Loro - Review - Houston - The Infatuation

"Joining its sister Heights location is the newest iteration of Loro in Upper Kirby. The pan-Asian smokehouse features crispy Thai pork ribs and smoked shishito queso, plus specials like the Tokyo shoyu ramen that’s only available on Tuesday and Wednesday. Loro also offers a Happy Hour every weekday from 2-6pm, where you can grab alcoholic slushies for $5 on their large covered patio. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Stopped by LORO in Rice Village and ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. They nailed it. Perfect crunch on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the sauce took it over the top. The flavors worked together without being too heavy. The place has a relaxed, open feel and is great for hanging out. The staff was friendly and made the whole experience even better. I’ll be back to try more of the menu.

Loro is a great happy hour/dinner spot. I enjoyed the live music too. Hands down, the brisket queso and sweet corn = 10/10. I wasn’t a fan of the salmon dip, but my fiance really really enjoyed it. The Thai pork ribs were decent, but I don’t know if I’d order again. The smoked wings were okay…the flavor was interesting. After eating about 2 wings, I couldn’t stand the taste anymore. All in all, I’m happy to add another restaurant to my go-to list, and looking forward to trying other dishes.

Google
Food was pretty good. Interesting flavors but nothing spectacular. Prices are WAYYYYY too high for the portions to the point where I would not recommend this place to anyone. As seen in the photos $9 for a bowl of cold noodles with almost no toppings, $18 for 4 pieces of pork ribs where the bone was bigger than the meat, $17 for that ridiculously small portion of beef belly. Don’t come on an empty belly or you’ll be leaving with an empty wallet. It’s good for the drinks and vibes, but if you’re looking for good food for a decent price, not the place.

Had high hopes for this places, picture looked good online. Went here with a friend to try the food. The dishes are tiny like tapas style. Queso tasted like velveta, smoke salmon dip was very tangy way too much acid. The smoked wings were good and the salad was good, the dessert was bland as hell. Quite disappointed

Google
I love Loro! Nice staff, delicious food and I can't get over how beautiful their architecture is. That is for both locations. The patios are so nice to hang out with friends or if you simply want to enjoy the nice weather. Mocktails are also available which I think is a great option to have. The only place I eat pork, the ribs are really good and their chicken sandwich is also a favorite as it is crispy all around until the last bite. I absolutely love their rice noodles and always have it. Parking is fairly easy as they have a lot behind the building. Beautiful job!

Hello! I just wanted to say how much I appreciated the staff and how they went above and beyond with customer service. Tyler was the one that helped us, but all the staff were great. The chicken karaage and sesame noodles here are also amazing. I originally ordered the smoked salmon bowl because I wanted to try something new. While I’m sure the dish is good, it wasn’t my personal preference. When I went to go order something else to eat, Tyler helped me out and was really understanding and helpful. Tyler really went above and beyond to refund the original dish and give us complementary chicken wings as well. I really appreciated it and could tell that they all wanted to make sure I had a good experience. I cannot recommend this place enough and we will definitely be coming back!

Still a favorite of mine to go to in Houston. Delicious sesame noodles, chicken carriage, burger, drinks, everything is delightful. Meats from heaven. Probably between the two locations I have been here about 9 times.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! If you have not been here please check them out. They have two locations one on Kirby near greenway plaza and another locations in the heights area. I have been to both locations several times and every single time the service and food is consistent!! Very spacious interior, clean, pet friendly patio, heaters outdoor, variety of food items. What I order every time : - sesame noodles!! 10/10 What else I order : - Brisket Queso - brisket sandwich - double smash burger - wings - crispy potatoes - chicken karaage - chocolate crème brûlée - broccolini

