"Located on the second floor of a San Gabriel strip mall, Long Xing Ji is everything you want from a soup dumpling operation. The dining room is big and spacious, packed with families eagerly talking amongst themselves and fighting over the last xiao long bao. There’s a glass-paned kitchen, where you can see the chefs making the food from scratch, and the namesake XLB are some of the best around. There are a few versions on the menu, but our favorites include the ones made with shrimp and the giant pork and crab buns. The shrimp is a welcomed surprise, meaty bits of prawn are sprinkled throughout each and every dumpling, and the giant pork and crab buns arrive the size of water balloons, to be eaten with the help of a boba straw." - kat hong

I love that they had fish dumplings (both soup and pan fried). The pan fried dumplings are a must. Skin is so crispy on the bottom. The steamed soup dumplings are so fragrant and contain a huge chunk of fish. Loved the taste of everything.

Mannnn this place was cool. Ngl like I'm from the south bay so it was like a 45 min drive out but I got the recommendation so I knew it would be worth it and it didn't disappoint. Definitely recommend checking this place out especially if you're already in the area. This place wasn't too crowded at like 12:30 on veterans day when I went idk what that says about how it'll be when you go but yeah. The waiters and staff were cool and I got no complaints about them but the only thing was it took a while for the waiter to come around and collect our bill but the place was busy I get it. Price wasn't toooo bad but it was just a little bit on the pricey side I felt for what you're getting. Overall though, no complaints, my man Kevin took care of us, shoutout to Kevin. Atmosphere was real nice they had like a whole library in the front lol it was located in a nice place lots of parking also had a daiso and a 99 ranch market in the same building. Definitely recommend this place, great soup dumplings 😝😝😋😋✌️.

The soup dumplings were average there . Had better ones elsewhere. The amount of soup inside wasn’t large . Sweet taste is quite usual for Wuxi region (probably the sweetest in entire China). Worth to try once. Not sure if I would go back soon.

I tasted very well cooked Wu Xi Style Rib in New York long ago, and I had never found something comparable in USA since that restaurant went out of business. So I was very excited to see the overwhelmingly good reviews of the rib in this restaurant and decided to give it a try. I asked for it immediately after I was seated, and it was served in few (2 or 3) minutes. I was really surprised as this dish usually takes long time to prepare. The waiter told me it was cooked in advance and they just reheated it. So that's what I got: the pork was so hard and difficult to chew. Absolutely not it should be. ------------------- The waiters and waitresses were very friendly. But we noticed one waiter wiping the floor with his bare hands just beside us. When we asked for some food, he served it without washing hands. That was disgusting! So, this was totally a horrible experience, and I will never try to challenge my luck again.

Stopped by about an hour before closing and seated immediately. The staff was nice. Ordered the chicken and sweet pork soup dumplings. Really like mixing the vinegar, soy sauce and chili crisp altogether. There was only a little bit of soup in the dumplings, but it was flavorful. We like these dumplings and will come back. We thought they tasted better than DTF.

It's been a while since I've been here. I've always gone when there were very few people. On a Friday night though, they were so busy with other people. Me and my friends were off in the corner, and barely got any attention when we needed things. That was kinda' annoying. Yes, they were busy with clearing out tables to fit more in, and handling all sorts of orders, but they totally just left us there. Honestly, that's fine, but if you tell me I need to give you a 15-minute heads up on the dessert 釀酒園子, when I wave my hand and yell for some help, why can't I get some attention? Maybe I wasn't loud & obnoxious to get my way? Sorry, then. And the bill took a while too. Honestly, on a Friday night where everything else in the center was nearly dead, this place was packing and proves its popularity. For me though, I'd rather call-in and order out. I just don't like being ignored. Other than service delays, food was honestly OK. Someone said the ribs were too hard, but honestly, they were soft enough for me, that they fell off the bone. The rice was actually cooked using pork lard, which you don't find in many restaurants, but that's actually how it's supposed to be done, and the dessert actually was tasty. ALTHOUGH, some people may think it has a sewage type smell and flavor to it, but it's actually the wine. REALLY the fermented sweet rice, mixed in with those ingredients will give it a weird flavor, but don't think the wrong way!

This is basically a Din Tai Fung at a lower price. They have everything and more of what DTF has. I first saw this restaurant on Mike Chan’s YouTube channel where he raves about the huge XLB at this place. He said that you have to come to try this out. So my wife and I visited this place today ( 5/19/2022). Mike Chan was right, the xiao long Bao at this restaurant is just as good as DTF. The way I can tell is that the skin on the XLB tasted exactly the same as DTF’s. They also have potstickers and scallion pancakes. But the famous item is their huge Xiao Long Bao. It’s about 9 inches big filled with crab meats and crab eggs. It’s then steamed in a bamboo steamer to create juicy fillings. You suppose to drink the soup inside the giant XLB first with a boba straw. Then you can eat the skins with the crab meat. So delicious. This is a must order when visit this restaurant. When I said everything are just as good as DTF, the only exception is the sweet and sour ribs. The texture is about the same but the sauce is not the same at level of taste. It’s not as flavorful. I believe the cooking process has not attained that culinary level yet. The vinegar level was missing on the ribs. However, the onion pancakes were excellent with the thin and crispy skins. The regular XLB was fantastic too. I can’t tell the difference between these XLB and DTF’s. The prices here are very reasonable. For instance, their XLB costs about 30% less than DTF, although the decoration of this place needs renovations. They used to have bad services here but now it seemed to be very good, fast and attentive.

