have a beer and don't put a hole in your pocket. Order at the counter and they bring it out. Casual fast friendly and good unassuming food. Love this place

Great Bành Mì…like the best sandwich I ever had!! The staff are really friendly and nice. Though the space is pretty small the atmosphere is very calming, which would be a great place to study. It was a bit stuffy inside, but I believe it was summer when I went here.

Was in the area and hungry. This is located in a small strip mall, but worth the effort to find. Ordered the K pop fries which has a generous amount of crispy fries, which are possibly doubled fried so that it keeps it texture and structure under the mound of kimchi, beef, sauce and a fried egg. It's filling! Also ordered the kimchi ban mi which was fresh and tasty. Great place, affordable and friendly service

3.5 The K-pop Fries were fantastic! The Turkey Pesto and Chimichurri Steak sandwiches were fine. Sandwiches needed more protein. Small in the meat department. Prices were average. Won't be craving this place, but not mad at it.

Surprisingly good breakfast burrito. Fresh ingredients and they grill the tortilla Only thing I would change is making it a lil bigger but it's a lil cheaper than most other breakfast burritos so I won't complain. Everyone else's food looked good, too. Will come back for sure.

Stopped by this spot on a weekend and was pleasantly surprised they offered this lunch special on the weekends! $15 for their original burger, fries and beer if your choice. Really great deal and the service was friendly and fast. They have both indoor and outdoor seating so it's a great place to grab a bite and many places around the area to shop! Highly recommend this spot!

I have been thinking about this place for awhile I enjoy the bar across the street but never quite had the opportunity to stop in today! I was pleasantly surprised to see that I was not the only one stopping in on a raining Sunday morning around 11am. The place was filled at this point! There were families, couples and more just taking in some good food and drinks on a Sunday morning! The restaurant offers both food and drinks! The restaurant menu contains items for both breakfast and lunch! Quite an extensive menu! From hamburgers to Vietnamese sandwiches! Plus they have a wide array of refreshments from teas, coffee, beer and wine! On weekends there is an all you can drink mimosa special for 15 dollars! I opted for a bank mai sandwich! I got the veg version teeming with flavors: lemongrass, cilantro, and more! Very fresh ingredients! The bread also had really great crunch! The key to a good one is the perfect bread and fresh ingredients! The sandwich was really yummy! The restaurant itself is very cute! Tiny but well decorated! The restaurant also has happy hour in the week: check their website for times and menu! Thanks for a great experience!

Such a cute small shop to pick up a quick bite to eat! They have minimal seating inside & some seating outside. The inside is so cute! That staff were very kind & it was not too busy around 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. Now for the food: Al Pastor Breakfast Burrito 9/10: great flavor! Not the Mexican Al pastor, but it was satisfying & very tasty! Vegan spicy Banh mi 9/10: again great flavor! The pickled veggies were so good & the mushrooms were exquisite! I love my mushrooms & this nailed it Overall, great spot for a bite to eat & for some coffee

I've been to the other Lokal sandwich location on National. This is the Venice location and it is super cute and modern! The ambiance is chill. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon and I loved it! My only suggestion is the salsa could have more heat. The ice latte was good too. They use coffee from Underground. Service was good. I would come back to try their other breakfast items, sandwiches and burgers. Parking is free and the restaurant is located in a small shopping plaza. I find the prices to be reasonable and this is a winner for me in terms of food quality, ambiance and value !

All their sandwiches are good. I really like the soft and pillowy bread they use for their sandwiches. Onion rings were fire. Not doughy. Indoor ambience has a lot of sunlight. Outdoor seating also gets good sunlight. It does not smell like fried foods inside. Good place for casual and quiet meetups.

Love this local gem. Popped by here to kill sometime before checking into our Airbnb. They staff is really laid back and friendly. There are seats inside San some outside as well. They are also pet friendly. I love how they have vegan options here. I ordered the Bahn Mi Sandwich and it was so delicious. The bread tasted fresh like it just came out the oven. The Bahn Mi was generously filled and the flavors were all on point. They even have mimosas if you are feeling brunch? Will definitely come here again if I'm in the area.

Bahn Mi and K-pop fries were delicious , outdoor seating was also nice. Would for sure come back here.

LOVE Lokal, such a great local sandwich/breakfast spot. I have tried a lot of the menu and I love the breakfast sandwich, the breakfast burrito, and each one of the bahn mis! Coffee is delicious and there is also a selection of beers on tap as well as other refreshing drinks on the menu. The staff at Lokal is SO friendly, I have never had a less than positive experience with the service. There is both outdoor and indoor seating, and parking available on the side street and in the small parking lot of the shopping center off Lincoln. The shop is really cute and a nice place to eat if you aren't taking your order to go. Highly recommend Lokal to all looking for a solid lunch/breakfast bite!

