Lou Malnati's Pizzeria

Mind you this is only for dessert that I picked up didn't eat anything else. I been wanting to stop by and get some peach cobbler since this one is the only one that serves it. I was very exited to eat it and it ended looking like pourage with peaches. Plus one of my container wasn't properly closed and spilled in the bag. Very disappointed.

Loved the meatball sandwich w/fries. Fresh mozzarella, good portion for the fries. Breading was soft Meatballs were huge and full of flavor. Very satisfied. Joreen was friendly. Nice first experience. It was worth the price. Less than 15 min wait.

Came here from New Mexico looking for some good deep dish Chicago pizza and that’s just what we got! We started with the Buffalo wings and ate those with ranch and blue cheese dressing. The ranch was the best ranch I’ve ever had. It had a perfect garlic hint. The wings were delicious with these dressings ! We got a deep dish pizza with sausage and pepperoni. The crust was amazing. The pizza was Soo good especially with that ranch. Then we finished with a pan cookie and it was the perfect sweet treat to end a great meal. Felipe our server was wonderful, nice, and gave us great service. We will definitely be back

My first taste of Chicago style pizza. I wasn't impressed at all. Pizza was flavorless. Wings were okay. Celery was yummy. 50.00+ wasted.

Ordered on UberEats, left a review on there but had to come here to properly warn people. The crust on the edges was weirdly thick and hard. There was next to no sauce or cheese on my CHEESE PIZZA. It legit felt like I was eating a huge thinly cheesed cracker. I've had Lous many times before, and this was a first. I would have demanded a refund if I thought it was possible. Trust has been completely broken, it's too expensive to gamble on a pizza turning out that bad. Taking my business elsewhere.

Everyone was very nice and my food ready in a timely manner. I also tried the new hot honey pizza it was surprisingly good I will definitely be back soon to order more. The spicy with the honey really taste good together. Thank you Lou Malnati I really enjoyed it.

I've gone to this Lou's in Lawndale for years, frequently! Never had a reason to really complain about anything major, even if sometimes the delivery was lukewarm. Never had an issue dining in. The food always tasted fresh and it was good. I haven't ordered in a few months but we wanted something good today. I ordered pizza, buffalo chicken(sauce on the side), fries and cheese bread. Everything but the chicken was as usual. The chicken was horrible this time! It looked old and burnt. It looked like it had been previously cooked and then refried when I placed my order. The skin was very plastic-y and dark. I'm shocked this was allowed to come out of the kitchen. Ive had their chicken before and it never looked like that...Maybe they have new people or maybe this was a bad day...but I know 1 thing, I'll stick to the pizza from now on.

We thought that the thickness of the pie had dropped considerably since our last visit, to another store, in 2017. This made for a too crunchy to eat rim of crust, which we had not had happen before. The flavour and brightness were undimmed, however, so there’s no real complaint. Our server was a joyful jewel of a lady. 70 on her next birthday and you’d never guess it. We had a really nice time!

A Chicagoland staple. Pan pizza a must- it's amazing! The service is always good in restaurant and carry out. It's a little part of Italy, smells will bring you along. The ambiance is very nice too.

We had to try the Chicago style pizza when visiting Chicago! We came here for dinner in the evening. There is always long lines for these restaurants given their popularity and well known thing to do when visiting chicago. We put our name in and walked around for about 30-45mins before our table was ready. The staff here are really great and attentive despite having so many tables to attend to. We were not personally impressed by the taste and style of chicago style pizza! Definitely a personal preference for us, but we would still recommend you give it a try!

Chicago = deep dish. Deep Dish = Lou Malnati's. Lou Malnati's = Delicious! This place definitely requires a reservation ahead of time if you are planning to have a sit down experience. The pizza options are vast and modifiable. When the pizza is brought out to you, the server puts on a show with cutting the pizza and doing a fun cheese-pull of the slice before serving it. There are frozen deep dish pizzas available for sale here, if you want to take home the experience as well.

