Los Agaves

Stopped by this evening and enjoyed a delicious meal as Los Agaves. We started with chips and salsa. The green salsa was my favorite. We then shared the Los Agave salad which was a 10/10. My entree the halibut tacos was a little bland but I like the cabbage and fresh mango that was ok it. The Mexican rice was delish. Hubby had the steak tacos. He gave it a 10/10. The ambience and service was great. Wait time for delicious food was surprisingly short at 15mins. Note they do not take reservations so plan accordingly. I will definitely be back.

Wonderful mexican restaurant with an old town feel, menu full of delicious choices and lots of options to include vegetarian ones. I ordered chiles poblano campastre. the salsa bar has daily fresh made options varying in spice and taste. Soda fountain options along with traditional drinks like horchata. Only thing I would say is I wish they would close the doors, the front and back door opened caused a draft inside the restaurant making it colder.

We saw the review award in "The Santa Barbara Independent" (picture) and decided to give it a try. Our lunch was overshadowed by observing a major service blunder. A male employee brought some chips to the table of the person next to ours. The wheelchair bound person asked the employee if he could also bring the salsa dip for the chips. The person said, "Yes." Several minutes later, the salsa never showed up. One of us went to the counter and asked if salsa could be brought to the table. The employee who had said "Yes" was pointed out. We received a very rude response from the female, even after explaining the customer, in the adjoining room was in a wheelchair and the male employee said he would. Her reply, "He is suppose to get it himself." Not too impressive! If someone says he/she will do something, then "Just Do It!"

Some of the best Mexican food in Santa Barbara County! Amazing salsa! I always eat here when I am back in town Short Rib tacos are out of this world!

These people used to be able to handle a dinner rush, it was impressive. Not anymore though. Food takes 45+ minutes, dishes come out 10+ minutes apart. Nobody helps find a table. Waiting in line at the salsa bar for 15 minutes. Absolutely horrible experience. I've been coming here since the first week the Milpas location opened. ...Our food just came, 45 minutes after ordering, half our food is cold. Too bad. I get it this place is popular, but part of what made it good is that they could handle it, and they just can't anymore.

Had a great lunch here, food was delicious and well prepared and the service was fast and friendly. Was looking for a place for lunch and we saw how packed it was as we drove by so we decided to try it. Service was friendly and made great recommendations. We had seafood tacos and the tropical seviche. The tacos were fantastic, breaded and fried fish and shrimp were delicious and the toppings/sauce were right on. I had not had tropical seviche before, and it was awesome! Made with whole shrimp and octopus it had a very... well duh... tropical flavor to it with nice pineapple taste and very different than traditional seviche I have had. The portions were also generous for the price.

The place was busy with locals which is always a good sign. They have plenty of seats inside and outside. The service was quick, with order at the cashier and service at the table. The food was great and super flavorful! The portions were not too small or too large. They have a self serve area with various salsa and pickles in the back.

We love coming to Los Agaves. The food is delicious and there are seating options both inside and out. Once they get through their construction, the atmosphere will be back up to a 5-star level.
