The Best Austin Restaurant Dishes of 2021, According to Eater Austin Editors - Eater Austin

"I am not even really a doughnut person, but the creations from Lola’s Donuts are basically irresistible. My favorite was the rich, cakey, indulgent coffee Oreo donut that was quite satisfactory for dessert, although I also appreciated the giant glitter fritter — a kiwi/mango batter with a coconut rum glaze. The flower-covered shop front is adorable, and this is one of the few times a restaurant is both perfect for Instagram and excellently crafted. —ER" - Nadia Chaudhury, Erin Russell

Typical American donuts are yeast donuts or cake donuts but the BRIOCHE donuts are unique in that they leaven with a French brioche dough- so think more eggs and butter. Then they’re fried. Compared to a regular donut the brioche donuts have more substance and are denser. They’re going to leave you satisfied. The cruller is yeast free and the leavening agent is mechanical as a result of how the eggs are added in. Then they’re fried quickly at high heat so you get a crispy outside and moist inside like a churro! Speaking of that, the churro cruller was delicious. This is a to-go window only, beautifully decorated with flowers. There is a glass display case on the side of the window where the brioche donuts and crullers are placed so you can see what your options are before you order. I think anyone used to cake donuts and regular yeast donuts owes it to themselves to try both of these delicacies from Lola’s Donuts.

Google
Ok now!! This is a tiny counter- togo spot for donut! Open only 3days from 8am to 1pm .. and they sell out pretty fast! Floral arrangement is the only pretty thing over there! Good for pictures but there are better donuts out there … I definitely like their Cadbury brioche donut for sure but not nutter butter. They only had 4 or 5 donuts left ..

Lola’s Donuts is a must visit in Austin. Get there early or the popular ones will be gone. I got there on Saturday around 10 and there were just two left, of course I had to get both, my favorite being the butterfinger. It was so good! Definitely the spot for the Gram with the floral backdrop. I’ll be back to try more flavors!!

Google
Lola’s donuts have been one of my go-to spots for inventive donuts that are still delicious with a great balance of flavor. In general I’d recommend going earlier since - like others have said - they do sell out pretty quickly, especially over the weekend. The dough seems to be a bit lower quality than it used to be, they aren’t AS pillowy as they were last year (maybe some turnover with the bakers?) but they’re still definitely very good donuts. Make sure to get something inventive (coffee toffee shown in one of my pics) to make it worthwhile. If you’re nearby I’d recommend trying it out

Google
Unique and fun flavors! Soft, fluffy and chewy dough. Not too sweet and kinda old fashioned tasting. Also got to try a jelly filled with a unique cranberry filling. The filling and the dough together made it a great combination. Hope they introduce gluten-free donuts soon so my husband and I can stop by more often!

Google
The donuts are delicious with a beautiful presentation. You can walk up and see the available donuts in the window. There were a few people in line when we were there at 9am on a Saturday. Plenty of parking in back of the building. The staff were very friendly, and they do have coffee. The donuts came out quickly after ordering. Would definitely come back!

Google
Just okay. Very greasy, but no one expects donuts to be a health food. I was most disappointed with the flavor profiles of the donuts. Very underwhelming. I hoped the strawberry cereal milk one would pack a strawberry or even cereal milk punch, nope. I liked the texture of the chocolate churro cruller, but I could not taste any cinnamon; it also seemed like a regular choux dough as opposed to chocolate as stated. The flavors of the peanut butter chocolate one were good, but the cake donut was overly dense. The blueberry fritter(rotating flavor) was okay, pretty good if you can get a bite with blueberry in it. The cherry amaretto was the best flavor I’d say, the jam was delicious. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place, but the donuts we do have aren’t going to waste.

Google
Ordered Online. I ordered the Mexican hot chocolate and ended up with whatever this is, s’more? The dips are $2.50 each, I ordered 2 and they didn’t even give them to me. The box they gave to me had grease stains of another doughnut, which makes me question their sanitary practices… at least the lemon lavender donut was decent

Yelp
@lolasdonutsatx has the best and most unique donut flavors in Austin. They are sooo delicious and sooo fresh. Any flavor is a legit 5/5 This is a must stop when in Austin.

