My new favorite spot! We went for brunch on Sunday with no expectations—and were completely blown away. The atmosphere is amazing! The DJ played great music: not too loud, just the right vibe for the space. It honestly felt like being on vacation. You pay a flat fee for the brunch buffet, and drinks are separate. Definitely coming back!

The atmosphere and vibe of this place are top tier. The music and energy of the staff make it a place I want to come to even if it’s just for drinks. The food is where I lower my rating. I ordered the octopus and the caviar fries. The octopus was a little cold and dry. The fries were delicious on their own but the added caviar is not worth the price. You can barely taste the caviar (as it was just lightly sprinkled on). The drinks though were fabulous, especially the LOU LOU. I would recommend if you are wanting a place to vibe with friends or family. I wouldn’t recommend if you are coming solely for food.

We celebrated a friend’s birthday at Loulou Rooftop Restaurant and Lounge and it was a great experience! The place is perfect for groups of 6–10, with an uplifting, fun atmosphere and a great DJ that even got us dancing a few times. Definitely a spot for making memories. Food quality was really good — we shared a mix of pizzas, fish, salads, and more. Drinks were solid too, with regular options around \$18 and premium ones around \$25. Our server James was excellent — super attentive and friendly. Service overall was top-notch. Expect to spend about \$100 per person. One small issue: they added a 4% “service fee” on top of the 20% gratuity for large parties. We didn’t love that, but once we brought it up, management removed it right away. Parking was easy, which made things even smoother. Highly recommend for birthdays or a fun night out with friends!

Fantastically fun place! Great for a younger crowd can be thumping with music later so definitely not a romantic spot! Go early for the quiet part, it gets loud at night. Excellent food, I highly recommend the oysters, escargot, frog legs and the beef bourguignon. The service is great, drinks are wonderful!

Google
The food was absolutely great 10/10 We had the Margherita pizza, escargot, cesar salad, and chicken sandwich. For drinks: we had a signature cocktail “oh lala” and the house wine both decent. As for the service, it was simply, bad. No other way to say it. Our waiter was dismissive & it felt like he’s annoyed answering questions about the lunch special. Would cut us off, and was no where to be found. This wasnt just a problem with our table, as we could here other tables complaining as well. Would love to go back, hopefully the service will be improved.

Has similar vibe as beach clubs in south of France only not on the sand. We need some real beach clubs on the sand in California. Follow us on instagram @gemislist for more info and to discover other great spots!

I had an amazing experience at Lou Lou Santa Monica! The steak frites were absolutely phenomenal—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The rooftop seating created such a great atmosphere, with beautiful views and a lively yet relaxed vibe. The DJ was on point, setting the mood without overpowering the space. Service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and fast. This spot hits all the right notes for a memorable night out. Can’t wait to come back!

Yelp
For my friends 88th birthday, she specifically requested this restaurant. We ordered a table full of plates & shared. Everything was really good. The service was friendly! Nickola (manager, apologies if I misspelled his name) went out of his way to make our night special.

Yelp
Went here for a Sat brunch for a fried's birthday and let me just say.. one of the best experiences I've had at a restaurant in a while! They had a brunch buffet which had soooo many options! From pasta to sliders to steak to leche flan, you couldn't go wrong with ANY of the choices. The DJ was playing the jams and the staff went ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure that we had the best time :) Shout out to our server Ezgi for the great hospitality! DEFINITELY coming back

Yelp
Vibes and cocktails are great, but I would not come again for dinner. The theme of the restaurant, dips & bread to start and some of the staff are pleasant and wouldn't mind going again for, but it was nothing to remember. I love when they do live music and happy hour. Overpriced - not worth the spending.

