Lovers of Today is the definition of a hidden gem. Dimly lit, super cozy, and full of character. Their cocktails are creative and delicious. The Astral Plane with is floral and refreshing without being too sweet. The Handsome Devil is dangerously smooth. Bonus: happy hour from 5 to 7 pm makes trying more than one way too easy. Great vibes, great service, and drinks that taste as good as they look.

Vibes cocktail bar. Packed on a Saturday but good energy. Late twenties crowd. Jazzy music. I think the “tall” cocktails are more interesting than the “up” ones. Very flavourful. Fun girly spot for drinks with friends

It’s a nicely decorated space and definitely a good spot for a drink after dinner or for a date. You go to the bar to order drinks. They have some infused liquor drinks that are delicious. I loved this bar, it was my favorite in the neighborhood, but I have had my credit card stolen out of my bag TWICE here. I had my bag zipped closed and under my shoulder and didn’t even take my wallet out the second time because I didn’t want to risk it and someone managed to get into my bag and steal my card. I didn’t want to return after it happened the first time but I was in a group that wanted to go here and was assured by the bouncer that the situation was being monitored. I had one beer the second time this happened and was fully aware and cautious and they still managed to steal my wallet. I also found another empty wallet ransacked on the floor that I returned to the bartender. People have also had phones stolen here for the last two months. They have done nothing to monitor or respond to the ongoing situation or check security footage. Something insanely sketchy is going on here, don’t pay to get your stuff stolen!!

First of all- this place has the best vibes and is so so cozy if you have a date. It definitely is VERY dark, so before showing up I’d definitely already be a drink or two in. I ordered the Marquee Moon, and the blackberry preserves made it so so delicious. These are craft and quality cocktails, so every time I go I am always super impressed. They have a wonderful happy hour that goes into the weekend as well!!! 9.5/10

Located on East 7th street, this bar is rumoured to be the one referred to by Taylor swift in the song " Delicate" and is truly a dive bar with fine alcohol and some splendid cocktails, dim lights , cosy and is certainly a must visit place in NYC. The place was quite packed when we visited, but we managed to find a corner with stools and later settled into comfortable seats when some guests left. Would surely visit again to relive that experience

Solid drinks and cool bar with so many rooms it feels like a labyrinth. Cozy and intimate feel. Good music taste/volume. Can get crowded on the weekends and overheat small white girls from Wisconsin.

For a "Dive Bar On The East Side " it was perfect. The drinks were good and worth the walk we. Younger crowd but also some good people watching. Play list tonight was late 70 disco

Lovers of Today is right off of Avenue A, on East 7th Street. The entrance is unassuming, but you will know you are there if you look up and see the red neon heart sign. You descend down a small staircase and the bar is to your right. There is a tiny outdoor seating area with two benches too. The bar itself is two darkly lit rooms and is not super big. It is cozy and intimate. I like that the bar and all of the tables are sprinkled with fake rose petals. Happy hour is every day from 5pm-7pm - all cocktails are $12, can't beat that. When we showed up, it was pretty quiet with a few people there. They were getting ready to close for a private event that was beginning in about an hour. Their cocktail list is posted on the glass behind the bar. Some interesting choices, mostly involving gin, rum and bourbon, along with some floral accents like chamomile and lavender. I had the Fan Mail, which was light and refreshing. Service was good and prompt. The bar accepts credit cards too. Overall, this was a very nice, intimate place to come on a Friday night. There was music playing but it wasn't super loud. The ambience was perfect if you don't want to sit in a loud bar with people yelling and talking loudly. I think this would even make for a nice first date spot as it has plenty of cozy corners and booths where you can sit with someone and talk.

The most magical bar in NY. It's such a vibe! We scored a cozy alcove table. Every single drink I had was so delicious. Great service. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in NYC.

Went on a Saturday and the bouncer acted way more serious than necessary. About a billion other spots nearby. Was excited to try this place but it just wasn't worth the hassle.

Super cute little cocktail bar. We came here on a Saturday evening around 7pm, and got seats without much waiting. Amazing cocktails for a great price, $14? I was a little taken aback when it was $28 for two drinks...not used to that in NYC. Super young crowd. My friend and I were probably the oldest people in the bar. There was just 1 bartender, he is a super human, not only was he mixing drinks and keeping the tab open/close, but he was also serving water and cleaning up the tables. We got two rounds each of Handsome Devil and Astral Plane, both were fantastic. I'll gladly come back here.

