13 Miami Starters That Are The Main Event - Miami - The Infatuation

"Gnawing through this salad loaded with shrimp and pork belly is an omnivore’s dream. The pickled lotus root, purple cabbage, and bright pink rice crackers have enough crunch and texture to make a seven-hour ASMR episode titled The Last Salad. For an extra $5, you can swap those rice crackers for housemade crab crackers. Book at least two weeks out if you’re looking for a reasonable Saturday night table. But if you stink at planning, expect to sit outside. The sidewalk tables are for walk-ins, and you can call (they usually answer) before you head over to see how long the wait is. If you go towards the end of service, you might be able to find a couple of open bar seats." - virginia otazo, mariana trabanino, mariana trabanino, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino, mariana trabanino, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino, mariana trabanino, virginia otazo, virginia otazo, virginia otazo, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino, virginia otazo

Kaliwa ‘Is a Trip,’ Says Tom Sietsema | Eater DC

"After many visits I conclude the Vienna eatery is a pretty good Cantonese restaurant for this region, with wonderful pulled noodles. The dishes don’t disappoint, though many skew gloppy and heavy and can get a little boring after a while; still, it’s better than most Cantonese places in the area and worth giving a try." - Tierney Plumb

Google
This place has one of the best noodles in the DMV as they make it fresh for your meal. Additionally, all other choices on menu are done very well and is very authentic Chinese cuisine. One slight negative is that during busy times is can be slow as they are understaffed. But it is worth the wait. Will definitely put Lotus Garden into our regular rotation.

Google
The food here is truly authentic, which may not be for everyone. But if you have a palate for genuine Chinese cuisine, this is the spot. The duck, salt & pepper shrimp, lobster w ginger & scallions, and the branzino are all my go-to dishes; always flavorful and satisfying.

I come back here for the food, hand pulled noodles and soup. Nothing fancy but the food is worth it. Once in awhile you crave that taste that you just can't really find just everywhere. Went there with a larger group today and they were busy. Props to the servers who are running around to fulfill needy customer requests. There's a window in the kitchen where the cooks hand pull the noodles so you know what you're getting. I'm vegetarian and I'm just glad they have veggie options. Again the plate is not multitude or flavors but it's the simple kind of flavors that's just done right and always consistent.

Google
While rolling through here you might imagine that Lotus Garden is just a typical Chinese restaurant but to their credit, while they have some of the usual cliches on the menu, they do some of these very very well. I recommend the sweet & sour chicken and you can specially order things like beef and snow peas which was a fresh delight when prepared as a special order. Service is good, quiet and non intrusive. Portions are generous so there's some take home and a fortune cookie tops it all off. Recommended

Google
If you're in search of authentic, delicious Chinese food, this is the place to be. It's a testament to its authenticity that most of its customers are native. As far as I know, this is the only spot where you can get fresh, hand-pulled noodles—if you know of others, please let me know! As a vegetarian, my favorite dish is the vegetable special egg noodles with string beans. The ambiance can be chaotic when it's busy, but I see that as a sign of a great restaurant, as the flavor never disappoints. I've already eaten here twice this week. The only improvement needed is the service; when it gets hectic, the servers often forget to bring water, napkins, or other requested items, as they seem to be understaffed most of the time. So, most of the time, I just go up to the counter and request or grab it myself, which solves the issue. Overall, I would highly recommend it! Their red chili oil is one of the best I have had, and the portions are huge for the price. Just be patient, as English is not the primary language of most of the servers, so there might be some communication barriers, but I can tell they are doing their best.

Google
Having been to a few other Chinese restaurants in the area, this blows them out of the water! The food is authentic as you can get, especially how you can see the chef making the noodles fresh. The meal was crafted with love, and I definitely will be coming back here a lot!

Google
I can’t believe I just discovered this place after living here for so long! I randomly stumbled upon it, and it was exactly what I’d been looking for. I’m pretty sure it’s Cantonese-style Chinese food, and if you’re after that classic roast duck and crispy pork hanging in the window—along with authentic, non-Americanized dishes—this is the spot. There were so many things I wanted to try, but we settled on Hunan beef, roast duck, vegetable lo mein, and Buddha’s Delight. We shared everything family-style, though I’m pretty sure I ate most of it myself! The flavors were incredibly authentic and unforgettable. The menu is huge, making it tough to choose, but I can’t wait to go back and try more!