Yelp
I tried Loro on Kirby with some friends last night and I'm so glad we came here! There is a very fun and lively vibe on the outdoor patio with lots of different types of seating, along with both fans and heaters available depending on the weather. You can grab a seat anywhere and look at the menu online or head inside to view a physical menu before ordering at the counter. The menu has a lot of variety while still offering cohesive dishes that mix & match very well. All of the employees were very kind and helpful, along with providing excellent and quick service. One employee even went out of their way to make our friend's birthday special with a sweet treat for us all, which was so kind! Each of us ordered the Yuzu Spritz to drink (I made mine spicy - you can add ghost agave liqueur to any drink!) which was phenomenal! Definitely the kind of drink I'd want to try to make at home - or better yet, come back to Loro for. We shared the Crunchy Cabbage Salad and the Crispy Potatoes and both were packed with delicious flavor and perfectly fresh & crispy. The flavors of these dishes were unlike anything I've had elsewhere and they were the perfect appetizer for our meals. For our mains, three of us got the Crispy Szechuan Tofu Rice Bowls and one got the Curry Marinated Shrimp Rice Bowl. Y'all... these dishes were amazing!! The tofu was so crispy and all of the flavors of the bowl melded perfectly together. Each rice bowl comes with coconut-scented rice, seasonal pickles, thai herbs, and a sauce on the side. Our sauce for the tofu bowls was like a salsa verde and was the perfect compliment to this dish. Our friend who ordered the shrimp rice bowl loved hers as well! For dessert, we each had a Dole Whip Soft Serve and got a chocolate chip cookie to share, which were both so delicious! The dole whip had an amazing texture and flavor, and the cookie was so good that we got four more for the road! We had a perfect night at Loro and I look forward to coming back soon. Definitely stop by for delicious eats, good ambiance, and the best service!

Yelp
Corner of Kirby and Albans, great place to enjoy some Asian inspired Bbq. Street parking and behind the building parking is available and the three spots closest to the to go entrance are to go spots. Casual rustic atmosphere with pop rock music and some TV inside and outside. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with fans and heat lamps. Helpful servers- you order inside and grab a puck and bring with you to a table. Pluses 1. Moist brisket 2. Corn side is great and ask for aioli on the side 3. Arugula and melon salad has a kick Areas to improve Nothing so far Pork ribs big portion but a little too saucey for us. Fun place to go near Rice Village but on a Sunday dinner time not crowded, but I bet during HH during the week it would be!

Yelp
I've been a handful of times for both happy hour and lunch, and I've been pretty please with this location. The food is great. I've really enjoyed almost everything I've eaten here. My favorite dish is the Pork Belly rice bowl. There is always a good serving of meat, the coconut rice tastes great and is soft, and the pickled veggies offer a nice balance. I really like the sauce that comes with it, but adding the aioli that comes with the potatoes really adds a special taste to it as well. I love their lunch special during the week from 11-2 where you get a sandwich and side for $15. The smash burger is a good size and really tasty. Next time I'll definitely try the chicken sandwich. Service here has always been fast and friendly. They have a great outdoor area that is big and open. They're dog friendly too , which is an added plus!

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurant now has a second location in Houston, and it's just as great as I remembered from the first location. The food is flavorful, the people are the epitome of friendly southern hospitality, and the place gives the best post-work vibes. I visited on a weekday for the first time and got to try out the happy hour menu. For drinks, my friends tried the killa colada and the Sapporo beer while I had the ginger cooler. For food, we ordered an arrangement of shareables: edamame, smoked shishito queso, crunchy sweet corn fritters, oak smoked beef brisket, crispy Thai pork ribs, a bowl of rice and a bowl of sesame rice noodles. We cleaned the plates, and it was just the right portion for a group of three. The total came out to be just around $100 with tax and tips included, which is quite reasonable for a nice filling dinner. Pro tip: aside from street parking next to the restaurant, there is additional parking in the back.

Yelp
We went to Loro for happy hour/golden hour and it was definitely a vibe to sit outside and chill. The happy hour menu was decent but, later that night we both got sick and suspected it was the salmon dip. Pretty solid system tho. You order all food and drinks at the bar and they have waiter to bring your food and refill drinks.

Yelp
Very very solid chicken sandwich, 'crispy smoked chicken sandwich' with citrus-cabbage salw, pickles, hot honey, smoked hot sauce. I saw a BOGO for it on the Uber Eats app, so I ended up getting it. At $12.95 a pop (in store), it's a bit pricier than, say, Chick-Fil-A, but you want one of the best chicken sandwiches in town, I'd definitely nominate Loro. Chicken sandwich is juicy and the slaw balances it well. Bun is a little toasted and the pickles are nice and thick. I wouldn't recommend the char siu pork belly though, it NEEDS to come with rice or else it's just way too unctuous. Also found it a tad dry. Fairly spacious restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating too. Outside is a little dumpy, the alley/street is a little narrow, and parking could be a pain if its busy. Looking forward to trying the rice bowls in the future, their Austin location was good!

