"The birthplace of the Singapore Sling, a frothy, sweet pink drink topped with pineapple, considered the national drink of Singapore. The Long Bar offers a unique experience with its floor littered with peanut shells, a stark contrast to the otherwise spotless city." - Katie Henwood

"Long Bar in the Raffles Singapore hotel is iconic: It's the original home of the Singapore Sling and still makes the best version of the cocktail in Singapore. But it's so iconic that the crowd is made up almost exclusively of tourists, here to snap a pic of their Sling and gleefully throw peanut shells on the floor of probably the only place in the country it's legal to litter. The whole hotel, Long Bar included," - Naren Young

The Long Bar is worth the visit, the Singapore Sling however is not. Overrated drink, sure you can try it to say you did, but the price doesn’t justify the meager serving they provide filled with ice and not even a souvenir cup to take home. Buy a cheaper drink instead and munch on some peanuts while marveling at the aesthetics of the bar.

We came to visit Long Bar for their famous Singapore Sling. We had to wait to enter, the queue seemed ridiculously long, however it went down in no time. The staff are great, you have fast, attentive service and the drink tasted fantastic too. Would certainly recommend visiting and also don’t be put off by the queue!

The house of origin for Singapore Sling. The bar is a popular tourist destination and be ready to queue up, though it moves relatively fast. The interiors are antique-ish. A selection of drinks with the original Singapore sling being the most popular drink. We were two when we visited and while my friend ordered the original and i chose another variant. Both drinks were good with the original being sweeter. The table is served a bag of peanuts from which you are encouraged ti pick, peel, eat and discard the shells on the floor. Now you know what is crunching under your footwear as you to walk towards your table from the wait area :). Must try once for kicks sakes!!

We just had an amazing experience with our favorite bar tenders John and Raj at the Long Bar. The Singapore sling is a must for your visit to Singapore. We got to learn about its cute origins and its unique history through John. Thank you for the warm hospitality, we will definitely be back!

When in SG, you gotta have the Singapore Sling, and what better way to enjoy it than to have it at the place where it was originally created! I was told this is the place where this legendary drink originated from. I popped by one evening, and their drinks were delicious. There are sacks of groundnuts on each table and pool tables upstairs for guests to enjoy. The drinks were pricier compared with other cocktail bars in SG, but there is definitely a vibe going on here. It's just 5 pm when I got here and the place is already crowded.

The Long Bar is an iconic stop in Singapore and of course, the famous Singapore Sling which to be fair is deliciously refreshing. One of the quirky highlights of this place is the tradition of unlimited peanuts, with shells casually tossed on the floor, adding to the relaxed and nostalgic vibe. The bar offers a great variety of other cocktails too. Here, it's a perfect mix of history and ambiance, making it a memorable spot for drinks!

Home and origin of the famous Singapore sling. It is indeed a great drink with an interesting story (made to look like a juice). I recommend sitting at the bar for the benefits of talking to bartenders - John and Kalai are great. Other drinks are ok. As expected, 99% of visitors are tourists and you have to wait in line for seating.

If I’m in a country that has an iconic drink named after it, you better believe I’m going to take in the sights and drink the drinks too! On a recent visit to Singapore we made it a priority to pay a visit to the Long Bar at Raffles Hotel for the infamous (for both its background and it’s price tag!) Singapore Sling - and we weren't disappointed. The whole atmosphere was amazing. Such an iconic place to visit. The decor. The ambiance. The staff. Every aspect just contributed that little bit more to an unforgettable experience. From the folding fans on the ceiling offering cooling relief from the stifling heat outside, and a touch of history with a vibe from the past, to the peanut shells on the floor - what a wild and flamboyant act of defiance in a place so otherwise bound by rules and order! This place is a vibe, and an absolute must-do if you’re in Singapore. You can’t pre-book, so there was about a 10 min line to get seated - but absolutely worth the wait!