Cute and modern café in Venice that serves delicious bánh mì and an assortment of sandwiches and burgers. There are tables indoors and outdoors and they are first come first serve. You'd order first, get a number to place at your table, and they'll bring the food right out to you. Here's what we ordered: Lokal Dặc Biệt ($14.50) This is the ultimate bánh mì for meat eaters. It came with layers of pork loaf, Vietnamese ham, bbq pork, pork floss, and pork pate and was topped with fried onions, fresh cucumber, jalapeno, mayo, housemade pickled vegetables and cilantro. The baguette was crispy, but not too hard for the roof of your mouth. Each bite had so much flavor from all the different preparations of pork and it was refreshing at the same time with all the vegetables. They also gave a sriracha sauce packet so you can add some kick to your sandwich! Chimichurri Steak ($12.95) Well toasted ciabatta sandwich with a generous portion of steak, fried onions and tomato slices. I loved it with the creamy aioli and the chimichurri sauce. Each bite was savory and creamy with a slight kick from the melted pepper jack cheese. Overall, this is a solid spot for lunch. I love that they serve so many different varieties of food - including vegan options. I would definitely come back to try their other sandwiches and burgers!

I miss the banh mi sando spot that used to be on Venice, but this is a great replacement for that craving. Cute little spot in a strip mall with outdoor seating options. Order and sit down. Service was great. I sorta wish they had a fish dish like the old spot, but I'll quit doing that comparison because the banh mi sando I had was spot on. I had the mushroom banh mi, which had the nice balance of sweetness, spiciness and crunchiness. Love that the bright veggies always feel healthy to me.

Wow, called in an order for this place on a weekend to pick up a bahnmi on my way to the becah. Given that this place is near the beach, I didn't think the bahn-mi would be any good but once I sat in my beach chair and started to eat, I was very pleasantly surprised. The bread was soft and crisp and the cold cut combination paired well. Love the sauce they put in the sandwich which aligns with what I get at Lees and Bahn Mi My Tho. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for that bahn mi fix on the beach. Will be coming back here again for the sandwhich and the coffee!

Super cute sandwich, breakfast, lunch place right on Lincoln. They have a private parking lot in front but also some side street parking is available. Service is great, food delicious, and try one of their coffees, iced or hot. They have some small tables inside. Nice place reasonable prices.

I work close by and come here like once a week. As a lover of gourmet-like sandwiches this place serves up That, plus more! I usually come by around lunch time and never have waited more than 5minutes after placing an order for my food to come out. I think the presentation is great and the ingredients are always fresh! I think their Vietnamese menu options are a real nice bonus too! Lokal offers up nice traditional cravings, and their banh mi's, Viet coffee and other treats are a sweet exotic twist. Clearly it's Not your average sandwich shop. Overall the menu is great and quality is consistently good! I like their easy going and quick service too!

I had the chimichuri steak sandwich with the arugula salad for my first visit...both are very tasty, fairly priced, with a good portion. Ambiance is sleek! I have been here maybe 4-5 times now and love this place. I usually get the banh mis, and my go-to is the Lokal Dac Biet banh mi, which has EVERYTHING in it. I especially go crazy for the pork floss. As a native Houstonian who grew up eating $3-7 banh mis, I'm not used to banh mi being $16, but honestly, it's worth it. The serving size is bigger than you would expect, and I ended up slowly working my way through this sandwich on the beach. I felt like this bahn mi was fresh, made with high-quality ingredients, and was both filling and not too heavy. FYI I ordered online for the first time, and there was a 20% off code you could use! I think delivery is free within a certain radius for orders above $25. I also see a 20% off check-in bonus on Yelp for first-timers right now so if you're reading this, check to see if it's there for you too!

They have a delicious bahn mi. I need to explore their refreshments (look super good) and other sandwiches, but that bahn mi is just so darn good I crave it. I also need to spend more time there, I usually pick-up, but they have an indoor and outdoor area, which could be nice during the spring/summer.

A great place to have breakfast! I could eat the crunchy French toast every morning. I like the fact that they have outdoor seating and staff brings your order after you place it inside. The overall ambience was nice.

Good great. Service fine. But I ask you... How does one local small restaurant business handle their delivery platforms so poorly. Literally never have the right info on GrubHub, DDash etc. All prices are different depending on which you look at. Last time we tried to order the bahn mi's were missing from the online menu and now again today. Then when you call, you are put on hold and they don't return. Then they do answer and they are out of what you wish to order. Now get this...we tell the girl who answered the phone about the bahn mi missing from the online menu's. She also puts us on a long hold neber to return. 7 mins to be exact. Tells us SORRY, iTS GOING TO TAKE A WHILE TO FIX. TRY AGAIN LATER. Right. Got it. I ask if they use other delivery Platforms. She's impatient like we are putting her out but says yes. Let's us hang up. We were ordering food for 11 people. Was going to be some coin involved here!! We are treating office to a main, side item, coffee drink or smoothie and a cookie. Aprox 24 each. Plus tip. She does not suggest Uber eats or say YOU ARE WELCOME TO PICK IT UP AS WELL. (Which is what we ended up doing. We got food from a spot nearby She just maintains that it's going to be a while and hangs up.

Just found this gem today! So far this is one of the best vegan burger places in Venice. Cute little place, clean, nice employees. The only thing I wish is that the impossible patty wasn't SUPER thin. I'm hoping it was just a one off. Lol. I also had the garlic edamame which had a very small amount of flavor but tasty. Definitely going back!