Yelp
I came in here late on a Wednesday night and it was relatively empty - I'd guess maybe 7 other patrons beside myself. Admittedly, it was raining so that could have something to do with the crowd because the outside patio gives me the impression that this is a place that people like to hang with with the seat swings and more. That said, I was able to quickly order and take the seat of my choice, and there is plenty of seating. I ordered the queso (I saw a picture in a review and that's what drove my decision to try it) and also a steak rice bowl because I was told their rice bowls were good by the person at the counter - as well as "anything that was smoked." The queso was good however, it wasn't as warm as I would have expected. In fact, it had settled so much that I had to stir it with the chips to try to break it up. I was a little surprised at the tempt, but I shook it off because I realized I went to the bathroom after I ordered and forgot to take the buzzer out of my purse and put it on the table - so the server was looking for me. My steak bowl came out not too long after. It was also good, but not great. I think it had a significant amount of ingredients but I was told the sauce was spicy - I've yet to taste the spice and that's after I poured the entire container in the bowl. Did it have a nice flavor, yes, but spicy, not at all. The staff were all extremely nice and I liked the decor throughout the building including some cool antique Houston paintings that were on the wall near my table. In my humble opinion, overall this is an okay place, but you can probably get a more flavorful experience somewhere else for the same price point.

Yelp
Wow! The best service at the bar! So nice to me, chatting/making me feel at home. Let me try a beer she was telling me about. Food was fresh and really yummy! I guess it fits... Uchi is my #1 fav restaurant in town so it doesn't shock me that I like this place. Explosion of flavors. Clean/refreshing ambiance. I will be back :)

Yelp
It's good. The meats are tender and flavorful. The chicken karagi is a favorite. The broccoli side dish is so good but it was ice cold. I asked a waiter to heat it up and the second dish was the same temperature, which took away from its great salty flavorful. The ribs are tender. The smash burgers are really good too. Love the inside. The cocktails are good. Many tvs. Large patio. Staff is knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, a food place for groups with good food.

Yelp
It took me a while to dine at Loro but i'm finally glad I did! I went with two friends who already dined at the location in the Heights but didn't have that great of an experience. They were willing to give this place a second chance, though. The first advantage this place has over the other location is the ample parking in the back, especially considering that it's located around the Rice Village area. We came during lunch time so it was not very busy. The downside to dining during lunch is that some of the menu items were unavailable and it was too early to take advantage of the happy hour deals. The appetizers were ordered were the smoked salmon dip and the grilled edamame. Both were delicious but the smoked salmon dip was by far the best dish we ordered in my opinion. It wasn't fishy at all but rather flavorful with a hint of spice from the habanero. My next favorite dish was the pork ribs. It was nicely crisp and the saltiness was balanced with the sweetness from the Thai chili sauce. Next, we had the crispy potatoes and pulled pork sandwich. The potatoes came with a side of miso mustard that I want to try recreating at home. It's also hard to mess up crispy potatoes and these ones were just perfection. The brisket sandwich was my least favorite out of everything we ordered. We had to settle on ordering it because the brisket cuts weren't available until after 4PM. You can tell that these weren't the best cuts and they were also pretty dry. I'd want to come back for a dinner service and try their meats since that's what they're known for. Lastly, we ordered the dole whip for dessert, one with Szechuan pepper and one without. To be honest, I don't really feel like the pepper really added anything to the flavor profile. It probably needed more pepper. Overall, we still had a solid dining experience. My friends definitely enjoyed their Loro experience the second time around.

Yelp
Loro is a Texan BBQ and Asian fusion spot that stands out with its sleek design and unique flavor blends. I'm a fan of these kinds of combinations, and Loro does it right. Crunchy Sweet Corn Fritters: 6.5/10 * Pros: These fritters look funky because they are--crunchy, corny, and shaped like little meteorites. The sauce really elevates the flavor. A fun dish but not particularly standout. Smoked Salmon Dip: 8/10 * Pros: Served with puffy wonton chips, this dip is a winner. The salmon is blended with yuzu, habanero aioli, and salsa verde, making for a delicious, zesty bite. * Cons: None noted--great as a shareable appetizer. Oak Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich: 6.8/10 * Pros: A solid option, but it felt like a fancier, spiced-up version of a Buc-ee's brisket sandwich. * Cons: Good but not as exceptional as other items on the menu. Crispy Potatoes: 7.8/10 * Pros: These exceeded expectations, especially when paired with the sauce. A great side dish. * Cons: None noted--a surprisingly good potato dish. Chocolate Chip Cookie: 6.9/10 * Pros: Gooey toffee oozes out with every bite, and there's a nice salty touch to balance the sweetness. * Cons: None noted--good but not extraordinary. Loro is a great spot for catching up over drinks and food, but be aware--the dishes can feel a bit heavy, and you'll notice it afterward. The menu is perfect for sharing, so plan accordingly to keep things light.

