"Los Gallegos is one of those Spanish restaurants your tio Raimundo and his friends already know about. The kind you’d find in Galicia, where the only wine options are house red or white, hearty stews act like a relief from the rain, and octopus is king. The small dining room is lined with pastoral paintings and families eating pulpo a la gallega drenched in olive oil, paprika, and salt. They’ve got the right idea: everything with the word “gallego” or “gallega” is amazing here. Start with caldo gallego, a soup with chunks of fatty pork and white beans lounging in broth so rich it soothes chapped lips. Then move on to a big filet topped with serrano ham, melted manchego cheese, and a mushroom sauce. Los Gallegos is the perfect place to bring your family for a nice dinner, including that uncle who knows his Spanish food." - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer

"Whether they're one or ten generations removed, lots of families in Miami celebrate their Spanish heritage with traditions like eating roscón de reyes on Dia De Los Reyes and dinners that start at 8:30pm. So if you feel like Spanish food might be the only thing your families agree on, go to Los Gallegos and eat tender octopus drenched in olive oil, paprika, and salt. Despite the white tablecloths, the restaurant is casual enough to turn a tense moment into a relaxed one. And few peace offerings match the gesture of sharing your rich caldo gallego with someone by letting them dip their used spoon in it. Plus, Los Gallegos has a list of wines all under $80—every Rioja-loving dad’s dream. " - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer

Google
Homelike Spanish traditional food in the middle of Bird Road. We liked the patatas bravas, croquetas de jamon, tortilla española, and the calamares fritos. The service was good: the owner was friendly and involved on making you feel like at a friends house. We would come back for the cold tapas and maybe the desserts.

Google
I felt right at home at this Spanish family-friendly restaurant! The waiters were welcoming and the atmosphere was cozy. The music was not loud and I appreciate that. We had the sangria and the paella Valenciana, which were both delicious. While we waited for our paella for 2 (which takes 45 minutes), we enjoyed some garbanzos, tortilla española and patatas bravas, which were also very good! We had some paella left but we ordered dessert anyway :) The flan was very good! Overall, the food was fresh and home-style. Yes, we had to roll out of there but I enjoyed this restaurant and will definitely come back!

Google
Very nice service, place, and food. Was a bit pricey for the portions of the foods considering they were tapas, but it met my expectations of it since it was a very recommended place. The waiters were very funny and interactive, and the place had a homey ambiance similar to restaurants in Spain.

Google
I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I have tried so many restaurants in Miami and around the world and I can guarantee you this restaurant is the worst I have ever tried. I got food poisoned the following day after eating here. The only reason I came was because I was invited from a friend around the area. I will regret this for the rest of my life. Too many reasons to mention. Avoid at all cost

Google
After visiting a few of the best Spanish Restaurants in the area, “Los Gallegos” the best! Quite Frankly! Many of the restaurants in Madrid don’t compete with “Los Gallegos” very very authentic! Excellent service!

Google
I have been coming to Los Gallegos for more than two decades It has been a fantastic experience The people that works at the place makes you feel like part of the family Pleasant and great experience Highly recommend Five start

Google
This is the worst “spanish” restaurant I have ever tried in my life. Came here while visiting my parents in the area and I couldn’t be more dissapointed. The croquettes which is a traditional spanish recipe were cold and tasteless. I ordered the secret recipe pork and I couldn’t even eat it. Terrible experience from start to finish. They call themselves a fine restaurant (this is ridiculous)! I could eat better at Pollo Tropical. Avoid at all cost

Yelp
Los Gallegos is on my way to work, so I drive by it daily. I finally decided to give them a try and they did not disappoint. Our waiter Ramon was exceptional, he made us feel like we're family. Everything we ordered was tasty and freshly made. Inside was spotless, quiet, and cozy. We will definitely come back more often.

Louis L.

Yelp
This was my first time trying this restaurant... and it didn't disappoint. Ordered one of my favorite dishes; a beef empanada. To go together with the empanada, I also ordered their Garbanzo beans with chorizo. It was flavorful and was a good complement with the bread. For the main entree, I went with their Pechuga de pollo, with sautéed vegetables. I loved it because the chicken was very tender. I had a great dining experience and the servers were very friendly. Will recommend this place to anyone who likes a homey experience

Lizeth C.