Yelp
I've never seen a cuter donut shop! It was almost impossible to choose which donuts to order! I ended up tasting the brown butter cruller and unicorn sprinkle donuts. Both were delicious and so fresh.
google avatar

Yelp
I got these for a party I was going to so I got a lot of different opinions but we all agreed that they look better than they taste unfortunately. They all look beautiful, but only a few were actually worth getting. The strawberry cereal, the chocolate strawberry, and the stuffed donut were the best. All the others I could live without. Some of the others didn't have much flavor or didn't taste fresh. I think it's hit or miss with this place.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely amazing donuts! You can order online and pick up at their window. We tried a few different ones and the donut holes. All were fresh and delicious. I was impressed by their decadent donuts like coffee toffee and Mexican hot chocolate. The flavors were not too overpowering and were well-balanced. I'll definitely come back to try some of the other flavors.

Yelp
Lola's donuts has such a cute store front. You order at a take out window that is covered in flowers. It is V cute. And you can see it from the street which makes it stand out and cause you want to check it out. I didn't know what to expect. Tbh their donuts looked very good and cute on IG, but you never know how that will pan out. They were delish! I got 6 donuts: dark chocolate, strawberry cereal milk, fruity cereal milk, churro cruller, lemon spiced filled, & coffee toffee. I was pleasantly surprised with how light and delicious the donuts were to taste. Overall they were really good and only one or two were a touch sweeter than I would like. I'll definitely be going back. My favorites were the churro cruller & fruity cereal milk.

Brendan M.

Yelp
Open two days a week, sketch. Place is a front. But who doesn't love drugs? Doughnuts were pretty. But not very tasty. Great service. Girl at that front was very sweet. Ambiance was really good for a donut shop. Wish them the best.

Yelp
Fantastic donuts. Absolutely love the peanut butter, coffee toffee, and dark chocolate brioche donuts - they're not too sweet. Cruller had a great texture - super light and airy. Maple bacon was missing bacon (got it discounted) but thought it was exceedingly sweet. The brioche dough has more chew than I'm used to, it's a different kind of donut altogether but it's tasty! Lola's is a great special occasion treat

Yelp
YUMMY!!! These donuts were the bomb dot com! I was visiting Austin with some girlfriends, and getting a dozen of these donuts for breakfast was the best choice ever! So many unique flavors and they were all so pretty too! Some things to note... -These donuts are very popular! You can order online to be picked up on the weekend, or you can stop by the pick up window on the actual weekend on a first come first served basis. If you want to order online, make sure to head to their website for online ordering instructions. -This shop has very limited hours. Currently their hours are only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Make sure to bring your camera if you want a photo of these gorgeous donuts. They have the perfect floral wall right at the pick up window! It's so pretty! What was my favorite donut flavor? The Raspberry Lychee for sure! There are so many donut places around Austin... but I would for sure recommend Lola's Donuts!

Yelp
This is my second time at Lola's and I will come back! I love their rotating flavors and the creativity in taste and design in them all. No donut has ever tasted bad. I have had an occasional few that were undercooked, specifically the cruller which is supposed to have a crispy exterior, but I feel like that's a consistency issue, not a design flaw. None of the donuts have ever tasted stale, which is worlds different than some other famous fun donut places in town. Won't name names, but I won't ever go to places with a track record of stale donuts and that has ruled out 3 places in Austin. If you're looking for a wow factor donut that has creativity at its roots and are ok with 1/12 not having perfect texture, then you can't go wrong getting a variety from Lola's.
google avatar

Christina T.

Yelp
This shop is a service window only. No places to sit down and enjoy the donuts. However, the donuts aren't good. The donut holes were soggy, not fluffy. The Oreo donut was even worse because it didn't taste fresh. Overall, the donuts "look" appealing but do not taste good. I would've preferred to go to our regular ma and pa dinky shop but wanted to try a different place. One star for their beautiful floral aesthetic wall decor.

Yelp
Visually, this place is great. It's a small shop in a strip with a cute, little wall you can take pics in front of and a big easy-to-see menu, but I'm not eating Instagram posts. Take your pics and go elsewhere for your sugar fix. The strawberry cereal milk donut was too sweet. Yes, I know that flavor sounds sweet, but this was cloying, and the frosting was grainy. I bounced between a 2 and 3 star rating on that blah donut alone, but we also ordered two churro donuts. The latter of which were not cooked thoroughly as they were super wet inside. Not a good surprise to bite into. It's like they took a perfectly good churro and made it bad. They were also pretty pricey, which you expect for fancy donuts, but not at all worth the cost or the calories in the single bite you'll take. I also bought an espresso vegan thing and tried it the next day, and it was soggy? I couldn't even finish the bite I took. The staff seemed nice and everything was quick so maybe I came on a bad day, but I wouldn't try this again.