Excellent dumplings. The Shanghai xiaolongbao is a pork and crab type, so the taste is a little different. I did like it. What stands out is the delicate dumpling skin. So far, this is the best dumpling skin I've had in the country. It's so delicate I tore a few picking them up- outstanding. The huge dumpling is more of a novelty. It's hard to eat without dumping the soup- but you'll have to try it once anyways. The spicy fish in the red soupy sauce was great too, proper spicy. The beef wrap 'thing' and the tofu dish with edamame beans was also good. I don't know the names of all the dishes, but they have pictures which is great. My grandmother grew up in Shanghai and did all the ordering when she was still around, I'm glad I can still find some of these dishes in town.

Yelp
We came back to get our favorite salted green beans and pork belly fried rice. It did not disappoint. Same great taste and flavors, and that is why we compare everywhere with here for items we get. One sour note. We always tip, but when the waiter asks if you are paying with cash, you start wondering why. It is because they were note getting their tips if the person was paying by card. So I paid by card, but left the tip in cash on the table. They are moving due to the building being renovated, but take care of the employees please.

Yelp
4.5 super solid meal!! Came here for lunch over the weekend and ordered a beef noodle soup and crab/pork XLB. Both dishes exceeded expectations. The beef noodle soup had really good flavor but was spicier than I'm used to. It had a mala kick to it. The only thing I didn't like was the noodles. I think the dish would've been better if the noodles were thicker or if they had a hand cut option. The crab and pork xlb was great, good flavor and thin dumpling skin!

Nancy T.

Yelp
When it comes to xiao long bao, this is the place I want to come to fulfill my cravings. Their sweet pork xiao long bao is very savory and it's my favorite. I could finish all 10 pieces myself :) I also like their pot stickers, beef noodles, etc... food here is great! Service can be more attentive. We had to flag the server down for ice water and extra napkins. Tips: their bathroom stinks like if you're in a Seward. Avoid if all possible. I would come back for the food and I have recommended this place to friends and strangers on other social media sites when looking for a good xiao long bao place that is not overrated like DTF.

Yelp
Took the family here over Xmas break for a week day lunch. All the family members thoroughly enjoyed the food here. Prices are reasonable and the flavors are rich without much saltiness. We ordered the xiao long bao, seaweed appetizer, tofu skin/edamame plate, potstickers, onion pancake, and the beef noodle soup. Portions are generous. Please peruse my pics for more details.

Yelp
Famous for their hand sized soup dumplings, "Juicy Dumplings" is a small restaurant located in San Gabriel Square, next to a tofu house and many empty storefronts. It came on my radar because of their soup dumpling, so when we needed to be in the area for a Saturday night, our group of four agreed to meet there. We were seated right away and given a laminated card with a marker, and two picture menus without prices. It's a cool way to provide pictures for menu items, without having to constantly update the expensive picture menu because of price changes. We got 4 hot waters (provided in large plastic glasses which was appreciated), and a coke ($2.20, only from a can since they don't have a soda machine, obviously no refills). We ordered the following and they came as they were prepared. Juicy Pork/Crab bun for $9.49 each (2) - this is what they are famous for and it came last. You really have to eat it two stages: first sucking out the juices with a straw, then tearing the skin apart. It is unique, but the ratio of skin to soup seems wrong to me. wouldn't get it again. Juicy Pork/Crab dumpling $16.99 - comes with 9 pieces and is expensive. But the dumplings were very good, well crafted and the soup inside was delicious. Green Beans $14.99 - wok fired green beans. Plenty given and was good. Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce $15.99 - garlic sauce at a chinese restaurant can mean a lot of different things. This version uses a lot more chilly oil and vinegar than garlic, and was very red hot in looks and flavor. It used finely diced pork loin pieces. House Chow Mein ($12.99) - another case where you can't be sure what Chow Mein is. In this case, it was spaghetti noodles which I don't want to eat at a chinese restaurant. But my co-diners liked it a lot, especially for the flavor, quantity, and price. Steam rice is $1.50 per bowl. It was enough food for the 4 of us with leftovers. There is an open kitchen where you can see the expert dumpling makers apply their craft. The XLB is very well crafted, consistent thin skin even at the top. But next time, I would skip the expensive soup dumplings (maybe it is cheaper if no crab?) and stick with the classics. There was a small annoyance with one of our waiters, who repeatedly asked me in broken english that he wanted his tip in cash (once I produced a credit card to pay). I can think of a couple of reasons why he would want this, none of them deserving more elaboration (better not to know I think). So final thought is that it is a good restaurant, but with multitude of great chinese restaurants in the SGV area for better prices, it wouldn't be a place to go out of the way for (like what we did here)

