Los Altos Review - Little Havana - Miami - The Infatuation

"To get to Los Altos, you have to walk to the second floor of a taco restaurant and enter through a secret door in a little Mexican candy shop (there will be a security guard to point you in the right direction). Once inside, you’ll find yourself in a relatively small room with neon lights that kind of looks like a place John Wick might get into a fight. There are a lot of seating options, a DJ booth, and a long bar that serves pretty good cocktails. It’s definitely more mainstream here, with a pop soundtrack that has a 75% chance of including some remixed version of “Moves Like Jagger,” but it’s still your best bet for a club in Little Havana." - Ryan Pfeffer

Ordered 3 tacos for $27 dollars, I got mini tacos with barely meat, not even close to the pictures I saw, no sauce or anything and just one little piece of lime. Crazy that I spent 27 bucks + uber fees for this

Google
We came to the Mexican restaurant for the speakeasy at 10:45pm and both the Mexican restaurant and the speakeasy were closed. The girl wouldn't even open the door to answer my questions, no idea what's up with the speakeasy. Was really excited for it

Google
Celebrated my husband's birthday in this very cool bar/nightclub. We were a group of 20 and the service was amazing. Very reasonable price for the bottle service and the music was great. Truly a gem in Miami were everything is so overpriced.

Google
A cool experience and fun time at Los Altos. Without giving too much away, this is a speakeasy type lounge operated by the same owners as Ball&Chain, so your promised to have a good time. The djs are great, craft cocktails are delicious and can range from $14-$16. They've got beer, wine, and bottle service. Everything about this place is pretty cool and the staff is very friendly. Even the bathrooms are cute! It can get super crowded and hot so if you don't like that then I recommend you go earlier or on a week day. There's a taqueria downstairs with some awesome food and they've been there since the 80's, a great spot to grab some food after a night of jamming out. Our family from Chicago really liked it and as my first time I really enjoyed it! I'll be back for sure!

Google
Finally made it to this place... and it was the worth the wait. Highly recommend plus we got there early enough to enjoy 2 for 1 margaritas! The ambience is unmatched in Miami!

Google
The environment to this restaurant is true Mexican. The feel of the outdoor seating area, combined with the ambient mariachi music, down to the outfits the servers created a true sense of authenticity. The food is equally as authentic. I may have quite possibly had the best Steak Quesadilla I’ve ever had. The quality of the meat and craftsmanship that went into the food was of the highest caliber per the more than affordable price. The reason for the 4/5 stars was due to the fact that the service was sub-par. While dining during corona virus may be at play, unfortunately our server did not pay close attention to detail (brining more water, salsa etc, even upon request, and waiting a long period of time after asking for the check). Overall, I’m going back, bringing friends and would recommend!

Google
Super cool bar. I love that you enter it through a secret wall inside a candy store full of authentic Mexican candy. Once upstairs they have lively music, drinks and Sugar Skulls for you to put on for a cool IG picture. Definitely worth checking out this gem whenever you are in Miami.

Google
The restaurant downstairs has good food and good margaritas. The bar upstairs is really fun! Drinks are great and music is good too. A good spot for a fun time!

Yelp
What a cool/cute place! I loved everything: 1. Cute candy store where you give the password to gain entry 2. Delicious tacos, chips & salsa & my favorite - the empanadas which were so crispy (maybe they were wrapped in wonton wrappers?) 3. Delicious Margaritas (I had mine with a splash of their Davinci orange liquor, recommended by the bartender 4. Dj with dance & house music 5. Nice vibe, cool bar area & comfy couches. This place would be great for a birthday celebration or just to have fun with a group of friends. Street parking on 8th Street

Yelp
I love this place great vibes! You say the secret password for the day and enter into a different room like a little club/lounge area. They have a dj some seating area and a full bar . Drinks are yummy . Had a great time!

Yelp
So Los Altos is an upstairs Mexican speakeasy / there a Mexican restaurant below but I'll review that separate. The spot was very chill , music playing , great lighting dim red and the drinks were so good! A nice little intimate spot loved it and may go again. Our server that made our drinks was exceptionally nice!