I've tried deep dish, pizza, and other places in Chicago. Every time I visited, and I've never really gone back for it because it hasn't been that impressive. Until I tried this pizza and now I understand all the rave. If you want to try real deep dish pizza in Chicago, THIS is where you need to go. It takes a lot of time to make, almost 45 minutes, but all ingredients are made from scratch.

Although I seriously questioned where our Uber was dropping us off, the restaurant ended up coming through. I must say I prefer Giordano's as an out of towner. Maybe I just don't have refined deep dish pizza taste yet. Regardless, it was good and while the waitress wasn't leaping to wait on us (we were literally the only people there and we think she was annoyed at our arrival...) she was nice enough. I think the hardest worker there was the delivery driver who went and came back several times just while we were there. He was all go the whole time. We also got the Caesar salad but it came unmixed so I felt like we needed to prepare it ourselves. Still a solid early dinner on the way to Midway.

the food was really cheesy. the food took around 30 minutes to be served. the food was really pricey. i would recommend this to anyone who likes a lot of cheese on their pizza.

Now I've had Lou Malnoti's twice now. Just a few days ago at a less popular location and another time years back when my girlfriend (now my lovely wife) brought me back half a personal pizza through airport security, on the plane, and into my fridge--yeah I TIED THAT KNOT, SON. I could not believe how delicious that pizza was despite it not being fresh. The cheese, the sauce, oh man--THE CRUST. For those curious, I got to taste the "Lou" and "Meat" personal sized pizzas (tip: dont get tbe largest size; soggy crust is eww). I vowed to return to Chicago just for another bite of this pizza. Sadly, both Pequod's and Lou's let me down. Where did all the flavor go? Now I will be upfront and admit I've made some errors in trying to rediscover the pizza I once had. I am eating at a different Lou's and the size of the pizza we ordered was a 14" vs a personal 7" (4x bigger than a personal). The flavor was just non-existent; where was the robust, zesty tomato sauce I remembered? And the fear of all pizza lovers... wet center crust. And really, the blame cannot really be placed on anyone. Maybe cooking 14" pies is just a terrible idea in general. I waited quite a while for my rekindling with this pizza and I was severely let down. It's just embarrassing that you rave to your friends and temporary roommates that "this is it, boys. Get ready!" And everyone is in agreement that there is absolutely nothing noteworthy from destroying your caloric intake. Maybe it's because I'm not from here, but I found the service to be quite lacking. My friend ordered a Diet coke to go and the waitress literally brought out an empty paper cup and plastic lid for his half finished diet coke (which, yes, he was on his way of finishing). I'm hoping for better vibes if I visit a different location but it might be a year or two before I fly in and try again. I should have been a bit worried that we were the only table during our long stay.

No visit to Chicago would be complete without trying deep dish pizza. We ordered the Chicago Classic and the Lou. The pizza takes around 30 minutes to prepare because of its thickness. I recommend calling ahead to put in your order before going to the restaurant. The Chicago Classic is made with sausages, cheese, and tomato sauce. Each bite was delicious and had a piece of sausage in it. The Lou had spinach, mushrooms, and sliced tomatoes all covered in cheese without any tomato sauce. I enjoyed the classic more because the the sauce tasted so good! Both pizzas also had a nice crispy crust. Our waitress was so welcoming! She heard it was our first time in Chicago and gave us a Chocolate Chip Pizza on the house. She said that it's a popular dessert and we couldn't leave without it. This was a chocolate chip cookie cooked in a deep dish pan topped with ice cream, whipped cream, and cherries. It was soft yet crunchy on the outside. I was already full from the pizza but couldn't get enough of the dessert!

Deep dish is mandatory when you visit Chicago and this spot is known to back up it's top quality reputation. You'll be grateful for the crispy edged, fluffy pies filled generously with tomato sauce and cheese!

Service was a little slow, but the food made it worth waiting. The pizzas had a nice balance of cheese, sauce and toppings and they came out hot and fresh, making it a delightful dining experience. Ambiance of the restaurant was average, but not a deal breaker.