Yelp
I was excited when this location opened. The place is always packed and the menu looked very cool. When I called to place the order, the person on the line was friendly and very helpful, with no hold time, which I really valued. The actual interior is lively and trendy, and was, as I expected, full of people. The in house service was also excellent, with someone asking if we were being helped within a minute of entering. The double smash burger was a good burger. The meat was cooked to perfection and had a rich and smoky flavor. While the shrimp in the rice bowl was tasty, the combo wasn't my favorite of all the things we ordered, mostly due to the rice. Now the chocolate crème brûlée was spectacular. I was taken aback, when after the first bite I got a kick from something (chili?). That really elevated the dish in an unexpected way. The candied peanuts were a nice touch too. Definitely want to try more things on that menu!

Yelp
Saw this spot was recently opened and decided to give it a try. It is mostly smokehouse food with Asian inspired flavors. I ordered the ginger, Yuzu cocktail, salmon, dip, BLT, Elote, and potato with miso yuzu glaze. The service was fast and professional, with the food coming out in 10 minutes or less. The outdoor area is really nice and overall the setting is a modern and chill ambience. Of the menu options, I would say the BLT turkey sandwich is one of the weaker options, but still comes across as a nice smoked and peppered dish. By far, the chicken and beef burgers are packed with flavor, as are the Elote and the miso glaze appetizers. As a texture eater, the Elote was my favorite because it had corn with fried onion bits. However, the glaze on the potatoes is worth a try, as it is both tart and umami at the same time, which is quite rare. The texture on these potatoes is also quite unique, as they are crunchier than they look. They are cut Korean banchan style. Overall, this is a welcome addition to the West U restaurant scene and I would definitely come back. Beware that their food is deceptively filling, so order appropriately.

Yelp
This place is very unique. The parking is very limited. The dedicated lot is small and then there is limited street parking. Open concept with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and there are tvs if you want to watch the sports. You can order at the counter or a waiter can come to your table. I visited after work for happy hour. They offer nice light bites anddd some great frozen for happy hour! My favorite was the horchata froze! I enjoyed the smoked salmon dip. I ordered the glas noodles and coconut scented rice. Those definitely need to be eaten with a entree they are pretty mid. I'm definitely going to visit again so I can try different items on the menu.

Shatoyia N.

Yelp
Stopped for happy hour. You order at the counter when you walk in then seat yourself. The queso was really good but you don't get a lot of chips. The wings are good but a tad bit spicy for me. The cheeseburger was good as well. I didn't like the fries...they tasted burnt. Customer service was excellent! They have a decent size patio as well.

Yelp
We loved the other location and were in this area so we didn't hesitate at visiting again. We got the mandarin margarita, typhoon, chicken karaage, crunchy corn fritters, and the smoked turkey blt. Everything was delicious as always and we took home the leftover fritters (they reheat well in an air fryer). Especially loved the passionfruit in the typhoon!

Yelp
I am SO excited that Loro opened up in my side of town! My friend and I went to eat on a Saturday night and it had a pretty good crowd, we were able to get seating which was good. The staff was incredibly friendly, from when we ordered our food to when the food arrived. We got a variety of items. For drinks we got the typhoon, kyuri mule, and a margarita. My favorite drink was the kyuri mule, the cucumber was so refreshing! As for food, we split the smoked shishito queso w brisket, crispy potatoes, and the oak smoked beef brisket. All of the food items were delicious but my favorite was the queso and the brisket. Overall, we had a great experience! I would say that the best way to order is getting multiple items to share. The vibes are amazing and I am so excited to keep coming here in the future. This is a great addition to the neighborhood!