Yelp
The ambiance and drinks were great--so were some of the bartenders. However this Friday 8/23/2024 was not good only because of the DJ who didn't care that the wedding party was requesting to change the music. DJ said he "don't give a f--!" Los Altos should never hire these DJs again!

Kathleen W.

Yelp
Came on a Friday night to celebrate my elopement with family and friends. Had been once before, they played great music that night and decided it would be a great place for dancing with a big group for our little celebration. To my disappointment, I discovered that Friday night was "house" music night. (Which on their social media is only announced as their "Clandestino Friday"). We asked the manager if the music would change before we ordered bottles and she said it would if we ask the DJ so we went ahead and ordered. Almost everyone in the group had asked the DJ to change the music to no avail. And because we were finishing up the bottles, I felt trapped in a place where the music was a real bummer. You would think a Mexican themed speakeasy on Calle Ocho would play more Latin party music, but I guess not. Didn't have the great time I had hoped to have. Oh well ‍

Alejandra A.

Yelp
HORRIBLE! I am currently here right now and I couldn't WAIT to write a bad review. This is MIAMI FL and we brought VERY LARGE (more than half of all the attendees here) group to the Speakeasy bar and they played ATROCIOUS music. We asked several times please change, as we were celebrating a wedding and they are refusing to cater to 90% of the current clientele. The DJ told us to go f**k ourselves when we asked to please change music. I DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL PLEASE AVOID.

Yelp
As a miami local I am so thrilled to have Los Altos back! In our friend group, Los Altos is our go-to spot when we want good vibes, good food, and want to dance. We went last night and the service was amazing as always. Camilo, one of the bartenders, was so kind and had us in awe with his bartending skills-- the making of the drinks and the taste of the drinks! We had such a great time and can't wait to be back soon!

Benjamin S.

Yelp
What a VIBE! Hidden speakeasy candy shop entrance. Just what we wanted. DJ was on point and the ambiance was killer. Lighting and decor was perfect. Good crowd but not packed like sardines. Strong, flavorful drinks. This is a can't miss spot.

Yelp
Very cool spot! They have craft cocktails (with some leaning towards the tiki side). I didnt love the drink menu (a lot of crazy flavors for you adventurous types ), so the bartender made me a drink off the menu based on the spirit and taste profile i was looking for- it was delicious, thank you for accomodating! Aside from that, they were playing great music, and had cool furniture with several seating areas. It is a Speakeasy vibe with a password to enter and whatnot. We went on a Thursday night right after dinner (9ish) and it was pretty empty, but the music gave it a nice loungy vibe. I really enjoyed it here!

Yelp
What a great place! I had heard great things about it and have been wanting to go. I was told that lines get long and is difficult some times to go in. Then Covid happened and they closed for a bit. My sister came to visit and I finally got to go about two weeks ago on a Thursday and it was their opening night. We were greeted by a friendly security guard at the door who took our temperatures and then escorted us up the stairs to the lounge. The stairs take to a Mexican candy store that has hanging piñatas, assorted candies and even Mexican Wrestling masks. Once you go thru the store, you get to the lounge. Super cool! The lounge is not huge but the right size. There were not many ppl there but that was perfect for us to keep our covid distance. We took advantage of the happy hour and tried some of their delicious drinks. The service was also great. Our bartender made drinks suggestions, talked to us for a while and was very attentive. I will definitely go back.

Yelp
This is an overdue review from precovid times. I had been wanting to Los Altos for a while because everyone was talking about it. Coming in was the coolest thing, since you need a password and also know where to go. Upon arriving, the place was not super packed but still had enough people to have that "wow, this is the it place" vibe. Music was normal, not the greatest but not bad. However, there was no place to enjoy the music by dancing.Drinks were your normal drinks, nothing special with miami prices. Towards the end of the night the place got too packed that everything was just a mission and took a long time (getting a drink, going to the bathroom, etc.).