Wanted a really good Italian sandwich and found this little place that I passed on Lincoln 10thousand times before. It's adorable inside and has a small cute patio too. Employees were very friendly. Seems like a real local spot. Food was homemade right in front of me and delicious. Pastries and all sorts of yummy drinks too.

Good food, always. I went to the Venice Lokal after visiting the Culver City location. I had no idea there was one even closer to me! My boyfriend, Zach, got to town, and I've been showing him my favorite foods in the area. I have recently added Lokal to my list after visiting the Culver City location (which I also rated 5-stars). Zach ordered the breakfast burrito, and I ordered my usual, 'The Jungle' for dine-in. Both meals were well-enjoyed and delicious. He knew why I wanted to go so severely once he took a bite of his meal. Good parking (an actual lot), a clean shop, and delicious food. Another local who loves Lokal!

I mean, really there are no complaints. The food is really good. I got the banh mi, onion rings, and fries. I guess one complaint is the vietnamese coffee was lacking a bit of sweetness from the condensed milk, but really, still full of flavor. Service was great, food came out fast. The Venice location was great. If you're in the neighborhood, swing by and grab a sandwich.

I'm a total stan for Lokal Sandwich Shop. I've been going since about 2017/2018. Around that time I was going to their Palms location but now I go to this Venice one. Admittedly I haven't tried their extended menu with the burgers at this location but what I like so much about this place is that its so reliably good, consistent, and a competitive/affordable option. My favorite of all time item is the sunrise sandwich for breakfast. I like to add jalapeño other favorite items include: The jungle sandwich Avocado smoothie Churro french toast Any bahn mi Extra points also for using groundwork coffee. I did see also that they make some cool Soju mixed drinks! Totally up my alley as soju is my favorite spirit, would love to try them sometime when I can come on a weekend. If they were open for dinner I would have tried it sooner lol I understand that operating hours are hard since Covid though ! Thank you all for just being so good and so reliable I appreciate you

Lokal Sandwich is a touchdown in my book. Our crew kicked off football Sunday with takeout sandwiches and smoothies from Lokal. I've been actively trying to embrace football this year and figured that pairing it with great food couldn't hurt. My assumption was correct! This delicious sandwich helped alleviate some of the pain of drastically losing in Fantasy football. When I arrived to my friends watch party with lunch the crowd went wild. Almost everyone ordered some version of Lokal's fan-favorite Banh Mi, but I went with the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. This toasted sandwich was stuffed with pesto, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and thick slices of grilled chicken. I also tried their refreshing watermelon smoothie, which was light on the sweet side. Thankful for Lokal making football Sunday slightly more bearable.

I ordered the grilled chicken ban mi which was very good. The service was super friendly and I'll definitely return.

I work right next to here and go all the time I've never had a bad meal from here it's incredible every time No matter what I order the steak and chimichurri is the best thing ever.

I spoke with Kelsey via telephone about my (to-go) Good Burger, and without hesitation [she] offered to another Burger with the specifications I had intended. I am certain [Lokal] was not begrudged to make me the best [good burger] in town. Even more, I am grateful I tried the offered beverage; the fresh orange was perfect; not too tangy, not too citrusy. If you're in Venice [CA], and want to try a local good bite - visit LOKAL.

I was craving a bahn mi sandwich soooo badly one day, and I found Lokal. It is probably the most authentic option in the area as well as the most reasonably priced. I ordered the Old Skool. I appreciated all of the fresh veggies they packed into the sandwich, and the bread tasted fresh. Sometimes, the bread at other sandwich shops can get a bit stale and crusty, but this did not have that stale taste. I do wish that they had a bit more of the meat (I think that there is an option to get extra meat, but you have to pay more for it). The ends of the sandwich were a bit sparse with the filling. That said, I will definitely come back the next time I have a bahn mi craving.

I've stopped in twice now and had solid experiences both times. There is nothing overly fancy here, but Lokal uses high quality ingredients and are quick to get your order out which is always nice during lunch hours. First time I stopped by I had a breakfast sandwich and an espresso and both were delicious. Second time around I tried the Italian 2.0 sandwich and while tasty, I found the meat to be cut a bit thick and the mayo to be a bit heavy for my liking. Either way, the kitchen seems consistent and the staff have been very friendly both of my visits. It's been pretty empty and although it's decently nice inside, it lacks a tad bit of the atmosphere I like to enjoy when grabbing a bite out.

I tried their lemongrass tofu banh mi sandwich recently and WOW it was sooo delicious. The bread/baguette was the perfect amount of crispy and all of the ingredients were incredibly fresh (cilantro and jalapeño especially). I ordered using GrubHub for pick up and they weee super quick with the order and it was an easy and convenient process overall. I'm so glad they have vegan options and I am looking forward to trying more from their vegan menu in the future.

Good tasty sandwich at a good price. It took a bit since I didn't order ahead, so I'd suggest doing that if you don't have much time. It's a very sweet shop, super clean and bright. The bread was excellent with a nice crisp outside and soft inside. Very fresh as were the Sando ingredients. I will be back to try more Sandos and breakfast. Cute lil patio on the side to nosh outside. Friendly service.
