Great experience, welcomed upon entry and seated promptly. Drinks came out quickly and staff was professional and friendly. Happy Hour appetizers were tasty. The dinner, Oxtails, Rice and Steamed Cabbage was very good. I believe it was $27. Portions were fair. My only issue was cornbread is only served only on weekends, as well as Collard Greens. The atmosphere was nice and the space was beautifully upgraded since my last visit. All in all it was a great dining experience.

I’m extremely disappointed in this place. I ordered here before and the food was amazing. So I decided to order again and my order was over $50. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage and a side of Mac n cheese, plantains and corn bread and extra sauce and instead of calling me to let me know they were out and offering a substitute, they only gave me a side of corn. The jerk chicken didn’t even taste that good and the sauce tasted like barbecue sauce. I thought I found a go-to spot but I guess I was mistaken. Heed my warning and just make food at home. These restaurants have lost the touch of providing quality

Aaliyah was awesome Food was great . Definitely get the wings I was with a party of 5 . They loved the oxtail and Curry goat. I got the salmon. All food was seasoned well

As someone who truly values giving credit where it’s due, I have to say this restaurant did not disappoint. I’m a foodie and very particular about my food, and I was pleased with what I experienced here. I tried the Escovitch Snapper, which was perfectly seasoned, and I substituted my sides (coleslaw and french fries) for rice and peas and Mac n cheese — both were absolutely delicious. For dessert, I had the red velvet cake, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. This place has been on my list for quite some time, and I’m so glad I finally got to check it off and a special shout-out to the bartender, John. He was very nice and accommodating! I would also note that I’d recommend keeping an eye on the bathrooms, as one of the stalls didn’t quite meet expectations in terms of cleanliness and the restroom was my first stop before I sat down to dine in. I’m glad I decided to stay however because the rest of the restaurant didn’t reflect that issue. Looking forward to visiting again!

Lorna’s has been my place to go for years. The atmosphere is like none other in Miami gardens. The service is quick and respectful. I’m used to ordering the oxtail but Matari, the owner, convinced me to try the Salmon and have to mention that the Salmon is the best I’ve tasted in Miami. Let’s not forget the rice and peas and the Mac and cheese. The cakes are a must for dessert especially the Red velvet. Not much of a drinker but their bar looks fabulous and many do sit there to drink.

I went to Lorna's with my family after my nephew's christening. We were a very large party, but the waitress handled us exceptionally well and didn't mess up any of our orders. The service was relatively quick, especially considering how busy the restaurant was on a game day Sunday. The drinks definitely packed a punch, one is more than enough! I opted for the Blue Long Island, and it was delicious. For my entrée, I had the oxtail, which was juicy, flavorful, and falling off the bone. For sides, I chose rice and peas and was supposed to have collard greens and cornbread. Unfortunately, the kitchen ran out of cornbread, which was a bit disappointing since the sides were offered together. Despite that, the meal was still delicious. For dessert, I had the red velvet cake, and it was incredibly moist and sweet, a must-have! The oxtail is also a must-try, and the gravy is amazing. The restaurant's ambiance is very nice, but it's a packed spot, so I'd definitely recommend making reservations. 10/10 would recommend, and I'll definitely be back!

Husband ordered the sliders. The menu said they came with fries, they did not. He chose not to order fries for an extra cost. They came on full size hamburger buns that had been cut in half, with no condiments whatsoever. He said the meat was seasoned well, but they were certainly not presented or dressed correctly. I ordered the jerk chicken with cabbage and a Cesar salad. My food was delicious. I do not particularly care for the way island places haphazardly chop up chicken and other meat, it seems you spend more time eating around bone shards than actually enjoying the meat. Service was adequate, felt a little rushed.

I visited Lorna's while staying with a friend after Miami Swim Week. We were all craving Jamaican food and she recommended this location. The Parking: Free parking lot. The Service: The customer service here was AMAZING! We were the only guests in the restaurant during this particular time of day, so all attention felt to be on us. The Atmosphere: Really nice restaurant. Many Caribbean restaurants I've been to either have no seating or very limited seating. Lorna's feels very upscale and I love that. The music was also really good! The Food: I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Lovers with fries and cabbage ($22). I also ordered Fried Chicken Wings as an appetizer. Very delicious. Overall, I highly recommend if you're in the Miami Gardens area.