Xun G.

Google
I’ve been there many times, but the food isn’t as good as it used to be. The portions are smaller and the prices are higher. We spent about $200 and left a 13% tip, but a man—maybe the owner—said right in front of us, “They only gave 13%,” as if that was unacceptable. We didn’t receive any service beyond just getting our food, so how much are we expected to tip? 18%? Sorry, but I really don’t want to. I won’t be going back again. It’s fine if they don’t care about losing a few customers, but I don’t want to encourage this kind of forced tipping—especially at a Chinese restaurant.

Yelp
Service isn't always there but the food hits. One of the more authentic Chinese restaurants out there and I love that they have hand pulled noodles. If you get lucky, you'll even see them making it through the window! My go to is always the spicy fried pork chops but this time I also tried the lamb noodle soup and was pleasantly surprised! The knife cut noodles were chewy and delicious. The lamb also wasn't gamey at all Wished I lived closer so I could always get their food! P.S. the chili oil is

Yelp
We used to frequent this place when lived in Vienna. Our most recent experience was quite disappointing. The beef in pulled noodle tasted like wood and tough to chew and swallow. The price for everything went up but with much lower quantity and quality. Not sure if they had a management change or what, the service has also gone down quite a bit. Don't think we would come back especially we no longer live close by.

Yelp
We used to love this place for family and friends gatherings. I wish they could maintain a good standard of their food. It just seems there were a lot of personnel changes in our last couple of visits - from waiters, waitresses, to management and kitchen chefs. Yes, we enjoy seeing the hand pulled noodles and knife noodles every time our visit, but we have to stop ordering them because the soups are full of MSG, and so are many other dishes. So much MSG that you will feel thirsty all night and drink a gallon of water after dinner. I also noticed the portion of some dishes have shrunk in the past month. Finally, perhaps in an effort to lower the cost during a tight economy to survive, some of the veggies used in the dish we ordered were not as fresh as before. The waiter offered to change it to another dish after we pointed it out. I appreciate it. But I would not serve it to anyone in the first place. If the ingredient is bad, it needs to be thrown away. In all, the service was good and welcoming. But the owner really needs to work on the quality of their ingredients and healthy choices of food.

Thomas G.

Yelp
Horrible experience. The food wasn't what I was expected and was really bad* so I didn't eat it, tried to be quiet about is so as not to disrupt others' dining experience. But the waitress made a loud spectacle over the fact I wasn't eating that she ruined the meal not only for my table but also the other tables around us, too. She wouldn't leave us alone until I assured her that I would pay for it even though I wasn't going to eat any of it; in the end that was her only concern. i*Chun King makes better Chinese food.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to get Chinese take-out in the Vienna area. No matter what you get the food is plentiful, delicious, and authentic. One of the best dishes on the menu is their hand pulled beef noodle soup. The fresh noodles really makes a difference, it's so bouncy and springy in your mouth and the broth is like a warm hug from a grandma. I'm a sucker for chicken fried rice, sesame chicken, and pan fried noodles and they do these dishes a solid here. I never leave disappointed. The interior reminds me of the old Chinese restaurants I used to frequent as a kid with the roasted ducks and bbq pork in the windows. They have lots of seating and it is always full of families sharing big platters of food. It's nothing fancy but places like these are truly a neighborhood gem!

Sarah C.

Yelp
They need to work on their hygiene. I placed an order online during lunch and waited in store. Another guy comes in complaining about hair in their untouched food. When I got mine, I decided to check and make sure it was ok, but I found a bug in the fried rice and was horrified. Also the fried rice doesn't look like it has any vegetables. Just burnt rice fried in oil. Won't be going back.