Yelp
This new location is big, lots of seating with nice ambiance within the city. Everything is great here including drinks, food, and service. We dined during their soft opening. Here's what we had for our group of three. Note that this was more than enough food for our group: * Yuzu Spritz - perfect for cooling down from the hot sun * Bloody Mary - tastes as expected * Smoked Wings - it's definitely smoked well, tastes good * Smoked Shishito Queso w/Brisket - perfect as a starter while waiting for the rest of your meal * Double Smashburger - love this, so juicy * Crispy Smoked Chicken - really good hot chicken sandwich * Crispy Thai Pork Ribs - the portion I had was cooked too well but still flavorful * Char Siew Pork Belly - my favorite dish here, recommend eating it with rice as it is only the salty side * Curry Marinated Shrimp Rice Bowl - the sauce is a flavorful burst with each bite * Charred Broccolini- recommended as it goes well with everything * Texas Sweet Corn - yummy!!! * order ALL the sweets: Dole whip, Chocolate crème brulee, chocolate chip cookie The patio is huge with plenty of seating. Big bar, corn holes, and swings. It's a great meetup spot for anytime of the day. They have happy hour menu on weekdays from 2 - 6 PM which makes it nice for a late lunch! Parking might be painful so be sure to carpool when possible.

Yelp
My family and I enjoyed the Loro location in the Heights, so we were ecstatic to find out that they opened one in West U! It was a pleasant evening, so we opted to sit at their lovely patio which is open seating. We ordered a variety of items from the menu but my top 3 faves were the brisket, pork belly, and corn fritters. The brisket and pork belly were extremely tender and flavorful, and the corn fritters took me back to visiting Chinese buffets as a kid (except these were the elevated version, obvi). Portions are on the smaller size, but we shared everything family-style. While it's counter service, they give you pagers and they deliver the food to your table. The staff was very quick and friendly. Would love to return to try their $15 lunch special!
google avatar

Jamie A.

Yelp
Food was very good very flavorful. Everything I had was delicious. The portions are on the smaller side, but the price is decent. You order at the counter. Service was pretty friendly and the place is definitely cool to hang out with friends or catch up.

Yelp
We visited this new Upper Kirby location with a small group to try out the food and drinks for a good time. The parking is much better than the Heights situation but I sense that it will be much more busier once all the tenants of the building are moved in and open. It is the same concept where you go in and place an order/pay at the counter/bar area, grab a table tracker for the food items to be delivered, and choose a table to sit at. The drinks are on point, whether it's their ginger hibiscus agua fresca, tea, or frozen libations! Love the boozy slushees, cocktails, ND zero proof drinks. The happy hour deals are even better! As for the food, we had many plates to share with each other... *Let's start with the good: Smoked Salmon Dip (so appetizing and chips are crunchy), Chicken Karaage (love the flavor and meat quality), Smoked Wings (w/ umami miss blue cheese, good w/ or w/o it), Loro Cheeseburger (good size and beefy flavor), Oak Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich (tasty shredded beef with crunchy papaya salad and herbs), Crispy Smoked Chicken Sandwich (nicely battered and fried with perfect amount of hot honey hot sauce combination), Crispy Szechuan Tofu rice bowl (nicely fried and crisp tofu bites and light chili pepper flavor), Texas Sweet Corn (simple execution with good flavor and texture from crisp onions), Sesame Rice Noodles (delicious chili vinaigrette and chilled noodles). *The A-OK: Crispy Thai Pork Ribs (flavor is good but meat is kind of dry), Char Siew Pork Belly (hoisin sauce plus smoky flavor, but more chewy than the typical char siew you would get at my go-to Chinese BBQ places) *The not so OK: Curry Marinated Shrimp rice bowl (no curry flavor in shrimp, rice not coconut scented but heavily lemongrass and lime scented), Char Siew Pork Belly rice bowl (super dry, super chewy, burnt, and no taste other than sweet char siew mini bites), Oak Smoked Grilled Steak rice bowl (dry, chewy, slightly salty, room temperature fully cooked beef bites). While I would highly recommend some items on the menu, I would stay far away from the not so OK items, which were very boring, repetitive with flavor if any, and lackluster. Regardless, there are quite an amount of tasty items that are worthy of trying. Check it out and let me know your thoughts!

Yelp
Good food as in the heights area The ambiance is similar but for some reason doesn't feel as hype as the heights They have lots of parking in the back if you drive a bit further. There are signs that label Loro parking

Yelp
Wow!!! My friend and I try to go to a new restaurant every month and we have had this on our list of places to check out for a few months and finally got around to checking it out. We loved it! A coworker of his joined us and we all ordered several different items to try more of the menu and they all were spectacular! I only remembered to snap a picture of three of the 10 items we ordered lol. Inside and outside seating with a laid back vibe that's great for small or large parties.

