Los Galanes Birrias & Tacos

Absolutely amazing. The food was delicious and the portions were even better. These are not your typical thin birria tacos. I asked if he thought I could eat 5 tacos and he told me to get 3 (he was right). The quesabirria was so big it hung out of the box (not shown in picture as we ate that part on the way home lol). All of that, and when we finished eating, the food did not feel heavy in our stomachs or weigh us down. This guy knows what he's doing.

The person running this truck is incredibly passionate and he takes immense pride in the food he prepares and serves. As a first time customer, he was very welcoming. Everything is made to order, and the presentation, taste, and freshness of the food reflects that. The birria tacos not only look amazing but are also loaded with so much flavor. You have to drink the broth once you've finished dipping the tacos into it, because it is just that good on its own. All the ingredients blend so well together. The street corn was absolutely incredible as well. It was the perfect side dish for the birria tacos. The corn had such great flavor combined with the cheese, seasonings, and sauces. Our only regret was not going back a second time while in Austin to try his breakfast tacos! We will be back once in the area again. If you're looking for top quality street tacos in the area, you cannot go wrong with this place.

The birria beef tacos were excellent & both sauces blended well. The consomme was rich & not fatty; perfect for dipping. The owner was very friendly and gave us the details on his version. Definitely making a return visit.

Tried out Los Galanes Birrias & Tacos at South 1st. We ended up waiting almost an hour for our order, which was a bit much, especially since we were hungry. I got the Birria Taco Bowl and my husband had the Steak Taco Bowl. The food looked great, but honestly, it was just okay. Not bad, but nothing we’d wait that long for again. If you’re nearby and not in a rush, maybe give it a try—but definitely don’t come starving.

Superub and fresh with a homemade feel - what a delight! He fries the cheese onto the tortilla so you get that delicious cheese crust then the ingredients are all pronounced - I love breakfast tacos and this is an excellent spot in glad to live by

Phenomenal Tacos!! Juicy, flavorful, and bigger than any other tacos any food truck around is serving. This place doesn't just sell tacos, it serves art; something you can tell was made by someone passionate about what they do. Don't be alarmed at the prices, you get what you pay for!

These birria tacos are so damn good! You can get them chicken or traditional beef style. So blown away at all the flavors and how amazing the food is. I will definitely be back!

Some of the best birrias tacos I've ever had. The proprietor gave me (and other customers) a short, introductory speech proudly explaining that the salsa is made with 150 different peppers, and that the fat is removed from the meat and the beef broth making it taste better. He mentioned that they are known for their birrias. I tried the street corn which was corn sliced longitudinally and seasoned just about perfectly. The vegetarian mayan bowl was tasty, but what really stood out were the beef barrias tacos which were outstanding. The hard shells are grilled and fused with queso, then stuffed with perfectly shredded beef and topped with typical vegetables, etc. What I thought made the tacos amazing was the beef broth which was hot (l mean hot like a hot soup) which when dipped reheated the tacos. The extra green sauce was excellent and the red sauce was super spicy. I sat at the blue picnic tables which could have been cleaner and I think in need of repainting or even some touch up. I also prefer to eat with real utensils, not the flimsy plastic ones, but I suppose that goes with the setting. I even enjoyed the music while eating. I'm in awe and really appreciate the excitement, energy, and passion put behind their food and operation - great local food truck vendor.

If you're in South Austin and craving authentic birria tacos, this truck is an absolute must-visit! The flavor is next-level -- the beef is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The consommé? Pure liquid gold. Dunking the crispy tacos in that broth is basically a spiritual experience. Portions are generous, and the prices are more than fair for the quality. Been here three times this week. I'm on a low carb diet and the keto taco, basically uses fried cheese instead of tortillas is absolutely bomb. Only problem (unrelated to food) is the parking situation sucks, constant bottleneck and tight turn around in a small lot.

Such a great experience! The Birria Tacos are delicious and the customer service was excellent I felt very welcomed. They were very quick to give recommendations. I love that they give the options of chicken or beef birria. I ordered 1 chicken 1 been and while both were delicious I liked the chicKen a little bit more. The salsas that were served with the birria tacos were both delicious as well! There is plenty of seating in front of the food truck. I brought a book and read while I ate :) Parking is limited but I had not issue getting a spot. I liked that there are real restrooms onsite. I would visit and eat here again!