The food was spectacular! I had the oxtail and grits and Mac and cheese and would recommend both. I was with a party of 10 and everyone enjoyed their food. Our waitress was fast and did her best with our large party. She asked for our names before putting the order in and when they served us they called us by name food ensure our orders were correct. The only thing was the drinks are STRONG! Lol and some wouldn't think that was a problem lol

Came here as a tourist for the jazz concert and needed something good and flavorful to eat. The food ambience and service were good. I was only in Florida for 3 days and I ended up eating here everyday. Since I couldn't find anything near the stadium that looked good. (Once at the table and twice at the bar...Bar service is quicker) Side notes: The food could be a little spicier but I think they play it safe for the tourist and They could have more vegetarian options. I do enjoy fish every now and then. But I had to eat it everyday since there was no other option. Also I noticed when I sat at he table the bartender was also our waiter (reason why I chose to sit at the bar my last 2 days) our waiter was nice but he seemed annoyed at times understandable so because he was being overworked.

First of all, when you walk in the place is beautiful and not to mention the music is a mix of everything you want to hear. Now, let's talk about the food. Cooked to perfection well seasoned and the portion is more than generous. I ordered the cracked conch it was delicious. My husband had the stew fish. We paid $25 per plate market price. While waiting for our food we were introduced to the conch soup. Again perfectly seasoned just amazing. I would rate the service a 9 out of 10. The staff were nice and attentive. We were greeted nicely when we walked in. I give the service 9 out of 10 because the utensils that were left at the table did not include a spoon and knife. We had to ask for a knife. All in all 10 out of 10 for this place. I will be back. This time when I go back I'm bringing a crew with me. I was all around a satisfied customer.

I have eaten at Lorna's many times, however, I was extremely disappointed with the food and service on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025. We had to ask for cutlery, napkins and our drinks. It was a large group, but as a former waitress, I know the young lady should have received more assistance in taking care of our party.

Had a great time on our last day in town. Will recommend to family and friends who come to visit Miami! Fish and grits off the chain good!

This restaurant was EXCELLENT. Just dropped in for the live music and the place was filled with patrons. The host was very accommodating and found us a nice place to sit. The food was excellent. I had Oxtails and they were well seasoned and tender. I was so impressed with the ambiance, service and food that I not only tipped my server, I tipped the host too. Very worth it.

Excellent everything I promise!!!!!!!!!! A whole vibe!!!!!! Customer service is A1. This is the type of place that you fly into eat (2hourflight) and then go back home.

This place will always be my go to for any special occasion. The food is amazing and the ambience is unmatched. Whether you are celebrating a birthday or just a date night you will not be disappointed with your meal or the drink options to choose from. My meal of choice is always the oxtail, but the conch (fried or stewed), brown stewed chicken, jerk chicken are flavorsome and tasty. Our server Durrell was very professional and attentive.

If you want really delicious food, friendly staff, and a peaceful place without loud children running around. You definitely should try Lorna's Caribbean Restaurant. I've seen this location in Miami Gardens for the longest but never took the time to stop by. Now that I did, I'm grateful. The waiter we had was super nice and dedicated to our needs. Our water couldn't even reach half way before he refilled it lol. The food was impeccable. The fish was crispy yet soft on the inside and the jerk chicken was a bit spicy but not too spicy. But Mannnn... the mac and cheese though! The best I've ever had. You can tell those cooks hands are blessed. I will definitely return especially on their Friday R&B nights or at least that's what I think it's called.

I am so sorry that I did not take pictures. I wish I could show just how good this place was. I had the brown stew chicken and my husband had the jerk chicken. Both meals were delicious. Jessica our waitress was great.

So apparently it's been 11 months since I've been here.. wanted to give an updated review of our experience Dinning with at Lorna's, we had the pleasure of Destiny being our waitress, she is an absolutely pleasure and attentive and smelled divine ( she said it was Tom Ford). I've dined at this location before on a Tuesday night I wasn't aware of the life music and it took me by surprise but today was just amazing, my cousins and I were able to reconnect and have a great time. The food was beyond delicious, complements to the chef, the drinks were superb, compliments to the bartender. A little sad you ran out of rum cake but this just means we have to come back (again).

We were in from NY to see the game vs Miami Dolphins and we dined at Lorna 's for dinner. The food was amazing. The breaded fried snapper out of this world. The good flavorful and the staff was amazing.

I've been to Lorna's several time and the quality always remains top tier! The servers are pleasant, they always play great music to vibe to, the inside is very nice, and the food NEVER disappoints! I brought 3 friends with me that have never been and by the time we were leaving they were all talking about coming back. Some of the orders were the oxtail, cracked conch, plantain, brown stew, and mac & cheese and everyone was very satisfied. The portions are great and the prices are very reasonable! Also, the cocktails are always amazing! One of my friends had the Cadillac and loved it. I along with another friend opted for the Tropical Mini Car and it was everything! I will surely continue to come back and recommend it for anyone looking for Caribbean cuisine and a nice vibe!