Yelp
Lola's is CUTE...like so many of the donut shops in Austin, they're very "Instagramable". Was it my favorite donut ever? No. Not really. Was it fun to try? Definitely! Would I go back? Maybe because the menu changes but would I return for any of the donuts I tried, probably not. The donuts are pretty dense, not your classic airy fried donut, I think that's important to know before you go. They're very filling. The flavor combos they offer are unique and fun but I felt like many of them fell flat for me and just tasted sweet and they were all VERY dry. We are doing an Austin donut tour of sorts and ordered one of almost every flavor to sample a bite or two of, many of the donuts tasted similar despite being described differently. The raspberry Nutella was probably my favorite of our order despite the raspberry not coming through at all. I'm not even a Nutella fan really but it was good on this donut. The coffee toffee was a close second, again, didn't really get the toffee at all but the coffee flavor was good! The Strawberry Cereal Milk was the biggest let down for me, I was most excited about this one but it was just a sugary, sweet donut. I didn't get the strawberry flavor or the cereal milk nostalgic flavors at all. I loved strawberry milk as a kid but this is not it flavor wise. I love that they sell a donut for dogs, my dogs split one and seemed to love it, they're picky/don't like sweets/people food so that's a big deal! I highly recommend ordering in advance online, it was so easy to schedule a pick up and reserve all the donuts we wanted. When I picked up our order on a Saturday around 10 am they were already sold out of a few items for walk up orders. Parking was kind of a thing, the lot is pretty small and on a peak donut time there were not empty spots, it was one car in, one car out essentially. There is not designated seating or dining-in available, it's a walk up window where you order and a door that someone opens to give out orders. All in all a pretty easy and convenient process. Definitely give it a whirl but maybe just order one or two to see if you like them rather than splurge like we did, they're all pretty similar imo and on the more expensive end of donut pricing.

Yelp
I heard about this adorable place through the Instagram grapevine, and knew instantly I had to check Lola's out! As mentioned in previous reviews, they accept pre orders the beginning of the week for pickup during the weekend, or you can opt to walkup (but no guarantees on what you can get because they can sell out pretty quickly). Their menu also changes regularly, so it's awesome to see so many new interesting flavors to try (but if you miss out, you can only cross your fingers you can try that flavor someday!). My husband and I took our chances and decided to do a walk up Saturday morning. They open at 8am, and we got there around 8:45am. We were surprised to already see quite a long line so early! So if you plan to walk up instead of pre order, definitely get there early. They unfortunately already sold out of the Brown Butter Sea Salt Cruller, so I'm hoping to someday give that a try. The donuts we got: Lemon Rhubarb, Meyer Lemon Poppyseed, Orange Caramel, King cake, and the Short Stack. Presentation was 5/5 stars! So adorable and Instagram worthy (especially take a picture of that beautiful flower wall as you wait in line). I highly recommend the Lemon Rhubarb, Meyer Lemon Poppyseed, and Orange Caramel. The King Cake was okay in terms of flavor, not as impressive as the others. Short stack was my least favorite (pretty plain in flavor compared to the others), although it was one of the cutest with the tiny pancakes. I was hoping the pancakes would have some flavor or maple syrup/sugar, but it was pretty plain and mainly serving aesthetics. We'll definitely be back, and looking forward to trying the new rotations of flavors! And we'll make sure to preorder next time!

Yelp
I always pass this business but unfortunately they were always closed. This weekend I had to work so I decided to place an online pick up order on my way to work. 20 min prior to the pick up time I received a text they were working on my order and 4 min before my scheduled pick up time I got another text to tell me they were ready. When I arrived I got 2 boxes (6 doughnuts each) of gorgeous traditional and gourmet doughnuts. Some standouts were the dark chocolate with pirouettes on top, I inhaled that one before anyone asked me to share. The Mexican hot chocolate was also really good, and the lemon filled one. I had to refer to the website to know which ones were which but unfortunately the traditional ones were not listed some were really good but I had no idea which ones were which. My boxes had no advertising of where the doughnuts came from so while my coworkers thought they were amazing, no one knew where they came from unless they tracked me down.