Yelp
Los Altos has been on my list since it has open! Speakeasy type bar, located on top of a Mexican restaurant. We went on a Saturday night, around 11:15. Thank god we got there at that time because literally 2 minutes later the line was growing quickly! It was insane. I don't want to take from any surprises so I'll just mention a couple of things I experienced. The bar was relatively full, but we were still able to move around a bit. Everyone was trying to make their way to the bar, making that section the most packed, as expected. We were able to get drinks quick, but our bartender was extremely rude. She got upset that my group (4 of us) wanted four different specialty cocktails. When we told her she rolled her eyes. Then when she finished the drinks (so I thought) I passed my friend hers, and the bar tender got upset. She threw her hands up at us and yelled "I guess you don't want straws then!!" Not to mention, this same bartender got into an altercation with a customer in the bathroom. She did not get her way, so she proceeded by calling the manager and bouncer on the girl. It was chaotic, and clearly this girl is serious trouble. Really took from my experience. Lastly, music was another big factor on why I left early. Music would be really good, then really bad, and start all over again. Not against returning, hopefully it will be a better experience.

Yelp
Los Altos.. what whatttt! That's my impression when I heard about a Mexican speakeasy! What a super cool concept. My first experience here was for a friends birthday a group of 12 and it was perfect! You walk up a set of stairs into a candy store! Say your password, sing a tune and they take you into the bar/lounge! Nice and dark with a red light theme. Behind the bar has a nice view of downtown Miami as well. All the servers were very nice and attentive. Drinks here are great, but be prepared to spend some money because nothing here is cheap. They also have little bites, so don't come hungry. They have section section seating and plenty of room to dance. The music here is great. You'll have a great time here.

Yelp
What a cool place Came here for a friends birthday. It was planned by another friend and she told me it was a speak easy located on 8 street. Ok ok sold. We got there and a very nice body guard greeted us. That guy was so nice and playful. Not only to me but to everyone. Honestly a pleasure. He kept up with the whole speak easy charade. When you arrive it looks like a very authentic taqueria. When we got there, there were mariachis outside singing. Super cool. Then the bodyguard lets you upstairs to the candy store to buy candy. The woman in the top tells us that the candy store was about to close. We tell her we aren't hungry. Just very THIRSTY for some tequila. So they guided us to a back area that was HUGE!!! very beautifully Mexican decorated lounge. I loved it. Barbie was our server and she was outstanding. Was helpful and on top of our order the whole time. She really went the extra mile. Only negative was that it was a pricey night. Other than that it's a great place. Loved it.

Yelp
Visit:1st Food quesadilla steak- kind of dried and didnt come with sour cream or pica de gallo on the side They have a small bar menu but downstairs is a Mexican restaurant with a larger variety Atmosphere: the entrance is amazing, they take you upstairs to what seems to be a little store but if you say the password they open up the wall and let you in to the bar! Its very dark and full of amazing mexican mask (perfect for Ig pics) at first it was empty because happy hour just started so the vibe was more relaxed and not the best music, at 10 the DJ starts but doesnt start playing good music until about 2ish which it gets super packed Staff: they were nice but a bit slow Tips: make sure you right down what you order if youre in a group, get a table ($600 for the big ones this includes food and $300 for the smaller ones) Return: i might!

Yelp
What a secretly amazing lounge ! I truly love the concept and the hidden entrance to get inside. There's no coverage fee for neither the ladies or the guys (definitely a plus). They have specialty cocktailsI that range between $13 to $15. Parking: if you get there early, you can do street parking for $1.75 an hour . They also have valet for $10 until 2a.m. The bouncer downstairs (Mr. Fresh) is amazing and very down-to-earth. To be honest ,the most professional bouncer I have ever encounter.

