"A prominent New York City taco spot for which Jorge “Joy” Alvarez-Tostado was part of the opening team back in 2013; this prior experience is cited as part of the team’s broader NYC and taco-scene credentials." - Nadia Chaudhury
"Los Tacos No. 1 is always a great option for lunch (our order: two carne asada tacos on corn tortillas, with a jamaica agua fresca if in need of an extra treat), and this particular location has the added benefit of being extremely convenient to Penn. They’re open till 11pm, so it’d also make a great pre- or post-game stop for any sports fan who’d prefer not to shell out $22 for a crappy sandwich at Madison Square Garden." - bryan kim, will hartman, willa moore, neha talreja, molly fitzpatrick
"Technically, Los Tacos is a standing lunch—there are no chairs, but there are high-top tables and excellent tacos, so we'll let them slide. The counter-service taco shop with locations all across the city makes some of the most corporate and/or touristy parts of New York slightly more exciting to eat in. There’s usually a line out the door, but it moves fast, and you’ll be eating within 20 minutes or less. Get a variety of tacos—there's no wrong choice here—and then make good use of the salsa bar." - willa moore, bryan kim, molly fitzpatrick, will hartman, sonal shah
"The original Los Tacos No. 1 is in Chelsea Market, and they do some of the city’s most reliably great tacos. This location of the casual mini-chain is across from Grand Central, though you can also find their tender carne asada and homemade tortillas in Times Square and near Penn Station. As far as quick, mid-workday lunches go, this is among the best that Midtown has to offer." - bryan kim, sonal shah, molly fitzpatrick, willa moore
"Los Tacos No. 1’s original location in Chelsea Market is selling a secret adobada taco that comes in a shell made from nothing but cheese. It looks as messy as it does delicious." - hannah albertine