Yelp
So excited to finally get to eat giant XLBs locally in the 626! The chef here hails from Shanghai and you can definitely taste the authenticity he endorses despite the slight Wuxi fusion influence. This jumbo sized crab and pork bun is simply delectable! Unlike Array 36, this place uses real crab meat in the fillings & it's obvious. I'm already planning another visit to have this even though my friends and I each got our own, I need moreee! The beef rolls are pretty tasty, the regular XLBs are great, the garlic cucumbers are excellent. However, didn't really personally like the pork wonton soup. The color and the thickness just wasn't as magical. The place is pretty big, but this plaza has been kind of emptier than usual as of late & they can use some extra business. I think the service could've been better since we were rushed from the get go. I think the owner was much more pleasant and willing to chat about the her background and history of the restaurant.

Robinson L.

Yelp
This place used to be my favorite xiao long bao dim sum spot. I even gave it a 5 star a year ago due to its authenticity and great taste. Returning visit after 1 year, it almost felt like a different restaurant. I even took my old mother with me this time cuz she wanted to taste authentic Chinese food after being away from home for so many years. The meat in the xiao long bao wasn't fresh, it was heavily salty. The service was abysmal. When we got in the shop, the server explicitly asked for us to pay in cash. I was like no problem as long as the food is good, don't embarrass me in front of my mum. When the food finally was ready, we realized that the table and the plates weren't properly cleaned so we asked for another wipe and set. Even with such horrible food and service, my mother still insisted tipping the mean waiter. Ironically, the waiter came back and asked for more tip. That's such a shameless act!!! You see my old mother reaching into her wallet counting more money just because she felt obligated to tip more because the waiter asked. I took her out of there immediately. And you could even hear the waiter complain after we reached the door. I also told them that it's illegal to ask for tip like that especially after the July 1 no hidden fee legislation. They also can't charge a mandatory % of tips anymore (even though I know my mum always tip over 15%). It's a disaster. Do not recommend whatsoever. With horrible service and food, the ambiance also turned quite boisterous.

Yelp
The restaurant is upstairs in the 99 ranch plaza. Plenty of parking especially since they are renovating the whole plaza right now. It is spacious inside with the usual service you get at Chinese restaurants. The giant soupy crab dumpling was delicious. The skin is thin and you get a straw to sip the soup out of the dumpling. The spicy beef noodle sure has a kick in the mala way. My mouth was on fire and it was so spicy my lips were tingling. The spicy wontons was so good. Again a bit of the mala spice but what I liked most about it is that the dumpling itself was seasoned perfectly and went great with the spicy soup. The noodle and the pork which that region is known for were also both fantastic. Overall the meal was great all around. The flavors of every dish I ordered was spot on and I'd definitely go back again. One star down because they didn't serve tea which was odd.

Courtney Christine C.

Yelp
Service was great! You could taste the fresh quality in every bite. The giant juicy crab dumpling was really fun and a must try.

Yuri Y.

Yelp
This place has really good food! Known for their giant crab soup dumpling, it's as big as my face, tastes AMAZING & my favorite part was drinking the soup out the dumpling w/ a straw they give you when your dumpling comes out. Their service is pretty fast & they leave you alone to enjoy your meal for the most part, which I love because I don't like responding w/ my mouth full

Melina C.

Yelp
My sister wanted the egg, so we stopped by hehe. Tried this place multiple times before and still good. Ordered: juicy pork xiao long bao- hot and juicy and delicious! juicy pork and shrimp xiao long bao- hot and juicy and delicious! House Spareribs noodle soup- always craving noodle soup any time of day and weather hehe. mmm mmm good! Noodle in sesame sauce (dry noodles with peanuts)- a bit heavy on the peanut and sesame sauce but still really good. silver fish in steamed egg- very hot, little fishes at the very bottom. The egg is so soft and smooth. (Not sure which juicy xiao long baos I took a picture of. The other one was blurry so not posting haha)

Yolie S.

Yelp
The stir fry string bean is like crack! It's double the portion of din tai fung and I couldn't stop eating it. The pork/crab xiao long bao was also delicious! The wrapper is thin and the soup is packed with flavor The sesame noodle was ok. The noodle was kind of soft and the sauce wasn't very flavorful Cash only. Located on the second floor of a busy plaza. Parking is plenty.

