Got married here in November and let me just say... Epic Events and Lot 8 were AMAZING!!! Lets face it, weddings are stressful, but I felt ZERO stress from start to finish. They offer the most affordable package; venue, caterer, Dj, photographer. They do offer a wide variety of centerpieces if you choose to go that route or you can bring your own. We did have to get our own flowers and alcohol, not a huge deal for the amount of guest we had, costco and bevmo work great! Julie and Mary are the sweetest. Mary our venue contact, kept me on track with what was happening, what was coming up next, directed me to everyone on the team that i needed. Communication was great, answered all of my questions eased any concerns I had, (not that I had much). Our Caterer, Eco caterers, WOW. Christine from the beginning was incredible. She walked us through each step along the way, and they offer the most delicious food. My guests were raving about the food all night and most got 3rd servings! Dj Shaun kept the party going until a reasonable time, lol. We got married on a Sunday.. like adults! lol. He did such a great job with our song selections for the ceremony and throughout the night. He was tasked with incorporating Greek and Arabic music into both the ceremony and the reception, and he did not disappoint. Our photographers, I cannot express the feelings I felt with them capturing the day. Allie and Brian were PHENOMENAL. Their energy and camera skills caught our wedding in a way that I LITERALLY GASPED when we got our sneak peaks back about 2 weeks later. We opted for a hiring a second photographer for another 4 hours and it was well worth the upgrade. Now for Lily, our month of coordinator. All I did was give her my decor and she ran with it! I had a romantic boho theme vision, and she knocked my socks off. I was so overwhelmed with awe and loved every part of it. She really knows how to bring a girl to tears. All in all the experience we had working with Epic events was so easy and affordable, a blank canvas to create something magical for one of the most important days of your life.

My husband found Lot 8 randomly online and it by looking at the pictures it was perfect for what we had been looking for. I feel like I need to start with the negative first because overall we loved the venue, however I feel this needs to be addressed: Communication. After booking a date with Lot 8 I had attempted to e-mail them on June 2 in regards to hiring a coordinator through them. I received an e-mail on June 6 that they would try and find out, I was expecting maybe a few days till they responded… But I hadn’t heard anything in almost 3 weeks. I also tried calling the phone number on the website and it either went to voicemail and after a few times, the voicemail box was full. I sent other e-mails on June 26, July 9, and finally on July 16 is when I got a response that unfortunately they did not have a coordinator available. That’s 6 weeks to receive an answer. And there was no apology or anything for the delayed response. Thankfully I was able to find a coordinator elsewhere, and even they still had a difficult time getting a hold of them at times. I absolutely loved the venue itself, but this was such an unfortunate occurrence that needs to be addressed, and seeing others reviews I know I am not the only one who has experienced something similar. Planning a wedding from out of state, I heavily relied on photos, videos, and reviews before making the decision to go with this venue. It’s even better in person! The space is simple and perfect for clients to decorate as they wish. I feel like no matter if you have a few decorations or go all-out, the space can accommodate and look beautiful no matter what - you can really make it your own.The greenery on the walls make it feel home-y and the succulent wall is absolutely beautiful!! Our ceremony was elsewhere but we had our reception at Lot 8 with about 60 guests. We had the space all day so we started decorating quite early which was great. Lot 8 is a hidden gem, our guests really enjoyed the venue and even guests who lived in the area were not aware that it was there! Seeing everything come together was absolutely perfect.