I've wanted to come here for a while.. we were working around the corner and looking for a bite and Lorna came up in the options so we went. We all loved our food. Staff was great and the restaurant has a great look and feel to it. We were initially disappointed because we wanted a table and everything was reserved so they sat us at the bar... but it turned put to be just fine there.. and we really liked our bartender. Definitely a good experience and the jerk was great!

The food is good but my last meal of jerk chicken I ordered on my way from work I got home was dry and hard I was unable to eat it and that was expensive so that was a loss when they were first open all was good but now it's like you get whatever,, in my opinion if you notice the chicken is dry DONT SELL IT JUST TO MAKE THE LAST DOLLAR.. think about if it was you.. would've you love to get served that dry chicken.

I found a gem! A quick local meet up spot with good Caribbean food and delightfully mellow Sunday vibes. The ambiance and casual elegance of the restaurant made up for the strip plaza location. The Oxtails were well seasoned and the french toast was delicious. The jerk chicken and waffles were also pretty good. The server was attentive and the food arrived to the table in a timely manner. Definitely, a must try if you like Caribbean food!

Super yummy!! I wish i took pics but my brown stew chicken was immaculate. Tender, flavorful, and a decent sized portion. The music playlist was great and enjoyable. Our server was amazing: attentive and knowledgeable. We will definitely be returning. And also love that there's an outdoor area, a bonus!

The food good. The drinks were good. I missed brunch so the traditional Jamaican food wasn't much better than a drive thru Donnas or Dutch pot. The atmosphere was nice and I would recommend this place to tourists or a non Jamaican .

3.5 Star Rating - we had a bad experience eating outside we were literally attacked by flies. We ended up getting our food in containers to go there were like 20 flies hovering around our food. I'm sure if we sat inside we wouldn't have had this issue so I can't deduct too many points. Inside was really nice but they were packed with reservations. I'd opt to sit at the bar. The oxtail was delicious. I enjoyed the conch salad. I didn't care for my blackened snapper filet - wasn't anything exciting or different. I asked for the Escovich sauce on the side which wasn't that great. I really wish they had the whole fish which they ran out by 6 pm. The drinks were super strong - half off on happy house which was very much so enjoyed.

Had the most amazing food here! The service isn't very fast but believe me it's worth the wait. The atmosphere is laid back with some cute modern decor. I got the coconut shrimp as an appetizer and it came with a sweet orange sauce that complimented it well. I decided to get the jerk chicken wing appetizer as my meal. The wings were absolutely amazing- they were big with tender and juicy chicken and a delicious jerk sauce. My boyfriend got the honey glaze salmon dinner which came with two sides, he chose Mac n cheese and rice. I ended up sneaking a bunch of his meal because it was so good! Amazing quality fish and the sauce was incredible. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely return!

They have many good reviews, hence that is why I went. However I went here and it didn't meet my expectations. The food did not have that "island touch" to it. The service was alright. The restaurant has beautiful aesthetics! I will say the drink a are 10/10! Tasty & strong. However the food? It did not give what it was suppose to. A little disappointed.

This was much needed outing! The food and service at Lornas was amazing. This stewed conch and snapper was delicious! Not to mention that strawberry hennessy though!

-Nice, like an upscale sports bar type vibe -R&B music was playing which was nice. -Christel, our server, was AMAZING. She was completely attentive to us, and our questions and you could tell she really tried to make sure we enjoyed our dining experience. -They didn't have Curry Goat at the time we were there, nor did they have plantain -Located in a shopping plaza so parking wasn't an issue. Just look out for Denny's Customer only parking signs. -I made reservations since past reviews mentioned they get busy. It was a pleasant experience, I would go back!

Omg this place was introduced to me from a friend. Let me tell you the drink's amazing, food delicious, customer service immaculate. The staff was so nice and patient. The scenery was beautiful I heard Happy Hour is lit but I'll definitely slide soon! The ambiance very chill and nice. Staff respectful and friendly and lastly black owned . I love this for us not one time did I feel out of place just all around friendly food delicious .