Yelp
Loro is always a great spot for a chill but high quality lunch or casual dinner: Tried out their new spot on Kirby which I'm super excited about working in the med center. I used their very generous $25 gift card to try them out during their soft opening. Same concept as heights location -- initial order at counter then can add on at the table. They definitely pull this style off well. Plenty of staff to help out to reduce having to get up multiple times. Also nice set up if your time is limited - no waiting for a check. Food wise -- we loved the queso, tostada, corn. The salad balance was a little off. Pork belly a little dry/overcooked. Sauce was great though. Look forward to trying more as they get further away from the initial opening. Service - 100% Parking - lot towards the back of the building - possibly street parking in the area Overall - can't go wrong. Nice addition to the rice village lunch vibes.

Yelp
Went for their soft opening and it was a great experience! The brisket was tasty and tender with a delicious sauce. The crispy potatoes were also yummy, but I felt like they needed a creamy sauce to pair with. The chocolate crème brûlée was too sweet for my liking but definitely unique with a spicy kick. The service was great and the staff were extremely friendly. They also gave us the brisket for free since we originally ordered the brisket burger, but since there was a miscommunication they gave it to us on the house. The ambiance is elevated casual, parking is limited but that's normal for this area.

Thao T.

Yelp
I visited the new Loro location in during their soft opening and was impressed! The ambiance is laid-back and thoughtfully designed, making it a great spot to hang out with friends. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. Service was fantastic, everybody was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. We tried the crispy potatoes, pork ribs, corn fritters, smoked butcher's cut, and chocolate crème brûlée. My standout favorite was the smoked butcher's cut--it had the perfect BBQ flavor, was well-smoked, and was topped with a delightful shishito salsa verde, cilantro, and pickled onion. However, I was a bit disappointed with the corn fritters, as they were a little too salty for my taste. An honorable mention goes to the chocolate crème brûlée, which had an unexpected but enjoyable kick. Just a heads-up: parking might be limited when it's busy, but there are two additional lots in the back. I would love to come back to try other dishes.

Yelp
Passed by here many times. So decided to finally stop by for dinner. Parking is at the end of this long complex adjacent to the yoga studio at the end. There weren't many spaces so I'm curious where folks park when it's busy which it wasn't on a weekday. The queso was a few dollars cheaper during happy hour unbeknownst to us. We got it with the brisket mix in. It was ok. It's not a huge bowl for the price so I'm not sure it was really worth it as there was no wow factor in the taste or presentation. The Thai pork ribs were 3 pieces of mostly bone. Again at that price point I really don't think it's anywhere near worth it as there's nothing special or wow about it. The Japanese curry had a weird after taste for each bite. I really didn't care for it. The brisket mix in didn't help either. It's not very spicy so my kid could try it. But neither of us cared for it. And at $20 a bowl - ouch and wince. The cookie - at $4 a cookie - just not worth it. I like the set up and environment. Staff was nice too. Order as you walk in at the counter. Then seat yourself. Sodas are by self served machine.

Yelp
3.5 stars, First time here, I think I need to give this place another try. Got the new pork belly rice bowl, but it was too sweet for me, didn't expect it. The veggies in the bowl were good tho, but I wish I chose a different bowl. We also got the salmon dip and another dip and they were tasty. The salmon dip was an acquired taste for me, had a slightly weird flavor to it lol. Food came out pretty fast!

Yelp
The pork rice bowl was flavorful and delicious. The sesame noodles and the wontons were the perfect sides. With so many unique options to chose from the menu, will definitely have to go again soon! Perfect way to spend a Saturday lunch :)

Yelp
It's very roomy inside and there are plenty of options on the menu, planning to come back soon since they have a specials on certain days of the week when we first walked in we didn't realize it was an order-sit down restaurant because we were standing there for a bit, the server booth was a little misdirecting but it's all good! all the food was delicious and they even gave me chili oil upon request, we ate a lot of food but I recommend the butchers cut! the meat was very juicy and the salsa verde that they put on top tasted amazing! food comes quick, servers were really nice and cleaning up dishes frequently, and cant wait to try the spicy Japanese curry ramen next time!