My husband and I are so happy we chose Lot 8 for our wedding! Not only are they affordable, but the venue is so unique and the staff is amazing. We knew we wanted an outdoor wedding and we liked the rustic and boho charm of Lot 8. On our actual wedding day, we really liked how the space felt pretty big while still having an intimate feel for our guests. The string lights added a nice ambience, and we just loved everything about the venue from the rustic bar cart to the built in decor, including the tire stack, a mirror wall, and plenty of plants and succulents: we felt like we didn’t have to add much additional decor, which saved us money and made the planning process less stressful. Since Lot 8 is a pretty all inclusive venue, our DJ and photographer were included in the package, which made the planning process way less stressful. Lot 8 also provided us with a list of preferred vendors, and we ended up choosing a caterer and photobooth from this list, which made our lives easier. Overall, the process of planning our wedding was pretty stress free compared to other people we spoke with who planned weddings, and we attribute a lot of this to Lot 8. Kimberly was our coordinator, and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with. From the moment we met her, she was friendly, professional, and on top of her sh*t, so we knew we were in good hands. She made sure to accommodate all of our requests, and on the day of the wedding, she far exceeded our expectations: our table decor and venue looked better than I had imagined, Kimberly took additional photos throughout the night that looked like they were professionally done, and she made sure we had the most amazing night. Overall, we loved this venue, so if you are on the fence about choosing Lot 8 as your wedding venue, just do it! You will not be disappointed, and we cannot emphasize enough how great it was working with Kimberly who really helped us every step of the way to create our dream wedding!

Google
There is a lot I could say about this beautiful venue, but I will keep it short. The venue is so beautiful and in a great location. We loved everything about it, our coordinators Kimberly and Julia were the absolute best and made sure our day was perfect (if I could, I would write a whole essay about how great they were). Our photographers Ani and Ashley were amazing! Our DJ, DJShy did a great job at keeping the party going and playing great music. Also, big shoutout to Mary, Kendra, and Jimmy.

This venue goes above and beyond. We had our 150 person wedding here. They are responsive to your emails and questions. The venue itself is amazing! Succulents, Wood wall workings, and quirky extras like a horse trailer. It is a beautiful venue. It has very nice bathrooms, plenty of room for the caterers, bartending, churro catering, dance floor, ceremony, ect. Thank you Lot 8 for allowing us to have our wedding here.

Google
Spacious outdoor venue with wood walls and succulent decorations. As a DJ I was hired for a private event here and it was easy to load in equipment, and the acoustics were good with the sound system. The venue staff was pleasant and easy to work with as well.

Yelp
Kimberly was an amazing wedding coordinator throughout the wedding! Our daughter's day was magical and we didn't have to worry about anything but enjoying the moment because she handled everything all evening! Loved the wall succulents and lighting that give it an extra touch.

Yelp
It's spacious Other things depend on the person renting this place so can't say much. that's about it later

Yelp
We had our wedding at Lot8 in June 2023 and it was perfect! The look and feel of the space is very Southern California and despite being located so close to the 8, it feels very private as well. Decor-wise, the space does the heavy lifting for you so any additional decor can be minimal (flowers, vases, candles, etc). We booked our DJ (Shaun) and photographers (Ella and Brian) through Epic Events, which owns Lot8, and I really recommend doing so. It made the logistics so much easier and is a much better value compared to bringing in outside vendors for these roles. Kim was our coordinator, assigned to us about a month or so in advance of the wedding, and she was really wonderful. She helped coordinate our many DIYs (flowers, decor, alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks, desserts) and their drop-offs, arrangement, etc on the day of the wedding (and the afternoon beforehand). She also makes sure that everything runs smoothly in background on the day of your wedding so that you can totally enjoy the party and your guests. We used an outside caterer (URBN Pizza) and the logistics of that were very smooth as well. We did, however, plan in advance for who would run food, bus tables, clean-up and breakdown the set up of tables, etc. with a combination of staff from the caterer and Epic Events. All of our friends and family spoke really highly of the event space, and all of the staff involved in our wedding and reception. Can't recommend this place enough!

Yelp
I had the pleasure of attending a work event at this venue, and it was absolutely wonderful! The setup is gorgeous, and very modern. With plenty of comfortable seating and the option to set up in many ways to change the vibe for the event you want to throw. The area was nice and tucked away giving perfect opportunity for privacy.