The neon red heart sign is your marker; see that and you are the right spot. They have a Cute cocktail menu with Something for every type of liquor drinker. The Music is loud but not horribly so; Not too busy on a Thursday but a good vibe going. I recommend the "Another girl Another planet". It's refreshing and sweet but not too sweet. Hubby loved his whiskey drink that we can't remember the name of but it had some apple spice in it. We really liked it here. The vibe, the cocktail menu, the music, the bartenders -- all very good!

$12 drinks 2-4am seems like a good deal if you're awake that late (usually $16) nice vibes in a dark & intimate space. came at like 10pm on a wednesday and it was not that packed but it was more crowded when we left (around midnight)

Late night happy hours are the best! It's a super cute hidden little spot. I will definitely return back when I'm more sober to appreciate it fully.

Stopped by on a Thursday after dinner, not too difficult to get a seat at the bar but was moderately full. Fun imaginative cocktail menu, cute theme/decor, and good music. Great bartenders -- we asked for some off-menu cocktails that were made perfectly.

Came here around 9:30 on a Friday after going to dinner in the area and it was packed! But it was so worth standing around the bad for this cocktail. I got the Hong Kong Garden and it was delicious! This is a great at place to get a quality cocktail at an affordable price. 10/10 recommend!

Cozy spot in a good location for a night out. The interior is dark and feels private, but the music is a bit loud, so if you're hoping for a deep conversation across a table, you might want to save it for a slightly quieter venue. Cocktail prices are par for course in Manhattan, but the fun names and interesting combos justify it-- mostly.

Love the bartenders they are goddesses. HOWEVER, there was a rude ass employee that told me to stand up when i was sitting on the couch trying to get some AC from the ceiling. He BARKED at us to get down without the slightest consideration that we were overheating. We were SITTING ON THE COUCHES. And apparently it was a problem... anyways...

if I could I would give one star. The bouncer is aggressive and pushed someone on me and my friends while we were waiting in line then told us to leave for no apparent reason. A group of people walked out and told us not to come in because it was so bad. The manager is also the worst because he asked our side of the story then argued with us before he heard us out. Only came here because of Taylor Swift coming here and she would be disappointed by this behavior.

This small bar only fits a few tables, and has only one bartender working. As a result, you might wait a bit for drinks, but the drinks were decent. Happy hour is from 5-7 PM, and the drinks are pretty cheap during this time! The inside of the bar is well-decorated, but not in a way that's good for photos. I think if you're having a date night or are looking for something that's more intimate, this is a great place to check out.

My friend has a peanut allergy. Literally life or death. She has a service animal. The security and bar manager would not let her into the OUTDOOR SPACE. She is so well behaved and passed them service dog test. My friend could die without her there. They turned her away without a thought which is (1) illegal (2) wrong. How are you going to justify not letting people with allergies and disabilities into your bar which has a both indoor and outdoor space. Will not return which is a shame because we love this bar. So messed up.

definitely one of my favorite small bars in the city. this place brings in some interesting people to say the least, so it's very entertaining. the drinks are really good too, i always enjoy the fanmail.

Popped in for a couple cocktails and found them to taste pretty much the same. Granted - both tequila-based. Expected a stronger variation to the flavours - HK Garden and Marquee Moon. Bartender was extremely efficient and friendly :) It has a background and allows for a more intimate date night - if that's what you're looking for :)

Really enjoyed this bar/lounge with my group of 4. It's cool that there are different rooms with different vibes/music. The main room was a bit crowded so we went to another smaller room where there was also a bartender. We sat in the couches and the ambiance was great especially for a Saturday evening. I would like to return back here!

Lovers was on our mini-NYC trip itinerary and honestly can't imagine visiting the city without stopping in. Honestly hesitant to write a review because I don't want this place to be overrun with crowds! The drinks were DELICIOUS and at happy hour pricing, couldn't be beat. Super vibey, staff was awesome, couldn't have asked for more! ETA: we loved every drink we tried! Between the whole group, our favorites were Teenage Kicks and Fan Mail

First impressions: Cute speakeasy... very intimate setting and dimly lit, would only be good if you want to get super close to your date... but not if you don't lol... but very small, limited seating and can become stifling as more people come in. Drinks are good. Would be a cute date night spot if you want to bring a date but groups are discouraged just because you'll find it very difficult to get seating together. They do have an outdoor area with a few wrought iron benches but if those are taken then you'll be left standing. Drinks: super unique + tasty and changes routinely. I enjoy cocktails as much as any NYer and the prices here aren't too bad. Conclusion: would come back here again for pre-game or pre-dinner drinks, provided we come early enough to avoid crowds.