This spot is so cute. The person who gave us our food was so nice and friendly. The food is delicious, definitely hits the spot when you want something cheesy and filling. The churros tasted so good like freshly made which I appreciate so much!

Breakfast tacos are delicious and flavorful, with generous portions of egg + protein. I ordered egg+ chorizo and egg+steak. The tacos were overflowing with fillings. The flour tortillas are lightly browned on the flat top. Roja salsa is spicy yet perfect if you like a little heat. Verde salsa is mild but flavorful. Easily 5 stars and can't wait to try their signature Birria next time!! Must try taco truck!!

I need to vary my order, but I've eaten the potato, chorizo, and egg taco more than 30 times, and it might be my favorite breakfast taco in town. It comes up extra crispy. Almost like a huge quasadilla. Lots of fillings. $3.75 for one and one is pretty much a meal.

Best tacos ever! The gentleman working the truck was so friendly and explained the sauces and best that paired with the tacos. it is an outside food truck spot with many trucks. But if you are looking for true authentic tacos go here!

This was our first time visiting this food truck park and after enjoying our meal at Los Galanes and Bananarchy, we will be back as there are a couple of other trucks in the park, and I really want to try the one with sushi hand rolls. I have never heard of birrias tacos and these were delicious. The street corn was also amazing. I love chicken street tacos and I thought these would be the small tacos that I am accustomed to and I was wrong. The tacos were huge and I could only consume one. My son ordered the beef birrias tacos and loved them. When you receive your food, you get a green and a red sauce. If you don't like heat, you should stay far away from the red sauce. The owner of the truck was so nice and I loved that he proudly explained the difference between his birrias sauce and the traditional style. Being that his is pork free, I will be trying it on my next visit.

Whoooooooaaaa. Saw this spot on Insta & knew we had to make the drive and try it out, and let me start by saying they did not disappoint! We got the low-down on the 150 peppers per batch of birria prior to making our selection (and if you've had birria experiences already then you know why we chose tge quesabirria as our first option). The spot was easy to access with on-site parking that didn't require stalking to get parked, and several concepts co-located (including a smoke shop for appetizers)... so far, I'm sold. We placed our order (quesabirria & churros, of course) and hit the smoke shop and picked up some CBD dog treats for our pups & picked a table. Shortly, our first course was on the table & we were off to the races! Our 3 huge wedges of quesabirria were accompanied by a sweet-green salsa + a hot-as-hell red salsa, comsomme (and lime wedge, ofc). The first few bites were exploratory- the flavor profile of this birria is definitely unique... I was enamored immediately with the crispy cheese edges they produced on the grill from the 1st bite, and by my 2nd slice of birria, I was won over. Very very tasty experience BUT THEN ...our churros chingones were ready. And y'all, when I say they stole the SHOW?!? I meeeeaaaannnnnn, how you gonna serve me bomb-azz birria & thrn BLOW MY MIND with an unsuspecting dessert food that's typically pretty blah?! These golden rods of edible JOY were perfectly browned & crisp on the outside, soft and silky inside, with a creamy center surprise inside, and they're covered not only by the obligatory cinnamon & sugar, but also drizzled with a divine GOAT MILK caramel (I wouldn't have known it wasn't cows milk if this puts you on the fence). We literally stopped eating our birria & devoured the churros before finishing our dinner, they were SO GOOD! All in all, a very happy-tummy-making visit that has definitely secured a return visit expectation... well done, folks!

We just happen to stumble upon this spot and we're so glad we did! The food is amazing and Rodrigo was super friendly, explaining all things birria to us. We got the quesabirria and churros, and both were delicious. The consume was light and flavorful and complimented the quesabirria so well. The churros were perfectly coated in rich caramel without being too sweet. Looking forward to going back to try everything else!

I have a weakness for quesabirria - and i was in the mood for it tonight visiting Austin. Wow am I glad I believed the reviews and came to try Los Galanes. Rod is a super nice guy and extremely talented cook. You can tell how much he loves the food and the customers. Really beautiful complex flavors, incredible salsas, and a great conversation while I was waiting. I can't wait to come back for breakfast tacos this weekend!

AMAZING food, I had the birria tacos and would come back for them again. The salsa options were well explained when given to us as well.