Yelp
Another Dumpling house on my list. Long Xing Li is a favorite for many, so i had to give them a visit. I got a table right next to the big kitchen window, so I could see all the delicious dumplings being made. What a great spot to sit. My three go-to's are XLB (Soup Dumplings), Spicy Wontons and Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. Getting started with the soup dumplings, once you order, they are quick to bring out plenty of ginger so you can mix your sauce. These are some of the best I've had. They are full of tasty soup, the skin was light and the filling is flavorful. The Spicy Wantons are excellent - plentiful and large. I usually finish off an order of Wontons but there were too many here (Take home!) The Hot & Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (#25) is actually very spicy. It's the first time in recent memory, where I did not need to add chili oil. In addition to the heat, the soup is loaded with delicious noodles and beef. Not the most tender in the world but definitely good and flavorful. The service here is very friendly and kind. I will definitely be coming back again.

Vicky W.

Yelp
This is the largest steamed soup dumpling I've ever seen. It has park and real crab meat stuffed inside. They even give me a straw for the soup dumpling. Very flavorful and juicy. Definitely a good comforting food when it's a cloudy weather like today!! Quick customer service, very friendly. Specious and clean dining area. Food is delivered in a timely manner. Thank you Long Xing Ji for serving yummy food!!

Yelp
This is THE place for fist sized XLB! We got the: 1) Pan Fried Pot Stickers (10 pieces) -Decent amount of pork filling. Not too salty, moist. -Slight crispy edges. Only a bit disappointed since I wanted those pan fried pork stickers with the extra crispy pan skin attached. 2) Xiao Long Bao: -We got their non-sweet pork filling. (9 pieces) -They weren't lying when they said this was non-sweet, as the pan fried pot stickers were sweeter with their meat filling. -Decent amount of soup inside, not too hot. 3) Juicy Pork & Crab Bun: -The only reason I ordered from here was to get this jumbo juicy pork and crab bun as I have only seen those giant dumplings "buns" before on social media and wanted to try. -It's definitely juicy and the shape of the dumpling is that of the container it's in. -Comes with a generous amount of golden crab soup and some pork meat inside (same as the other stuff that we ordered). If you're not a fan of seafood, this might not be for you since the crab flavor is pretty strong. -Very thin skin, it's not bad but it's obviously for novelty sake more than anything. Overall not bad. There's definitely better dumpling places out there, but not lots of them let you order a dumpling larger than your fist!

Jacqueline K.

Yelp
What can I say, the soup dumplings are the bomb. Price are way more affordable than Ding Tai Fung. Weekends and rush hour NO lines needed. First time for my kids to try it, they both Love it! You get to see how the dumplings make it fresh from the window and steam it for you. What can go wrong. Must go to place.

Vanessa D.

Yelp
I'm giving 5 stars, this juice pork and crab ENORMOUS dumpling was amazing. It was so flavorful. Just yes. Their green beans were just as delightful. I don't know how I missed the big dunking when I came the first time.

Yelp
*** CASH ONLY *** This restaurant used to be called Wang Xing Ji and came here back in September 2013, but they changed the name to Long Xing Ji in Jan 2016 with everything else (decor and menu) remained the same. I was originally planning to visit somewhere else for Sunday night dinner, but my friend tricked me and made me pick a restaurant with 5 PM closing time. So I ended up coming here since my friend was dying to have juicy pork dumplings (XLB). The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of the 99 Ranch Plaza (aka the Focus Plaza that will soon be rebranded as TAWA Gateway - https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2022-12-04/businesses-inside-chinese-disneyland-mall-in-san-gabriel-valley-face-uncertain-future) in San Gabriel. [Parking]: Fairly straightforward and easy parking thanks to the huge parking lot. [Setting]: The restaurant was half empty when our party arrived at 5:45 PM and we were able to get a table immediately. Similar to Ding Tai Fung, there's a transparent window showing employees folding XLB. [Menu]: They got a laminated ordering sheet with marker and a separate laminated menu with pictures on popular items (pictures were very helpful). The restaurant is best known for giant/jumbo juicy pork & crab bun (or giant soup dumpling - #12). Most of items here mirror other Northern Chinese restaurants with dumplings, noodles, and various wok dishes. *** #40 Beef Roll ($10.99): It was not as good as the one from Mr Dragon Noodle House in Rosemead. #35 Pan Fried Fish Wonton (10 pieces - $13.99): Wontons were nicely fried and they tasted better than I thought. *** A solid 3.5-star on food, but bump down due to average service.

Tiffany L.

Yelp
This place is known for their dumplings (the sign on their store has "Juicy Dumplings" in big letters) and their crab and pork soup dumplings were a stand out. The flavors were very pronounced without being too overwhelming. I give them a 4 out of 5 because I think they could have been a little soupier and hotter in temperature. Definitely eat these quickly before they reach room temperature. For a restaurant that specializes in dumplings, I was a bit surprised they didn't have a lot of different dumpling options compared to other places like Mama Lu's or Prince Dumpling. For example, they don't have sheng jian bao (Shanghai pan fried pork buns), but to their credit, they don't market themselves as a Shanghai-style restaurant but rather as Northern Chinese. Speaking of which, we also had the hot and spicy beef noodle soup and it was packed with peppercorns to give that mala effect, which is very Szechuan style, so I was a bit confused by this choice. I was definitely not expecting it to be mala because the menu wasn't very descriptive about the spiciness would be the numbing kind. I'm fine with mala dishes, but I can understand why those not familiar with the taste of Szechuan cuisine might be shocked by this. Side note: they say that this is noodle soup yet the "soup" was too oily in consistency to really be consumed as soup. I also had the house special spare ribs, and while I liked the sweet yet smoky flavor from the way they marinated the pork, I thought the meat was a bit dry. The pan fried pork wontons were very flavorful and had a nice texture from the wrapper as well.

