"Lola’s Coney Island offers a faithful recreation of the Detroit-style hot dog. Mike Sula praises the franks, describing them as “salty and bouncy” and “perfectly compatible with the chili.” At its core, it’s an “admirable, even craveable, expression of the style.” Other menu items include a coney taco made with ground beef, lettuce, tomato, onion, and shredded cheese on a steamed hot dog bun, as well as “astonishing” avgolemeno soup – a “lemony-chickeny” rice porridge that Sula calls “the best $5 risotto in the city.” To satiate the sweet tooth, there’s a Rock and Rye float featuring vanilla ice cream suspended in Faygo’s cherry cream cola." - Jeffy Mai