Disclaimer that I'm a bit of a pizza snob but I found the crust sort of dry and lacking flavor. The toppings weren't super flavorful either. It was later at night, close to closing time so that could have been a factor. I only tried the thin crust style. I was grateful that it was open late and the service was absolutely fine.

It was my first real Chicago pizza and I was pleasant surprised ! The crust was not as filling and doughy as I expected. I liked the crispy crust.

I'm not going to hold you -I've had some of Chicago's most acclaimed deep dish pizza. The Malnati Classic with Buttercrust is worth AT LEAST trying, especially if you're on the fence (like most New Yorkers) about Deep Dish Pizza. The three-cheese breadsticks looked like my little sister made them but tasted like Heaven. Peach Cobbler? They've got it & it's beautiful -as if made by a campfire by hand. OMG. Classic cherry coke? Yep, lined the cup with cherries. Staff was excellent. Kind, attentive, & helpful when ordering (but not overbearing). They got a little Chicago attitude...so just go with it okay. Shout out to Keisha! We ordered ahead roughly 20 minutes & everything was right on time. Also didn't know the Lawndale location gives back so much of what they make to the local community. Made me wish I lived closer.

Great [Lou] pizza but the wings were huge. The dine in service was horrible, as the waitress was on her cell phone the entire time.

Great pizza and pasta, lots of locations so I go there a lot. There is one right by our home so maybe that's why I'm there all the time.

Solid. Hood fro a night when you don't want to cook... love the salads but I always get an XL thin crust well done with mushrooms and spinach.

The restaurant offers classic deep dish Chicago style pizza. The parking situation is a bit awkward but worth finding.a space. The ambiance is reminiscent of an old school pizzeria. When I entered the building there were two servers stand behind the desk and neither of the two greated me, eventually after an awkward stare down I shared that I was there to pick up. Eventually, I received my order and the server did ask genuinely if there was anything else they can help me with. With that.... the service is not outstanding, but it's not terrible either, which is why I gave it 4 stars. The price is a little high, but you get what you pay for . We got a Medium mushroom, pepperoni, and onion deep dish pizza is picture perfect and flavors matched the picture, it was amazing. We also got a thin crust cheese which did have a little bit of a card board crust, but that seems to be the Chicago theme for thin crust. Our family prefers NY style thin pizza. I would definitely eat here again, maybe not the thin crust though... Lol.

First stop on our Chicago trip, and hands down the best deep dish EVER! The Lou was definitely the best! Well worth the 5 stars!

Have been waiting on a sandwich for over 15 minutes. Was told 10 minutes. My supervisor has called because my lunch is now over! At the end of the day my sandwich was great, all places have a slow day and , I am going to say that is what this was for them . I do recommend this place I am going back today , will order in advance.

Customer service was a little lackluster, the pizza was good, it's about half the size of the old style stuffed pizza from the 80's (my growing up era w/ stuffed pizza). Size in thickness is what I'm referring too. We ordered a large stuffed pizza with about 5 or 6 toppings, 3 waters and 1 soda cost was 60.00 w/out tip.

This place does not sell real Chicago style pizza. Here is another franchise (Portillo's is another) that took one of Chicago's favs and made it commercial, like deep dish pizza, which is not a Chicago style pizza either. The crust and the sausage in real Chicago pizzas can only be found in the mom and pop pizzerias. They make sure the sausage is fresh and the crust nice and crispy. We like fennel seed in our sausage and the right balance of spices. Treat yourself to a true pub style cut pizza and enjoy the goodness of a real Chicago pizza. You will thank me.

This was delicious! Ordered Chicago Classic + pepperoni pizza. Rich, thick flaky crust was just as I'd remembered! WARNING- this pizza is very filling.. We are 1-2 pcs each! It's NOT like regular thin crust.. Chicago Deep dish pizza is in a category all its own. 4 ppl ate a large w/2 pcs left over. The salad with red wine vinegar dressing was a perfect compliment to the pizza. So glad we stopped here!