I ate here for the first time and my experience was horrible I been thinking long about writing this review. It was for my birthday and my sister was treating, we wasn't going to dine in bur decided it would be better option. The waitress was great and honestly everything was good until it was time to pay our tab. The manager refused our payment, her reasoning was that she take a lost with the type of card my sister had. She then said that we should cash app her which as a business so large I think that's so unprofessional. After, going back and forth she agreed to take the payment only to change her mind again. Bottom line she felt that, she wasn't going to get her money for whatever reason. So, she tells us to leave her restaurant and to never step foot in there again. When was fine with me because this was my first and last time after our experience. But it didn't end there, she followed us outside now threaten to call the police. We set in the car waiting over 30 mins for the police to arrived. After about 45 mins we left thinking no one was coming and went back home to finish out our day. After a month later police show up to my home stating that the manager say that my vehicle was involved in a dine and dash. I then had to go to court, first time having any run in with the law and I'm over the age of 40 so not only is this is false but on my record. So, now I had to take off work to attend court which the judge ruled in my favor after hearing from both the manager, the officer and myself and it was thrown out. But I just wanted to share that not everyone is out here scamming, and I hope it was a lesson for the owner that her judgement of our character was wrong.

Came for Happy Hour & had a great time, the strawberry Hennessy drink was delicious & definitely got the job done in two drinks ! I also had the fried shrimp dinner with fries & sweet plantain which was very flavorful, my friend got the brown stew chicken & enjoyed her meal also .Our waiter was friendly and guided us through the menu making sure we understood what we were getting & ordered what we would enjoy based off our taste & his recommendations. The overall restaurant was clean & had a nice atmosphere/ decorations .

Tucked behind a Dennys in a strip mall, where parking can be a slight challenge, is this gem with great interior and spacious interior. The bar is well apportioned for many liquid libations and extensive menu of Caribbean flavors are decent in taste. The conch fritters were tasty with a spicy mayonnaise sauce as an enhancement. Fried wings appetizer arrived hot and seasoned with ranch dressing. The blackened salmon and jerk chicken were appropriately seasoned and neither was dried out. Collard greens were seasoned with smoked meat and the Mac and cheese béchamel was slightly congealed but passable. Overall a 8 / 10. Key lime cake I was very happy with and would be back for more.

Yummm, I particularly liked the brown stew chicken at this place, and for lunch it's only $10! A steal at that price for the high quality and quantity. The jerk is great too, and the curry chicken is also fire. The service is always fast and professional here too. It's slight fancy inside too, they've got a sexy cocktail bar that I'd happily take a date.

Not going to lie I was quite pleased with the interior buildout and design of this location. Seating was spacious and there is some outdoor seating provided. Chef and owner Ms. Lorna were very very pleasant The location just made me feel happy. Loved the plush royal blue seating and it. It was lovely and the food was good and tasty.

Oxtails , rice and peas was tasty. Hostess was very friendly. I did a take out but ambience was pretty nice. I've been back a couple of times since then; didn't really enjoy the conch balls or brown stew chicken but the staff I encountered are really nice.

Upon entering the hostess was very nice and welcoming. We decided to sit at the bar. We were then welcomed by the bartender Tyra who has a positive happy personality. The food and drinks were great. Restaurant was very clean and elegant looking. The Owner Matari came by to speak with us and asked us about our experience and told us about their restaurant story and how they came about. Overall great experience and will definitely be returning.

Unfortunately, we are still sitting in the restaurant after being here over a hour. We haven't received our food. The waitress is trying to be nice but the food is taking ENTIRELY too long (over 45 minutes). If you see the pictures there are less than 5 other people in here. The atmosphere is nice but the wait for food was too long.

The restaurant is beautiful and the food is really really good. We ordered a lot of food and everything was delicious. The staff was really friendly and welcoming. They seemed a lil scattered we had a lot of people at our table. But everyone was so pleasant it didn't matter. My family will definitely be back.

The service was amazing. My friends and I went there for lunch. We just wanted something to go. I ordered the fried fish sandwich. It was a nice sandwich, however, the fish had too much batter and it was extremely crunchy. I was not able to taste fish, it just was fried batter. I was disappointed because I had eaten here before but I will try it again. I love the ambiance there. Everyone has their off days.

Extremely slow service and it wasn't crowded. Forgot my husband's order, even though we both ordered exactly the same. As for the food, well you can't go wrong with eggs, grits, and bacon, right? Well, I got sausage instead of bacon ordered. We're out of towner's so no reason we would return. They've got to change it up to continue to stay in business.

We left the cruise port and was hungry heading back to Orlando. We stopped in at Lorna's and it was the best choice ever. The waiter Matari was amazing and on point! We also met the Owner/Chef, very pleasant and respectful gentleman who can cook! We got the fried fish and grits, oxtail and grits and shrimp and grits. I know a good grits but this was amazing!!!! Definitely recommend swinging by and eating, won't regret it! Great job Lorna and team, AMAZING!!!!