Yelp
Lot 8 was a great outdoor venue for our wedding of about 70 guests. It is full of greenery and succulents and didn't need a lot of extra decor. Julie and Mary with Epic Events Group and Christine with Eco Caters, were so accommodating and understanding through the entire process and I couldn't have asked to plan my wedding with a better team :) Our day-of-wedding coordinator, Ela, was a joy to work with. She was kind, and did a great job with extra details that I wanted added. She was very attentive and made sure that everything went smoothly. My guests loved the food provided by Eco Caters and some went back for seconds. We opted for the second bartender, knowing our crowd might be more on the demanding side, and the bartenders were very professional and our guests really enjoyed their drinks. As a note, you do have to provide all of the cups, ice, liquor, garnishes etc. for the bar but that was simple with Costco. We were able to drop everything off around 12pm the day of the wedding with help of family and friends. The ice was dropped off closer to 2pm to try and prevent a lot of melting. And if your wedding is going to be on a cooler night, you will want to rent propane tanks for the heat lamps. DJ Shaun was AMAZING and kept the party going just we as we asked during our consultation. I would definitely recommend him as your DJ if choosing Lot 8. Pastor William was responsive, kind, and so easy to work with. He took our notes of how we wanted the ceremony to go and executed it perfectly. Florist Jerri Disney, took my vision of simple greenery and cream and made it a beautiful reality. I love what she did with my bridal bouquet and all of the florals at the wedding. She took everything into consideration when planning her designs and was communicative the whole way. Kristina Joy with Epic Studios is a PHENOMENAL photographer! She was prompt, professional and I am in love with the moments she captured throughout the day. We had an amazing day thanks to all the those at Lot 8. Any issues that arose during the day were handled promptly and professionally. I highly recommend Lot 8 to anyone looking to plan a wedding in the San Diego area!

Yelp
We had our wedding at Lot 8 in November 2023, and it was a great experience. The venue is very reasonably priced, and it included photographer and DJ which made it a great value (we chose to use outside caterers). The venue is very cutely decorated with lots of greenery on the walls. This makes decorating very easy. You really don't need to add much because it already has a lot of charm. It also holds a surprisingly high amount of people very comfortably (we had about 130 guests). The location is very centrally located as well and right in Hotel Circle for out of town guests. Kimberley was our coordinator, and I have nothing but high praises for her. She made sure everything we discussed was executed perfectly, and I felt very comfortable in her hands. We were assigned Mike as our photographer, and my husband and I could not have been happier. He was so friendly and made us feel at ease from the very beginning. The pictures also came out great! Highly recommend him! DJ Carlos/Harmz was our assigned DJ. We met a month before the wedding so he could understand what we were looking for. He not only played all the songs we requested but 100% listened to implemented what we had discussed. We got a lot of compliments on our music. We were very happy with our wedding day, and would definitely recommend Lot 8!

Yelp
This venue is AMAZING. I'm a wedding photographer that regularly designs and photographs styled weddings. During planning for my white floral boho shoot, I was in search of an outdoor venue in San Diego and came across Lot 8. Let me just say that this is a little hidden piece of paradise in Mission Valley. You'd never know it's here unless you're looking for it and that is totally the initial appeal for me. The venue is an open air space enclosed by the most gorgeous wood plank walls, succulents everywhere, the PONY BAR!!!! Ugh, I could go on and on. I sent in an inquiry about holding my shoot there and got in touch with Nikala. She was part time at that time, and is now the full time venue manager - oh my gosh, she is literally one of the sweetest people I've worked with in the industry. She was so accommodating, helpful and fun to work with during the planning phase of my shoot, and when the big day came - event day! - she was there at the venue helping us with everything we needed. I can't forget this either... because all business aside, it meant SO MUCH to me personally. When I initially toured the venue, I apologized to Nikala about being a hot mess in messy hair and yoga pants because my 8 month old baby was preparing to go into a major surgery a couple days later - I was really an emotional wreck. She literally checked in with me the day of his surgery to wish us luck and send her thoughts our way. I couldn't believe it... never had a met a vendor who was so caring about a personal situation I was experiencing. That one act literally solidified how much of a winner this venue is. Thank you Lot 8, and seriously - thank you Nikala!!! I can't thank you enough for being amazing for my shoot, but also being amazing people with good hearts. I can't wait to use Lot 8 again!!! *attached are 6 of my images from my shoot*

Yelp
This is a cute outdoor event space. I attended an event that was located at "Lot 8" and was pleasantly surprised how cute, spacious, and well decorated it was. Lot 8 is located behind Hotel Atwood in a parking lot. It's an enclosed venue and no shade. Our event was later in the evening so shade wasn't an issue as the sun was setting at the time. Parking can be street parking or in the Hotel Atwood lot that is adjoined to the eateries. This is small venue meant for a couple of hundred people. The decor was actually really nice with succulent walls and wall planters. There are some benches to sit as well, but not very many. Depending on your event, you may want to have more seating.

