"Lone Star is open until 1 a.m. daily, both at its original Allston location and its Cambridge outpost. As the name suggests, the menu is mostly focused on tacos, although there are a few other options too, such as Frito pie, torta Milanesa, and cheesy, saucy piles of nachos." - Erika Adams
"Hit taco bar Lone Star pulls the best flavors from many regions of the taco world — Texas, Los Angeles, Mexico City, and Oaxaca. The tender pork in the carnitas taco comes topped with bright salsa verde and queso fresco. Other standout tacos include the gooey chorizo fundido, as well as a couple of variations on the fish taco." - Erika Adams
"At Lone Star Taco Bar in Allston, you can have it all: Margaritas and beef barbacoa tacos in the great outdoors, tucked away from the busy street in a breezy backyard patio. Yes, please." - Tanya Edwards
"Lone Star is Deep Ellum’s sister spot, though given that they’re right next to each other and you can literally walk from one to the other without going outside, it kind of seems more like it’s one bar with two different menus. As you probably guessed, the menu here is tacos, and they’re not only good, but a little bigger and meatier than you see at a lot of other places - two of them will cover you for dinner. If you need something else, make it the garlicky street corn, which might be the low-key best thing on the menu." - dan secatore
"Lone Star is Deep Ellum’s sister bar, right next door (or, actually, right through an internal glass door that connects both places). It’s a great spot for some meaty tacos and garlicky corn that you should probably consider ordering every time you come. If you’re staying on campus over the summer, making your way through their margarita menu would be a pretty good way to pass the time." - dan secatore
