Everything I expected, and it was excellent!
*note: I have a problem with being too excited to try my food before taking a photo. Sorry!
Atmosphere: nice restaurant, wonderful music (I call it "coffee shop jazz covers"), clean bathrooms.
Service: perfect. I was the only person there right after they opened, but still. There were a few tables by the time I left. The restaurant has a very "open" feel so it's easy to flag down the server if needed.
Drink: Lycheetini. Nothing special, doesn't taste very alcoholic. Still sweet and refreshing if you like lychee. $5 on HH
Appetizer: BBQ pear beef. On its own, not bad. A bit chewy, but grilled nicely. The small sauce they serve with it is a perfect addition (I say sauce, but it's very thin and mostly soaks in rather than coat the beef). $5 on HH
Soup: came with my lunch special. VERY good balance of sweet and spicy (I think it was Tom Yom...) and perfect portion with meal. Odd cup to serve it in however...
Salad: it was a small thing that came with my lunch. Never been a fan of any thai place's salad so I'm not worried. Not the reason I came here
Veggie Roll: came with lunch. Tough to say with just one, but I was satisfied.
Pad thai: the real reason I came (I try Pad Thai ALL over SD). It had what I feel is the perfect amount of sauce in it - just a bit visable on the bottom and the noodles don't stick together. Great flavor, although I feel it may have been just a touch heavy on the fish sauce. Wish they would offer some sort of spice option because it was very mild and I enjoy just a bit of heat when it comes to thai. $9 for chicken option plus egg roll, salad and soup.