Yelp
Very average. As a vegetarian, I much prefer Dumpling Queen or Hans Palace. Pros: The ambiance is fine. Some music and better lighting would help, but overall, good. 3/5 Cons: Service is very poor. The gentlemen who served us was very unfriendly and had an attitude. 1/5. Food was average. The crispy noodles were stale. The hot and sour soup was actually on the sweeter side and same for the Kung Pao Tofu, too - which wasn't good. The fried rice was decent though. Overall, with the lackluster service, I give this place 2.5/5. I am rounding it down here because I didn't feel there was any effort in making the food or our experience better.

Yelp
Maybe I need to try something else here, but the beef noodle soup I got was subpar and on top of that, the service was rude. They showed a lot of attitude and were overall very unpleasant. I don't usually care for service if the food is good, but my food was not good and the service was terrible. Overall, 2.5/5 but will bump up to a 3/5 since I don't think it was bad enough to get a 2/5. BEEF NOODLE SOUP - 13.95 You can see the chefs pull the noodles in the back which is impressive. I told my server I didn't want any cilantro in my noodles, but I ended up getting a massive amount of cilantro in mine. So when I asked if they could give me one without it, our server looked at me in disbelief and said, "you can't take them out yourself?" They reluctantly took my noodles back and brought it back five minutes later. Okay, thanks. Overall, the noodle soup was quite subpar. The broth was light and enjoyable, but you can tell it was heavily seasoned with MSG as my mouth was dry within the next five minutes. There was a good amount of beef and bokchoy, which was nice. The beef was flavorless and tough, and overall not great. The noodles were super soggy and very starchy, which I didn't enjoy. There was also way too much noodles for the ratio. Maybe I should have gotten something else like the duck or other Chinese entrees? Overall, not a good experience this time around.

Yelp
Was teetering between a 3 and a 4 star and landed on 4 because of the eggplant casserole. Overall lotus garden looks and feels like your typical Chinese restaurant. They have a collection of American Chinese selection as well as more traditional Chinese choices. We primarily stuck with the Chinese choices for this time around and they were fine. Some dishes better than the other. The highlights were definitely the eggplant and casserole as well as the beef noodle soup. Both were extremely flavorful and went great with rice. Will probably be back to try more dishes if we're in the area, but probably won't go out of our way to hit it up.

Yelp
A tastey Chinese restaurant! This restaurant is a little out of the way and easy to miss when driving because it's in a small strip of shops. But once you go there once, you'll definitely be back again. There's a glass window that pears into the kitchen, and you're able to see the professional chefs at work. The noodles are so fresh- you actually see them being shaved straight into the pot! I love that food comes out when it's ready so it's piping hot. We (party of two) ordered three dishes in all that came out staggered, so minimum wait to get your grub on. I never feel rushed by the servers and enjoyed the meal from beginning to end. Looking forward to coming back again

Yelp
Great authentic Chinese food! -catered takeout for a family banquet, it was exceptional

Robert B.

Yelp
Food so so. Recently asked for very crisp sweet and sour chicken; came back soft batter. Worst of all the tea had a clorox aftertaste. Decor is dark, tables black & room dark. No music just news Chinese.

Yelp
We visited the restaurant several times last year and earlier this year and had enjoyed ourselves. We like the hand-pulled noodles with beef broth and the beef is tender, the traditional Cantonese eggplant stew, the pickled cabbage with beef. The service was good and the food was authentic.

Yelp
I had a great experience here. Stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Service was prompt and friendly. Ordered chicken w cashew lunch, it was delicious!

Yelp
This place continually surprises.... Tonight had a early Wednesday dinner at 5pm... figured they wouldn't be busy yet... surprise two large tables filled ... no prob as I know they can handle things Tonight hubby wanted frog legs and they have a variety of choices. He opted for the frog and garlic in casserole as we knew there would be additional veggies... there were snow peas, carrots, mushrooms, and whole garlic in a very tasty brown sauce... served sizzling hot in a casserole. I opted for a previous fav of their garlic chicken... basically deep fried chicken with garlic (lots), and green onion. You can either order as a half or whole! We also started with bbq ribs... sweet and yummy severed on a bed of pickled jicama So many more things to explore. Sometimes the staff doesn't speak great English but all are helpful. While they have more Americanized things... trust me and order what sounds good