Yelp
Hidden lounge inside a small taco shop en la Calle Ocho where you can eat Mexican food and then walk upstairs to party after passing through the candy shop where you will be asked for the secrete password in order to get into the lounge. There is all sorts of traditional Mexican candy, so definitely stock up. There is a DJ playing a variety of genres (mainly hip hop and reggaeton), full bar with delicious cocktails (I prefer them a little stronger but none the less the ingredients are good quality), and masks you can take pictures with. The interior has a spooky feel to it and decorated with "El Día De Los Muertos" items (crosses, corps, medieval furniture and wall decor). Definitely a place to party with a group of friends. Usually gets pretty lit around 11ish. - Cool concept and interior design - Good to party with friends - Well made cocktails

Yelp
I have heard abt this spot for ages on 8th street. It is a speak easy very easy to get it. You can be dressed same standards as wynwood not sobe. The place was so interesting ! I loved it. The drinks were nicely done good music. Good spot to come with friends. We celebrated a friends bday here. I want to come back for the food downstairs looked yum also ! Overall good place to dance even later on at night. Fun spot definitely coming back again.

Yelp
I went to the food truck at carousel club in Hallandale beach. Service was good and attentive but the food was not. The al pastor missed entirely. It lacked flavor and pineapples. Pineapples are essential to al pastor tacos. The carne asada also lacked flavor. The sauce it came with almost saved the taco but overall not a good carne asada taco.

Yelp
The most authentic Mexican cuisine in Miami! The service is awesome! Super clean! Fernanda was truly amazing, so kind and serviceable. She informed us of all the weekly specials, happy hour etc. A must try! Thank you Fernanda! We will definitely be back
google avatar

Luis C.

Yelp
Worst customer service ever. Literally we were drinking all night, with a tab that was way more expensive than a "bottle" and they literally took a table from us for someone who bought 1 bottle. Idk, but for me customer service goes first, over quick gains. First and last time that I come to this place.
google avatar

Yelp
5 stars for this speakeasy. Not only are their margaritas for ladies night amazing, their food is pretty good! After downing some comp margaritas we needed something to keep burning the "midnight oil" lol I was impressed at how fresh their guac and quesadillas are. You are not eating bar food here, you are having authentic Mexican fare from their restaurant downstairs. The menu is limited. I came here on a Thursday and a Saturday night. The vibe is completely different on both nights. Thursday more lounge-y with the lady margaritas and sparkling wine special. You can find a seat, relax with your cocktails and enjoy a bite. Saturday night is more standing room only dance party. Each fun. Definitely go check them out on a night out in vibrant Calle Ocho. Remember the magic word at the door!

Yelp
Really interesting and authentically decorated restaurant. We sat at the bar, great service, ice cold cervezas and fresh warm chips. I ordered a tamale it was okay but the real winner here is the ambiance and the story with this restaurant. I was told there's a nightclub upstairs! What? That sounds so cool, open until three am

Yelp
This place is the perfect little known hideaway for a good drink and some good music! PLACE: Located in Little Havana, right before I-95 on 8th street. This place is located above a taco place so you can eat and then go upstairs to the lounge area. But if you don't know about this place then you won't know how to get in. The best way to describe it is like a Mexican speakeasy. They have a Mexican candy shop right before you get in and when you go in, it's not what you expect. The theme of this bar is sort of like Day of the Dead. DRINKS: This place has a bar as soon as you go in to your right which serves really good cocktails for a good price considering how big the drinks are. Most of the cocktails do contain tequila, since it is a Mexican bar, but they have some with vodka as well. I went with my sister and we had the SRA Guava and Unforgetable as our cocktails and they were so yummy! MUSIC: This place plays all type of music, but they usually start with EDM music and then they play some contemporary and some hispanic music which is great! You can dance to some of the music so I love going for that. ATMOSPHERE: This is a great place to go if you want to chill out and have some good drinks and listen to cool music. Like I said before, their theme is like Day of the Dead, so they have some flamenco-is type dancers that come out with face paint of Day of the Dead and they dance around which is cool. They also have tons of seating available from couches and small tables to smaller more intimate areas without having to order bottle service, which is a great plus! OVERALL: I would definitely come back and would even suggest this place to people that are visiting because its something cool and not something you see all time. What I love about Miami is always discovering places like this that are hidden gems.

