Had a ton of fun at the Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar with the fun drinks, rooftop views of downtown New York City and Jersey City across the Hudson River, and chill vibes!
Loop Doopy has been on my list for a while and the last time we tried going a couple years back in the early Fall, it was closed as it's only open during the Summer period, so I was glad that we were finally able to make it. It's easy to miss, as it's inside of a hotel with entrances on that aren't very prevalent.
The first aspect I noticed upon entering the rooftop was that it was a bit on the smaller end, but still decent space, and the unique views it offered. Most rooftops I've visited in the city often have views of midtown and the Empire State Building. Here, the view was mainly of the Hudson River, Downtown Jersey City, and the Statue of Liberty in the distance.
We ended up hanging out at the bar as we weren't planning on staying very long and visited for a pre-dinner drink and views. It seemed that while seating was limited, there was decent turnover and since we arrived, there were to to three visitors who got seating with minimal wait. Just make sure to inform one of the hotessess/ wait staff that you'd like to sit, we were talking to the bartender who said he'd keep an eye out but never did.
While the views and vibe for me were the main attractions, the drinks were very well presented and strong. I ordered the Raspberry Lime Paloma (Casamigos Tequila, Raspberry, Grapefruit, Lime) with Prosecco ($23). I enjoyed the drink, which comes with a popsicle, which tasted like crap but looked great. The drink itself was tasty with a nice blend of flavors and strong. It came in a large wine glass so it was also a decent portion.
Given that we were enjoying the Summer vibes and the beautiful blue-skied, sunny day out, we decided to try one more drink before we headed out for dinner. I ordered the I Can't Even (Grey Goose Vodka, Fresh Lemonade, Raspberry, Agave) ($18). I didn't enjoy it as much as the Raspberry Lime Paloma, but it was also well presented and decent.
Overall, I enjoyed Loopy Doopy and is top three in my list of rooftop bars in New York City. I would definitely come back here if I had more time to hang out to enjoy drinks and conversations with my friends, or to bring a traveling visitor here. I had a lot of fun!
