For Mother’s Day this year, my family and I decided to take a fishing trip to Lost Lake, located about an hour and a half from our home in Portland. The drive itself is a treat, offering stunning views of orchards and Mount Hood along the way. Upon arrival, there is a $15 day parking fee, which is quite reasonable considering the amenities. Lost Lake offers various options for an extended stay, including reserved and first-come, first-served walk-in camping spots. There are also yurts and cabins available for rent, or you can simply pitch a tent. We opted for a day trip and chose to fish from the south day use area. The south day use area was perfect for our needs, providing ample space for our fishing gear, cooler, and a safe place for our young kids to play in the water. Throughout the day, we caught four fish. While most were small fryers, I did manage to snag a decent 15-inch rainbow trout, which was quite a thrill, especially since we were fishing before the lake's restock. An additional highlight of our trip was the charming store at Lost Lake. It's well worth a visit. Lost Lake is not just great for fishing, but also offers hiking, camping, and boating, with rentals available from the resort. Overall, I highly recommend Lost Lake for a fantastic day or weekend trip with family and friends. It’s a wonderful spot to enjoy the outdoors and create lasting memories.

Great experience! They have rental kayaks and boat for families to use😁 There is a hiking trail along the lake that is about 3 miles long. Would definitely recommend for a family weekend

Great spot to relax, no cell service so great place to unplug and get away from the rat race. Yurt was very comfy and well maintained. Fire ban was in effect so be sure to check that before you go and bring propane stove/fire pit for cooking etc.. Had a blast renting a kayak and stand-up paddle board, staff at shop/check-in and marina were helpful, friendly, and professional. Scenery was incredible, a perfect reminder of what is so special about the PNW. Will be back for sure.

Beautiful lake! Very friendly people working there. Always have a great time when we go. Sometimes it does get a little crowded. But it's worth it.

Very beautiful and serene with a wonderful view of Mount Hood. Be prepared with bug spray as there are a lot of mosquitoes. There are trails to hike and places to go down to the lake water including areas that stay shallow enough to walk out quite a ways into the lake without reaching your waist. Only removing a star because there are a lot of very noisy and annoying people that will yell and scream and leave garbage all over the trails. It absolutely sickens me to see trails of plastic candy wrappers all along such a beautiful nature setting.

We got here at 9:30am on a Saturday and the parking was running out. The water is warm and clear. View of Hood is priceless. I suggest wearing footwear for comfort. The water gets choppy in the afternoon.

Such an incredible little gem! I highly recommend walking around the lake if you need to keep your dog mostly shaded. If you forget to bring cash, you can pay the $15 daily pass in the General Store by card.

Very beautiful views, the parking lots were closed when we were there but even the hike was worth it. You must go to the left trail and walk along for about a mile and you get the most amazing view of the mountain down the lake. The pictures are unreal.