Yelp
lola's donuts are cute and have some unique flavors! their donuts are good, but don't necessarily justify the cost. they're good for a once in a blue moon visit to get a cute picture, but aren't something id see myself going out of my way to get, especially consistently. when my family comes into town, sometimes we grab a dozen over the weekend in the morning when we want a fun breakfast solution! they're fun to cut up, try & share as we compare our favorites! the crullers definitely have more crunch to them and offer a firmer texture while the other donuts are fluffier. the crullers typically are not as sweet as the other donuts are and usually have more "'mature" flavors! our favorites were: maple syrup & bacon (bottom right, pic 1) strawberry cereal milk (top right, pic 2) churro (middle right, pic 2) lavender cruller (top right pic 1 & left middle, pic 2)

Yelp
Presentation is 10/10. I love that you get donut holes with your donut. The guy in the window was extremely helpful and really nice!

Yelp
Decided to drive out to Lola's Donuts for a treat. It has been super hyped up & was exited to try the donuts. But! I was a bit (a lot) disappointed. The donuts did not taste fresh. I thought they were going to just melt in my mouth. It was not cheap!
google avatar

Yelp
A visit to Lola's Donuts makes me happy. Recently they had a donut that had the most fabulous sprinkles on it - think golden unicorn horns and colorful confetti. I was giddy with joy when I saw it. The staff is super helpful and eager to make you smile. Pro tip: head there towards closing and they may throw in an extra treat.
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
I came here on a whim, and I'm so glad I did. The donuts were SO GOOD. I got the short stack and the strawberry lychee donuts. The short stack had a blueberry glaze and mini pancake garnish. The donuts here are brioche, so they are pretty airy. Not as bouncy as mochi flour donuts, but definitely not super heavy. You gotta check this place out.
google avatar

Lydia N.

Yelp
Wish I had read more reviews before stopping by. I can't be sure, but I think the donuts are prepared beforehand, during the week, and then sold from Fri-Sun. I stopped by on Sunday morning and didn't have to wait at all. I got the Peach Bellini & Dulce de Leche donuts as well as their Raspberry Hibiscus Agua Fresca. Unfortunately, like other reviewers note, the donuts were stale. They looked very pretty and the dough itself had a nice flavor, but neither donut tasted like what they were advertised. I was extremely disappointed, a combination of high expectations (from all the stellar Instagram pics), high prices, and low quality control. The agua fresca was really good. I definitely enjoyed it, though it was pretty sweet. And the customer service was friendly! I wouldn't really recommend this place, but if you do go, Friday morning is probably your best bet.

Yelp
For trendy spots I always assume it will be a 30 minute minimum wait, but I was in and out in 5 minutes. It's not worth it for the cake doughnuts as they taste just like your average doughnut shop, but the brioche doughnuts were out of this world. They were so chewy. The filled doughnuts were filled just the right amount so as your hand wasn't dripping with excess. The dark chocolate cinnamon brioche did not taste great. The churro was so saturated in grease I had to spit it out. I love that they change their menu so often. I will definitely stop by for another brioche doughnut when I'm the neighborhood.

Yelp
Fun flower wall and pretty tasty donuts. Still working out some kinks. I visited around 10am on a Friday and waited about 15 minutes before I could order. There were only two folks in line but the person in front of me had returned to the window as their order was incorrect. The item I wanted, the nutella chocolate brioche, was already sold out so I opted for a maple bacon instead. There were legit chunks of bacon as opposed to the sad little bits that some other shops have.
google avatar

Samantha G.

Yelp
While these donuts sure do look amazing, the taste was not there. I stumbled upon their insta and knew I had to try these. There were so many flavor options I couldn't pick one so I opted for the mixed dozen. These donuts are pricy ($45 for the dozen) so I was hesitant to buy them but they just looked so good! I got the assortment so I could try all the flavors and brought them home to share with my parents and sister. We all agreed they tasted pretty stale and didn't scream wow. Actually ended up throwing half of each of them away, which is very rare for me to throw out a sweet treat. I would recommend going to try one but I wouldn't fork out the money for the dozen.
google avatar

Sandi G.

Yelp
I rarely give 5 stars these days but I will do it for Lolas donuts. So the first time I came here, it was noon and they were sold out of almost everything so I ended up not getting any donuts. Fast forward few months later, I made it here at 8am on a Friday and was able to actually get a variety of donuts this time. The donuts are amazing! I got 6 different flavors and each one was the perfect amount of sweetness to dough ratio. The place is drive up only and the menu display is absolutely fabulous! They also display all the donuts they're selling for the day on the window display in case you wanna see what each flavor actually looks like. This place puts saltys to shame when it comes to taste. If you love a good donut, you have to try this place out.