Yelp
First time here and we loved it!!! Food was exquisite!! We ordered the pulpo al gallego, ham and chorizo croquetas, gambas al ajillo, saffron paella... every single bite was delicious, full of flavor and so fresh!! The service was excellent and the place makes you feel home. Def coming back to try more plates

C D.

Yelp
Excellent food and the service was very good It was a pleasant time in a small and quaint restaurant La sopa de ajo was very good and I felt like I was in Spain for a little while Good to Dream

Yelp
My 70-something year old mother is a regular at Los Gallegos since she loves Spanish cuisine and Los Gallegos has really delicious Spanish food. An old family friend invited my mother, my teenage son and middle-aged me to lunch and this was the place we chose to eat with her. My mom did a great job ordering for us since she knew their portions were large. We all shared the fish soup, fried calamari (squid) and seafood paella. Then each of us ordered different desserts: the flan, the creme brûlée, chocolate cake and pears poached in wine accompanied by a cup of coffee (either cappuccino or espresso). Every dish was rich in flavor and absolutely delicious! The soup and the paella had generous portions of fish and seafood! The desserts were really nice too! The couple at the table adjacent to ours also appeared to be regulars. They ordered different bottles of wine and tried several of the dishes including fried calamari, grilled octopus and a platter full of assorted grilled fish. This is a family-friendly and family-run business that was very welcoming to all customers as if they were eating at the home of close family friends rather than at a restaurant. Victor, Domingo, Charlie/Carlos and Oscar were all very kind, friendly, helpful and attentive to us as well as to all the other customers at Los Gallegos. We had excellent service with a smile and they also took photos of us seating at our table o we would remember that wonderful meal.

Yelp
Went to Los Gallegos for lunch a few days ago with my father. The place is nice but located in a corner next to a coin laundromat. Parking is very limited. Have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got the chance. The food was really good. Very authentic Spanish food. I ordered the Jam Croquetas which were delicious and straight out of the fryer. We also ordered the gambas al ajillo as well as the mushrooms with jam in garlic which I also enjoyed. My father ordered a garlic soup which he wasn't impressed with. I tried it and it was ok. Honestly I never order that soup anywhere so I can't compare. For desert we ate a Crema Catalana which lasted a few seconds. Very delicious with a nice sugar crust. Service was excellent with a mom and pop style to it. I believe it was the owner that took care of us but to be honest I didn't ask. It's was half filled with people for lunch which surprised me, but I'm sure it's more of a dinner restaurant. Nice to have it near my house to get our Spanish cuisine fix. I recommend it if you live in the area.

Jose P.

Yelp
Excellent local restaurant with Spanish flavor! The waiter Ramon is very professional, always recommending the best dishes. Very friendly tao it makes you feel in family.

Raquel P.

Yelp
Happy to say that after some years the Garlic soup was delicious full of garlic and savory broth very comforting ! The Zarzuela de Mariscos was good but not too flavorful and we asked for rice which was a little hard and dry. The Peras al vino were good and so was the coffee. Service was friendly and efficient.

Joseph T.

Yelp
Wow and double WOW!! Little hidden gem in Miami. Domingo and Victor are the best servers ever. They greet you at the door and make your dining experience unique and personal. The place is full of locals that have been coming here for decades. It' has the feel of an authentic Spanish tapas place in Spain. The food?? I cannot describe in words. You need to eat it to believe it. Calamari so tender and lightly pan fried, octopus grilled to perfection so much that every bite reminds me of eating a filet mignon. Just stop and try it. It is that freaking good.

Cristobal B.

Yelp

Jose A.

Yelp
Just returned from a Spaniard vacation and considering the lack of the right ingredients I'm in an honest position to say that people are doing a great job with the limitations they have on hand .... Great flavor , superb portions and a very decent price will make this destination a great experience for you and your family

Frank B.

Yelp
What a treat to be able to enjoy this Neighborhood Tapas restaurant just West of Coral Gables ! The food and the service were excellent!! The wine and the myriad of desserts is so pleasing to the palate and to the eyes. Very reasonable prices. Would strongly recommend this culinary delight.

ismael f.

Yelp
Service was horrible no one in restaurant and waiters rarely came by to busy talking to each other . Mixed grill was not a good deal poor quality and quantity fire the money. Worst if all they added tip without telling us and a service charge for using credit card stay away

Amanda M.