Had no clue what to expect but my friends took me here on a whim, and I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed this place! We went here on a Thursday night around 11 and only waited a few minutes to get a drink at the bar. The bartender was extremely quick and friendly. I got the "Teenage Kicks" and it was so so good. Not too strong and the perfect balance of flavors. The bar is super unassuming from the outside, but as soon as you step down the stairs inside, you are completely transported. The place has a very cozy vibe, it's pretty dark but a plethora of candles on the tables throughout gives it light. The place has a few different rooms/alcoves with tables, and we had no trouble grabbing one once another customer left. We also heard there was an additional bar in another room, but we just went to the first one. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to New York. I also loved the rumor that Taylor Swift wrote the song "Delicate" about this place. Definitely not a dive bar though haha.

The perfect cute little drink spot! The cocktail menu has incredible creations and their 2 for 1 happy hour deal is a no brainer. Highly recommend for date night or with a small group of friends as the bar is quite small.

Been here twice so far and have enjoyed it. $16 a cocktail on non-happy hour and $12 a cocktail on weekdays before 7pm I believe. I'm not sure what I had the first time but this weekend I tried the teenage kicks cocktail (Aged rum, fresh lime, orgeat syrup, house made grenadine). First of all, I want to commend the bartender that was there. She was slinging back cocktails like no ones business and whatever fruity girly drink I received and questioned my life decisions over spending so much money on I have to say it was legit strong but in a pleasant way. Worth $16? Maybe/maybe not. Hey, it was a holiday, amiright? Worth $12? Yes. Bottled beers are around $8 but also why in the hell are you drinking redstripe in a cocktail bar? The ambiance and it being a little hidden speakeasy basement behind Niagara is cool. I guess. Because Niagara kind of sucks and kind of has always sucked. (Sorry, bar, since you're affiliated) Surprising contrast. But as we were settled in on our stools everyone must have caught wind to come here and soon the wee little basement was packed and took away that exclusive feeling or any romantic vibe with thirsty girls pushing their derriers into us. Timing is probably key here.

I really really liked Lovers of Today. Sat in the back area which was a bit more relaxed than the front on the day that I went. Cocktails were delicious albeit NYC-prices and vibes were good. Will definitely go back

Stumbled in for a drink on a rainy Saturday after having dinner nearby. A bit hidden but nothing that couldn't be solved with common sense. We walked in and quickly found a seat at the bar, which was perfect. The bartender checked our IDs and vaccination status and took our order. I had a custom made drink after giving my preferences but found that I was rather obsessed with my fiancé's drink instead. I cannot stress to you how good the Fan Mail drink was. Honestly divine. Please order it if you do go, and you have a penchant for sweeter and almost bubbly drinks that get you to a lovely place. The ambiance is darkly lit and features great music. Definitely a place to be cocooned in with your, lover.

Stopped by on a Friday night while restaurant hopping around East Village. It was crowded, but we managed to get a little space in the corner. It had an overall relaxed vibe (i.e., not pretentious). Drinks are $8 between 5pm-8pm / 2am-4am ($13 outside of happy hour). Cash only if you spend less than $20. I got the Jasmine infused drink (Another Girl Another Planet) and it was refreshing and delicious - I could actually taste the Jasmine. My friend got the Marquee Moon (blackberry) and it was alright, but slightly sweet for my taste. Bartender was friendly and worked quickly despite the demanding crowd during happy hour. I would go back for happy hour and if I'm in the area. It's a great place to go while you're killing time hopping around in EV among restaurants or bars. Thankfully, unlike the other bars in EV which require reservations and long waits, this place is an easy place for a drop-in.

As a Swiftie, this place was a MUST. We came here to grab a drink before a show. It's a dark little dive but very cozy and romantic. We grabbed a booth near the bar but saw the spot in the back where Taylor and Joe sat. The cocktails were some of the best I've had. Handsome devil was easily my favorite. While in our booth, we heard the girls in the booth next to us talk about TS and had a laugh about how that was why we were there too.

Now this is a tiny speakeasy! Calling it cozy or intimate doesn't do it justice. The few times I have been here after a night out for a nightcap I have basically been standing as all tables were filled. Still, plenty worth it for the quality unique cocktails and tasty concoctions. Reasonably priced for this kind of joint. I see they also do a happy hour but I'm never down here that early.

The darkest bar in Lower Manhattan. Couldn't see the drinks, I placed my trust in the mixologist. Well-made $12 happy hour cocktails are $12 dollars, inflation my god what have you done to the absurd LES? The music was very tasteful, soul classics with some classic rock and more recent R&B songs.

- $13 cocktails - Late night (2am-4am) deals: $8 cocktails - Small, intimate, candlelit basement area with two booth seats - I had the Another Girl, Another Planet and it was horrible. There was too much mint and the honey was overwhelming - We also had the Waterloo Sunset and it was way too bitter It's a shame that their cocktails aren't any good. The vibe makes for a great speakeasy.

