Popped in for a sticky bun that they advertised on their site... no sticky bun. Opted for two cinnamon rolls and one bacon cheddar scone. The space itself is 'lovely'. Plenty of seating if you want to dine in and enjoy your treat and coffee. Can't say that this place gave me the mouthgasm I was hoping for. The cinnamon roll was average, a little dry with a not so great texture. The bacon cheddar scone lacked both bacon and cheddar. If you advertise a cheddar and bacon scone make sure it's chock-full of those flavors. Total cost : 9 bucks plus .25 cents for parking. One star for atmosphere/decor, another for friendly service and one more for pricing.

My partner and I frequent this location for breakfast on the weekends. The food is always fantastic and the employees always friendly and helpful. Iain is the best, and his attention to his customers is definitely one of the reasons we keep coming back! We've tried the other bakery down the street, but we came right back to Lovely!

This is a great little spot for coffee, tea, food, sweets, and studying! There is always a mix of people here on Saturday who are chatting or working silently and it really works. They play the music loud enough to even it out so that if you are studying you aren't caught up on someone's conversation next to you. I can't really comment on coffee, I mean I know good coffee and bad coffee and this is the GOOD stuff! I usually get a soy latte and love it. Recently I've tried the bottomless cup of coffee, which is nice for an all day study session. Also, if the tables are full, don't forget, there is a four top in the back! What really pushes this to 5 stars for me is 1. service. Everyone who works here is so nice and respectful and just generous. I really enjoy coming here. and 2. the sweets. OMG - if there is monkey bread, GET IT. Also, their croissants are just heavenly.

I went there yesterday (3/16/14) at 3:35 p.m. and ordered a coffee for which I paid $2.19 (incl. tax) and got my laptop all setup. At about 3:45 p.m. a worker came offering cupcakes (which was nice) and said: I'm sorry, but we're going to be closing at 4:00 p.m. today. Ok that's fine; But you think he could have saved me $2.19 and told me when I was purchasing my coffee that they would be closing in 1/2 hour. I thought I would try the cafe, and there was alot of seating available, now I know why. I always go to Starbucks, but it was extremely crowded and usually very loud!! Well next time I know better. Total waste of my money and I'm not working right now. Also, your coffee is MORE expensive than Starbucks and I didn't get to finish it, UGGH!!

We recently bought a condo in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood. I was a little concerned at first because I thought we weren't close to any great local coffee shops that served Intelligentsia (the best). After stumbling on this joint I was immediately relieved. My one complaint, they close so early.

Great coffee served in perfect heavy diner mugs that they warm before hand so the coffee stays hot. Incredible pastries. Cute decor. And friendly staff.

Rounding up a 4.5. Lovely indeed bake shop / coffee shop. Two story ceiling with exposed beams and ducts. An airy and bright space rather than cozy. Alternative rock on the audio. Local art on the walls. Three large tables and 10 or so small ones. Several outlets. Free wi-fi with openly posted password. Chai is from powder, but a good selection of loose leaf teas including a decent chai. Lots of yummy if mainstream bakery items. Small selection of sandwiches.

I can't say enough about both of their locations! I usually meet my personal training and officiant clients in their location on Milwaukee. The coffee is great and the service is fantastic!