Yelp
Lou Lou is located within the outdoor Santa Monica mall at the very top floor. It's an indoor/outdoor location with a couple of fire pits. They didn't have heat lamps though and the warmth wasn't circulating well so I would recommend bringing a jacket if you're visiting during the chillier months! Vibes were immaculate! It was giving upscale tiki. They even had a DJ going. Pesto Spaghetti - Their hand made pasta was super delicious! Perfectly al dente, seasoned, and sauced. The pine nuts added a bit of crunch to some bites. Delicious! Burrata Salad - The components were there but the ratios were off. The salad needed more balsamic vinegar and way more arugula than they supplied. They didn't skimp on the burrata though which was a plus! Still tasty! Fries - Crunchy and seasoned well. They supplied a garlic aioli and ketchup. Came with a good amount of fries. Lava Cake - Cute little cake. The melted chocolate inside wasn't as melted as it should have been but the flavor was so good! This would have been even better if they gave a scoop of ice cream instead of a side of cream to cut the sweetness. They did have 1 raspberry on top which helped with the sweetness for one bite but it wasn't enough. Loulou - This was their signature cocktail. I read vodka and yuzu and was sold! Super delicious! I barely tasted any of the alcohol but I sure felt it :). It also wasn't too sweet!! Dessert Cocktail - Honestly kinda gross haha. I think it was a me thing though. It tasted like an espresso martini with vanilla extract added. Not amazing imo. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The manager even came to greet us and make sure we were ok. The cocktails were slow to come out but the food came out timely. This place is definitely a vibe! Coming back to check out the rest of their menu!

Yelp
One of my fave spots in Santa Monica! Customer service here is OUTSTANDING. Very impressed with the warm inviting staff. I celebrated my 30th birthday here after celebrating else where and this was the better option of the two. I had a larger party that went seamlessly. Food was more than I could ask for, and well prepared. I am so happy I came. I also came back for my 32nd birthday to enjoy the vibes during the day. There is a DJ on the weekend for brunch and it's a good time. Can't go wring coming here!

Yelp
Plenty of parking in the area parked in one of the garages very close by and walked over. Very easy to find . Had an 11:30 reservation for the Saturday brunch. We checked in and were seated promptly. They explained to us how the brunch buffet worked. We went to the omelette station, the crêpe station and picked up some paella then we headed down to the rest of the buffet. The buffet has a huge selection of all different kinds of foods. They have plenty of breakfast foods, your eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, potatoes, and then they have other things like different kinds of skewers, including Caprese skewers, poke tacos, fresh scallops, shrimp, tri-tip Chilaquiles, breakfast croissant, pulled pork sliders, amongst many other things that I can't recall right now as well as a dessert area. All of the food was really excellent. I especially enjoyed my crêpe with bananas, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle. During brunch they have a DJ and this DJ was on fire. I wanted to stay there just to listen to him mixing he was playing some 70s music some 80s music and I was dancing in my chair. Because the buffet is so good and has such a variety of great food. It is a little bit on the pricey side, but it's definitely worth every penny with all of the great selections they have and the entertainment provided by the DJ.

Yelp
1 word...AMAZING!!!! I just celebrated my birthday weekend at LouLou's and it was more than I could've ask for. My party and I did the Sunday Brunch Party and boy were we surprised! I loved everything about it! Everyone did as a matter of fact. For starters, Victoria was an amazing host. She answered all our questions and made it such an enjoyable day. She was so attentive and fun! Food was amazing, every single thing I had was delicious. The atmosphere, to say the least was phenomenal!!!! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
LouLou is a hidden gem in Santa Monica. It's perched on the 3rd floor by Nordstrom. The ambiance is super chic and perfect for a date night or a girls' night out. We tried the Hummus, the calamari , and the pizza. The service was friendly and attentive, special thanks to Alec. Overall, a great dining experience!

Yelp
The manager Victoria gave us a warm welcome and lovely birthday celebration. She chatted with us making it a fun social environment and sang a wonderfully for the birthday celebration. Nick gave us great service as well. The food is good. There could be more vegetarian options. Drinks are lovely ! Different concoctions and yummy. Ambience is fabulous. The love dj picks it up towards the end but it's a fun wide. Parking is in the structure. Try to park on the 5th floor to reach easily to the restaurant.