Yelp
We recently tried Lola's for the first time, because like many, I'd seen them on Instagram. I pre-ordered 8 kinds for Saturday pickup so we could try a little of everything (and I'd had a garbage month at work, so who am I kidding?) My husband did the pickup and said it went smoothly. Here's what we tried: - Glitter Fritter: supposed to be apple bourbon but we didn't taste either. It was a bit dry and quite large. - Blueberry Slow Jam: thick (not runny) blueberry jam-filled donut dusted in lavender sugar. Absolutely delicious and our favorite. - Brown Butter Sea Salt Cruller: delicious. Light and almost creamy on the inside, lightly crispy on the outside. Our second favorite. - Raspberry Pop Tart: raspberry cake donut with raspberry glaze. Okay, a bit dry, but had an adorable tiny pop tart on top. - Milky Way - tasted pretty much like a Milky Way, had chocolate icing and a tiny square Milky Way candy on top. Pretty tasty. - Magical Charms - cake donut topped with blue icing and rainbow sprinkles. Good but really sweet and a lot of icing. - Bailey's Brûlée cheesecake - a Bailey's custard filled donut topped with caramelized sugar that was delicious! In our top three. - Coffee Toffee - not a super strong coffee flavor, bits of toffee on top. Pretty good. So overall, the donuts are pretty good and definitely Insta-worthy (as is the facade which is completely covered in flowers). I think the longer they are in business the more solid their donuts will be, and there are already some definite winners in what we sampled. Are they pricey? A little, but the donuts are fun and unique. Will I get donuts there weekly? No. But will I watch the monthly flavor offerings and maybe pop in monthly? Sure I will. Between a pandemic and never really feeling like I'm not at work because my laptop is steps from my living room, a donut per month may be crucial to preventing my head from exploding. If the Blueberry Slow Jam comes back we are there for it.

Yelp
Although I received various opinions, we all concurred that the pastries at this place are more visually appealing than their taste, which is regrettable. While they all have an attractive appearance, only a handful are truly worth trying. The strawberry cereal, chocolate strawberry, and stuffed donut stood out as the most delectable options. On the other hand, the remaining items could be skipped as some lacked flavor or tasted stale. It seems that the quality of the pastries at this place is inconsistent, so it's a bit of a gamble.

Yelp
Hands down best donuts I've had in Austin (which as everyone knows there are many of) Cute lil shop with the flower front, the staff is super friendly They're only open F-Sun so get there early b/c this place is way too good to be a secret and they will sell out of the donuts you want real quick They change the menu every month so we'll grab a variety and do a lil donut taste test with a couple of friends, this place definitely has the most creative selection I've ever heard of. Long story short, you like donuts? Make sure you make your way over to this place one weekend
google avatar

Yelp
Lolas is all the Rave today...everyone is talking about it...All over IG...The photos look stunning...So we had to jump on the hype train...Buts its not hype, they are the real deal...Mind you we only tried 2 different donuts, but our main focus is the Brioche style...to be exact we had the Vietnamese Coffee Brioche Donut...We cant truly describe the texture or the taste, but it is unique and they set themselves aside from other donuts...Hands down one of the best we have had...we also tried the Blueberry Muffin cake donut. The depth of flavor is amazing, and was great!!...Gonna be ordering again soon...There is plenty more we have to try.

Yelp
Lolas was such a delight to try out this weekend. My husband and I travel all over the US trying donuts and rating them for fun. After trying almost every donut shop in Austin we are so happy to report we have finally found a delicious donut shop that is more than just cereal on a donut for creativity or oversized donuts for hype. Lolas was a home run with all of their flavors being powerful leaving me wanting more. My personal favorite was the chai but my second favorite was the lemon rhubarb. The flavors were complex yet fun and I loved how creative they were with the decor on not only the donuts but also the storefront. As a photographer it makes me happy to see other creatives express themselves so boldly like Lolas. The only reason why I give it a 4 and not a 5 is because it seems as if they sell out most mornings by 9 am ish meaning we woke up early and got there by 7:45 am so we could be amongst the first in line to make sure we got donuts. They do lots of pre-orders but it would be nice to see them make more in the future. Overall I'm very happy with these donuts and so thrilled to see such a new business (opened in October) rocking it in the Austin donut scene! Great job and keep up the awesome work.