Quite simply the best damn chicken fingers I've ever had. For your own sanity, please come here... or not, because after you've been initiated, all other chicken fingers will disappoint you for the rest of your life.

I am not a true pizza lover, but I've come to know good service. My wife loves this pizza so whenever the monkey is on her back for pizza, we go to Lou Malnati's Pizza. We ordered a small thin crust with sausage, mushrooms, black olives, onions, green peppers and garlic. The pizza didn't disappoint us, but the delivery person was rude. He was grouchy and seemed to be having a really bad day. This was all because the address delivery was mixed up and it required him to drive an extra 2 blocks to deliver it. He asked my wife to sign for the pizza, which is not the norm so I assume it's because of the incorrect address. When he asked my wife to sign for it and she asked for a pen to sign the receipt, he snapped back with "I'll give you a pen as soon as I get it out of my pocket". A very grouchy person. Because of that, I wont be ordering pizza from this particular location. If not for the attitude of the delivery person, I would give it 4 stars.

Their deep dish pizza is heaven on earth! People from Chicago know Lou Malnati's not only because their restaurants are abundant throughout the city, but they have perfected the Chicago deep dish style and serve up the BEST. I can attest to it and HIGHLY recommend them if you are traveling to Chicago. I do blame them for setting a standard when it comes to deep dish though. I haven't been able to enjoy the deep dish style outside of Chicago because I keep comparing everything to their pizza's! So far, the San Diego pizza's I have tried pale greatly in comparison! Here's a breakdown: Location: A bit out of sorts in comparison to other locations we came across. It's not in the nicest area of Chicago and their decor is a bit out-of-date. Service: Superb! Our server was genuine and such a sweet heart. She kept letting us know our pizza's would be out in a bit. Food: PHENOMENAL! We just came off a 5 hour flight and the first thing we wanted was some damn pizza. Their's did not disappoint. We got the small which, according to their menu, serves two. You get 4 giant slices served straight from the dish. ALL PIZZA'S TAKE A MINIMUM OF 45 MINUTES! We waited patiently and, oh man, was it worth it. The sauce with the cheese and the DELICIOUS buttery crust was just an orgie in my mouth. The four slices were a perfect portion and we were full and VERY satisfied. If you couldn't tell already, I loved Lou Malnati's! The other locations looked a bit more popping than this one, but I can't imagine the quality of the pizza being any different at all. It's somewhat sketch and the furniture a bit old, but who cares when you have cheesy, saucy, and buttery goodness in your mouth?

I work in a hospital and I NEVER had a problem having my pizza be delivered to the front desk and it was somehow a problem yesterday. NEVER received a call from whoever the delivery person was btw. The fact that they said they called was a total lie. As I said before, NEVER had a problem getting my pizza delivered at the front desk. The guy (I should've gotten his name) was beyond nasty and rude on the phone. Did not even get my full refund.

Okay, I admit it. There's no impartiality when it comes to me and Lou Malnati's pizza. This particular location was new to me, and I wasn't sure how it would "pan" out for that reason, but I had faith in my favorite pizza provider. The place has a great Chicago spirit to it with it's sports theme honoring our city's greatest athletes such as Mike Singletary and Michael Jordan. There are posters and memorablia displayed on the wall of other greats as well, and this lent a warm, mom & pop feel to the restaurant. Our server was Keisha (sp), a delighfully calm woman that we knew we could trust for good service in the way she confidentially strolled over to our table and greeted us. My buddy and I chose the signature deep dish with sausage, with soft drinks and breaded mushrooms as starters. The mushrooms came out piping hot and we had to let them sit for a bit before we dug in. But, when we did they didn't last very long. Despite being deep-fried they were non-greasy, light and tasty; a great way to open for the main event! Once our pie arrived we were ready to do damage. Because we ordered the largest size we each had two pieces, leaving about six to take home. I think our eyes were bigger than our appetites! But there as no disappointment here. The signature buttery crust took me where I wanted to go, into the great pizza escape that few others could take me. Keisha did her best to tempt us with dessert, threatening to bat her eyes, lol, but we fought the indulgence and collected the bill.

