A good dive into morrocan food. The place was a bit empty but the food was good. Both the tajines and coucous plates were tasty with great presentation. The only hiccup was a problem with one dish that they didn't correct when asked about it; it reflected the rather average service we've had all evening.

To start things off, the food was absolutely delicious. I grew up eating Morrocan food as I'm half Morrocan. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow and it took awhile to get menus. I should note the resto was quiet with at most 6-7 other people. I was taken aback when we found out we had to pay for bottle water as they do not offer tap water. This is the first time in Montreal or anywhere in North America that we had to pay for water. Maybe this is because they don't sell alcohol but this is not acceptable.

Loved the meat tajines (chicken and veal). Perfectly cooked, well balanced flavors... brought me back to morocco and my moroccan grandmother's cooking. The food is well presented, the atmosphere is nice (just needs a moodier lighting) and how is this place not buzzing!!! The only one that made me taste morocco in my plate.

The food was so good. I personally recommend the royal couscous. The place is neat too and the waiter was very patient and nice to us

There are many excellent restaurants east of Pie IX on Ontario Street that are quite fine. If you have a taste for Moroccan or Algerian food, L'Olive Noire's flavors are something you must try. I've dined here on several occasions and each time the consistency of excellence has made me and my companions very happy.

Every dish is tasteful. The bread is really good, the harira, tagine and couscous. I would say that the quality is not always the same. I went there for 4 times, in Ramadan it was excellent, other times it depends. This is why I am giving 4 stars. They need to work more to make the quality more constant.

So good! Service was excellent, very attentive and understanding of us with two small kids. Prices look a bit high on paper but on the plate, you get a ton of value for your money! We both went for the table d'hote and went away with leftovers. Food was delicious, everything you want from Moroccan cuisine. Definitely would return!