Yelp
I'd been eyeing Lola's Donuts on Instagram for awhile (more like drooling, seriously, every photo looks to scrumptious) and finally decided to check them out. I'm happy to say, the donuts lived up to my high expectations! First, a bit about the ordering. I went online on a Tuesday to order for a Saturday, as seems like they often run out early (judging by Instagram). I ordered a 6 pack of assorted donuts and ordering was easy. I arrived on Saturday around 10am and waited in line for a bit before picking up my donuts from the window. Some people ahead of me had preordered, but a couple didn't and they didn't seem to have any issues with getting the donuts they wanted, so good to know you don't always have to preorder (but probably better to go early, just in case). Also, I love the storefront. The flowers make the whole experience feel more fun. Now for the donuts! Since we had an assorted 6 pack, it was kinda fun opening the box to see what we got. My son son loved the "surprise." He was really hoping for the King Cake donut after seeing it in the window, so he was thrilled when that was one of the ones we got. We also got an Austin Cream Pie, Nutella Chocolate Brioche, Blood Orange & Milk Chocolate, Strawberry Cereal Milk, and Brown Butter Sea Salt Cruller. I'm no donut connoisseur, but each one was very enjoyable. My favorite was the cruller - it has just the right amount of salt and the dough was lighter than I expected. When I go back, I'm definitely gettin more crullers! The Blood Orange & Milk Chocolate was also a standout for me. The blood orange flavor comes through so nicely, it was a pleasant surprise. The menu changes every month, so I'll definitely be back another month to try the new flavors. Also, this is a place I plan to bring out of town guests to, because it's just so special!

Yelp
I enjoyed this place. I'm not local I was in town for a bach and got us a box to sample for our brunch. There was a maple bacon one that was sooo good. I ordered ahead and just picked up, I also got one for my dog. It's a cute spot!

Yelp
A+ for looks, but it's downhill from there. When I opened the box I was stoked! It all looked so good. We got 6 donuts and I would say one of them was pretty likable - the fruity pebbles one (although the actual cereal on top was stale from sitting with moisture). One was dry, two were too eggy, and one tasted like biting into a sugar cube (the icing was a thick, crunchy, sugar mix). The last and worst was not even cooked inside. Ate a huge ball of raw dough

Yelp
Accidentally gave my coworker a spiked donut at work so that was fun! Old fashioned = bourbon (definitely not boring/plain) The donuts were fine - not amazing, not bad. Glad I gave this place a visit!

Yelp
This place is not just an Instagram worthy spot - their donuts are so so goood! I'm not usually a filled donut kinda gal but the chocolate mascarpone was definitely my fave. We tried six different donuts - the birthday cake, orange caramel, chocolate chai, short stack, chocolate mascarpone and malted milkshake! Birthday and chocolate mascarpone were definitely our faves. This is going to be our new donut spot moving forward. We love to support a local, BIPOC female owned business! Keep rocking !

Yelp
Strawberry Glitter Fritter!! The name alone compelled me to get it. And it did not disappoint. Strawberry chunks throughout the crispy sweet fritter topped with pink sparkles. So good! We also got the dark chocolate brioche for something not too sweet. The texture is the brioche was perfect. Very savory and the dark chocolate complimented it perfectly. Vanilla citrus VGF donut was delicious. Could not tell it was vegan, gluten free. It tasted full of guilt! Cardemon lemon was cute and a perfect flavor combination! And as an extra treat we got the Rumchata donut. Mmmmmmm....savory and sweet. Loved it.

Yelp
Got a pre order in before they sold out and could not have been a better decision! Theyre high quality and beautiful and appreciate supporting a Latinx owned business. Austin badly needed a solid donut shop and we have it!

Yelp
We finally tried Lola's and we were blown away at their flavors and texture. We ordered: * Brown Butter Cruller * Horchata Cruller * Pumpkin Churro Brioche * Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Brioche * Apple Cider Glitter Fritter My favorite was the brown butter cruller and the fritter, but all were delicious. I was surprised, I think was expecting sugar bombs but was pleasantly happy that they weren't overly sweet and didn't make me feel sick or headachey after trying a couple of bites of each. They take preorders starting at noon on Tuesday (on their website) and are open Sat/Sun from 8-12 (but encourage preordering to make sure you get what you want). They have a rotating menu so I'm excited to see what else they'll be offering in the coming months.