Food is excellent and service is superb!!! My favorite go-to every week for lunch with my co-workers!!!!

If you want a deep dish pizza with a home style taste, that's filling, and that most Chicagoans will recommend it's Lou Malnati's pizzaria. Not only do they not skimp out on any ingredients but there is an incredible amount of flavor in every bite you take. I ordered their sausage and cheese deep dish and not only did it look incredibly appetizing, it actually was and didn't leave you feeling sick afterward. Would recommend this place to any pizza lover looking to have the BEST deep dish pizza in Chicago.

I read about Lou's on my flight from LAX to ORD, Chicago. I thought to myself, "Ya, right. Why should I trust some ad on the in-flight magazine?" But, when I arrived, I did want to go somewhere to experience the Chicago Pizza phenomenon. So, I went here. What the heck, right? OH MY LORD! (I know I say this in my other 5-star reviews. But, I'm honest! I mean it! Not every restaurant deserves this response or these stars, but this one does). Deep dish, full of cheese, tasty sauce. Wow. This has destroyed my tolerance for mediocre pizza. Not only is the pizza FANTABULOUSERRIFICMOSTAWESOME, but they know it! They know it and have a way to ship the pizza to you via Fed Ex or something. Is that not unusual? Why not order in a REAL SPECIAL delivery... all the way from Chicago. Lou Malnatis pizzeria on Ogden and Cermak is the place to eat. If you love delicious pizza and incredible Italian food you can't beat Lou Malnatis. I love this place because your treated like family. When your here, its like being in your mothers house. The food is always fresh and the plates are generous. Just like at mommas house. You are always served with care and kindness, the staff are incredibly nice , professional and welcoming. Great place for a date or just hanging with your friends. Go to Lou Malnatis where your amongst family!!!

The deep dish is the best for me with their hand made butter crust of love pizza!! The location has the best cozy feeling of the Lous location! While you wait you can admire the great history that they have hanging up.

couldn't stuff all the deep dish pizzas while i was out in Chicago, but this place was on my foodie list. i'm so glad they let you purchase it frozen, and it was surprisingly really good.

Had to order a number of XL pizzas and salads for an event at Garfield Park Conservatory that started at 11:30 am on a Saturday. I was worried that since the restaurant opened at 11 that the food would arrive too late. But when I called the staff put me at ease. They were super helpful and responsive. In fact when there was an issue with one of the salads, they called me the night before to offer a replacement. And when I arrived a little early, the staff were very kind and helpful in bringing the pizzas and salads to my car. I highly recommend this location for its outstanding service and of course for their great pizza.

I've had Lou Malnati's for over 30 years so that being said, it's a Chicago Jem! If anyone comes to Chicago, I am one to give them my number one choice in pizza.

Everything was fine but I placed my order to arrive at 615 630. But my pizza arrived at 520. Luckily I was home but my family weren't and that's the only reason why I ordered for a certain time. I didn't ask for them to rush the pizza. Not happy, now im an asshole for starting dinner without my family because the fucking pizza was delivered early. Thanks a lot P.s the quality of my food sucked. You can definitely tell the difference between this place and anywhere else near downtown

This was my very first time ordering here. I wanted to make sure I gave feedback regarding my service. There was a problem with my food and well... I'll just tell the goodness. The Manager "Brandy" gave me a call back, she expressed compassion and her customer service was superior. I've never had their deep dish pizza. I was able to order the Lou Malnati's deep dish with spinach and it was delicious. Overall, I am pleased. I most definitely will order with them again.

The pizza was delicious, but the real star was Keesha. Her community dedication is to be applauded! Tenille did a great job as well!