Yelp
This whole situation is just strange to me. You got on 8th street by the roads and across my most entertaining liquor store (gato tuerto) a club that acts like they are in L.A. only you have to wait in line on the side walk of shady 8th street - with a door guy yelling at you for saying hi to friends before heading to the back of the line. They were at capacity so only let people in every time some left. I did not even want to go in anymore because a line means it's packed inside. After waiting 20min we got in. You walk up to the stairs standing in a candy store, a lady asking you if you want tequila only she doesn't have any. Like, open the door already to let us in please, it is not L.A. and you offer drinks you don't have... tip: if you'd sell shots to people before getting in there, it'd be a gold mine. Selling air, not so much:) She finally opens the door, We enter a club that feels like it's over capacity, just as expected. We stayed the full 5 minutes. The 2 stars are for great ambiance, everyone was dancing and having a blast for the square foot of space they had. Interior reminds me of Mokai or Mynt, but Mexican style. I'm sure I'd go back for a good time but I will have to wait until also this hype dies out a bit and it's less packed. Until then, get your drink on before going as getting to the bar is a quest. To exit you have to walk to the other end, it comes out in an outside patio and then you walk out to the street.

Yelp
I found this place recently, a really cool bar at the top of a Mexican restaurant. I was there on a Friday around 8pm. Look for the "bouncer" at the entrance so he can open the door for you to go upstairs. You will arrive at a candy shop with a lady pretending there is nothing else to see. She will help you to say the "secret" word and then she would open the door for you. The place is small but nicely decorated with skulls and chandeliers. The menu has several mezcal options and for happy hour they have 2X1 margaritas. We ordered a coconut drink with mezcal, it was OK but we asked the bartender to add a little more lime and that made it better. It wasn't too crowded since it was early but there were a lot of servers and bartenders. We started at the bar and then moved to a table and a server would come around constantly to ensure we were doing OK. People start to come in around 10pm and sometimes there is even a line to get in. There is also a patio outside with tables and lights, not sure if people go out there to smoke but when we were coming down one of the staff members told us they were working on improving the outside area. Really cool concept, I would like to go back on a Saturday night!

Yelp
Born and raised in Miami it's nice to see the city grow it's nightlife. We need more places like Los Altos. The team put some creativity into their design, and experience. You start by getting your id checked downstairs by a bouncer, at the door in front of the taco spot (that's been there forever and has always had great Mexican food). Then you're guided upstairs to a "candy shop." From there you'll proceed into a beautifully thought out bar with entertainment, craft cocktails and soon a fully loaded outdoor patio in the back of the establishment (downstairs). It's already there, and it'll soon be your newest outdoor patio bar hang out. I can't recommend anything specific here because anything you purchase comes correctly prepared. If you're celebrating an occasion, I do suggest you get a reserved table. There's limited sitting space and reserving a booth is a good way to secure a seating area for your group.

Yelp
I heard about Los Altos from a friend when it first opened up around December. Since then it's been in my bucket list for months! Fast forward to a Friday night after work. I got a cute outfit on and I'm itching to venture into a new place! I decide to give Los Altos a shot and test out what the rave was all about... When I get to the location it's not as inconspicuous as I thought, but it's definitely a hidden gem. Out front next to the security there is a Mexican band playing so while you wait to enter, you get some live entertainment... Not to give away too much of what to expect, the place has extremely nice decor, fun front desk staff before you get in & yummy drinks (although a bit pricey for what I got, next time I'll get something else). A must try for anyone in the Miami area! Password changed so it's not tequila anymore...

Yelp
Love the speakeasy. Nicely done with decorations, super chill spot. I would probably come more for happier hour or lady's night. The drinks are a bit pricey. A simple beer is 10$ but hey they gotta pay the rent. Other then the price the location is dope. Second floor vibes with a big a bar and lounge area. Seats and small booths are available. DJ plays a mix of songs and genres. I wish they would of played more Spanish music to go with the theme of Hispanic, because no one was dancing. Unless they had a good amount of drinks in them but definitely ganna be a secret place I'll be coming back too. Side note very dimmed lighting.