Yelp
A solid 5/5! Decided to try this place out since a friend mentioned that they serve hand-pulled noodles. So obviously, I had to try a place that made their own noodles from scratch. And I can say, I was not disappointed at all! The food was delicious and left me in a food coma for hours. The Food: I went with the Roast Pork Hand-Pulled Noodles as my main entree and had some crab Rangoons as an appetizer. The roast pork was good, had a decent char on the outside but was quickly soaked up by the broth. The broth was delicious! It had a ton of flavor and spices, adding chili oil definitely took it up a notch. As for the noodles, they were cooked well and had a nice volume to it. They also generously give you a ton of noodles as well, so if you're looking to carb up, I'd come here! The Service: The staff were friendly and we were seated immediately. The food was brought out to us in a timely manner and the whole restaurant was spacious and definitely has that authentic feel. Overall, a solid 5/5 for the food/service. I'll be coming back for sure.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in Vienna. We have been coming here for years with a pause during the pandemic. The food is still hot, flavorful, and authentically delicious. The aunties who work the tables are no nonsense and get you the food quickly along with anything else you need. The interior is nice and they've maintained it well since the last renovation a couple of years ago.
google avatar

Yelp
They overcharge and roundup. Prices are really high for just Chinese food. What would be normally $12-13 is $20 here. There dinner is the same size as their lunch and does not come with a spring roll. Really disappointed, though the food has flavor and reasonably good just not worth the price.
google avatar

Yelp
Authentic Chinese dishes the whole family loved. Plenty of food from each dinner meal to share. Seafood portions were very adequate.

Yelp
Been here a few times and have only gotten their famous hand-pulled noodles, and they're worth it. Noodles always taste fresh and have good texture. The broth for their beef noodle soups is really good- the broth isn't too rich and the flavor shines through. Will be back to try more of the menu, but I definitely recommend the hand-pulled noodles.
google avatar

Heather F.

Yelp
Legit Chinese food like you are in China! The noodles were incredible! All fresh and home made!
google avatar

Chris D. R.

Yelp
Good authentic Chinese food! Service isn't that great though that's why I gave 4 star rating but good enough. My favorite spot for egg noodle soup and pan fried noodles.
google avatar

Emily G.

Yelp
Lotus Garden proved to be an amazing spot to enjoy hot soup on a stormy night! All of us tried a different hand-pulled noodle broth dish (beef brisket, duck, pork). Needless to say, we licked our bowls clean and our bellies were left more than content. The noodles are made fresh in the restaurant - you can watch them make it as there is a view into the kitchen! The broths are all sooo flavorful, I would argue to say their hand-pulled noodle broths are better than pho. Highly recommend coming here if you like authentic Chinese food, with fast and polite service!

Yelp
Husband and I dropped in on a Monday night. He ordered the Peking duck which was absolutely incredible. Super crispy skin, beautiful scallions, thin pancakes, and plum sauce to die for. I ordered the combo lo mein. The noodles were perfect, garlicky goodness with lots of meat and several plump shrimp. We shared it all. I have no idea why this place is not packed every night. We will definitely be back. So good!

Yelp
I'm giving them three stars to average out the five-star food and the one-star service. We went on a Friday evening, were given a table, and were ignored for quite some time, even though it didn't seem to be very full -- there were a couple large parties, and some other tables in use, but still several empty tables. We got menus, and were ignored for another quite-a-while. We ordered, including the Chrysanthemum Tea... the waitress said something about Jasmine Tea and hustled off before we could inquire whether that's what was really meant on the menu, or what. Either way, we didn't get even our tea (let alone food, though I realize duck soup takes a while) for a Very Long Time. The waitress did see us and remember something about tea after what seemed like at least half an hour... and still didn't bring it for what seemed like at least ten more minutes... and then it was, as far as I could tell, plain green tea. Eventually we did get our duck soup, and it was in fact very good, with fresh hand-pulled noodles and all. As you may have guessed, it was quite a long wait for the check after we were done, including trying for about five minutes to flag down a waitress. And in case you were wondering, as we had been... yes, the check still had the more expensive Chrysanthemum Tea on it. Might be worth going at some very off hour, or to pick up carryout . . . but I would not recommend it at all for dine-in at normal dinner times.