Malia P.

Yelp
I don't know why this place isn't busier. Low key delicious xlbs. We weren't very hungry but we wound up eating two rounds of xlbs and their house spare ribs. Everything is so delicious. The skin was thin and delicate. To eat carefully transport the dumpling from the steamer to the soup spoon using chopsticks. Carefully take a bite off the top to let the steam out. Pour a little bit of vinegar and take a little ginger on top. Wait a little bit then eat it! All the flavorful soup will be captured by the spoon this way. Enjoy!

Anthony F.

Yelp
Everything tastes amazing. From the dumplings to the spare ribs everything tasted exactly how I expected to taste. We first saw this place on Instagram and was hooked on the different dishes they have to offer. After trying this place I will definitely coming back. The soup dumplings are experience that I didn't think I was going to like but was worth the try. Spare ribs are flavored and cocked perfectly it could be a full course. As for the rice cakes and pork dumpling exceeded all expectations If you wanting some bomb dumplings for a good price please check them out. My only criticism is trying to find the place was a little hard but that might be due to the construction on the build next it.

Matt C.

Yelp
Wow holy crap do not come here. So disappointed as we had good experiences previously. Wtf happened? First off it was dead on a Friday night during dinner time so you know something's wrong. We ordered 3 dishes and they managed to mess up on all 3. The Xiao long bao was whack af. The meat inside was like hard and there was no soup at all. The Wuxi sparerib was overly salty and slim on the meat. Like they used to use a diff cut of the rib. The spicy wontons were also terrible. It had a rotten odor to it and I'm not talkin bout fermented bean curd here. Did I mention it was like $70?! The hell is going on. The service was snappy so I give them 2 stars for that. But seriously ridiculous here. SGV ain't what it used to be.

Harice Q.

Yelp
We went to eat at Long Xing Ji in San Gabriel. The restaurant is in a plaza that's still under construction, making it a bit tricky to find, especially since the name is in Chinese and somewhat obscured by the building structure. The place is quiet with a few people but not empty. We ordered the famous jumbo xiao long bao, which was perfect for our tastebuds, and the house spareribs, which arrived quickly within 5 minutes. The xiao long bao took a bit longer. The staff is nice, and the place is beautiful. P.S. To make it easier to find, it's beside Tofu House on the 2nd floor, right above Golden Vision on the 1st floor.

Seb F.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING Wow Say wha?! I'm in awe My new favorite dumpling spot... but it's much more than that... A lot of people were ordering the pork ribs.. so we'll be back for them... HS!!!! This place is good!!! Nah... good ain't the right word... AMAZING NEXT LEVEL NUFF SAID

Yelp
My mom was invited out for mama's day lunch prior to Mother's Day so I escorted her to the occasion. I had seen this on IG on a couple of peoples post and my friend also saw this and came to try this restaurant the previous day before she invited friends to join her in celebrating mama's day. I ordered the big chicken dumpling along with my mom so we can slurp up the dumpling juices. The best way to get all the goodness from within the juicy dumpling is the go in at an angle with the straw so you don't pierce the bottom of the dumpling. At 20 degrees punch through the top portion of the dumpling and suck away, but be careful because you may burn your tongue. I waited 5 minutes before attacking it and it was still hot. The XLB dumplings were good too as for the beef curry fried rice it was just okay. We also got a vegetable dish but I forgot to take a pic before it was devoured. The place was well lit and was slow for a noonish lunch hour on the Saturday. Plenty of parking and also underground parking too. Many stores in this plaza have ceased to exist but come and give this place a try

Yelp
Back again for some delicious food on CNY. Since there is only two of us, we ordered 3 dishes which was more than enough. The Veggie rice with salted pork is super good, a must try. The fried kidney never disappoints and the Shao long pao is juicy and and savory. I can eat this every week. There are many other dishes to try.

Yelp
The food here was just so so I think with so many different choices in the San Gabriel Valley. There's a lot better places to go but nothing wrong with the food. It just wasn't very memorable. The service was decent, but nothing special

Yelp
Won't be back. It's a small hole in the wall restaurant. We came here after arriving to the Plaza and discovering the Tofu House was gone! Most of the plaza is under construction and the stores are all gone. At this point we were starving so we wandered into the only open restaurant. Regrets. The XLB, wonton soup and pan fried wontons took forever to arrive. You'd think everything tastes amazing if you're hungry, but you'd be wrong. Blergh. I don't understand why the pork wontons soup and pan fried tasted fishy. But they did, so gross.