Yelp
They lose a star for lack of communication from Nikala@lot8events.com never replied over at least a 6 month period, I had to visit to get another associates email. I booked lot 8 over a year prior to my wedding. Everything there was so beautiful! There were some small things that were forgotten, like soap in the bathroom. And trying to contact someone what a nightmare after I booked it. HOWEVER, I Ended up talking to Megan and Abi and they both were just the bee's knees! FINALLY answered all the questions I had, let me just walk up and plan ahead what wonderful people! The venue is amazing! I regret not getting table cloths, but they have wood tables with metal legs and the tops of the tables gave some guest splinters. So in that sense, I would recommend getting THICC table cloths, but EVERYTHING ELSE WAS GREAT! I wish I could get married again so I could celebrate here once more!

Yelp
This venue is amazing! Working with the Epic Events Group to have our wedding at Lot 8 in September 2022 was truly wonderful and seamless. Our wedding went smoothly and better than we could have ever hoped for. One thing to note, if you are the type of couple that needs vendor responses ASAP or are trying to plan a wedding in a very short amount of time, I might not recommend this venue to you. The venue is BUSY and the team can only respond so fast to each of its couples. Nonetheless, they are on top of planning your wedding and make sure to have everything in place based on the timeline they set out for you. With a little patience, you will definitely receive a response to all your emails or calls. Plus, they were kind enough to let us have meetings earlier than the timeline noted, which made the months leading up to our wedding significantly less stressful. Everyone we worked with was kind, communicative, flexible, and easy to work with. Plus our guests loved the unique venue and had a fabulous time.

Yelp
I can't even begin to explain how magical Lot 8 is and how amazing Megan and Nikala are! Both of these ladies are such beautiful souls who love what they do and take care of you as well! We just got married there and it was the perfect venue to say I do at and the perfect venue to party the night away. Lot 8 just added a high ceiling roof to one side of the venue too and that roof made that side of the venue look bigger and so cozy especially with the market lights. The walls are covered in greenery and succulents which added such a beautiful touch which actually helped with my florist cost with not having to get so much haha. Honestly I will be doing more events here at Lot 8 in the future. We had Megan as our coordinator and she is AMAZING! She is so kind and literally works her butt off to make sure your wedding will be perfect from the start of when you sign a contract all the way to the end! On the day of my wedding it was raining in the morning and she reassured me not to worry and that my day would be amazing, one the roof helped lol and two she literally did everything to make sure the rain wouldn't ruin the wedding look I had asked for. Well the rain stopped before we said I Do and Megan delivered on my dream wedding. She went over and beyond to make sure I was happy and that I had everything the way I envisioned it and also made sure we ran on time and that the reception ran smoothly. When I walked into the venue and saw my vision I saw on paper in real life I wanted to cry because it was even better. Your wedding day is such an important day- one you, your family and friends will always remember and here almost 4 days later I still get tears thinking about how amazing my day was and how beautiful my magical moody wedding was. Ladies! So you need a coordinator for the month or day of of your wedding. It's like a must lol so please go through Lot 8 and use Megan or Nikala. I promise you that they won't let you down. Thank you LOT 8 for everything - I'm truly grateful for all the love and kindness you showed me!! I could write more but I don't want this review to be like 12 pages long hahaha. Lot 8 will always have my support and my vote!! I will add more pictures when I get them in!

Garrett K.

