Lon's Coney Island

My food was fresh and hot. I called in my order and it was ready at the time they promised. The moment I walked in I was greeted kindly. The cashier was friendly and the cook even popped over to say hi. This is also a black owned business. I love to support a business that cares about the service they provide. Thanks for giving me a coney island to go to when I’m around this way.

Crazy thing is I just did a TikTok video that went digital about Lons Coney Island. But I usually deal with D at the counter. Whoever the young lady was then answered the phone when I called to place my order a few minutes ago, had a very nasty attitude. It was the tone for me 🙄 And I was about to drop at least $60 on my order …smh… so I won’t be going back unless D is there🤷🏽‍♀️so I’ll just call to make sure she’s there first before I deal with them. The only reason I was even coming there is because it’s black owned and because I like the food. But I’m not giving any establishment my money when I’m not appreciated. Making me rethink…should I take that TikTok post down? Cause BossiAna don’t want her name associated with nothing that’s not 💯

The food here is terrible. Nothing I get at this Coney Island is delicious. Everything is mediocre AT BEST. Gave 2 stars because some of the front counter ladies are nice with good customer service. Other than that,,,NO! I walk past this Coney Island to go to one that's at least a quarter mile away before I eat there. If they get some good cooks then I will eagerly support.

Okay first and foremost when I call to put my order in I did not know there was new ownership. I had ordered the same thing I order every single time from this location and that's their corn beef salad. Anyone that's ever been to this location and have ever experienced their grilled chicken salad or their corned beef salad that's all I've gotten from them over the years. It wasn't until I ordered this specific salad and the young lady who was very nice and respectful didn't know really what I was talking about so I had to look at my phone to see if I was calling the wrong number. To make a long story short there was an error in terms of her trying to produce the same salad that I was getting from the old owners after realizing these were new owners. So there was a discrepancy the salad was not made right the first time but the owner introduced himself told me to come back in he didn't charge me he redid my whole order from scratch and did it fresh and I just got to say I got to show some love to him black owned you rarely see black on Coney Islands in Detroit and I have to say I'm proud of this guy he didn't exceptional job on my salad and I just wanted to show them some love. Please excuse typos I didn't read over I didn't check the errors because I'm using voice text. I noticed also that he patronize his people and I want to mention that my name is Valencia are Williams I wrote a book years ago called the hottest summer ever known then I wrote another book which is the part two to this one and I have another one called vindictive women. My books were on the best selling list when I saw that layout of all the celebrities that he did there that's really showing love to us as the people who has made it. I made it and I gave back like this guy and just letting you know guys my books are getting ready to hit the streets again and would love your support as well. I'm going to go back and check him out and give him a book and again I'm grateful for all the support I got here in my community.

Used to be good food, but since it was bought by someone else: the staff sucks, at night you get old chilli and u can tell, orders get messed up. Bring back the old owners. This shit is terrible. Do better at least.

Great!! Food good staff on point... which should be everyone's priority when stopping for food on the go .. if you going to take a seat or be there for a while you might want to be sure staff is doing what you like... satisfying your taste buds!!! That's what important... lol.. overall being out and stopping here it was a cool place and food did what they want it to do.... Satisfy Milik!!! Enjoy.

Excellent customer service!! You can't always find amazing customer service and great quality food in one spot. This is one place in Detroit that has both. Keep up the amazing work

May order very early in the morning. Hot and ready by the time I was ready to pick it up. They only had turkey sausage as an option. They serve more pork when it comes to breakfast, but I don't eat pork.

The corned beef sandwich & wing dings were top tier! Service was fast. Prices were affordable. Definitely recommend trying this place.

If I could give ZERO Stars I would, order a grilled chicken pita..chicken was burnt, they put the lettuce and tomatoes and cheese on the bottom, when I called they said that's how they do it( but ive been there before)..so of course when I attempted to pick it up it broke..from the wetness of lettuce and tomatoes, again when I called ..I was told that's how they do it, $11 sandwich only, for a burnt soggy pita...unacceptable..highly not recommend..of you guys have a new cook..get rid of them,

Your typical Coney Island greasy spoon nothing special about the place, but they do offer good food compared to other coney islands in the city

I love this place!! When I was pregnant with my second child. My husband would go to Lon's. And when they would see him come in and immediately start making my Double Bacon Cheeseburger on Texas Toast!!!

Favorite neighborhood Coney. Funny staff, great food. My family has been eating here for years!

Lons Coney Island restaurant has the greatest food! It's a family owned business and they are amazing people. The restaurant is small but they are clean, efficient and serve excellent food. My favorite Detroit neighborhood Coney Island!