Yelp
I recently discovered this restaurant when I visited the Santa Monica Outdoor Place mall. It's located on the 3rd floor next to Nordstrom. The green wall captured my attention with sparkling lights glowing and their logo. My partner and I had an early Christmas date on a Wednesday around 5:30pm. I had made reservations just in case but at this time, there was plenty of tables available. We sat next to the window that gave us a view of the sunset and the very top end of the Santa Monica Pier Ferris Wheel. This restaurant is not high enough to have a great sunset view as the building across blocks most of it. We started with onion soup, and hamachi crudo. It was happy hour so the house wine was $10, and Coke was $5. The highlight of dinner was having the Sole fish, made for two people at $85. Comes with a salad. The fish comes out whole but the chef will clean and prepare it for you at your table. We got a mini show. The sole fish was very good! The Pesto Spaghetti was very good as well~! There is a service fee for the table of 4%. Parking is not validated but it's 90 min. free. I liked the service, waiter was super nice, food was great but for the prices... I can go somewhere else instead. Definitely overpriced for the quantity you're receiving like in the onion soup and hamachi.

Yelp
This has been in my bookmark and I finally came for my mom's friend birthday brunch and it was very fun with good vibes and dj! It is so pretty inside with nice decor and pretty spacious for big parties' ! It's only $65 per person for brunch and it's well worth it. I do not eat buffet but this was very clean and they had a omelette bar where you can get it fresh. The service was phenomenal and was very personable while helping us. I recommend here and will be back for sure! The food is good and you get a lot of it, that's good quality! Come here for any celebration or Sunday funday brunch with your girls! -Marshay D.

Yelp
VIBES!!! The decor is impeccable and instagrammable! Food and drinks are delicious! They have happy hour 3-6pm everyday! Drinks and bites are the *full size* so no skimping which is awesome!! https://hhqueen.com/venues/loulou-santa-monica-santa-monica-90401-i1jae1deoiwdyex702cmcdo7aia FYI: They're in the Santa Monica mall. They don't validate parking. Also the note about "ocean views", very small sliver of views if you're at the right table so that was disappointing.

Yelp
This is such a beautiful restaurant, ideal for a date night or get together with friends or family! Plenty of seating, very beautiful and great ambience. They have a nice happy hour as well. Well, everything is made to order quickly and presented nicely. We enjoyed our food as well as our drinks And will definitely be back! Great option just a few blocks from the beach.

Yelp
This place has it all! Good food, good drinks, good vibes! And more importantly amazing people! Victoria helped us out over the weekend, she was SUCH a good time! She kept the party going for us. Appreciate you! Our experience was great!

Yelp
Came here for my boyfriend's birthday. Making the online reservation was simple and easy to do. We came on a Monday afternoon during happy hour, so it was quiet. Really chill vibes, we sat at the window near one of the fire pits. View was nice. We could see the sky, but the beach was blocked by other buildings. Our server was James and very friendly! Food came out quickly, probably because it was a slow evening for them. Here is what we ordered: Old fashioned Aviation House red blend Loulou 1/2 dozen oysters Shrimp ceviche Margherita pizza Duck parmentier Steak frites The food was amazing. We were so excited for happy hour we went heavy on the appetizers but with no regrets. Great happy hour prices!! I would say my favorite appetizer was the shrimp ceviche. Chips were crisp and seasoned well, and my only problem with the ceviche was that there was not enough cilantro (but that's just me because I love extra cilantro)! My steak was absolutely delicious: seared perfectly, medium rare was a true medium rare, chimichurri was well made. Again, everything came out quickly. All the staff were super nice. James also brought out a lava cake with a candle for the birthday. Pleasant experience, definitely a place I would love to come back to. Great social setting, I can see us coming back with a couple friends, even if it was busy. But if you want a quiet date night, Monday evening was a good choice. Thanks for the lovely evening!

Yelp
Last night was my first time at LouLou Santa Monica and I was really excited to try it out. Unfortunately, the food left much to be desired. My friend ordered the mushroom platter (portobello), but instead, she was served chicken--which was ironic and hilarious because on the way there, she mentioned that the one thing she doesn't like is chicken! I ordered the burrata salad, expecting pine nuts, pecans, basil, and a steak on top based on the Yelp photo and menu description. What I received was underwhelming: a very small portion of wilted arugula, some fried (not dried) small tomatoes, and no dressing whatsoever. Steak was good. Price-wise, I found the restaurant expensive for no apparent reason, especially given the disappointing quality of the food. The drinks were also a letdown. I ordered their signature cocktail, Oh La La, which was supposed to be a highlight. It lacked alcohol to the point where I had to order an extra shot. Taste-wise, it was neither delicious nor memorable. On the positive side, the ambiance is lovely--it feels like you're at a private party, and the design is stunning. The staff were polite and friendly, which I appreciated. If you're going here, I'd say you're paying for the vibe, not the food or drinks. It's a fun place, but make sure you know what you're getting into.