Yelp
Lot 8 made our wedding day PERFECT. People said it was the "best wedding ever" nbd haha. We truly owe our gratitude to the Epic Events staff and this beautiful venue. All of their vendor recommendations were spectacular and our day of coordinator, Bianca, was an absolute god send. I cannot recommend this venue enough, it was truly fantastic. And when it's winding down, we could all just stumble back to our hotel rooms without driving or waiting on an Uber. A++++

Yelp
My wife and I got married in August of 2021. It's all inclusive . They cover the venue , tables , chairs , napkins , plates , dj , photographer , daily wedding coordinator, bartenders, cater (food) , ceremony and reception can all be done at their location . Plenty of parking for guests and plenty of hotel options around the venue ( call around and asks about group rates if you don't like the hotel lot 8 suggest or works with ) biggest plus is it's BYOB which you can go to Costco and Load up on $1,000 worth of alcohol and it's plenty for a party size of 100 ppl . Also double check your contract , we paid for 1 security guard and after talking with multiple people nobody saw a security guard . I don't want to complain over $200 for a security guard but if it was in contract and we didn't see one , there's an issue . So definitely ask about that . So I'll start with management and communication. We had regular contact between Julie and Mary that work for Epic Events which owns Lot 8 . I can tell that Lot 8 is there new purchase and they have more knowledge about the other locations they own and operate for weddings / events . Don't expect communication to be 100% . I am assuming they are working remotely because out of the 7-10 times we called the "work numbers " nobody picked up . 9am , 1030am , 1pm ,330pm didn't matter what time my wife and I never got anyone to ever pick up the phone . Emails are the only way you'll get a response and when you email someone in the morning they don't respond til the following day . (Plenty of emails to show proof for anyone that disagrees ) you will be the one reaching out for meetings , just letting you know . We had 2 different wedding coordinators assigned to us since our first one quit (4 weeks before the wedding, after we sat down with her and went over everything of what we expected ) and assigned us Jazmine . Ohhhh Jazmine , she's nice , but I will say she lives in the moment , and there's no urgency with her . Let me start a new paragraph for this During the rehearsal Jazmine said we can drop off the coolers , ice (yes they don't provide ice so you'll have to buy it the day of ) alcohol and other props at 11am the day of the wedding . Starts at 4pm btw . We show up and nobody was there to open the venue . Myself , 4 other groomsmen are sitting ducks with all the items outside the venue . Keep in mind we have the photographer and videographer we hired showing up at 130 to start taking pics of us getting ready back at the hotel . Jazmine responds back through text after repeatedly calling her to get someone to open the venue . Time we left was 1230 . Great , an hour to get ready at the hotel . My sister-in-law calls me and says the florist arrived at the venue and nobody is there to show her where to drop off the flowers and to let us know there was nobody there and no tables were out or set up , set up the vases and centerpieces (1245 pm) she left all the flowers on a side table . I contacted family members to show up at the venue at 2pm to see what the heck was going on over there . Jazmine arrived at 2pm the same time they got there . My aunts said nothing , NOTHING was set up . My aunts got to work and practically set up the entire venue themselves (yes Jazmine helped ) but my aunts had a ear full to tell me weeks later after the wedding . If they did not show up the venue would've not been complete. Do not trust Lot 8 to set up your Decor (even tho they give you a wedding coordinator????) The good parts now :) photography team was incredible. We hired 2 photographers because we didn't want them to Miss a shot . They will set up a appointment through zoom and cover very thing from the first look to the end of the night with you . I highly recommend you start them early , take your first look photos and bridal party photos before the wedding . That way you can enjoy cocktail hour with family and friends ! The photography team was awesome . They are very responsive with emails and text messages Now time for the Dj . He sets up a zoom video and goes over a timeline of what to expect and has you pick all the songs for certain parts ( first dance , money dance songs , first kiss , music during dinner , cocktail hour etc ) absolutely killed it ! Catering company eco catering : they set up a date for you to try everything. Chef nick did a excellent job . We went with the Italian cuisine . They were very responsive through emails . In the end , the wedding turned out incredible. It was definitely a party to remember. For 100 ppl and everything I mentioned above you pay under $14,000 for a Friday night . (This doesn't include a 2nd photographer, videographer, your alcohol, ice , florist ) 2nd photographer cost around $400 to add to your package . I really wanted to give a 5 star review but between all the negatives I mentioned above they really deserve a 3 star and can work on the improvements above for future 5 star reviews

Yelp
We were here tonight for our friend's wedding. I was pleasantly surprised by how adorable/hip/chic this venue is! It is tucked in the middle of the Hotel Circle area in Mission Valley. There is a designated parking lot for the guests of Lot 8- which is awesome in this area. The wedding was at night and they had nice heat lamps all over. It was beautiful!