Yelp
After a lot of stores moved out from the once glamorous Great Mall of China, we were glad this place is open. My relatives got carried away ordering vege, tofu, turnip dishes and of course Xiao Lund Bao, wonton, fried pot stickers, and later red bean paste pastry. My niece loved the giant Xiao Lund Bao, I loved the pot stickers that have a light wrap, my sister loved the fishy wonton. Food tasted great, not too sweet and less sugary than Shanghainese food. But the dishes can be sweet as they are 無錫, not too far from Shanghainese. This place is great for pick out of appetizers but they do have some main dishes on the menu. Never mind, my relatives ate so many small dishes they racked up the bill anyway, even when the server forgot one dessert.

Yelp
Oh boy! My friend and I got food poisoning for a week after eating here. This is the only thing we eat together. We have the same symptoms... I love the taste and come often before Covid, so I introduced my friend to it since I haven't been back since before Covid. I guess things have changed. Check out the health score. Disappointed to say the least.

Yelp
Came for a lunch with my family. Flavors are authentic, but the quality and presentation of the food is a bit lacking. Fish and bok choy looked and tasted like something my dad could easily cook at home for much cheaper, and the shrimp was a tad overcooked. They do have the big XLB, which is super fun to eat--you get straws to drink the soup with, and then you can cut up the bun afterwards! Overall okay, you won't be wowed but not terrible.

Raffie S.

Yelp
Who wants to try giant sized soup dumpling XLB? We do and the straw is used to stick the soup out of it right in a busy strip mall. The service is prompt and the ambience is casual. We enjoy their sesame seed red bean cake as well.

Yelp
Like many patrons, I came for the Shanghai Restaurant next door that recently closed and settled for this dumpling house. XLB were surprisingly good! The A-Choy was over boiled and very oily. The greens mixed was tasteless and very oily also. The beef wrap was okay but lacked flavor. They did not have hot tea so they gave me cup of hot water. There was a reason why this place was never busy when I walked by all These years.

Yelp
I think the viral video of Long Xing Ji's ginormous XLB was what put this restaurant on my radar. The video got to be pretty popular - even my parents were aware of this restaurant! We visited on a Sunday afternoon and there was a wait. With the restaurant located in San Gabriel's 99 Ranch, that's to be expected. Also expect difficult parking unless you're willing to park further away. Restaurant is located on the second floor - they ask that you wait outside, so I did see a bunch of people standing around while they waited for tables. Ordering is done on a piece of paper. You indicate the quantity next to the item that you want. Prices are fairly decent. Recommended items: -juicy pork and crab dumplings: 9 count for $14.49; a little pricey but you can definitely taste the crab in the dumplings. These were made fresh - skin was light but chewy, the meat was flavorful and sweet. And the juice that seeped out of each dumpling ... perfection! -beef rolls: these were actually pretty good! $10.49 but you only get 4 pieces; however, the rolls are more thick than other places. I liked the overall taste and the ratio of sauce to cilantro/meat. The outside pancake was crispy. Tasted really nice when eaten fresh. The other dishes that we ordered were just okay: -hot and sour soup: $9.99 tasted a little too starchy and wasn't as spicy or as acidic as I would have liked. Probably would not order this again. -house spareribs noodles: $12.49; we opted for noodles over vermicelli. This came in a bowl that kind of resembled ramen broth (think tonkatsu colored soup). There was half an egg and several strands of vegetables. The ribs came on the side and were a very artificial pink color. Surprisingly the ribs were tasty and a bit on the sweeter side. Don't know if I'd reorder this again though. -pan fried potstickers: $12.49 for 10 pieces. Eh, nothing really great about the potstickers. Would not reorder. -juicy pork and crab bun: $9.49 for the jumbo sized XLB. This came at the end of our meal - not sure if they forgot, but we pretty much finished eating everything and this item still hadn't exited the kitchen. We had to remind multiple staff members and they finally brought it out maybe 15 minutes later. We were all super full, so I definitely didn't enjoy it as much as I probably would have if I had an empty stomach. Dumpling was pretty huge; takes a lot of skill to cook this XLB and have it be perfectly well made and retain the amount of soup inside. They gave us boba straws to sip out the soup, but it's super hot so be careful not to burn your mouth! This tastes just like the regular XLB. For a novelty first time try, not bad, but next time, I'll just stick to the smaller 9-count sized XLB. tl;dr - It was interesting to see many of the customers walk in and bring drinks from outside restaurants. They don't have a policy on no outside drinks, which is nice. Service was pretty fast. Love the open kitchen concept; you can watch the chefs make the XLB/dumpling skin. I do like their signature XLB, but I think that's one of the only items I'd reorder the next time I visit.

