Lola Rose is one of my favorite new brunch destinations in Palm Springs. Located inside the Thompson Hotel, it offers a diverse menu, a sophisticated space, and a level of attention to detail and great service that makes every visit feel like a treat.
The food is Mediterranean-inspired with some flavorful spices and twists that still feel familiar in a great way. I've been twice now, and my friends have visited several times more--every experience has been a hit.
Highlights:
-The breakfast sandwich is exceptional, with a croissant-like bun, soft scrambled eggs, avocado, sausage, and melted cheese and an aioli. It is a perfect bite. The crispy, fluffy potatoes on the side are perfectly done, and I appreciated the side of ketchup without needing to ask. It's a large satisfying plate.
-The Ricotta Lemon Pancakes are a visual and flavor standout. They're topped with decadence like Chantilly, candied pecans, and macerated berries. It's delightfully sweet but balanced, and absolutely unique.
-The Shakshuka is bold and comforting. It's savory and hits all the right amount of spice and heat.
-Lola Rose Grand French Toast has earned its name. It is rich and indulgent in the best way, topped with caramelized pineapple and mascarpone. It tastes like pineapple upside-down cake with crispy edges meets French toast for a luxurious brunch moment.
Cocktails are equally well thought out--beautifully crafted and layered with flavor, whether you prefer something citrusy, herbaceous, or bold.
One note: I've had the fried chicken and waffle a couple of times. It's super crispy and comes with a za'atar crust and chili butter, but for me, the chicken itself could use more flavor. It's still good, but I tend to order other favorites instead.
The space itself is stunning, think relaxed luxury resort. Both the indoor and outdoor areas are thoughtfully designed with warm wood, soft light, and a relaxed, upscale feel. The poolside patio is especially lovely, with plenty of room to enjoy your meal at your own pace.
Parking tip: if you park in the Thompson Hotel garage (not valet) and they'll validate your parking.
