The dining experience at Lor left much to be desired. Upon arrival, despite the restaurant not being crowded, we were warmly greeted and seated promptly by friendly staff. However, the positives quickly dissipated as various issues unfolded throughout our visit.
The Hummus was a highlight, well-prepared and fresh, offering a promising start. Unfortunately, the Balila lacked seasoning and preparation finesse, failing to meet expectations. Fattouch managed to salvage some credibility with its well-executed preparation despite missing a few ingredients. The Nakanek, although served in a minuscule portion and lacking seasoning, attempted redemption with a decent pomegranate sauce, yet its high price per piece was unjustifiable. The cheese rolls, ordered baked, were disappointingly bland, while the Batata Harra arrived devoid of seasoning, resembling a basic fried potato dish.
The Half Grilled Chicken arrived inconsistently cooked, with satisfactory sauce but chewy meat, further adding to the culinary letdowns. Dessert was never delivered despite a considerable 30-minute wait, compounding our dissatisfaction.
Overall, Lor falls short on multiple fronts. Despite a friendly initial reception and commendable efforts with a few dishes, the overall dining experience was marred by slow service, poorly executed dishes, and a lacklustre atmosphere. Factor in the high prices, and the value proposition diminishes further. Regrettably, I can not recommend this establishment, particularly for those seeking a satisfying Arabic cuisine experience.