Yelp
This is a lil gem in little Havana. It you walk to fast you might miss it. There a door next to the Taqueria and that's your entrance. Go up the stairs and you walk into a small candy shop. Don't be deceived, your in the right place. Say the secret word and your into the coolest bar in Miami! Ladies night is on Thursday nights totally worth it. Ladies drink free Margaritas or Champagne for a couple hours. Eat downstairs at the Taqueria before because food here is expensive and very small portions. I ordered a quesadilla for $12 and got half a quesadilla. Ladies night tip ur waitress and you get far more attention. Drink we're strong and plentiful! This is more of an experience than anything else. Four stars because it's cool, eclectic Mexican deco and just different than everything else in Miami. Good vibe, great music and DJ! Will come back for the experience!

Yelp
Great spot folks!!!!!! I didn't know this place. I was looking where to spend my birthday and my brother just told me about this place where he said it is a clandestine secret place so, I found it interesting. It is located next a Mexican restaurant, a simple door where you go upstairs and you need to say a password. After this, you enter to the place where it is really cool and decorations are really nice. Mexican style guys!!!! They have ladies night Thursdays until 10pm so you girls can have some margaritas or champagne. They open, Thursday, until 1am so o recommend you to be there at least 9pm to enjoy!!! You will thank me later
google avatar

Yelp
Fun speakeasy in Little Havana owned by the same owners as Ball and Chain. We came early (9 pm), so the place was pretty empty, but the speakeasy vibes were fun. The bartenders were very friendly and the cocktails were good, but I didn't like the location (it isn't the part of calle ocho close to other restaurants and bars, so you likely need to uber here). Worth visiting!
google avatar

Liliana L.

Yelp
This is a little hidden club upstairs. Mexico.... viva Mexico Very creative in taking you in the club. First you go the the tiny candy store then to the club. The club it self is very narrow and small. Great music. Expensive drinks. Overall it's a new place to check out and enjoy with your friends. You can also buy candy from Mexico..

Yelp
This is a fun place to go dancing and to eat but the bartenders like to STEAL from the customers. They have this gimmick where they charge their friends' drinks on other people's tabs, hoping you don't notice. This happened to my friends and I. When we confronted the bartender who was serving us (Jodi) about it and asked for an itemized check, he gave It to us, went to the back and never came back out. He sent other bartenders to "handle" the situation which only led to things getting out of hand. I've seen the reviews on different platforms and every time someone has a bad experience about the attitude of a bartender it's the same boy - scrawny, tan skinned, hipster looking with black glasses. When asked to clarify the situation, this boy spoke to us in an arrogant manner, as if we had no right to question a $200 tab for 6 drinks. He accused us of being drunk (we only had 2 drinks each) and he kept yelling that we were liars. Finally the manager stepped in and settled the situation and we paid the correct tab and it included a tip which was scratched off and the manager was told that we would not be paying for the tip, just the drinks. Days later, the bank statement reflected almost double the amount that we paid! It's so frustrating that this is happening and I blame management bcus clearly this boy has been a problem for a while and they keep him there to continue to steal from the customers. Im not sure how management let this happen seeing how bartenders are suppose to turn in their receipts at the end of the night, so either the bartenders went back and changed the amount or management did. We are currently disputing this matter and we hope it gets resolved without any further legal action. In case, you aren't sure who I am talking about, his picture is attached. He also rolls with a boy band of another scrawny boy with black curly hair to his shoulders and Jodi.

Yelp
A little pricey but delicious and seem much more authentic than most taco chains. I ordered the Al Pastor tacos (1 for $4) and later split a chicken super burrito ($11). The tortilla chips, delicious. The meat, so tender and juicy (no pun intended). The chips and salsa dips were included and *smack my lips* perfect. Best dip in Miami, verde (spicy after taste so be cautious) and salsa. I will definitely return to this establishment. The upstairs was a speak easy, Very dim lit bar (it actually reminded me of a yuppy bar in NYC). The drinks were also pricey at $20 each, but delicious (I sipped off of my friends drink bc I was luckily happy at the state I was in). All in all, this establishment is definitely worth visiting despite the somewhat "health-concerning" facade.

