Yelp
This hidden gem is a must go for anyone who loves pastries - both savory and sweet. It is also open early, which is a bonus for those who are early risers and are looking for a filling meal. Just be prepared to pay for the quality!
Food/pastries: Our party got a variety of sweet and savory items, and oh my goodness, the croissants and crusts were so flaky and buttery. I ate two beef hand pies, which impressively had about an inch of filling each. The chocolate croissant my partner had was filled with actual chocolate chunks in addition to the chocolate filling you find in most chocolate croissants. The croissant sandwiches were also delicious with either bacon or ham fillings. Our friends got a spinach and feta hand pie, and it smelled heavenly, and I could see the cheesy-ness of it as they ate it. Lastly, the coffee was very smooth without any bitter or acerbic taste.
Ambiance: this is primarily a "to-go" place, at least in the morning. The entire building is clearly set up for lots of baking and good work, just not so much dining. The ordering area is small, but serviceable.
Service: The service was okay. The lady at the counter answered all our questions, but did not really tell us what other items were available (e.g. we only saw the croissant sandwiches when someone brought out a tray after we ordered all the other items). This was really the only thing that brought my experience down.
Pricing: Be ready to pay $3-4 for each item, if not a little more. It is well worth the price, imho.
Tip: The signage does not help you navigate what is available, so being proactive and asking will likely help you get a sense of what they have to offer.