Yelp
If you're looking for a fun brunch experience, add LouLou to your list! TikTok sent me here and I'm glad my husband and I went. Our reservations were for 11:45a on a Sunday. If you come before noon, brunch is $55 dollars. Otherwise, brunch is $65. Brunch is buffet style. So there is a variety of items- from omelette and crepe station, to French dishes, seafood, desserts etc. I'd give the food 3.5/4 stars. I wasn't a fan of some of the items, such as the crepes- they were tough. Now let me tell you a little bit of the vibes at LouLou. If you come here, make sure you come to not only eat, but to party and have a great time! There's a DJ playing all of the latest songs and I like the fact that the DJ catered to all. So there was a good mix of Reggaeton, Hip Hop, R&B. Between bites, you had people like me getting up from the table to dance and the DJ made sure we were dancing. Additionally, they passed around complimentary shots to everyone while playing, "Shots" by LMFAO. Oh and can't forget about them playing "Love Is In the Air" while giving every lady a rose....A time was had, ya hear me!!? I'd give the vibe 5+++ stars. When you think of brunch, what comes to mind?...Mimosas, right!? Well they don't offer bottomless mimosas or mimosa flights or any kind of mimosa special. You just buy mimosa by the glass...boo!!! They really should consider offering bottomless mimosas. Maybe when I come back, they will have it **wink wink, Management Team :)

Yelp
We had an amazing time at celebrating my mom's birthday here! The atmosphere is lively and fun, especially with the live music that adds to the energy--though it can get a bit loud. If you want to experience the perfect vibe, I recommend coming during sunset when there's still light out; the ambiance is just perfect. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. She gave us plenty of time to decide on our order but also checked in regularly to make sure everything was going well. We were seated at a long table with couches. While the couch was comfortable, the low table made it a bit challenging to eat, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. We started with the mussels, grilled octopus, escargot, hamachi crudo, and beef tartare on bone marrow. All the appetizers were great, but the hamachi crudo stood out for me--it was light with a subtle kick of heat. For the main course, we had the prime ribeye flambe, lobster linguine, and truffle pizza. The ribeye was flambéed tableside, which made for a cool dinner video! I just wish it had been seasoned a bit more. The mashed potatoes that came with the ribeye were fantastic. The lobster linguine, although not the most visually appealing, was delicious and packed with lobster. The truffle pizza, however, was a bit underwhelming--it smelled wonderfully of truffle but lacked flavor. The restaurant is also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus. To top it all off, the staff made my mom's birthday extra special by coming out with sparklers and singing Happy Birthday with us. The vibes were fantastic, and it definitely ended our meal on a high note. Would highly recommend this place for a fun night out!

Yelp
I set up an event at Loulou for 50 people. It was a multi-month process and Antoine was super responsive, patient, and great to work with. Always quick to answer my many questions and respond to last minute changes. We chose the "Lite" dinner at $55 per person which was a 4-course dinner that was a very, very filling meal. It was all very delicious. However, everything came out very slowly, and for one of the tables (mine, which was seated in the main dining room, while the rest of the group was in a private room. This was a pre-discussed seating arrangement due to space availability in the private room). We had to ask several times in the first 20 minutes even to get our water served to us. To be fair, there was some confusion around how the servers would identify our vegan and vegetarian guests, which caused things to start late on the service side. We arrived at 6:30pm, didn't get our first course until close to 7 or 7:15pm, and by 8:30pm had not gotten the main entree. Actually, most of our group ended up leaving because they were full and it was so late. It was a lot of waste for the main entree and dessert courses. Also, strangely, the chef kept insisting the caesar salad was dairy free. They had told me this ahead of time and insisted it when the salad was served. I saw what looked, and tasted like cheese on the salad. When I inquired, Antoine got the chef on the phone, and he told me that it was a special cheese, Grana Padano, that does not have lactose because of the way it's processed. Therefore, it's dairy free. Yes, this cheese does not have lactose. But it is still a cheese! Maybe someone who is lactose-intolerant can have the salad. But it canNOT be called dairy-free. I told the chef this, and I'm not sure if he believes me and will not call it dairy-free. Otherwise, the food was honestly quite excellent. They even made a vegan margherita pizza, which we had not previously discussed. Caesar salad 4 stars, Avocado hummus 4 stars, Spaghetti 4 stars, Margherita pizza 3 stars (crust a bit hard), Salmon 5 stars, Vegan Moussaka 4 stars, Chocolate cake 4 stars.