I love lou malnati's! The fact that its 8 blocks away..... BONUS!! I love their thin crust, its always crunchy but not burnt. The "LOU" is another one of my favorites, even though this is the deep dish. I usually like to pickup my pizza because I like to ise my Lou Malnati pizza card. You accumulate points and get free appetizers and birthday gift as well as free pixza after a certain amount of points. Whenever I get my pizza delivered, its fast, but for some reason I am not able to use my lou malnati card (that is what I was told). Parking is a NIGHTMARE!!! Also stay away from dine-in on a friday between 12-4pm, city employees tend to gather there, especially those in the sanitation business. All you see is garbage trucks lined up lol and you know it will be BUSY! HUGE discount for CPD ;) P.S dont forget to order your crust to be "buttercrust". Too good! Yumm-o!!!

When you're in Chicago, having a deep dish pizza is a must and there are SO MANY options and opinions. We had a lot of suggestions on where to go. But, so glad we went here!!! SO GOOD!!! We got the small classic pizza - it had thick sausage, it was cheesy, and the crust was buttery!!! my mouth is watering while i type up this review! absolutely loved it. when it first came out, we were worried the small pizza wasn't enough - but we were so full! very bite was delicious!!! They definitely know how to make a deep dish pizza here!

I would've given this place two stars had it not been for the extremely gracious waitstaff who let us come half an hour before closing (we called ahead.) We're at Chicago for a music festival and we decided to come here for dinner last night. We were pressed for time so we went ahead and quickly ordered two cheese pies, a sausage pie, and a veggie pie. All deep dish. We also ordered two combo apps and some cheese bread. The cheese bread was absolutely just what I needed after a long day under the heat. It was fantastic. The pizzas finally came out and we were pleasantly surprised at how the server actually cut up the pies and served the slices to you personally. Very nice lady. The pizza was fine. I thought it was going to be pretty legendary, as this is what Chicago is known. This was my first time (to my recollection) having deep dish pizza and was so excited to be too excited. I had a slice of the cheese and that was enough for me. The cheese was pretty hard to swallow and it was weird how saucy everything was. It totally could've been because these pies weren't the most fresh, as we did come in right before closing. Overall it was fine. Again very thankful that they let us come in at a late hour. Not sure if I'd come back, though.

Was super excited to try "authentic" Chicago pizza and Lou's was the first place we went to. Not impressed. The pizza was a little undercooked (and we ordered it to be more well done) and the drinks were absolutely horrible. If you want a pizza in Chicago, go to Giordano's

Extremely pleased! Had ordered picked up in store when I arrived home I was given the wrong pizza. Called the store about the issue. They offered to delivered the correctly pizza. It shows the great customer service this location has! I order often here and that never happens so pleased on how they handle the situation. + pizza was great. Thank you

I give them 5 stars because: - It is the best deep dish Chicago pizza in my opinion - The staff was very upbeat and friendly - I like the Chicago decor inside and it's in an old brick building, which I love Yes, the neighborhood isn't much to look at, but the bonus was street parking was not metered in this area. Normally we wouldn't be dining at this location but we were meeting friends from Vegas who were flying out of Midway later that day. I scoured Yelp to find the perfect place somewhat near the airport and which had some Chicago flair for my friends. So they got to roll through Cicero & have some awesome Chicago pizza before their trip back home. I'm surprised they don't open until 12:30 on Sundays (and close at 4pm) but luckily that was the designated time we were meeting my friends there. As we sat & waited for them our server, Crystal, was very nice & got us our beverages. Our friends were running late & she checked in on us to see if we wanted to order an appetizer or salads. We had the deep dish, of course, with sausage, green peppers & mushrooms. It was ooey gooey cheesy perfection. Our Vegas friends were impressed. Since we were the first customers in for the day I think we spoke to just about everyone who was working at the time as they moved out & about the restaurant. They all had big smiles & great attitudes...something pretty special when you are in the middle of a heat wave & you work in a pizza place!
