11 Grand Rapids Breweries to Grab a Pint

"This nano-brewery is well-known for the ice cream series of beers, pushing the boundaries of beer flavors by incorporating a variety of ice creams and sorbets. The establishment also brews hazy IPAs, shandy, and the roaring 20s series featuring high ABV and barrel-aged offerings. Outside the taproom, guests can find the Lost Art Burger food truck serving a rotating sandwich of the month, smash burgers, and fries. Additionally, there’s Texas wood fired barbecue available from the brewery’s neighbors, Stubburn BBQ." - Courtney Burk

The Best Roadtrip-Worthy Breweries to Visit in Southwest Michigan

"During the pandemic, Lost Art began serving smash burgers from a food truck and that business took off. Ownership still pays plenty of attention to its core business, serving delicious beer. Find (milkshake) IPAs, lagers, and other ales. Highlights include the flagship Dune Climber (a hazy IPA) and their sweet ice cream series. This year, Key lime pie is the basis." - Karl Klockars, Eater Staff

Google
A really great brewery! The beers were unique and refreshing. The food truck out front has the best Smash Burger I've had in a while! Will definitely make a point to come back here.

Great first trip; beautiful facility with cool art everywhere. Beers were top notch. Koala juice amazing, apple bottom jeans was apple pie a la mode in beer form, the black triple ipa was special... Great beers. Smash burgers were also excellent. Friendly service with a smile. Will be back.

Plenty parking. Great patio and variety of chairs inside. Didnt have the food, arrived too late but heard good things. Beer list didn't include a dark but it is spring. Try the ice cream beer - sounds strange but tastes good. Staff is friendly and helpful.

A real hidden gem in Walker. Great beer. No food, but you can bring in outside food and they often have food trucks. There's a little side lounge area that's super comfortable. Staff is super cool and all in all there's just a great vibe here. Don't leave without trying pineapple milkshake. Really a stand out.

Google
The beer here is great, not a long list but sometimes that makes it easier to choose. The star, to me is the Lost Art Burger truck that is just outside. Loved sitting in the patio area, the bar looked pretty comfortable. Will be back for beer and burgers.

Google
Love the Lost Art Burgers and Lost Art Brewing genius. The Lantern Mocha + espresso was fantastic. Update! they have an olive burger now and spicy smash sauce... great combo! Those Brandywine is a delicious beverage.

Google
Always great service and friendly employees. We sat outside and really enjoyed the variety of beer they have available on tap and in cans to-go. Impressed with Lost Art! A newly added smash burgers and fries food truck out front makes this place even better. Awesome burger and fries!

Yelp
Lost Art Brewhouse is a cool neighborhood spot on the NW side of Grand Rapids. I honestly don't make it to that side of town very often, but Nate and I met up with my aunt and uncle there recently for a beer and a burger from the Lost Art Burger truck. Inside is cozy, with some varied seating and a bar. There's also a little "lounge" room off to the side that looked nice if you wanted more privacy. I've been following Lost Art on social media and have been impressed with the range of smoothie and fruity beers that they've come up with. I tried the blackberry pomegranate vanilla milkshake, which was so delicious! It was super fruity and a little thick. I got a small pour of that to sip on, and Nate got an IPA that he liked. The bartender let us try some which was helpful so we knew what we wanted. You can get a Brew Club membership, which includes some really great deals like $1 off beer every day, $1.50 off beer and $1.50 off burgers on Brew Club Tuesdays, 15% off merchandise every day, and more. This is a cool spot to try a new beer and hang out with friends. It was pretty quiet and casual when we were there on a Tuesday evening. We really liked the food from the Lost Art Burger truck!

Yelp
This place has very good beer. Situated next to Latin House, Lost Art Brewhouse has outdoor, indoor, and lounge seating. Their food truck, Lost Art Burger, was outside playing music and serving food. They don't have flights, but you can order half pours (or try samples). We ordered a BBA Great Scot (10% ABV scotch ale), a Koala Juice (8.7% double NEIPA with Motueka and Vic secret hops), and a Dune Climber (7.2% IPA). All were great! We sat in the lounge, which was a little oddly decorated, but comfortable nonetheless. Excited to try more of their beers in the future!

Yelp
Lost Art is a little gem out on Walker. It's small, cute, and usually has light jazz playing. Service is quick and the beers are unique and delicious. Has a small outdoor patio that is dog friendly (and if the sun goes away and makes it cold because it's still early March they'll allow you to bring your dog in - thank you!!)

Yelp
My wife and I have been back a few times since our first visit. The orange dreamcicle was one of the best beers I've ever had, and the lemon freeze is also really good. Cool art deco atmosphere with a food truck out front.

Yelp
The Lost Art Brewhouse has a great vibe with great decor. I had the Octoberfest which was outstanding, and the Rasberry Sorbet which is sure to keep the non beer drinkers happy (as well as the beer drinkers). They brew small batches, so there is always something new and fresh to try. The owner is passionate about his craft and his customers, and it shows.

Yelp
We have frequented this place since it opened. They have a niche with the ice cream beers, which my wife loves. However, small place, no waitstaff (sometimes you have to wait in line for a while for your drink(s). Also, the more popular the place has become, I have noticed a steady price increase. Although that have a good product, I do not want to pay $7 or more for a beer. Also, their foodtruck has great burgers, but they are also pricy. Not much ambiance, small building, outside area is out front, not much seating or shade. I will say it is worth a try, and you will probably like it, but your wallet will feel lighter when you leave.

Yelp
This was the first time we were there. The name is really neat! The lounge area was so pretty and hip. Loved the painting on the wall. The furniture was comfy. Beer was so good. Loved having the food truck out there.

Yelp
A large variety of beers. Love their milkshake series, so creamy. Their burgers are excellent too- very filling.

Yelp
The product speaks for itself and speaks for the passion and love the owners have for beer. Consistently willing to think outside the box for their new creations, their nano operation allows them the freedom to churn out small batch after small batch of insanely quality brews. Already one of my favorites breweries in GR, this place is set to become a staple of the beer trail in the area. Check out Lost Art!

Yelp
Lost Art is for beer lovers! The varieties of beer are wonderful -- something for everyone who likes beer. The bar serves basically only beer; no wine or mixed drinks, etc. This is a very small place; no kitchen, but they frequently have food trucks on site. Customers are also welcome to bring in their own food. There is seating inside and outside. Staff is very friendly. Nice, relaxing atmosphere to enjoy good beer!

Yelp
This place is so good. I've gone here several times since they opened and have been so happy every time. This is one of my go to places to bring people from out of town since their beer is delicious. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Delicious beer, friendly staff, and a fun atmosphere. They regularly have food trucks to grab food while you enjoying your beer. These are posted and updated on their websites.

Daniel T.

Yelp
Every single beer that I have tried at Lost Art has been excellent. They are a regular stop for me to grab a few cans to bring home. Personal favorites are Dune Climber and Dapper.