Yelp
This is is an OG spot and definitely hits anytime you want yummy Spanish food. The folks here are nice and welcoming. The ambiance isn't anything to rave about, it's a very local and neighborhood Mom and Pop spot. If you're in the neighborhood and want good food, this is a great spot!

Sergio F.

Yelp
I stopped by for a quick tapas dinner with a friend and chose this spot because it was right in the middle. If the intro seems basic that's because our experience was too. Granted, we got there a little after 8pm (work n stuff) but closing time wasn't ostensibly for another hour. Some menu recommendations or more attentive service would have been nice. Besides I've done at other restaurants where this didn't seem to be an issue. That's the main downer in this writeup. My friend said the Spanish omelette she ordered tasted a little plain; she did leave a portion of it. They didn't offer to bring sugar for her coffee. That said, she did like the cod croquetas she ordered. Our sangria was nice and sweet, with just the right amount of buzz. As far as my order, I really enjoyed the patatas brava. The texture of the potatoes, and amount of spicy was really good. The serrano ham and manchego cheese was decent as well, and the crema catalana was sweet with a perfect crust. The dessert by itself almost made this review much higher!

Ozzy P.

Yelp
Every time I go here I have a different plate. The selection is varied & made with love. On the weekends they have music. The waitresses & owner are always very inviting & refreshing cuz they recommend something different every time.

JC N.

Yelp
I was told that the food here was pretty good. So we spent this past summer in Spain for our family vacation, and wanted to recreate some of the memories. I gotta say that the food was spectacular, we ordered a few tapas like, garbanzo frito, manchego y jamón serrano, gambas con ajo, croquetas, pimentones con bacalao. For the main dish we ordered a day ahead cochinillo, which was served with papas. We had several desserts like crema Catalina, pastel de almendra, and the house special pear al vino. The wine was very good as well, full flavor and selected by the owner. All-n-all we had a great time and a very good meal.

Carolina a.

Yelp
Delicioso buena atención buenos precios , estacionamiento pequeño . El pulpo muy bueno los mejores boquerones

Eugenia A.

Yelp
I don't recall a paella this bad in my life. It was basically some yellow rice with a LOT of pieces of chicken breast and a couple of shrimp and clams and that's it. Sopa de ajo was a bowl of dark red grease, couldn't eat it. Equally bad was the dessert, which was crema catalana in which the sugar coating could not be broken even with the knife. The service was mediocre, the place is small and the parking is horrific. By now you can guess, I'll never go back there again. If you're looking for authentic Spanish food, this is not the place.

Luis H.

Yelp
Great food, Good service, Good ambiance. It is a small place with a counter resembling some bars in Spain. Also there are tables where you can get a greeting from the owner and a recommendation and a description of the menu's dishes. Corvina a La Plancha Con CamaronesPulpo a La Gallega

Jason S.

Yelp
Victor orchestrated a beautiful, traditional Spanish meal. Out night began with an Iberico ham and Manchego cheese plate, but the festive tone really arrived with the the delicious Crianza wine he suggested. A few tapas later and we felt transported to Barcelona. If you are looking for an artisanal authentic Spanish family restaurant experience, Los Gallegos will delight.

Alan S.

Yelp
The service was excellent! It's a nice place, but was really disappointed at my food, the paella campesina was not what I expected, had a great flavor but the rice was a bit hard.

Pomier C.

Yelp
Great food, great service, and the ambiance is very relaxed. Mr. Victor is a great host and makes sure that you are well taken care of.

Felix J.

Yelp
We've been here about three times and some of what they do is good. The croquetas are a good example. However, their service is pretty bad. Despite Yelp and Google reporting that they're open until 11:00, we were asked to "hurry up" placing our orders at 9:30 because apparently they decided to close early tonight. I said I don't like to be rushed and their attitude got worse as they just shrugged it off. There's no space for rudeness given today's circumstances. I'll likely not revisit this place given all the better Spanish options so close by.

Bill P.

Yelp
First timer at Los Gallegos. The Food was excellent. Really loved the Crab croquetas, and the Spanish Beer. The server was very friendly, providing a nice dining experience.

Linda L.

Yelp
Family enjoyed this place. Simple but delicious. All the calamari dishes were so tender and NOT really rubbery. Sea bass and shrimp were both cocked perfectly. Docked 1 star bc the dive of veges was basically mixed veges that felt like a bag of frozen grocery store veges, and the salads were a pale romaine base.