Yelp
I love this spot! Celebrated my birthday with my family and friends and the music was the best. What I enjoyed the most was the secret entrance to the upstairs bar/club. Along with the Mexican restaurant downstairs. The only thing I found upsetting were the prices for the drinks. The overall experience was great, I would definitely be visiting again!

Yelp
I have to start by saying that this place is sooo well done. The decor and vibes are all perfect for a good night out, and the concept is so fresh for Miami. I give it 2 stars because we went on a Saturday and the DJ really sucked. If you like 80s music all night then maybe you'll love it but we waited for hours to see if the mix changed and nothing. No current music, Latin, or r&b!! We've gone before on a Thursday and the music was bomb! No sure why they wouldn't have the better DJ play on Saturdays. I hope they fix this soon cuz it's such a cute spot and worth a try!

Yelp
The club sits above their restaurant. The club/bar is small but the music is good and the place is decorated with skull masks that everyone can put on. I'm giving this place one star for one reason.. they had a live donkey tied up to the door of their club and this trumped all the good this place could offer. Actions like this are unacceptable. The rope which was used to tie the donkey was no more than 2 feet long. It barely had room to take a step. It started pouring 10 minutes after I took this picture. Where do you think they put the donkey? Inside the restaurant? Inside the club? It's one thing for livestock or farm animals to be outside in the rain when they're in their proper environment (farm) or wherever their home may be, but not on Calle Ocho with a bunch of drunk hands touching them.

Yelp
Had an exceptional multi-faceted time at this place on a Sat night. Went with a group of friends- 6 of us in total. We started out in the restaurant with Margaritas and a shot of tequila and some delicious food. I got beef tacos - they were on a small (6 in or so) soft tortilla. If I recall (sorry, my memory is a bit cloudy) you buy tacos and other selections on the menu individually- so, for example you could buy as many single tacos as you want. I got two and the quality of the beef was excellent- moist and tasty. They're not huge- I could've probably eaten a couple more but great nonetheless! We had such a great time, great food, and a super friendly server!! But this was just the beginning!!!!.... THEN- we went outside to the stairwell on the right of the entrance. Apparently we made a reservation for a VIP section which ended up being a perfect choice. We were at the top of the stairs in a small room that looked almost like a little gift shop. Someone greeted us and after a quick intro someone yells out tequila and a door opens- next thing we know we've entered an awesome cozy warmly lit club with great music! Sounded like 80s which was even appealing to my 37 yr old Stepdaughter. We bought a bottle of tequila (not sure what that cost as I picked up dinner)- but I think it was reasonable. I heard bottles are $125 but not sure about what we had. In any case, it was great to have a space to ourselves with seating because by midnight the place was packed. There were people dressed up in costumes that you could take selfies with. I LOVED this place and we all had such a phenomenal time. Thank you!! Would love to meet the owners and thank them in person. There's some folks I want to take to this place to provide them a memorable occasion. See you soon!! Check this place out- you won't be disappointed!!

Yelp
Went on a Friday night for a friend's birthday to the "secret" upstairs bar and the place had a really nice vibe. Drink prices are about what you would expect in Miami, not super cheap but reasonable. It was a bit overcrowded but I assume that's because no one wanted to go outside to the patio since it had been raining earlier.

Yelp
this place is SO dope! i had no idea what i was getting into when i was invited by friends to Los Altos. what used to be a seedy, scary bar on the east end of Calle Ocho is now a very cool, all immersive concept. i felt like alice falling down the rabbit hole... if the hole was in mexico & the rabbit came bearing tequila. i didn't have the pleasure of eating here (yet) but the upstairs club did not disappoint! great drinks & service, good music & a definite party vibe. love the decor & the beautiful ladies wandering around & dancing with you while in full day-of-the-dead makeup. such a cool little spot! HIGHLY recommended!