Yelp
If you want a trip to Mott Street while in Northern Virginia, this place will give you that vibe. And the food is quite good. We have tried several items on the menu. Some of our top choices are the Deep Fried Spicy Scallop, Squid, and Shrimp. We also like the Beef Chow Foon. The menu is extensive. Enjoy!

Yelp
I went in to.pirchase just an appetizer. The young man behind the counter could care less if I was there and I feel because I didnt want anything more. Ask him if I coukd put a tip on the bill.and he just mumbled some chinese under his breath. Gave me the slip. Wasnt very kind and him and another lady worki g thereI know were complaining about me just by the tone in their voice. I signed my tab. No tip. Then felt bad and gave $5.00 on a 10.95 bill. All.9f the people working out front disappeared to the back and were definately complaining. They are not very friendly in this place. The spare ribs I got were hard as a rock and old. Never would I go back and if you want good food and service bever go there. Plus the bathroom was dirty. Tbe floor by the register my shoe was sticking to the floor extremely sticky Health hazard.

Yelp
We haven't visited this restaurant for years and decided to come here for their famous pulled noodle and shaved noodle. Although I do remember I am not too impressed by their beef noodle's broth, but my husband loved their hand pulled noodles. Unfortunately, our visit this time is a total disaster. My husband ordered beef hand pulled noodle and I ordered pork rib shaved noodle. Both taste horrible. My husband's broth tasted strange, smelled like it's bad, although the beef tasted all right but flavorless. He said the hand pulled noodle quality isn't as good as years ago because the noodles are not in equal thickness. He is picky in that way, but the fact the broth smells funny and the beef is tasteless are the facts. My pork rib shaved noodle is all right although is still less than desired. The broth is okay, but the pork ribs are really tough and are not trimmed carefully, therefore there are lots fats. I actually like the shaved noodle, but because it's not shaved evenly, some noodles are under cooked and some are overcooked. But the worst part of this visit was the wait time. We ordered two noodles, but waited for 25 minutes. We were told twice the noodles would be ready in " one minute" but waited for many "one minute". We will probably go back to order carry out to see if their non-noodle dishes are still good. But def not going back for any more noodles. Major disappointment.

Yelp
This business is very COVID conscious. With the table at the entrance. Although, it is take out I highly recommend getting their char shiu pork pulled noodles. It is one of my favorite dishes especially with the portion size! I would call ahead at the moment just because they only do take out and they move quickly. The picture is when I took it to go and put it in my large bowl!
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Authentic as it could ever get, even got ducks hanging through the glass windows. You can see the chef stringing out the noodles, they were so soft and I'm surprised with how thin it got, they didn't snap or break. Combination Lo mein- wasn't too oily or salty, I like my noodles hard and that's just what the noodles were like. Beef noodle soup- it's what kinda famous for along with their hand drawn noodles, if you get this, you'll know why it's famous. So order it! Black bean shrimp- it's basically jangjjang myun only it's veggies and shrimp, they give you a bowl of rice. This was soooooo good. Especially since the shrimp is big and not tiny. Mapo tofu- you can't go wrong with it, they nailed it.
google avatar

Henry F.

Yelp
Pretty decent Chinese if you're in the area. We got the walnut shrimp, sweet and sour pork, spicy fish and hot and sour soup. The dishes were well made but nothing out of the ordinary. Hit the spot when we were craving some Chinese. My favorite dish was the walnut shrimp and the spicy fish but everything was good! I'd come back again.

Christina G.

Yelp
My parents have been on the hunt for good Cantonese food in this area since they moved. I hadn't been to Lotus Garden for a long time, but saw some positive reviews on Vienna Foodies so suggested we give it a try. Everything was really good -- the only item that wasn't great is the beef in the hand-pulled noodles, but the noodles themselves and broth were tasty. We also enjoyed crispy walnut shrimp, two kinds of beef chow fun -- one dry stir-fried and one with gravy (generous portion), Kingdom pork chops (first place in the area that my mom says makes it right!). My picky parents who are former NYer said that they would definitely come back!