Yelp
This place has changed. Used to be better. Probably new management. No one really greeted us when we came in. Very cold look from everyone working there. The fish i order is so much smaller than the menu photo. One little bowl of rice is $1.50 while most other places are free. The guy raised his voice and basically yelled at us when we were deciding how much rice we want. He yelled: "I said do you want rice or not!". We only paused for a couple of seconds and he did that. Also, before we order he told us we must pay cash which to me is very shady and suspicious. Right after eating, my stomach feels weird. Had to run home right away. Usually I hate bother leaving bad reviews, but we basically got scammed here. Do not come here, they should close down already.

Yelp
Came for their jumbo sized juicy crab and pork dumpling and it was a pretty unique experience. The dumpling was as big as a dim sum container and the skin was thick with lots of crab and pork filling inside. They gave us a boba straw which we used to suck the soup out. We basically had to disassemble the giant dumpling but it was pretty tasty. I still prefer the regular XLBs over this giant one but it was fun to try. We also tried their fried eel, pan fried fish wontons, house ribs, and the regular crab and pork XLB. The house ribs were very flavorful and the fried eel was really good and as crispy as a chip. Their dumplings are pretty juicy and taste decent. I would recommend this spot if you want dumplings and other unique Chinese dishes. Their jumbo crab and pork dumpling is a one and done experience but it was very cool and fun to try.

Yelp
It is your average place. It has pleasant service. The dumplings are delicious .The potstickers are average. The downside to this place is they don't serve hot tea. Weird.

Yelp
4+ located on the second floor of a strip mall/plaza on a busy street where I think there is a treasure trove of Asian food in the San Gabriel area. This place is known for their giant pork and crab soup dumplings. At least that's how it got on my radar and why I bookmarked it. I came here on a weeknight early dinner time so the place was not busy at all. I sat down and was able to order it right away, using a small right on menu, similar to what dim sum places have. The place overall feels really legit. I ordered the: beef roll, the large pork/ crab soup dumpling, and pork belly fried rice. Both the beef raw, and the fried rice were delicious. The beef roll had a nice crisp to it, and a good flavor from the cilantro and onion. The texture was on point. The fried rice was pretty standard, which was a great thing. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, so I ended up taking most of this food home for leftovers. I just wanted to try them. And I wanted to make sure I had enough room to eat the large dumpling... Now I wasn't sure on what the proper way to eat this large dumpling was, but this is how I did it: 1- with the provided straw, I poked into the dumpling using the sharp end and drank the soup. I did it slowly because it is hot. Also, I would take out the straw and insert in different areas to drink the soup as it was too tough to get all in on one place. 2- as a soup ran low I would start chopping up the dumpling into smaller bite-size pieces. I would then take those pieces and put them into the soup spoon. 3- for each bite size piece I put into the soup spoon, I put a few dashes of the vinegar on top to my liking. Rinse and repeat. I was a big fan of that soup dumpling, and would love to come back. The service was pretty standard and it was straight to the point which I appreciated. They were quick on getting the check and my to go boxes. Once I packed up, I was on my way. It was fun getting to see through the window while the folks were prepping the dumplings.

Yelp
Definitely one in the books!! The food here was AMAZING!! If you want some authentic dim sum then this would be a place to go. The dim sum was delicious, as well as the spare ribs. The ribs literally was tender, flavorful and it came off the bone easily. The cucumber garlic was had a good balance of white vinegar and garlic. The fried rice was different but was on point with the pork belly. The ambiance was very traditional in what you would seen in a Chinese restaurant. It was small but simple. The service wasn't too bad. You just had to call your waiter if you need to place the order or need the check.

Yelp
I would say this small restaurant is a big competitor of Din Tai Fung. Their Juicy dumplings are more juicier and succulent. These were featured by Mark Wiens, an American travel and food blogger, vlogger, YouTube personality, television host, and restaurateur based in Bangkok, Thailand. And Mike Chen Chen Xing, better known as Mike "Mikey" Xing Chen, is a Chinese-born American YouTuber. They are not wrong about this restaurant.

Yelp
I've been here a number times now and all I have to say is I'm sooo happy to have the variety of soup dumplings this place offers compared to the normal ones at some other "famous" place has that's all over the place. To me it's not about the name of notoriety but the quality and diversity of food the establishment offers. This place doesn't have a totally extensive menu but what they offer is seriously better than other places. The service is quick and attentive when you enter, they direct you to numerous tables, give you a dry erase menu to check off items you may like. I had the spicy beef noodles soup, chicken and corn soup dumplings, fish dumplings and I was stuuuuufffed but sooo worth the pain. The spicy beef noodle soup has plenty of depth, if you are into mouth numbing mala (Szechuan peppercorn) this is the noodle soup you are looking for. I asked for extra pile of ginger for my soup dumpling and they brought out a generous dish of it know what I was going to do with it all. lol

Yelp
Juicy dumps (as my friends and I affectionately refer to this place by) is one of my favorite spots in the area. Their pork soup dumplings and wonderful, and we usually eat a few orders of them. That, and their green beans--I haven't found another Chinese place with green beans that taste this good. Can comment much on the other dishes, as we usually just load up on these two