Yelp
I went to a charity event at lot 8 last night. What a great venue. It was clean well decorated and had great amenities. The party started at 6 so the sun wasn't a problem and it stayed a comfortable temperature well into the night.

Yelp
Neat venue. I like the upcycled items. From tires holding succulent plants, wood fencing and pallets made into plant holders. The venue is outdoors on a black asphalt lot. There is some bench seating along the walls. And room for tables and chairs to be set up. Parking can be a challenge. However it looked lile they were working on this. And they were working on vamping up the sidewalks. This venue has potential. Not recommended for really large crowds. More smaler crowds to still be able to think that the venue is still desirable.

Yelp
I couldn't even put into words how incredible it was to work with Inga, Emily and Nick of Lot 8! We had the launch party for our company here in September 2017. It was incredibly successful and so beautiful. The space was big and enough of a blank canvas for us to create exactly what we had envisioned. As soon as the sun started to set the space just become more beautiful with he market lighting, silhouettes of the palm trees and the incredible succulents dripping out of the walls. You can make this space whatever you want it to be!

Yelp
I had my wedding here last month! It was so beautiful, the succulent walls made for effortless decor. The coordinator, Nikala, was a dream to work with. Everyone was very flexible from the walk through, to the rehearsal, to the actual event, to picking up all my decor the next day! A HUGE thanks to Emily, Nick and Nikala! Such a beautiful job from a staff who put their hearts into their work!!

Such a beautiful lot with so much potential! I came for a blogger event and loved the lay out. They had really nice decorative walls, a little bar, bathrooms, a kitchen and so many cute photo opps. This would be the perfect venue for a small wedding. Also parking is free at the hotel next to the lot.

Yelp
I was just at a wedding at Lot 8, and was pleasantly surprised with it's charm. Once you walk in you forget you're in Hotel Circle . It's really a hidden gem. If you have any events coming up give them a call, as I hear it's very affordable !

Yelp
Love this space. I've been for a weeding and was blown away at how it looked. I completely forgot I was in Hotel Circle with the decor, visible surroundings and everything inside. I would definitely recommend this space for a wedding, company event, and other large parties.

Yelp
This is a great outdoor venue. It's close to everything: downtown, the beaches, and airport, making it an easy location for your guest to get to. Although it's located in mission valley, once you step inside, you totally forget your right in the middle of everything. They have done a wonderful job on designing this venue. They also work along side some great top notch organic vendors!

Yelp
Nikala and Megan are great and easy-going to work with. Availability for site visits and walk throughs with little notice helped tremendously as I helped plan with the Bride, Groom and vendors. Lot 8 is a wonderful event space for weddings and intimate events. Greenery, succulents and natural wood and earth tones made it easy to theme and decorate. I look forward to hosting another event here in the future!

Yelp
We are so happy we chose lot 8 for our wedding venue. Megan was amazing from start to finish. She helped take all of the stress off of our special day. I would recommend this venue and Megan with out any hesitation!!!!!

Yelp
On the evening of Saturday January 27 2018 I hosted a memorial gathering at Lot 8. My son died suddenly in January when he was in his thirties. Lot 8 was the perfect place for my son's friends to come together, reconnect or meet for the first time, share stories and photos, food and drinks. Lot 8 was a great venue next to the Atwood Hotel, where many out of town guests were staying before my son's memorial & our Saturday evening gathering. Lot 8 is a lovely outdoor setting in Mission Valley with a beautiful framing at sunset, palm trees and succulent plantings. There are round tables and chairs as well as bench seating. The lighting after dark is charming and there are patio heaters for a cool night. Nikala took a personal interest in helping me plan every detail from catered food and drink recommendations & quantities. Lot 8 staff on site was very helpful throughout the evening. Ample free parking is available on street and in an adjacent lot. Katherine F.