Yelp
Booked on Open Table for my birthday. Was very disappointed. The food was mid. It's pricey, so not only did I expect more in terms of portion size, but none of the dishes were memorable. I appreciated the food presentation and overall ambience. That gets 5/5 stars from me, but everything else did not meet my expectations. We ordered the hamachi crudo, beef tartare in marrow bone, pappardelle bolognese, and tarte tatin. The hamachi was not very fresh. I've honestly had better at hole-in-the-wall sushi restaurants. Also felt like the rice crisps on top were an after-thought, and they were stale. I liked the oranges and pomegranate seeds on it, but overall I just felt like that dish was missing something to take it to the next level. The beef tartare looked very un-appetizing. Honestly, like dog food. I think they minced the meat too much and it perhaps started to oxidize from sitting out too long. It just did not look like a good beef tartare should, imo. Flavor was OK. Again, felt like it was missing something. I also did not like the bread that it came with. It was way too hard to chew. The best dish we had was the pappardelle bolognese. Flavor was pretty good, but the ratio of sauce to meat in the Bolognese was off. There was way too much meat and not enough sauce. Pasta tasted pretty fresh and al-dente. The tarte tatin dessert was very disappointing. The vanilla gelato was way too cold and hard to scoop. The pie crust and apples did not taste fresh and were lukewarm. The whole dessert felt like it was something that I could've bought at the grocery store and prepared myself. Service was very weak. It seemed like there was only one waitress waiting on all the tables. She definitely forgot about us when it came to ordering dessert. We had to wait about 10 minutes for her to come back to check on us. I also booked this for my birthday and did not even get a complementary birthday dessert, candle, happy birthday wish, etc. from the wait staff. Really wanted to like this place, but they need to step it up with the food and service.

Yelp
Date of visit: 7/2/2024 Trying to get the closest restaurant to have lunch with my son from where we were and this restaurant came up and I thought why not! Our orders: - avocado toast with poached egg: ORDER IT! My son's order. Pretty good! Originally just wanted to have a bite to try, ended up with 3 bites coz I just couldn't stop haha! The smokiness of the bread def added flare to the overall taste. Yum! - lobster linguine: ORDER IT! It actually on the lemony side of my liking but I appreciate the portion and how much lobster they threw in the pasta. The texture of the pasta itself was perfectly al dente, so if they can tone down the lemon spritz just a tiny bit, this dish would have been perfect on my book! Not sure if I will be back but definitely try this restaurant if you haven't.

Yelp
We came here to celebrate my partner's birthday. I saw several pics online and it looked so incredibly cute, so I thought we had to try it. I didn't realize the restaurant is not on the beach, it's actually inside the mall in Santa Monica. Nonetheless, the location inside so nice that you will be transported to a tropical place as soon as you step inside. I must admit I was a little disappointed with the food. They have several yummy options on the menu, from seafood to pastas, however, my choice was not it. I ordered the pesto pasta and thought it was rather dry and needed more flavor. I didn't actually finish it just because it wasn't tasty. We also ordered some hummus with crudités before our entrees. We loved the hummus but after a while, we asked for pita bread or chips-- seems like the veggies were not enough. Overall the service is decent. They surprised my partner with dessert and some sparklers to celebrate his birthday. I do have to say that our server never introduced herself to us when she walked to our table. She simply showed up and asked if we were ready for drinks. Not sure if she thought someone else had greeted us, but I thought this was a little rude.

Yelp
After we found parking on level 5, which (pro tip!) is perfect for easy access into the mall and the restaurant, we promptly found the restaurant for our reservation. Food Escargot: this French classic we had to try. Note that it is served with Parmesan. Frog legs: the dollops of sauce that were on there were SO good. Needed more to balance the dish. French onion: this soup was delicious. Get this. Recommend. Diavola pizza on their three day dough is pretty good. Fries are thick cut. Service was decent and casual. Another tip is to get a table the window. They're the best. 3 stars but rounded up to 4 for the ambiance which is cute and bohemian vibes.