Brett F.

Yelp
Food was very heavy and some things were good and others not. Be wary of the lack of ac inside.

Luis R.

Yelp
I called on Friday to make reservations for father's day. The person that answered the phone told me they dont do reservations. Its first come first serve. He told me to be there by 11:45. They open at 12:00. We arrived at 11:45 a party of 9. When they opened at 12:00 the guy had a shit face and told us they dont have a table for us. I explained to him that i called on Friday and they told me to be there about 15 minutes before opening. He said nope we dont have tables available. After he told me on the phone, they dont take reservations mind you my dad is in a wheelchair no consideration. They are extremely rude and have no class or know how to deal with customers. Will never go back to this piece of garbage restaurant.

Allison D.

Yelp
Nice small restaurant with great service and good food, we ordered Bacalao a la Viscaína (cod), Fabada and octopus, everything was well prepared and authentic spanish recipes. Prices are also good. The only thing I didn't like was dessert...I had a piece of Tarta de Santiago (almond tart) and it was the worst tarta I've ever had, it was soggy and dry and didn't taste like almonds at all only like regular flour :( ...if it wasn't for this I would have rated the restaurant with more stars.

Enrique T.

Yelp
Excelente food and service second to none. Come and enjoy authentic Spanish delights.

Carlos C.

Yelp
This place is amazing! It has become one of our favorite places to eat. Best Pulpo I have consistently eaten in Miami Spanish restaurants. Everything we ate was flawless. From the potatoes to the veggies. Even the oil they have on the table tastes different. I love how they cook the pulpo and that is an understatement. The Mignon in this restaurant is one if my favorites, which usually I never pick in other places as I rather choose churrasco. The Corvina is another winner for my wife. It's gooooöd! They offer fresh and high quality products and when you try the dish you can tell. They offer a great selection of wines and they are very proud of their selections. Finca Torremilanos produccion unica del 2014 Ribera Del Duero being the last one we ordered and was a winner throughout our table.

Noharys H.

Yelp
ecellent food excellent customer serive. My dad break a glas of wine and they were very attentive snd very compassionate. thank yo to the staff.

Desiree B.

Yelp
Love this place. Their tortilla española is very good. A bit pricey for my taste, however if You want traditional tapas this place will not disappoint. The service is very good as well

Alejandra E.

Yelp
This restaurant is the true Definition of a hole in the wall. Everything we had was so true and authentic to the Spaniard food I am accustomed to eating. Having Spanish roots myself, I value great food and this restaurant defines just that. The owner is very attentive to his clients and so are the staff here. It was my first time but definitely not my last. Strongly recommend for a good tasting cuisine without breaking the bank.

Nayra S.

Yelp
This restaurant is STELLAR! Not only do you receive the utmost attention the moment you arrive; especially from Señor Victor who greets you warmly, but it has that old family charm that restaurants in Spain have & most restaurants try to duplicate. The focus is on traditional Spañiard food, using quality ingredients. The mushroom & goat cheese croqueta is to die for, the Cochinillo just melts in your mouth, the Fabada tastes like abuela made it and I can go on... Cheers to being an inviting restaurant & for having been around since the 80's!

Alfredo Gonzalez A.

Yelp
Excelente comida típica española. Ambiente placido y buen servicio. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Brunilda B.

Yelp
We went this Sunday with friends and were very pleased with the food and the service. We had "Caldo Gallego" and croquetas en then fish in koskera sauce. The desserts were delicious, crema catalana and torrejas. All in a very authentic ambiance, good service and a delicious sangria.

Concerned C.

Yelp
Best classical tapas restaurant in Miami hands down. Been coming here for YEARS. Quality is consistent and great.

Adriana S.

Yelp
It's very hard to find authentic Spanish food in Miami, but this place definitely has it! Everything was amazing from the appetizers to the entrees. Our waiter was very thorough when explaining the dishes and the specials. The place is very small but cozy. We tried the croquetas, pulpo, patatas bravas, sangria, gambas, and crema Catalana. My dad had the pechuga which looked very tasty, and it was a very decent portion. Will definitely come back and I highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone!

Armando R.