Yelp
Loro stole my heart and I am not even a fan of barbecue. A friend and I drove by and decided to give it a try and we are glad that we did. The place is modern and spacious and has a huge out door seating area . Very laid back and casual. Waitstaff is very attentive, nice and professional. It was so good, I went twice with two different friends and both times I sat at the bar. We did shared plates and everthing is so delicious and the flavors pop in your mouth. The crispy chicken sandwich is so full of flavor and the sauce they put on it is a knock out. The pork belly is so satisfying. The shishito queso is really good. I had the wedge salad both times I came here. I can't get enough of it. The blue cheese dressing is so yummy. My only gripe is that the Romain lettuce is so tight and dense (it's like it is baby Romain lettuce that has not matured and is very hard to cut). Order extra blue cheese dressing, you will want more. The corn fitters are yummy and you are going to want more dipping sauce because it is not enough if you're sharing. Don't skip the desserts The chocolate crème brûlée is heaven and the chocolate chip cookie was moist and yummy. The drinks are awesome here. This is the place for a frozen margarita because you can taste all the fresh ingredients (is not made from a pre mix). They have frozen Gin and Tonics but it was not for me. I will definitely be back with more friends.

Yelp
Was super excited to see them build a new location! Tons of parking and even outdoor seating. It's really cute inside and was not too crowded seating wise. I ordered the Crispy Thai Pork Ribs (Although $15.25 for how small the portion was is criminal). The flavor of the sauce was absolutely delicious and messy (please get extra napkins). But most of the meat was tough while one rib was nearly all fat. Not what you exactly hope for at a smokehouse. The Charred Broccolini had good flavor as well but I was shocked when I saw it was such a small portion for $8. Our table received a Crunchy Cabbage Salad to try. I think it was a decent size and would pair very nicely with the meats as the salad had a light refreshing taste. Lastly I tried a non alcoholic Frozen Hot Chocolate. It was alright kinda had a weird taste to it. Overall not the best meal and definitely left hungry. I did see a lot I was interested in on the menu so I might give it another shot in the future!

Yelp
Probably one of my favorite happy hour locations ever! I have celiac (strict gluten-free), and I'm vegetarian, and they have a few friendly options. I usually am having a good time, and forget to take pictures of the food. For happy hour, they have $5 boozy slushies, as well as a few other simple, but good cocktails. My two favorite drinks here are the frozen pina horchata (which admittedly is less horchata, and more pina colada), and the yuzu spritz. Regarding food, I have enjoyed the grilled edamame, which is delicious, and covered with a bit of spice/lemony exterior. They also have one of the best cabbage salads I've had, which I didn't know I could enjoy until I came here. Their sesame rice noodles are also a nice refreshing dish. The location is very large, with plentiful outdoor and indoor seating, with order-at-counter style. For dietary restrictions, they have a book at the front, which you can ask for details about menu items. It seems great for groups of any size! The only thing I really wish would improve about here is that they don't have a vegetarian gluten-free main entree besides salads. I really wish their szechuan tofu dish might have an alternate option that were celiac-friendly. Overall, love this place and plan to continue coming here!

Yelp
Holy crap! Talk about a punch of delicious flavors to the mouth. We did a "sampler" of a few different apps/sides to try different items from the menu and so glad that we did. We loved every bite. If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out. Definitely add it to your foodie bucket list. Also, did we mention they have Coors Banquet beer in draft? Yup. You are welcome. ENJOY!

Yelp
So glad they opened up a new location. The staff are super welcoming and friendly, and they suggested some menu items for our party to try. The salmon dip with one chips was very flavorful and something that I've never had before. We sat in the outdoor seating since the weather has been cooling down and the space that they have is perfect.

Yelp
Last night we visited Loro's new Kirby location for dinner with friends. When we walked up, the restaurant was packed but we only waited 20 minutes or so before we were seated on the patio. The evening was cool, so the patio was perfect. After perusing the menu via QR code, we ordered at the bar. Between us, we tried the corn fritters, broccolini, and potatoes alongside our individual meals. I had the grilled steak rice bowl which was very tasty. The coconut rice, pickled vegetables, and fresh Thai basil and mint were very flavorful. I'd recommend getting a side or 2 to share because the portions are on the smaller side. The experience was great and I would describe the restaurant as elevated fast casual due the self-service component for ordering, drinks, and takeaway.

Yelp
Pretty similar to the heights location! I got their pulled pork tostada during HH - a bit salty but generous portion of pork. The edamame was delicious. My friends ordered HH drinks (mango sake) which were very tasty! Parking was decent for the area. Overall, decent place for a casual happy hour.

Yelp
I'm a fan of the Loro in Austin and the Loro in the Houston Heights, and this new Loro on Kirby (close to Rice Village) is no exception--it's great! It just recently opened, and I met up with a friend there for lunch. I had my favorite menu item, the Malaysian curry chicken bowl, which is just SO good. Though I'd highly recommend going with a big group so that you can order a bunch of items and try it all. It's counter service--you order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. Service was great, and the restaurant has a casual vibe and big outdoor patio--it could be a good family-friendly spot too. One small plug--I would LOVE it if Loro brought back the kettle corn with burnt ends dish that I've had at another location a long while back. Incredible flavor combination.