Yelp
Authentic Chinese food and your Americanized dishes as well. Can appeal to the pallet of the more adventurous and the typical American dish like General Tso's chicken. They have fresh pulled noodles made in house. You get a show and a delicious meal. The servers are kind even with a slight communication barrier on my part, we were able to work it out and get some delicious food. Their menu has some picture and numbers to help. The food even on a busy night was prepared quickly. There's many new things to go back and try. They are also known for their seafood dishes which always look incredible however I've never tried them since my other half is allergic. Even with our dietary restrictions we were able to find many wonderful dishes for a filling meal.
google avatar

Samita J.

Yelp
I've been here twice within one month because the food is that good. Order the hand pulled noodles. Amazing. Everything is so savory and the portion size is very generous. Just a heads up, they are unable to alter anything or make special requests. I asked for a small side of noodles and they strictly told me no. They will also only split checks in 3. That's it.

Yelp
For a while now I've been looking for a Chinese restaurant that makes beef brisket noodle soup. And every place I've tried it was a fail BUT!! We have finally found this place Lotus Garden!! Thank you!! They have delicious handmade hand cut noodle dishes and best of all they have the noodle soup I've been looking for. Beef brisket noodle soup!! So yummy!! Can't really describe the flavor of the spices in this noodle soup but the soup taste beefy and not overly strong with the spices. Noodles handmade and fresh. Chewy texture. They have other delicious dishes. Just ask for recommendations the staffs at the restaurant are friendly and helpful.

Sadia K.

Yelp
Decent Chinese in the heart of downtown Vienna. My husband had the curry chicken which he really enjoyed, and I had shrimp fried rice which was made well. Service was attentive.
google avatar

Todd R.

Yelp
OMG my hotel was close to this place. I live this place. The guy makes the noodles for you. So this must really be like you would get in China as so many people just come into pick up their order. There are two round tables that you sit down and they place the food if you are with a group you just turn the table to get the items you want!! Food is so damn good. Had the fried beef noodles, noodles are made fresh, and it was the bomb. The lady even takes and packs your to go leftovers, mind blowing!!! They even give you slice of orange with your fortune. Only problem was the fortune cookie was old.

Yelp
We ordered beef noodle, crispy seafood egg noodles, beef dumplings and one of the appetizer my friend ordered which I like but I couldn't recalled what it was (but it was good however I was to disappointed) I guess my expectation is higher since everyone said it was so good and their hand pulled noodle was fresh. Let me just say Uh no it was NOT fresh and the texture wasn't any special than the one I get from the frozen section. -Beef noodles- the broth was salty, I wouldn't say flavorful since no other flavor other than saltiness. -Fried egg noodles seafood was not crunchy and the seafood was salty and some were bland. Other Chinese/Vietnamese restaurants I had elsewhere make WAY BETTER -beef dumplings - it's a no for me, the skin was WAY TO THICK. Yu noodle in Herndon is the best so far. Sorry no pictures since it was so bad I had a few bites and ask for our check. Either the chef had a bad day or my expectation was too high. Oh, oh my other friend went with the basic lunch menu and ordered orange chicken . I was like let's try out something new. HmMmmMm shame on us and good for her

Yelp
I came here at the recommendation of an Uber driver after asking him for recommendations for authentic Chinese food. This place is known for its noodles and broth though everything -- from its American menu to its Chinese language menu - is tasty and doesn't blend into one taste like some of the other take out places. First things first -- the hand pulled noodles will fill you up with hearty (slightly salty) broth and excellent meat that doesn't have a hint of gamy-ness. The mapo tofu is not as spicy like your average Sichuan dish, but savory in its own way. Lastly, the sichuan boiled beef is exactly what you expect it to be. Spicy, hearty, oily, and a lot of goodness you expect in a local eatery. I would give this place a 4/5. A hearty place that features many solid Chinese dishes.
google avatar

Janet H.