Yelp
Sunday brunch $55 before Noon and does not include alcohol. A variety of food choices including an omelet and crepe station. The female DJ had amazing energy and created a great brunch vibe. The ambience made us feel like we were in another country. Victoria, Jorge and Ezgi attended to us very well. The restaurant event gives out a few goodies! Will definitely visit again.

Yelp
Airy resort feel! Came here to celebrate a birthday! We were seated promptly and had a table right next to the window so we were able to have a great view of the city. We ordered the crudo, octopus, truffle pizza, salmon salad and some cocktails and everything was delicious!! Service was a little slow in the beginning but once our orders were in, things came out pretty swiftly.

Yelp
Loulous has always been a great experience, but the Sunday brunch is the true winner. Had a brunch date with bestie and had the best time. The dj was amazing, the food was great, and the service was top notch. I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Yelp
No pics but the vibe was great! Went during brunch and it was so good! The DJ was great, the food was good, the servers were nice! The only con was the HEAT! We sat next to a window and the sun was BEAMING & the closer you were in the hotter it was - everyone needed fans. Other than that - it's a vibe , check it out!

Yelp

Yelp
If you're looking for a place with an amazing atmosphere and service this is the place! Sunday brunch is EVERYTHING! They should offer a little more food but drinks are amazing . I will definitely go back.

Yelp
Well let's start of by saying the pictures posted does this place no justice! It's beautiful inside, the DJ is sent from Heaven, the waiters and waitresses are an entire vibe, and the array of food is amazing! You get what you pay for is an understatement here! We came to celebrate my best friend the bride to be and she had a wonderful time! I've never stayed at brunch longer than an hour but we stayed until it was time to give our table lol not on purpose but that's how much fun you have! They even have all the women guest a rose and sang Love is in the air! I'll be back Lou Lou!!! Until then

Yelp
Aesthetic and service (had Nick as our server) was AMAZING, but food was very mediocre. Grilled Octopus (with Romesco Sauce, Avocado) - Really like the octopus here. It was perfectly cooked and not rubbery or anything like that. That Romesco Sauce on the side paired perfectly with the octopus. Totally recommend this dish! Mediterranean Hummus (with Crudite) - Hummus was absolutely delicious! Smooth and creamy and actually went really well with so many other items we ordered. It was a good volume of the hummus so there was plenty left over even after the veggies were eaten. Grilled Asparagus Side - They accidentally brought someone else's order to our table here, but this asp was Lovely! I don't usually like asparagus, but this was an exception. Great with that hummus! Cauliflower Steak - the cauliflower was still hard on the inside and not like a steak; More like a head of roasted cauliflower. Ended up eating just a quarter and taking the rest home to cook it more. This was the disappointment I would say. Poulet Aux Morilles - Chicken entree Not a bad dish but nothing fancy about this one. Husband had ordered this and if I'm not mistaken it was a little salty? Or a little dry? I'm not sure which but there was some issue here which made the dish a little lacking in something special. Lamb Chops - Friend ordered this and he seemed to really like it. I didn't try but the presentation was beautiful and he finished the entire plate so I take it as a good sign. Endive Salad - Another one ordered by our friend. Love the amount of vegetables in here but not a fan of how oily it was. I didn't want to try too much of it just because of the oil in there. We noticed they had a chocolate fountain while we were leaving and the server. Nick was generous enough to give us some fruit and a bunch of that chocolate on a plate. Really rich chocolate and a good end to the meal. Shout out to the server again for just giving us a fun time with conversation and laughter.

Yelp
Not a fan. It was a beautiful tropical themed restaurant inside, but everything else was off. Food was bland, very overpriced, and unimpressive. The presentation of the food was the only thing going for this place, but they even had trouble properly deboning the fish. We returned our salad because it was overdressed. Mid-way through dinner it turned into a club, which we were not expecting. If you want a club vibe, this may be intriguing to you, but I definitely won't be back.