Yelp
Months in and we still love making it back out to try the entirely new seasonal menus! Flavor have gotten even more fun, complex and interesting since they opened and the Dr. Pepper donut is absolutely phenomenal!

Yelp
Five stars for level of anticipation. We tried to go at 10:30am on a Saturday, but didn't realize they only took pre-orders and were completely sold out. I would suggest to the business owner to put up some sort of signage that says "sold out/pre-order only" since I had to wait in line to find out. I'll definitely try to visit again and order ahead of time. It's walk-up only and there's no seating just FYI. There was ample parking when I visited since it's grab and go.

Yelp
Enjoyed the window service set up and the flower wall was really cute. The donuts were just okay - maybe they were having an off day? The donuts were certainly Instagram worthy and the aesthetic impressed guests but they were very heavy and the oil underneath soaked through the box. The peanut butter one was the best overall. I wanted to like this place more but after trying it I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

Yelp
Poor quality. Limited availability. Reviews indicate that it is "cute". One does not, however eat cute. This place will not last long.

Yelp
I had very high hopes. Personally I would not order again. The Mexican hot chocolate donut was extremely rich, and the glitter fritter was extremely tart. The Take a Hike was decent

Yelp
I had today. They're pretty good and a little pricey. However, being an avid donut lover, I love that you get some unique flavors that you won't typically find in many donut shops. I will return, especially when there are unique flavors that call to me.

Yelp
I put in an inquiry for an online order over a week ago and never heard back from anyone. But I feel like I was spared from potentially stale donuts based on all the reviews stating they prepare their donuts days in advance. They are only open 2 days a week for a few hours each of those days which is suspect in and of itself.

Yelp
The donuts were very good. We had a brioche (Better Than a Snicker) and filled brioche (oatmeal creme pie). The donut was soft on both, but denser than a typical donut. The filled donut had a lot of bites with no filling, so I think it wasn't filled all the way through. Kind of pricey but worth the try, especially if there is a flavor that catches your eye.

Yelp
Donuts and coffee, the perfect match. Lola's offers a variety of choices that cater to all palates. After looking over their menu, I decided to give the "Abuela's Chocolate Donut" a try along with an agua fresca and cold brew. The donut was a crispy chocolate churro with a soft and creamy filling. It did not disappoint. The service was great and the staff was very helpful in giving me recommendations. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Warning: THESE DONUTS ARE ***NOT*** FRESH!!!! Today was our second time trying this place because we wanted to give them a pass from a few weeks ago when we got some donuts that weren't fresh. Nope: Lola's is selling stale, dry donuts and they don't seem to care. First time we tried their day-old grub, we got the brown butter crueller, boston creme, strawberry cereal milk, and something else random as well as their strawberry and horchata agua frescas. The drinks were good. The donuts, not so much. While some people might be fooled by all the crazy toppings to distract from the fact that the donut itself sucks, we were not. There is nothing sadder than a donut that has been sitting out for a long time. And it's so obvious too! We decided to try again today. We're locals! We like to support local businesses! But fool us once, shame on you; fool us twice... Today's donuts: german chocolate, pistachio rose, raspberry pop-tart, and another crueller. G-R-O-S-S. How is it possible that a place that is open only open three times a week cannot manage to make a fresh donut? We think we figured out the scam: they probably make everything on Thursday or Friday and then just peddle the same wares the whole weekend. Shit out of luck if you go on Sunday to get their dregs! Further evidence: they had "run out of" agua frescas; as the woman explained to us, they sold the batch yesterday. Mmmmm, ok? So you didn't think ahead to get more ingredients and make a new batch considering that 33.3% of your business is on Sunday? Riiiighhhhhtttt. And there's no half-and-half or cream for the coffee here. Only milk. Hahahahhahhha! What's the draw? Must be the ridiculous flower Insta-friendly wall. Photograph your hearts out Millennials and Gen Zers! We Gen Xers will know never again to waste our money on this baked crap.

Yelp
Fancy smancy donuts! They change their menu monthly to there is always something new to try. They also do order ahead if you want to guarantee you get what your want. Beautiful exterior!

Yelp
I didn't realize how good these would be! The coffee toffee was my favorite. The brown butter cruller was a good second place as it was light and airy. The pistachio rose flavor was pretty good too.