Yelp
I recently stumbled upon Long Xing Ji Juicy Dumpling, and boy, was I pleasantly surprised! Located in the same plaza as my favorite 99 Ranch grocery, Wushiland for boba, and Daiso, this place quickly became a new favorite haunt of mine. If you're a dumpling lover like me, you need to check this place out! I ordered the soup dumplings with pork and crab, and they were absolutely fantastic. Being a crab flavor enthusiast, I must say that Long Xing Ji nails it with their Xiao Long Bao. The soft, delicate skin wrapped around the juicy filling was a delight to bite into. It had just the right amount of tenderness and juiciness that left me wanting more. The only thing that could elevate it further would be a slightly stronger crab flavor in the juice, but overall, I was satisfied. Now, let's talk about portion sizes. I initially went for the large-sized XLB, but I'd recommend sticking to the small individual ones unless you're a fan of drinking the soup. Surprisingly, even the large dumplings retained the same soft skin and super juicy interior, which was impressive. So, whether you opt for small or large, you're in for a treat. I also decided to try the green beans and bean curd, but unfortunately, they were a bit too spicy and salty for my taste buds. If you're like me and prefer milder flavors, I'd suggest sticking to their XLB. That being said, I'm already excited to go back and try their other dumpling varieties. I have a feeling they'll be just as delicious.

Yelp
Randomly stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try. They're known for their giant soup dumplings. I found out that it's crap and pork dumpling, and I wasn't able to try that today. We tried the sweet xiao long bao, sweet beef roll, and sesame noodles (looks like Dan Dan noodles but it's not). We really liked the food, the taste is more unique than other places we have tried When we walked in, it felt like I have transported back in time to the golden age and modern feel of a Chinese restaurant. The feel and look is definitely nostalgic and traditional. We see all the bustling and hustling. It was busy on a Sunday for a late lunch. Would love to come back and try other food items on the menu. Oh, also it's cash only place.

Yelp
Typical hole-in-the-wall Chinese resto serving up authentic and delicious eats! Our party of 8 was too busy stuffing our faces and passing dishes around the table to mind the lack of ambience or curt service. Overall the food was exactly as expected - great! My personal faves were the Braised Eggplant with Garlic Sauce as well as the Salt & Pepper Shrimp. The skin is a bit too thick on the regular size Xiao Long Bao, especially the red bean paste dessert ones which made them rather dry, but perfectly fine on the giant size XLB which apparently is this place's claim to fame. Accept the Juicy Pork & Crab Bun for what it is - a tasty but super messy (like all soup dumplings, it falls apart as soon as you dig into it, but unlike normal ones, you can't just pop the whole thing in your mouth because of its ridiculous size) novelty item - and you won't be disappointed. No reservations, so prepare for a long wait if you have a large group, but the silver lining is that you're in the middle of a shopping center so just get your errands done while you're waiting for your name to be called!

Yelp
So far, I have eaten here numerous times, my family and I always like their food. Noodles, dumplings, fry dishes. So far the taste and quality is excellent. The service was always good and prompt. The staff was well mannered. The spicy fish soup with peppercorns is excellence.

Yelp
The facade of this little gem is barely seen from the parking lot, hidden behind a pillar...all I saw were the words juicy dumplings in English. I dragged my mom who originally wanted to eat at the big signature restaurant in this same mega mall. So glad she's so adventurous. Service 5/5...friendly efficient can't answer questions in English, Mandarin only...oh ok, so a true culinary adventure. Just point at the menu and pray. The XLB is made to order and you can watch them make them though a big window looking into the kitchen. That's so cool. And each morsel is a work of art...just beautfully and speedily made. Wow. The pork dumplings are pan seared on one side...with a surprise of black sesame seeds on the underside, so good. Just look at the pics and your mouth will say let's go to the place that makes such subtle and beautiful fried dumplings. Moms vegetarian won ton soup...she loved ut...huge and generously filled pillows of spinach...and al kinda creamy looking pork broth. Delish...mom studied the menu, bec well be back to try other things. Great accidental find. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The soup dumplings here are way better than Ding Tai Fung and this is my goto for soup dumplings in SGV! I recommend the plain pork dumplings since I'm not a fan of sweet or crab dumplings. Definitely get a basket while you're here! The giant large soup dumpling (大笼包) is really cool to get for the experience. However it takes the restaurant a long while to make this dish and I don't think it's better than the normal 小笼包. It's definitely a cool experience to be able to get such a large soup dumpling and to be able to drink out of it, but I wouldn't get it more than once in my lifetime. Service can also be pretty slow here as they usually only have two servers busing all the tables. But I really think the soup dumplings here are better than many others in SGV.

Yelp
Very authentic Wuxi cuisine. The noodles also come in ample portions. Would come again for a quick lunch bite for sure.