The bad rating is how the one person handled the situation on losing our order and making us wait a good half hour. There is literally only one person making the food and three groups waiting for their order. Two more groups came and ordered their food and somehow they ended up getting their food after us. The guy kept asking what our number was. We didn't have one as there was no receipt printout and you can barely see the electronic screening from the direct sunlight. We wanted to just cancel our order at one point, but the guy kept insisting that the order was coming. Luckily the food tasted fine, but probably not coming back again. Don't come here if you're on a schedule because you'll miss or be late to whatever it is.

What an explosion of flavor on the first bite. I think that this is hands down the best birria and consume' I've ever had in all my travels. The consume' would be excellent as a stand alone menu item on a cold evening. Thanks Mike from #tripsheperd for the recommendation.

Came here with friends to grab a late dinner and it was amazing! Got the churros and beef birria tacos and 10/10! The owner Rodrigo was so nice and friendly and patiently explained to us the menu, how the tacos were made, and the ingredients in the sauce. The tacos were tender and the consommé was flavorful, and the green sauce was the perfect spiciness! The churros were super soft and moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside, and with a perfect amount of cinnamon and caramel drizzle! The food truck is in a nice little area with picnic tables around and other food trucks, there is also a gravel parking lot but there is limited parking. Super nice area and food, would come back here again!

The man noticed I'm deaf so he commuicate via note pad on his phone, he was so friendly, birria was gooood tacos!! consome was the best flavor thick than others I've been go diff places for birria tacos. Sometimes they make watery.. this is best tacos. He gave me fattt taco with melt chesse!!!

The owner is wonderful and really knows how to run a business. The food he serves is always fresh and filled with amazing flavors. The street corn is one of our favorite things and we will go there just for that on most occasions. The birria tacos are nice and flavorful as well!

Great flavor, friendly owner and staff. It can be a little loud since it's next to S1sts but overall a must try. Ps: there's no fat and oil in the broth which makes it easy to eat and less messy. I'll definitely be coming back with friends. Out of all the places I've tried, I'd rate this in my top 3.

We got the quesabirria, street corn, and churros (not pictured cuz we ate it too quick) and everything was SO delicious!! Our server was amazing and explained what birria was and how they make it. There was quite a bit of outside seating as there were other food trucks nearby. Was blown away by the amount of food and there were 3 of us, so he made sure to cut the quesabirria into 3 and gave us extra churro to make sure we each got to eat two! Would definitely come back!!

Owner was super friendly and proud of his work. Food was 10/10!!! The steak was the best fajita meat we've had while in Austin and his specialty is Birria which was phenomenal. The flavors and taste did not disappoint. Yall need to come check him out. He has a food truck located on 1st St.

The food is incredible. It's this older gentleman who truly embodies good customer service. You can tell he takes pride in what he cooks and really want you to enjoy it. I highly recommend this spot not only because of the amazing food but to support this amazing business and a great person.

Our tour guide introduced us to this neighborhood gem. We're from SoCal and had birria before. But this is One of the best Birria Tacos dipped in a cup of grease less meat juice we've had. Kudos to the Chef. Highly Recommend!!

I haven't had a taco like this ever. 10-stars ! The shredded chicken was so soft and the taco itself was cooked in such a unique way. The owner was super nice and explained the cooking process. The portion sizes are large and very reasonably priced. This is a gem.

Was so lucky to stumble across this brand new place this weekend. I was with a larger group so we got to try several menu items including the Birria tacos, birria broth, cheese crusted street tacos, steak taco, pastor tacos, street corn, Quesabirria, Birria Sandwich, steak nachos, dessert nachos and the special churro dessert. Wow now that I write that all out we sound like pigs but we just kept on ordering because everything was so good. The flavors were SO good. The owner told us that the birria took more than 7 hours to cook and the thing I lived about it was that they relied on herbs and spices to flavor the birria not fat. This new gem is located in the south 1ST street food truck park. They just opened this Sunday so do yourself a favor and go before the lines are around the corner.

The service was fantastic immediately friendly welcoming and helped walk you through the menu if you've never had Birria. And for us it's been the best in Austin. The street corn was also delicious and limey to start. Not to mention the great drink selection with horchata and a passion fruit lemonade and more. A must try at Los Galanes.

I guess it's a good thing this food truck is not at all close to where I live because I'd be eating there every day if it were! Everything I tried was delicious. i had the beef birria tacos, the street corn, and the churros. The servings were very generous, so I shared with my husband. The service was professional, friendly and fast. These guys definitely know what they are doing and have an obvious passion for it! I highly recommend eating here!