Yelp
The place is really good for entertainment, good music, great vibe. My friends had gone before & it was my first time going. My only advice is beware and really pay attention to your bar tap (ask for your receipt to be Itemized). One of the server was putting items we did not order in our tab, and when asked about it gave us a nasty and condescending response. Everything could've been solved with a simple "sorry a mistake" but instead he got the other bartender involved as well as the security team. The manager came to manage the situation and was even charging us for less than what we order;however, we asked to be charged for what we consumed. The manager did a great job at managing the situation, but honestly the security team and bartender made what was going as a great experience at Los Altos a horrible experience.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem, what an amazing Mexican speakeasy, unlike anything we've ever seen in Miami. Great music and amazing cocktails, definitely going back .

Yelp
This bar/speakeasy is connected to the Mexican taqueria downstairs, after a great dinner you can come upstairs and enjoy great drinks and even better music. The dj played everything all night long and kept everyone dancing, the bar service is great as well. Definitely recommend and will be back

Yelp
If Negative one was a choice it would've been mine. Management where are you???? Party of four - Sat at 8:00- literally opened the place. We figured we had time to kill before going to a 9pm show . We were given a cocktail menu with 12 choices. We selected 3 different cocktails as waitress suggested - the coconut cocktail was not available so, we selected 2 guavas, 1 passion fruit and one that came in a decorative mug with a flower. Each cocktail 13-15 dollars. All of them were packed with crushed ice thus drink volume is less than 1/3 . Literally, two sips. We ordered a guacamole for an added 15.00 really ? A little bowl with some chips. Total bill: 106.00 wasted dollars! Btw tip is included. Waitress comments : 1)I'll be around I'm just going the the bathroom 2) yeah, that drink is pretty good. The curiosity and excitement of getting in soon dies once you get your drink and the super rookie service. Oh yeah, bottle service - a bottle of Tito's is 375.00 really???? Never again!

Yelp
This bar was such an adventure to get into. I wont spoil the surprise. This location is easy to miss. There is street parking available on both sides of the road. It's located almost at the end of the block. There is a small sign over the door and a bouncer downstairs. Once you enter you have to go all the way inside to get into the bar. Just like any bar- this bar was dimly lit but they had some really amazing decorations. There was a lot of pictures surrounded by red lights and there was a wall full of mask that you could wear to dance in or just take pictures in. Bar service was good and also the waitress was attentive to our table. they provided good customer service. The drinks we really good. Their mix drinks were 15.00. We absolutely loved the Bee design on some of the drinks & they also had Bee stirrers available at the table ( such a cute idea) We had table reservations which was really beneficial when you needed a break from all that dancing. The DJ was amazing esp for a Sunday evening. He played a mix of everything and kept the vibe going all night long. This was truly a fun night.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place on a Thursday night when i saw a bouncer standing outside the door connected to the restaurant. My friends and I asked what's located inside here and the bouncer said "the best Mexican candy shop in town" we laughed and thought he was joking. Once he let us upstairs it was really a candy shop. At first I was like wow this is really a joke until the lady at the register opened another door that led us into a speakeasy area with a bar and a great DJ! I loved this place because it was very lowkey and the drink menu was amazing. We also managed to order some guacamole (must have) and also chicken quesadillas. If you are in the Calle Ocho area, definitely check out this place. It is great for any type of vibe you are looking for from dancing, great Mexican food, or a chill place for drinking and music with friends.

Yelp
Celebrated my birthday here on Friday! We reserved an area for 10 people. Diana the waitress was very friendly and attentive! The location is small and cozy but it did get quite crowded for about 2 hours so I was glad we reserved the couches! Drinks were fairly priced and the food was delicious. The food menu is very limited, I wish they offered a bit more to enjoy in between drinks. I wasn't too crazy about the DJs music selection it was too much throwback like 80's and too much of it. And we he started mixing good music he would cut the song prematurely right when the vibe was getting good!!! I would definitely go back, maybe on a Saturday to see if there's a different DJ or music selection!