Yelp
Vibes are great! This place was so much fun! I felt like I was in Mexico or something, it was entertaining. The DJ was on point, the surprise smoke, sparklers, shots! It was such a pleasant surprise. They like to keep you on your toes here. Music is loud so it's not a place to go to if you want serious convo. Drinks were delicious and the scallops were so tasty. I definitely recommend this place for a bday of fun type celebration with great company. Our server was awesome as well!

Yelp
Ambiance is 10/10- we came on a Friday night and it felt like a night out in Tulum with the greenery, dim lighting, and DJ creating such a vibe. Service could definitely be better as we had to ask for our water to be refilled every time; otherwise, our server himself was nice. My friend had the moulin rouge drink, which she enjoyed and was a nice pour. The baked Brie, LouLou pizza, and steak n frites were all good. Wouldn't get the escargot again, not the best I've had. Would love to come back for the day time brunch vibes but unfortunately heard from friends that the brunch buffet isn't really tasty. Looks fun though so may still be worth a try.

Yelp
Went here for my friend's birthday brunch. The place had beautiful decor with cool vibes. The food was good and the DJ was on fire. Service was just ok.

Yelp
LouLou is located on the top floor of the Santa Monica Westfield Mall ...which made parking and getting to it super easy The ambience is super inviting and gave very beachy Mediterranean chic vibes. We got seated on the patio and had a pretty great view of Santa Monica from our table. Although the menu offered some great bites (highly recommend the pulpo and lobster pasta) we were overall disappointed by the execution of some of our dishes and the price point for them. The brussel sprouts were quite raw, greasy and lacked any flavor. But the dish we were disappointed with the most was the duck entree which consisted of shredded duck confit, potato puree and creme fresh. Think duck shepherds pie. Ours hardly any duck and was really rich with an over use of the creme fresh. The side salad cut through the richness a bit but also based on the portion size of the entire dish...Id reclassify this more of a side than an entree. Overall the dinner was mediocre but would be willing to give LouLou another go for brunch to see if that's executed better Lastly, on Fridays they have a DJ so if you're not into loud music blasting while you eat... probably book an earlier table or one not on the patio

Yelp
What a vibe! Okay so the view isn't much but the ambiance, the decor, and the music is perfect in here. Very cool space. We came during happy hour and they have some great options. We started with an espresso martini which was just the pick me up we needed. The calamari was good and the salmon tacos were really delicious! Service was great and fast, but also we went early so can't tell you what it's like on a busy night. Cool spot!

Yelp
I decided to try this place solely based on the pictures on yelp. It exceeded my expectations. A gorgeous setup, beautifully decorated with a chill ambience. The service is phenomenal and a food was even better. I opted for the margarita pizza, but next time I'm definitely going for the steak. The pizza was simple and garnished with basil, only complaint was there was not enough cheese. And this is coming from someone who hates cheese! I love the fluff to crunch ratio of the crust.

Yelp
Fun, vibrant vibe at this fabulous boho chic rooftop restaurant in downtown Santa Monica! Loulou was the perfect spot and energy for a work team happy hour meet-up! Wine selection, service a restaurant aesthetics were great and the dinner menu looked fabulous so I'll definitely be back for that soon! Pictured apps were a beef (maybe truffle) carpaccio and baked goat cheese dip. Both were exquisite!! Highly recommend the baked goat cheese. Also the pick 4 appetizer dip (can't recall all 4 but two were hummus) which was yummy and went for the hard close with the dessert platter! Sold! Haha This was such a fun experience at LouLou with their cute, eclectic restaurant aesthetic that would make a perfect venue for a girls night or birthday party event!

Yelp
AHHHH OMG! What a gem! First off, it's right next door to a children's museum so if you got kids, you can tire them out at the museum and then eat lol! We tried the bread board and while not a butter and bread type gal (I know) NOW I AM lol we had the garlic and herb butter, 10/10. The drinks? 10/10 the customer service? Over and beyond! The bartender even when out of his way to grab a to go up for our sons apple juice :) The vibe? It feels like you're not in LA. Felt like we entered a resort or because of the decor they have. We enjoyed our time I want to come back for their brunch! If I was lit off 1 Aperol Spritz, I can't imagine the brunch/mimosa hour lol

Yelp
Jai the bartender was so engaging and fun. She amused us and makes a mean drink too. The happy hour pizza and drinks were wonderful and the view of the Pacific Ocean made it extra special. A friend and I had loved Loulou pre-pandemic and had not been back and we are so happy we did. After a movie, we were looking for something different and remembered the delicious happy hour oysters at Loulou. We weren't sure they would still be open. We will be back.

