Wines by the glass or bottle, globally-inspired small plates

"Eternally unbooked and consistently fun, Lolo works for any night and any situation. The East Hollywood wine bar has a huge, checker-floored courtyard where you can eat a steak next to a table of self-described content creators without much of a wait. If the main dining space is looking a little full, a host might direct you to the air-conditioned bar area to wait for your table—but this room feels like a cozy VIP nook (where you can also order the full dinner menu), so it’s more of a blessing than a curse." - sylvio martins, brant cox, garrett snyder, cathy park
"Lolo in East Hollywood has one of the most underrated patios on the Eastside, thanks to its quiet setting and massive fig trees. The menu is keeping a tight focus to start, serving snacks and focaccia sandwiches at lunchtime, and at night, they’re doing housemade pastas - spaghetti with sungold tomatoes and eggplant, tagliatelle with mushrooms, and ricotta cavatelli with pepper ragu and pork meatballs. They’ve got an excellent wine selection, too, and are offering all bottles from their shop at retail price for dine-in (plus a $10 corkage)." - brett keating
"Lolo is a neighborhood hangout in East Hollywood with an extensive wine list, heavy pours, and a menu of things that go well with that wine. The outdoor dining room is small, but they’ve spaced the tables out so there’s more than enough room between your neighbors. As far as the food goes, anything involving pasta or bread is probably a safe bet, since both are made in-house (the cacio e pepe is particularly worth your time). The portions are big for the price, meaning if you’re on a date, it’s safe to just order a couple entrees, split an appetizer, and be out for under $80. Side note - they have great wine packages as well for at-home use." - brant cox
"Lolo is an ideal neighborhood wine bar that also happens to serve food you’ll want to eat every night of the week. This East Hollywood spot has a fantastic, low-key patio with lots of quiet corners, making it ideal for a date, and a menu with highly shareable pastas. Get the mussels tagliarini - slightly sweet from Pernod - or the culotte steak - tender, cooked exactly to temp, and served with creamed spinach we wish we could order on its own. Pair it with whatever wine the server suggests: Their list is long, and they have lots of obscure bottles, but they’ve always got great suggestions for whatever you’re eating." - brant cox, kat hong, brett keating
"Stock your friend’s wine cellar (or mini-fridge) with half a case, courtesy of Lolo’s Wine Bar in East Hollywood. Although their team is happy to mix-and-match based on your personal preferences, this will mostly be a dealer’s choice situation." - kat hong
