"Located on the 38th floor with sweeping views of Seoul’s dynamic urban jungle below, Mugunghwa is a modern Korean restaurant. The cooking is based on the basic principle that dictated Eastern medicine — that food and medicine are essentially the same. Creating modern cuisine firmly rooted in traditional Korean fare, the chef is constantly studying to bring the tastiest yet also the healthiest dishes to the table." - Michelin Inspector

"Momoyama is a sophisticated Japanese restaurant located on the 38th floor of Lotte Hotel Seoul. The kitchen team offers a wide selection of Japanese cuisine from the traditional yest refined haute cuisine kaiseki-ryōri, to sushi to the one-pot nabemono and even chazuke (cooked rice steeped in hot tea, dashi or hot water). The chef is especially meticulous with ingredients, which he personally procures directly from producers. Momoyama also has an impressive sake selection, selected by a sake sommelier." - Michelin Inspector

Worst service. Cannot believe it's a 5-star hotel. Deeply disappointed with poor standard, everything from reception, concierge, to housekeeping. I thought Koreans were kind and nice? I'm never coming back to this country thanks to this hotel's nightmare. If you want great location with rock-bottom lowly service, and if you to feel like you need to beg them to treat you properly, even though you're paying USD 300~500 per night, then feel free to choose this place.

Very convenient location with English friendly staff who help you navigate and can also answer any questions you have. Rooms are clean and well maintained and contains multilingual signs everywhere. This hotel is within walking distance to MANY shopping, restaurants, and transportation and itself has an underground connection to the mall and subway, so you do NOT need to step outside to get somewhere if the weather is bad - at least from the hotel side. Will update to add more to this review once I get near a computer when I return from this trip.

We booked the hotel for one night.|The location of the hotel is a plus, especially there is a shopping center in the basement of the hotel. The staff is helpful and welcoming.|The room was a letdown. It was too small| And the bathroom didn't have a walking shower only a bathtub. Which would be challenging for seniors. There was no enough light in the room and it was kind of dated.|I was expecting a room that is more luxurious for the price.

We had four nights in the hotel, in a Deluxe room with club room access. The room was spacious and well appointed but some aspects of the room looked a bit tired which you wouldn’t expect in a five star hotel. Club room access included breakfast (extensive with Asian and Western cuisines), afternoon tea (modest selection) and happy hour (6-8pm). The dining space in the room was functional rather than luxurious. We also had dinner at Mugunghwa and Toh Lim restaurants in the hotel. Both were excellent. All the staff were superb. Extensive leisure facilities which we didn’t have time to make use of - enormous gym, swimming pool and driving range. Very well located for shopping and sightseeing.

Amazing location (right beside myeongdong streets), staff and services were excellent as well. Not to mention the comprehensive gym. One of the better hotels I have stayed, would definitely visit if I am coming back to Seoul.

Having had previous hotel service experience and travelling worldwide. The saving grace from this hotel is the staff from the Lotte fitness facility - Mr. Kwon! Mr. K Kwon was superb, knowledgeable, and helpful during each visit in the the gym. He made up from other's lackluster customer service. Additionally, the guest service and housekeeping department made sure that the room was tidy/cleaned daily, including transportation requirements. However, front desk staff provided very little to no efforts in highlighting basic hotel information and what's included in the room reservation. It felt like I was asking for favor each time I asked a question.

Stayed for 4 nights. As other reviewers state, highly priced in all levels. Hotel focus on exterior presentations such as Lobby and other public areas. Rooms need much attention (main building) and lacks details that we experienced with Marriott and Hyatt brands. We wanted to experience Lotte Brands and not satisfied…staffs are courteous but lack considerations on details. Excellent location in Myungdong but there are many choices that offer both competitive pricing and services.

Recently we were in Japan and South Korea with our family and friends. The hotel is nice and is conveniently located near several markets including Myeongdong and insadong. From our room we could see sunrise from one side and sunset from the other side which was a unique experience. I heard from my friends the breakfast was really good and had a lot of variety and choices. Since we were travelling with a group of 10 people, I found it very strange that they have no sofas or chairs for friends to meet up and relax. The first-floor lobby of the entire hotel is totally empty. This is perhaps the first 5-star hotel that I have ever been to that lacked a basic necessity.