Yelp
Wow, just wow. LouLou is awesome! The venue is beautiful. The food is delicious and tactfully designed. Most importantly , to me anyway, is the staff. They are all nice and attentive. Their desire to make your visit pleasant and memorable is obvious. We went for the first time recently before attending Kooza at the Santa Monica Pier after seeing an Instagram post and we were very satisfied. There wasn't much of a view that evening due to some surprising fog that rolled in but you can tell the view is amazing from this rooftop restaurant. The manager stopped by and greeted us with a pleasant greeting and message. If you haven't been to LouLou's you need to add it to your dinner rotation. I put it on mine.

Yelp
Came here at 8:30 on Labor Day Monday night and to my surprise it was pretty empty. So empty, that staff had already started dissembling couch cushions and flipping over chairs onto the tables inside half of the restaurant. Which was rather weird, given they close at 11. It was nice for chill ambiance but definitely no nightlife happening here. The food was also pretty underwhelming but it was a plus that it came out quickly. Don't think I'd come back here unless it is for morning brunch, which seems to be the most popular time to visit for entertainment.

Yelp
Nice spot on top of the ghost building that is Santa Monica Place which is a shame, especially to be so dead on a warm Friday night, but the restaurant is a super comfy, pretty spot with covered outdoor and indoor seating. Service is friendly, Victoria looked after our table and she was knowledgeable and great. Food was very quick and fresh. Pretty tasty, We had Frogs legs - fresh, could use a little more seasoning and crispness Grilled octopus - tasty and tender Deviled eggs - nice, could use a little more flavor and didn't notice caviar if it was there Charcuterie was good Steak & frites, pretty tasty, I order MR and it was a little over cooked but still pretty tender. The marinade again could use a little more flavor and salt , but pretty good. I would've chosen the flaming rib eye, but more than double the price seemed far too much Lobster linguine is quite good, fresh squid ink pasta is great, again the dish could use a little more flavor, garlic Friends had pizza and eggplant parmigiana and while nothing special, they didn't dislike We tried 3 desserts, peach Melba, crème brûlée, and something else with a bunch of cream on it. They were ok, nothing special. Probably the best thing on the menu was the Lou Lou cocktail which is like a lychee martini. A nice night and probably one of the better places around there.

Yelp
Wow had such an incredible experience here! The food was bomb. Tried the beef bolognese which was absolutely delicious. The vibe and ambience reminds me kinds of Tulum on the inside -- it's on a rooftop but warm/somewhat enclosed and there's heaters. I'm definitely coming back. The service was fine also, they checked on us once or twice but the food and ambience are enough to keep you busy.

Yelp
Came here spontaneously on a Friday evening. It's located in the mall side of 3rd street promenade, right next to where DTF will be. When you first walk in, you see the beautiful bar. Then you walk up the stairs to the main dining area with a view of downtown Santa Monica and the DJ. The place was so vibey. Definitely gives Tulum vibes. We ordered the escargot dip, octopus, oysters and the bolognese. Everything was beyond delicious. Especially the octopus. It was so tender and juicy. The whole place gave beachy but upscale clubbing vibes. Definitely great spot for date night.

Yelp
Truffle pasta -tasting predominantly like cheap wine and lacking the expected truffle flavor Margherita, pizza - good Steak and frites - good Duck confit- felt like a letdown, resembling more of a baked mashed potato with a minimal amount of duck While the service left much to be desired with the overwhelmed waitstaff, the interior decor was visually appealing.Despite the friendly waiters, the challenges in getting attention affected the overall experience. The food, on the whole, was just mediocre. Overall, a restaurant with potential, but improvements are needed.

Yelp
Incredibly authentic, festive, fun and vibrant French rooftop bistro. The service is always A+ - merci Remy! The appetizers and libations are delicious! I came for a fabulous French Bastille Day celebration and the salmon was incredible. The live music, dancing and ambience is exhilarating!