Yelp
Went to try their noodle soup and wasn't disappointed. The shaved noodles had a great QQ texture and the clear broth it was served in was nice and simple. We ordered half a roast duck and it was fresh and delicious. My husband loves stuffed tofu dishes so we also tried their fried tofu with minced shrimp it was served with a sauce on the side, husband thought it was good. The noodle lover in me will be back to try other menu items.

Yelp
Been ordering take out from Lotus Garden for many years and usually enjoy the quality food. But the appetizer of ribs, which is accompanied with pickled sticks of dakon and carrots as a garnish, has been awful the last couple of times. The garnish is the only part that has been enjoyable. The ribs themselves have been charred beyond edible. Might as well been chomping on charcoal. And, additionally, an irritation is the staff never seems to read the "special requests." Why ask, if no one reads the requests? Most recent order was Friday, 6/28/2024.

Yelp
It looks like this is now the only restaurant in NoVa with hand-pulled noodles, and it's fortunate that the noodles and everything else on the menu are very good! There's a large glass window in the dining room that lets you see all the activities in the kitchen, the best one being, of course, the noodle preparation with much stretching, twisting, and cutting of the dough into delicious noodles. Each order is made fresh when placed, this is not instant food!

Yelp
The food is good, but the service could use some improvement. The ambiance is decent. However, their vegetarian special egg noodle with chili oil is a must-try for any vegetarian.

Yelp
One of the best authentic Chinese restaurants in the area. I come here for the food, not the ambiance - which is a traditional hole-in-the-wall Chinese place lol. They have good portion sizes and the flavors are good! One of their best dishes is the beef noodle soup. It's one of the well-known go to places for authentic Chinese food in the DMV - it might not be the place for Americanized Chinese food.

Yelp
Pretty good Chinese food, but a little too salty for our taste. We got the Szechuan green beans, Mapo tofu, General Tso lunch special, and shrimp lo mein. I was really hungry, so I thought it was really good at first, but the more I ate, I realized that the food is quite salty, and I felt it for the rest of the day. I think we'll try somewhere else next time.

Yelp
I've had several instances where I show them a picture of the exact dish that i want and point at the chinese menu (in the plastic stand) and they bring me the wrong dish each time. There is only one chives, lotus root, fish with black bean sauce dish on the chinese menu and they bring out a chives dish with carrots, mushrooms, etc in white sauce and claim it was what I wanted. The chinese menu is a very very small menu and there is only ONE dish that I described and showed them a pic of. They ALWAYS get it wrong and put up a fight when I tell them I want the right dish. Today, I come with my family and my sister finds a piece of wire in her food. It was already on her plate, and she was about to eat it. When we showed the waitresses, there were no apologies whatsoever and only offered to replace the dish. We declined the replacement, and we sent the original one back. God knows what goes in that kitchen. It is absolutely unacceptable to find a wire in food, my sister could have seriously injured herself if she actually swallowed it. There could have been a lawsuit if that happened. I will never be back.

Yelp
This is the go to spot for my coworkers and I for lunch. We always take any new employees and any other coworkers just visiting the office here for lunch. We usually get a big group together and head out for lunch. We order the same dish lol. You can tell by the photos attached. They're of the same dish but on various days. The roasted pork hand pulled noodles. It's always so good and hits our stomachs right. I love how they always give so much pork. The portions are huge. I add in hot sauce and it tastes amazing. Only downside is it takes a long time for them to prep your meal. Well at least for anything hand-pulled because um, they have to hand pull them. Makes sense. But it's well worth the wait. The workers here are very friendly and they're always making sure you're satisfied with your meal. They constantly refill your water cups and tea pot . Oooh I love tea. Their tea. Very good. I'm actually going to make some now that I'm writing about it. Anyways, come here if you're looking for good quality food and a stuffed stomach. Also, can't forget the tea. All this will put you straight into a food coma. It'll be hard to stay awake once you're back at work or wherever you go to next. Beware.

Yelp
It is really loud and very messy and cluttered in this restaurant. It is quite difficult to communicate with the servers in English - I just wish there was a better way because I want to try new dishes. There is A LOT of yelling in back of house. TV is blaring and phone is ringing off the hook. Crazy. I'm going to stick with takeout
