A Daytime Asian ‘Night Market’ Emerges in Eastern Market | Eater Detroit

"I learned that Lor Bistro is a family-run home business operated for more than a decade that frequently pops up at summertime markets and occasionally takes on catering orders; Bee Vang says the business specializes in skewers, Hmong pork sausage, crispy chicken and shrimp rolls, dumplings, and naab vaam, a sweet, tri-colored coconut beverage with jelly and tapioca pearls, and that these marketplaces are opportunities to show the next generation his community’s contributions to the local food scene." - Serena Maria Daniels

It wasn't a good experience for me. The food is average, and there was a small HAIR in my club sandwich. The music sucks but the decoration is nice.

The place is nice having a comfortable setting. During summer, it is very busy with lot of shishas and loud music. During winter, the music is light and the place is a good option to relax and enjoy food. I prefer winter time :) Food portions are fair and prices are fair and affordable. The quality is good.

The dining experience at Lor left much to be desired. Upon arrival, despite the restaurant not being crowded, we were warmly greeted and seated promptly by friendly staff. However, the positives quickly dissipated as various issues unfolded throughout our visit. The Hummus was a highlight, well-prepared and fresh, offering a promising start. Unfortunately, the Balila lacked seasoning and preparation finesse, failing to meet expectations. Fattouch managed to salvage some credibility with its well-executed preparation despite missing a few ingredients. The Nakanek, although served in a minuscule portion and lacking seasoning, attempted redemption with a decent pomegranate sauce, yet its high price per piece was unjustifiable. The cheese rolls, ordered baked, were disappointingly bland, while the Batata Harra arrived devoid of seasoning, resembling a basic fried potato dish. The Half Grilled Chicken arrived inconsistently cooked, with satisfactory sauce but chewy meat, further adding to the culinary letdowns. Dessert was never delivered despite a considerable 30-minute wait, compounding our dissatisfaction. Overall, Lor falls short on multiple fronts. Despite a friendly initial reception and commendable efforts with a few dishes, the overall dining experience was marred by slow service, poorly executed dishes, and a lacklustre atmosphere. Factor in the high prices, and the value proposition diminishes further. Regrettably, I can not recommend this establishment, particularly for those seeking a satisfying Arabic cuisine experience.

The food was over priced and it didn't match the quality of it. The service was OK and atmosphere was loud and smoke everywhere. I understand they serve hookah but they should have section for smokers and non-smokers. By the time we finished I had a bad headache all because of the smoke.

First time and i will come back again. The food is excellent and the service is impeccable. Almost full and everybody’s enjoying the international cuisine. From pizzas to fajitas to steaks and shawarma.

What a disappointment! If you're looking to ruin your evening, this is the place. The management is unprofessional, the restaurant is highly overrated, and the portion sizes are shockingly small for the price. Definitely not recommended.

The staff was really rude, were always treating our table with attitude, and threw the bill on the table as if it was trash after we asked for it more than 5 times. We were in a rush and the staff noticed that so they kept delaying everything as much as they can. However, the food was great, the quinoa salad was very good and the penne pasta with white sauce was good as well. Would not recommend though at all..

I visited Lor Restaurant in Broummana for the first time with one of my hijabi friends, and our experience was disappointing. Despite most of the restaurant being empty, they tried to seat us at a table in the corner. When we chose a table in the middle instead, the owner, who was sitting at another table, rudely claimed it was reserved. It’s truly shameful for a Lebanese restaurant to treat us this way, especially as hijabi women. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and we are very disappointed in how we were treated.