This dark little spot if perfect for a pre or post dinner cocktail. It is beyond romantic and has fun seating indoors. I had the Marquee Moon and it was fabulous! Can't wait to visit again.

At around 10 on a Saturday, my friends and I stumbled across Lovers, the perfect spot for a night cap. That is, if you can grab a seat. This spot was "pleasantly packed," with no more sitting room and about as many people standing around doing some moderate hovering. It definitely maintains an intimate feel despite also being crowded. Lucky for us, it was a mild night, and we could hang in the outdoor space, which feels like a private alley (of which very few actually exist in the city). The cocktail menu is in a handy spot, under a dim light and in big font. At $13/each, the drinks are nicely priced. Among us, we got two gin drinks and one rum drink. Hard to choose a favorite, so you can't go wrong with Fan Mail, Astral Plane, or Hong Kong Garden. Check it out if you're in the area.

Lovers of Today is a cute but very small bar in East Village. My friend and I popped in for a drink and were happy to secure the last - and very best in my opinion - table in the spot. There's a small tucked away area right by the front door that is super romantic & all that good stuff. You order up at the bar and plop yourself down where you can find a seat. It's kind of a speakeasy but you just walk right in so...it's somewhere between a dive bar, a lounge & a speakeasy. All the reviews I read prior to going said there was no sign outside which may play into the speakeasy feel. However when I went, they did have signs directing us downstairs and in. They do Happy Hour from 5-8pm so that is my suggested time to go! Cocktails are HALF price which is an excellent HH special. The drinks were alright, service was alright, but we only stayed for one cocktail. A cute place to experience but overall was just an alright time for us. It would be great for a date night though, dim lighting and that name! I mean c'mon!

I've been here in the past and the cocktails were great. This most recent time the bartender didn't know how to make any basic drinks. He had to google how to make a martini and even after googling didn't put any vermouth in it. $20 for the worst martini I've had. Please train your staff if you're going to be known for cocktails

This is a cocktail only bar. I came with a friend after dinner nearby and our drinks were delicious - just what we were looking for :) It was about 8:30pm on Thurs night and the bar was dark and lit by candles.. super romantic haha. Definitely a great date spot. I will be back!

If you are looking for an intimate bar scene, look no further. This bar is charming, cozy, and puts the mood in mood lighting. Cozy leather booths, great cocktails, and candle light. Love songs over the speakers and a neighborhood vibe.

i cannot even put into words how disgusted I am with the general manager. Never got his name but not only did he harass my friend, he threatened her too. I have never had an experience like this where the GENERAL MANAGER treated customers so poorly. He was so disrespectful and rude, I'm literally shocked. Don't come here. I used to come here so often and would bring so many people, but never again. Telling everyone to NOT come here.

I am so glad this bar is still up and running during Covid! Thanks to indoor dining we were able to enjoy the ambience, vibe and the great music! Love the interiors and the music just goes so well with it. The bar tender was the only one serving drinks and running around! He was sweet to accommodate us 45 minutes before closing. They have some great drinks, but the neat cocktails were perfect, only if you are a Gin lover! The candle light and the corner style seating was great for covid social distancing. If you love lounges, spacious versions of speakeasy, then definitely stop by this bar! Perfect date night spot as well as great for groups. They need you to order some side dish with drinks.

From walking in, was the worst experience in NYC , and I'm a native New Yorker !! . The bartender/bouncer/ greeter (all the same person had no personality ! He seemed annoyed that we were even here and had the nerve to charge over $50 for three drinks! ! I asked for advice on the drink specials and was told "they are all about the same".. Thanks dude !! Will never be back! Don't come here unless you want to have an exchange with a bartender with absolutely no personality!!

This is regards to that "secret" bar past Lovers... unfortunately we had an extremely bad experience because of Arie... who felt obligated to have something against men.. She/He/It/They... proceeded to say... as I witnessed them getting rejected "step away from me!" When none of the men with me... showed any signs of aggression... nor were they near "her"... the aggressor was Arie... and for no reason did they step near her... rather made them feel UNWELCOMED... please hire better people who welcomes everyone and doesn't feel offended by men... equally checked... not offended by ANYONE... what I witnessed was very offensive... we live in a very woke time period and this made me feel very uncomfortable as a minority...

Great cocktails and great happy hour prices! Very vintage vibe and great selection of classic music. Very romantic and great date spot. My date did an awesome job on this one. Lots of different cocktails to chose from, but my favorite was the handsome devil. Super small and does get crowded in Friday-Saturday