Yelp
Tasty food, fantastic ambiance/design/decor, and friendly service. I visited for the soft opening of this location and was pleasantly surprised. My previous visits at the Heights location left me feeling disappointed given the caliber of the chefs collaborating on this restaurant (Chefs of Uchi and Franklin's BBQ). The food this time was flavorful, unique, and paired well. The Butcher's Cut, which is a piece of steak (I believe I was told it was the teres major) was smokey like bbq and paired well with the shishito peppers. Pulled pork sandwich from the lunch special was delicious - moist pork with a sweet, sour, tangy coleslaw. The Texas Sweet Corn was incredibly sweet and had a nice crunch from bits of fried dough. Sesame Rice Noodles were a great side to pair with the rest of the food. Highlight of my meal was the chocolate chip cookie, which was chocolatey and chewy with a nice hint of salt and toffee. Portions are on the smaller side for the price except for the lunch special ($15 for a sandwich and side). A great date night or hangout spot with friends. There are plenty of outdoor seating too that are shaded and with mist sprayers. I can definitely envision having a group outing here too, like birthdays. Looking forward to everything that comes next here!

Yelp
It's hard to describe how well this place does at everything. From service, food, decor, all of it. The food is amazing. I recommend trying the brisket, served after 4pm.

Yelp
Great spot, iffy parking if it get busy. Not a lot of parking around. Service was great. Went to their soft opening and was able to try almost everything's top favorites: chilled ginger noodle salad, pork belly, corn, broccolini, curry chicken, crispy potatoes. Thank you Loro!

Yelp
Great happy hour menu that I have noticed is different from Austin locations which is what I've been to! The two pony trick (a mini champagne beer Miller and mini slushee) for $5 is great and super cute! Love the queso, wings, and tostadas - all super flavorful and affordable for the quantity. Was full after having the three.

Yelp
Been to the Dallas location and one in the heights, loved this location as well. Got the burger, smoked queso, and pork belly rice bowl. The burger and rice bowl was tasty as usual. The queso was okay, not very flavorful and portion size was really small.

Yelp
We got Loro for takeout last night and it was great! Our items: Sesame noodles: nice, cool, refreshing. Nothing insane, but it's not really supposed to be. Really liked them and will order again Char Siew pork belly: good, tender, juicy, and I love the house made pickles! Smoked wings: this was my only miss. I'm that person that orders wings every time they're on the menu. The flavor of the sauce was good and the skin was nice and crispy. They were extremely salty though and I had to give up. Hoping that was a one-off though, because the flavor was awesome other than the salt! Double Smashburger: I love you. This is what I want in a smash every single time. I woke up thinking about it this morning. Honestly I'll probably get it for dinner again tonight. 10/10 don't think just buy it. All in all great meal! Only dropping a star because the wings were a downer for me. But I'd give my first born for that burger, so I guess it all evens out.

Yelp
The family had eaten at Loro in Austin and we loved it. We had to visit after we learned that a Loro had opened in Rice Village area. Our party of three went for happy hour and ordered family style. We ate chicken wings, salmon dip with fried wonton chip, pulled pork queso with tortilla chips, babyback ribs, fried corn fritters, and spicy glass noodles. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. All tasted just as good as Austin and we enjoyed every dish. Our happy hour alcohols were great. Service was very friendly and attentive. The interior was roomy with plenty of windows for sunlight. There was also a very attractive outdoor dining area. Prices were very acceptable for the high quality foods, drinks, and service. We will definitely return.

Yelp
Food was amazing! We tried a variety of plates and thoroughly enjoyed all of them, we also tried the flight of boozy slushes and LOVEEE them. Service was great and very prompt, everything was very clear and easy when it came to ordering. Absolutely wonderful atmosphere really an overall 10/10 experience.

Yelp
Absolutely love this location! I've been to the Heights location and this new location is just as amazing! All of the staff were very friendly and the food came out so fast. I love the atmosphere here and there's a cute little place for the kids to play! My favorite thing here are the sesame chili rice noodles, crunchy cabbage salad with the Malaysian curry chicken, and the oak grilled edamame! Definitely recommend trying this place!