Yelp
Very good. The best thing for me was the Fabada Asturiana. It tasted like it was made in a small home in the country side of Asturias. The Callos a la Madrileña were good too. Service was excellent. Great staff that are very friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this and I would return for sure.

Larry H.

Yelp
Only come here if you want the very best authentic Spanish cuisine. My wife and I come here at least 2 to 3 times a month. The food is always excellent, and the wine delicious. Make sure you say hello to Victor, the owner. He is always on site and supervising everything, that is why the food is amazingly delicious and the service is Royal!!!

Dalia M.

Yelp
Great family owned and operated restaurant. Food was great and so was the service. I will definitely go back!

Nicole L.

Yelp
This restaurant had a really cute ambiance. It is very charming. The sangria was really tasty, and the bread was nice and warm. We started off with a meat and cheese platter, the cheese was great but the meat tastes too gamy to me. We tried an octopus tapa which was interesting with smoky flavor but I was not in-love. The sea bass was questionable, I thought sea bass was a more oily fish although I am not an expert. The veggies that came with the meal were pickled and I am not a huge fan of pickled veggies. We did arrive 5 minutes before the kitchen closed so at least they cooked for us. I think I would try something else next time.

Lissete D.

Yelp
Maybe because I was expecting so much more based on the reviews, but I just was not feeling it. Let me start with the good. The place is quaint and clean. Service was good. The Sangria was very good. And very well priced for a 1/2 carafe. $10 The Gambas al Ajillo good and plenty of garlic to dunk your bread in. The ok. The ham croquettes. These were perfectly uniform in size and shape which leads me to believe that they are not homemade. They tasted ok but heavy on the bechamel and light on the ham. Crema Catalana. Just okay. The taste was not bad but the cream was really thick and the sugar top was chewy. 'Nuff said. The not so good. The fried cochinillo tapas. This dish consisted of about 6 pork chunks topped with tons of garlic for $12.50. The chunks were crispy on the outside but practically all fat on the inside. Barely any meat. I only had one piece because my arteries were begging for mercy. The parking lot sucks. We went in for lunch but were not offered a lunch menu. When we asked if they have a lunch special, our server mentioned 2 dishes. Grilled chicken or corvina. Each comes with a cup of soup. Not many options. We watched another couple sit down, peruse the menu, ask about lunch special then just walk out. I wanted to do the same but we did not since we had already attacked the bread basket. The non-seafood paella is $20. Per Person, so we could not share. Three tapas, a 1/2 carafe of sangria and a crema Catalana came out to $46+ tip. We will stick to Club Iberico for delicious Spanish food.

Ashley G.

Yelp
If I can give this place a -0 I would. Today I wasn't feeling well and decided to order a soup and white rice. I usually don't do take out but today was my lucky day I guess you can say!! NEVER AGAIN...............wtf

M A.

Yelp
Wonderful spot for fresh and deliciously authentic Spanish tapas. Food is brought out very quick. Their "pulpo a la gallega" never disappoints. Friendly service and great wine selection. (Now if only we can fix the lack of parking situation but totally worth it!)

Jessica C.

Yelp
This place was recommended to me by a friend who knows my love for Spanish food. My mom ordered a "Caldo Gallego" for an appetizer which is a very traditional and signature soup that was so delicious. I ordered "Sopa de Mariscos" where my love for Seafood and Soups come together and it is by far my favorite plate. It was all Very authentic! We shared for the main course the "Paella Valenciana" which can be shared between 2 people and it left us wanting to come back again. Very great service, the staff is amicable and the food is exquisite. i'll recommend this place to anyone

Leo D.

Yelp
Great place, great wines without second mortgage at the right temperature. Try huevos rotos (not in the menu)

Jalin O.

Yelp
Ive only been here twice but the last time, i was greatly disappointed. Having been raised on authentic Spanish food (my father is gallego), I understand that a restaurant can never compare to real home cooking however, the service was sub-par at best. The food is decent, I guess it's nothing to 'write home about'. The first time I went, we were kind of left alone which wasn't good nor bad. But last night, I decided to go with my son and my father and it appears that my son was a problem from the moment we walked in. An older gentlemen (whom I assume was the owner) was not pleased at all and made us feel very unwelcome. Didn't offer us anything to drink and I had to flag him down multiple times to order. For the record, my son was behaving... he say quietly the entire dinner. Probably won't be going back.
